When he accomplished the obligatory prayers, he would recite Surah al-Qadr (No. 97) frequently.
11.Shaykh al-Tusi has recorded that it is highly recommended to recite Surah al-Tawhid,recite 100 times Salwaat and 100 times isteghfar below
12.Imam Ja`far al-Sadiq (peace be upon him) is also reported to have said: If one says the following prayer after the Fajr Prayer , no sin will be recorded against him for a whole year:

1.Friday Dua just Before Dawn/Fajr
Shaykh al-Tusi, Sayyid Ibn Tawus, and others have mentioned the following
The dua alludes to dangers of total reliance on one's own intelligence.
allahumma salli `ala muhammadin wa alihi
O Allah, send blessings to Muhammad and his Household,
wa hab liya alghadata ridaka
grant me Your satisfaction this very early morning,
wa askin qalbi khawfaka
place fear of You in my heart,
waqta`hu `amman siwaka
and separate it from (leaning to) anyone other than You,
so that I will hope for and fear none save You.
allahumma salli `ala muhammadin wa alihi
O Allah, send blessings to Muhammad and his Household
wa hab li thabata alyaqini
and grant me resolute faith,

O He Who knows what is in the innermost of the silent;

wa ikhwani fi dini wa ahli
and my brethren-in-faith and my family members.
ilahi tumuhu al-amali qad khabat illa ladayka
O Allah, all ambitions of expectations are disappointed except those addressed to You,
wa ma`akifu alhimami qad ta`attalat illa `alayka
all resolute determinations are paralyzed except those relied upon You,
wa madhahibu al`uquli qad samat illa ilayka
and all reason-based tendencies are wasted except those directed to You.
fa-anta alrraja'u wa ilayka almultaja'u
So, You are the ultimate hope and to You is the resort.
ya akrama maqsudin wa ajwada mas'ulin
O He Who is the noblest objective and the most magnanimous desired,

la ajidu li ilayka shafi`an
I cannot find any interceder for me
siwa ma`rifati bi'annaka aqrabu man rajahu alttalibuna
except that I know for sure that You are the nearest of all those who are hoped by beseechers
wa ammala ma ladayhi alrraghibuna
and of all those whose donations are expected by the desirous.
ya man fataqa al`uqula bima`rifatihi
O He Who has split the intellects on the recognition of Him,

salli `ala muhammadin wa alihi
(please) send blessings to Muhammad and his Household,

wa la lilbatili `ala `amali dalilan
and do not give wrongness a way to reach my deeds.
2.It has been narrated that one who says the following litany three times before the Dawn (Fajr) Prayer on Fridays will have all his sins forgiven even if they are as innumerable as swelling foams:
أَسْتَغْفِرُ ٱللَّهَ ٱلَّذِي لاَ إِلٰهَ إِلاَّ هُوَ
astaghfiru allaha alladhi la ilaha illa huwa
I pray the forgiveness of Allah save Whom there is no god;

wa dhimami anbiya'ihi wa rusulihi `alayhimu alssalamu
the protections of His prophets and messengers, peace be upon them,

wa dhimmati muhammadin salla allahu `alayhi wa alihi
the protection of Muhammad, peace be upon him and his Household,
wa dhimami al-awsiya'i min ali muhammadin `alayhimu alssalamu
and the protections of the Successors from Muhammad’s progeny, peace be upon them.
amantu bisirri ali muhammadin `alayhimu alssalamu wa `alaniyatihim
I believe in the secrets of Muhammad’s progeny, peace be upon them, and in their open affairs
wa zahirihim wa batinihim
and in their exoteric and their esoteric affairs.
wa ash-hadu annahum fi `ilmi allahi wa ta`atihi
I bear witness that they, as regarding their knowledge of Allah and their obedience to Him,
ka-muhammadin salla allahu `alayhi wa alihi
are just like Muhammad, peace be upon him and his Household.
Recite 2 Rakat Nafila of Fajr
4.In his book of al-`Arus, Shaykh Ja`far ibn Ahmad al-Qummi has recorded that Imam al-Sadiq (as) is reported to have said that one who repeats the following litany one hundred times between the Dawn nafila (2 rakat before fajr) and obligatory prayers will be provided with, a house in Paradise:
سُبْحَانَ رَبِّيَ ٱلْعَظيمِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ
subhana rabbiya al`azimi wa bihamdihi
All glory be to Allah, the All-great and with the Praising of Him;

General Recommended Acts for the Day of Friday -Tabs |
The Salwaat-Invocation of blessings upon the Holy Prophet and his Household 1000 times and in different formats has been highly recommended for Friday.
Imam Muhammad al-Baqir (peace be upon him) is reported to have said, “For me, no act of worship is more favorable than invoking blessings upon the Prophet and his immaculate Household—may Allah bless them all—on Fridays.” If there is not enough time to repeat this invocation one thousand times, it must be repeated one hundred times at least so that faces will be brightened on the Judgment Day.
It has been also narrated that to invoke blessings upon the Holy Prophet and his household is equal (in reward) to seventy times of going on Hajj. & that all sins will be totally forgiven for those who repeat invocations of blessings upon the Holy Prophet and his Household one hundred times.
Imām Ja'far ibn Muhammad al-Sādiq (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَام) said:
“On Judgment Day, Allāh the Almighty shall raise the days, and Friday shall be raised as leader of all of them like a bride, possessing all perfections and beauty, presented to the owner of religion and wealth. It shall stop at the door of Paradise with other days behind it, and will intercede for all those who sent more blessings on Hazrat Muhammad (صَلَّى ٱللَّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ) and his holy progeny (عليهم السلام) in it.”
Ibne Sinan (narrator) says, ‘I said, How much is considered as more in it? And in which times of Friday is it best to send blessings and salutations?’
Imām (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَام) said, ‘Hundred times. And the best time is after Asr.’ He asked, ‘And how should I say it?’ Imām ( عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَام ) replied, ‘Say a hundred times:
اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَّعَجِّلْ فَرَجَهُمْ
O Allāh, bless Muhammad and the progeny of Muhammad and hasten their reappearance.
[Reference: Mikyal al-Makarim Fi Fawa'id al-Du'a Li'l Qai’m vol. 2; Part 6, point 13]
In the Imam's (peace be upon him) Ziyarat on Fridays the following statement is mentioned; 'Today is Friday, which is your day on which your advent is expected to bring about relief to the believers at your hands..'
In fact, Friday has been decided as feast day just because it is the day on which Imam al-Mahdi (peace be upon him) will reappear in order to purify the entire earth from the filth of polytheism and atheism and from the dirt of acts of disobedience to Almighty Allah and from sins.

Friday and Imam Zamana from Najmuth Saqib
It is having a special significance with regard to Imam Zamana (a.s.). One of them being that the birth of the Holy Imam (a.s.) occurred on that day and also that his reappearance will also take place on Friday; therefore, awaiting and anticipation on that day is more than on other days as is explained in some traditional reports and in it is mentioned in Ziyarat of the Imam specially performed on Friday that: O Master, O Lord of the time, benedictions of God be on you, and on your family members on this Friday and it is the day on which I anticipate your reappearance and victory in it for the believer upon your hands…till the end when it is said:
O my Lord, O the master of the age, blessings of the Almighty Allah be on you, and on your family members; this is Friday and it is the day on which you await your reappearance and the deliverance of the believers at your hands.
And I O my master, on that day, am your guest and I seek refuge with you and you, O my master, are the noble one and the descendant of the great ones and you are appointed to afford refuge; thus accept me in your care and give me refuge…and so on.
On the contrary, considering Friday to be a day of Eid from the four important Eid days in fact from the aspect that it is a special day for the believers as they will be elated on seeing the earth purified from the filth of polytheism and infidelity and the dirts of divine disobedience and from the presence of the tyrants, apostates, disbelievers and hypocrites and the appearance of the word of truth, the loftiest religion, laws of faith and the emblems of Muslims without any hurdle and prohibition of anyone from the enemies of the Almighty Allah and his devotees on that bright day will be pleased and elated.
In the supplication after the rising of the Sun on Friday there is hint to this point as Sayyid Ibne Taaoos has mentioned in Jamaalul Usboo’1 , p. 152 from Imam Moosa Kazim (a.s.) that he said to Muhammad bin Sinan on Friday:
Have you recited the necessary supplication this day? He replied: asked: Which supplication? He replied: Say:
Peace be on you, O the new blessed day which the Almighty Allah has made as the Eid for His friends, who are purified from the filths and who have exited from mischief and those, who have returned with His Awliya (a.s.) and who are cleaned of pains and the filths of beliefs and evil deeds, who have devoted their lives to the love of the friends of the Almighty Allah.
Then turn towards the Sun and say:
“Peace be on you O the brilliant Sun.” and so on. On the contrary, Friday is one of the names of the master of the affair or it is an allusion to that noble man or the reason of naming Friday as Friday
as Saduq in Khesaal p. 396 has narrated from Saqar bin Abi Dalf.
Imam Ali Naqi (a.s.) says in the exegesis of the tradition of the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.a.) that you must not be inimical to the days, as they will also be inimical to you. Then he said: We are the days… Till he said: And Friday is the son of my son and the folks of truth will gather with him.
Saduq said: Days are not the Imams (a.s.); however it is an allusion to them so that other than the folks of truth do not understand its meaning asthe Almighty Allah has stated:
“I swear by the fig and the olive, And mount Sinai, And this city made secure,”95:1-3 implying the Prophet, Ali, Hasan and Husain (a.s.) and then He has mentioned some other similes also therein.
Husain bin Hamadan in his book has narrated from Hasan bin Masud and Muhammad bin Khalil that they said: We came to our master, Abul Hasan Ali bin Muhammad (a.s.) in Samarrah and found him with some Shia people. We asked the Imam regarding the auspicious and inauspicious days.
He replied: Do not be inimical to the days, lest they become inimical to you.
I asked the Imam about the meaning of this tradition.
He replied: There are two meanings of this tradition: outward and inward.
The outward meaning is that Saturday is for us, Sunday is for our Shia, Monday is for Bani Umayyah, Tuesday is for their followers; Wednesday is for Bani Abbas and Thursday is for their followers; and Friday is the Eid for Muslims. And the inward meaning is that Saturday is my grandfather, the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.a.), Sunday is Ameerul Momineen (a.s.), Monday is Hasan and Husain (a.s.), Tuesday is Ali bin Husain, Muhammad bin Ali and Ja’far bin Muhammad (a.s.); Wednesday is Moosa Ibne Ja’far, Ali bin Moosa and Muhammad bin Ali (a.s.) and I; and Thursday is my son, Hasan and Friday is his son; who will unite the words; that is the faiths. All will unite on a single faith and through it he will perfect the bounty and the Almighty Allah will prove and express the truth and destroy falsehood and he is your awaited Mahdi. Then he recited: “In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. What remains with Allah is better for you if you are believers, and I am not a keeper over you.”11:86
Then he said: He, by Allah, is the remnant of Allah.2Hidaayatul Kubraa, p. 363 Saduq (r.a.) writes in Khesaal:394 narrating from Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s.) that he said: Saturday is for us, Sunday is for our Shia, Monday is for our enemies, Tuesday is for Bani Umayyah, Wednesday is for taking medicine, Thursday is the day when wishes will be fulfilled and Friday is for hygiene and for use of perfumes and it is the Eid of Muslims and it is the superior to Eidul Fitr and Eidul Azha.
Day of Ghadeer is the best of the Eids and it is the 18th of Zilhajj and it was a Friday. The Qaaem of us Ahle Bayt (a.s.), will appear on Friday and the Judgment Day will be on Friday and no deeds is better on Friday, except reciting Salawat on Muhammad and Aale Muhammad (a.s.).
Allamah Majlisi has narrated in Behaarul Anwaarvol. 3, pp. 340-341 that from the ancient sources of our scholars: After you conclude the Morning Prayer on Friday, recite the following testimony and then recite Salawat on Muhammad and Aale Muhammad (a.s.) and it is a lengthy supplication and some of its sentences are related to Imam Asr (a.s.)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. O Allah, be for Your Wali among Your creatures, a protector, a guard, a leader and helper, till he lives in Your earth in peace and enjoys it for a long time. And appoint him and his progeny the inheritor Imams.
And bring together his dispersed affairs, and perfect his rule, and bring for him his subjects and make his glory strong, and bless him with patience and forbearance. Till he takes revenge and give peace to his heart. And cure the hearts of malice and make the burning hearts cool. And end the regret of aggrieved souls, from the aspect of blood shed unlawfully and broken relations, and unknown obedience [ignorance about compulsory obedience of the rightful Imam] make the hardships good for him and make Your bestowals wide and complete Your bounties on him with a good protection to him. O Allah, remove the fear of enemy from him and erase his memory of enemies; do bad with all those who wish bad for him and plot against all those who plot against him and reserve evil for him. O Allah, scatter their conglomeration and end their limit and make their hearts overawed and make their steps slip. And crush their tribes, and scatter their affairs as they have wasted the prayer and have followed their base desires.
They have committed evils and kept away from good. Therefore, apprehend them through exemplary punishment and show them regrets. Indeed You are powerful over everything.
It is recommended to recite the well known Dua Nudbah, which is related to His Eminence and in fact the points mentioned therein are very touching and moving; causing one to be emotionally charged with attachment to the Imam for one, who has tasted even a little bit of the syrup of his love; it is bitterness of the poison of his separation, which becomes effective on Friday; on the contrary on its eve also as is mentioned in an ancient book of Ziyarat written by Shaykh Tabarsi, the author of Ehtejaaj, in which it is mentioned that it should be recited and since it is a lengthy supplication and is available in many other books as well, we have not mentioned it here.
The best deed on Friday
He says that the best of the deeds on Friday is to recite a hundred times after Asr Prayer: O Allah, bless Muhammad and the progeny of Muhammad and hasten their reappearance. And in many supplications of Friday, seeking help and hastening of the reappearance in the first supplications of the post prayer litanies of Zuhr on Friday, it is mentioned: O Allah, as my life is dedicated for Paradise with an infallible from the progeny of the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.a.), who is aggrieved due to his victimization and whose rulership is destined that through him He would fill up the earth with justice as it would have been fraught with injustice and oppression. O Allah, hasten his reappearance.
i.It is highly recommended to bathe oneself, ie, to do Ghusl. In fact, this is one of the most confirmed rituals of Fridays. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings upon him and his family) is reported to have instructed Imam `Ali (peace be upon him) by saying, “O `Ali; wash yourself every Friday even if you have to purchase water with your daily provisions and have nothing to eat. Verily, no voluntary act is better than this.”
Imam al-Sadiq (peace be upon him) is also reported to have said: Whoever washes himself on Fridays and, says the following prayer will be pure all through that week:
أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لاَ إِلٰهَ إِلاَّ ٱللَّهُ
ash-hadu an la ilaha illa allahu
I bear witness that there is no god except Allah,
wahdahu la sharika lahu
the One, (there is) no associate with Him;
wa ash-hadu anna muhammadan `abduhu wa rasuluhu
and I testify that Muhammad is His servant and His Messenger.
allahumma salli `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin waj`alni mina alttawwabina
O Allah, send blessings to Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad,
waj`alni mina almutatahhirina
and make me of those who turn to You constantly
ash-hadu an la ilaha illa allahu
and those who keep themselves pure and clean.
“Pure” in the aforesaid Hadith stands for purification from sins or acceptance of the deeds, which is thus moral purification.
In any case, it is important not to neglect bathing oneself on Fridays when possible. The recommended time of this bathing is between sunrise and midday. In addition, the nearer to midday the better.
Another Dua after Ghusl :Imam Reza (a.s.) narrates:
“Performing ghusl on Friday is desirable which is equal to an obligation. Do not avoid it while you are at home or on a journey. It is enough to perform after sunrise but it is better if it is nearer to noon. Recite this supplication after performing ghusl.”
allaahumma tahhirnee wa tahhir qalbee wan qe ghuslee wa ajre a’laa lesaanee zikraka wa zikra nabiyyeka mohammadin sallal laaho a’layhe wa aalehi waj a’lnee menat tawwaabeena wa menal motatahhereen.
O Allah! Purify me and purify my heart, adorn my bath, and make Your remembrance and remembrance of Your prophet Muhammad, peace of Allah be on him and his progeny, flow on my tongue. Make me amongst the repantent and the purified ones.
If anyone forgets to perform ghusl on Friday. Some maraje permit to take it from Fajr till the time of Asr next day

And the best time is after Asr.’ He asked, ‘And how should I say it?’ Imām ( عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَام ) replied, ‘Say a hundred times:

ii.It is recommended to cut the mustache neatly and trim the nails,
As has been mentioned in narrations, these acts bring about expansion in sustenance, and security from insanity and leprosy.
Whilst doing that, say the following :
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِوَبِٱللَّهِ
bismillahi wa billahi
In the Name of Allah (I begin);and by (the command of) Allah
wa `ala sunnati muhammadin wa ali muhammad
and according to the tradition of Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad (I do this).
It is also recommended, on cutting the nails, to start with the little finger of the left hand and end with that of the right hand. The same thing is applicable to the nails of the feet. Then, the cut nails should be buried.
iii.It is recommended to apply perfume and put on the best of one’s clothes.
iv.It is recommended to give Sadqa/Alms, for the rewards are doubled up on Fridays and at Friday nights, as is confirmed by narrations, as one thousand folds as giving alms on other days.
v.It is recommended to arrange fruits and wholesome meals to the family members so that Fridays will be their days of pleasure.
vi.It is recommended to eat pomegranate before breakfast and to eat seven leaves of endive before midday. Imam Musa al-Kadhim (peace be upon him) is reported to have said, “The heart of him who eats a pomegranate before breakfast on Fridays will be enlightened for forty days. To eat two pomegranates increases the period of enlightenment to eighty days, and so on. It also dismisses the evil suggestions. Of course, to get rid of Satan’s suggestions is to stop acting disobediently to Almighty Allah; and to stop acting disobediently to Him allows entrance to Paradise.” In al-Misbah, the author has said that to eat pomegranates on Fridays and at Friday nights has great merits.
vii.It is recommended to dedicate Fridays to learning the religious laws and instructions, not to wandering in others’ gardens, accompanying the vicious and the licentious, speaking about the others’ defects, laughing and guffawing, reciting poetry, and discussing useless subjects as well as similar matters. Disadvantages arisen from such matters are too many to be mentioned.
Imam Ja`far al-Sadiq (peace be upon him) is reported as saying, “Woe to a Muslim who does not dedicate Fridays to learning the affairs of his religion.”
viii.It is recommended to visit the tombs of one’s relatives in general and parents in particular. Imam al-Baqir (peace be upon him) is reported as saying, “Visit the graves of your relatives on Fridays, for they know about those who visit their graves and will be happy for that.”
ix.It is recommended to dye hair with hibiscus, for it saves from leprosy and insanity.
It is also recommended, on cutting the nails, to start with the little finger of the left hand and end with that of the right hand. The same thing is applicable to the nails of the feet. Then, the cut nails should be buried.

Friday - Day Associated with the Awaited Saviour, Imam Mahdi (peace be upon him)
Friday has a relationship with Imam al-Mahdi —may Allah hasten his advent— from several aspects. On Friday, Imam al-Mahdi (peace be upon him) was born and on Friday, his delightful advent shall be. Hence, to expect Relief on Friday should be more intense than other days.In the Imam's (peace be upon him) Ziyarat on Fridays the following statement is mentioned; 'Today is Friday, which is your day on which your advent is expected to bring about relief to the believers at your hands..'

O Allah, I seek refuge in You and in the light of Your noble face from any distortion of my form.
Wa an turaddida rūḥī fī l‘adhābi binūrika lmaḥjūbi ‘an kulli nāẓirin nawwir qalbī.
And from my soul being returned to torment; by Your light concealed from all eyes, illuminate my heart.
Fa innī anā ‘abduka wa fī qabḍatika wa lā Rabba lī siwāka.
For indeed, I am Your servant, within Your grasp, and I have no Lord besides You.
Allāhumma innī ataqarrabu ilayka biqalbin khāḍi‘in wa ilā waliyyika bibaḍanin khāshi‘in wa ilā la’imma rrāshidīna bifu’ādin mutawāḍi‘.
O Allah, I draw near to You with a submissive heart, to Your guardian with a humble body, and to the rightlyguided Imams with a modest soul.
Wa ilā nnuqabā’i lkirāmi wa nnujabā’i laghirrah.
And to the noble leaders and the distinguished chosen ones.
Bidhdhulli wa urghimu anfī liman waḥḥadaka wa lā ilāha ghayruka wa lā khāliqa siwāka.
With humility, I lower my nose in submission to the One who declares Your Oneness, for there is no deity besides You, nor creator other than You.
Wa uṣaghghiru khaddī liawliyā’ika lmuqarrabīn wa ufḍī ‘anka kulla ḍiddin wa nidd.
I humble my cheek before Your close allies and renounce every opposition or equal to You.
Fa innī ‘abduka dhdhalīlu lmu‘tarifu bidhdhanbī.
For I am Your humble servant, acknowledging my sin.
As’aluka yā Sayyidī ḥaṭṭahā ‘annī wa takhlīṣī mina ladnāsi wa larjās.
I ask You, O my Master, to remove it from me and purify me from filth and impurities.
Ilāhī wa Sayyidī qad inqaṭa‘tu ‘an dhawī lqurbā wa istaghnaytu bika ‘an ahli ddunyā muta‘arriḍan lima‘rūfik.
My God and Master, I have cut off ties with relatives and found sufficiency in You over the people of the world, seeking Your favor.
A‘ṭinī min ma‘rūfika ma‘rūfan tughnīnī bihi ‘amman siwāka.
Grant me from Your bounty a favor that makes me independent of all besides You.

O Allah make me submissive, till I surrender to Thee, make me happy by putting “fear of God” in my heart, Do not make me miserable on account of disobedience unto Thee. Write (prescribe) for me freedom from pain, trouble and anxiety, make ready for me blessings and happiness, so that what is last does not come in advance. Or what is urged to happen quickly is not delayed. Give me contentment and an independent disposition.

Make me derive advantage from the power of hearing (listen to and accept advise and obey), And seeing (discernment, intelligence, and perception of truth); And both of them to my inheritors (children) Give me an upper hand over him who intimidates me, and treat me well through Thy might and power;

O Lord, and keep me in that exact state. O Allah! Attend to and take care of me in the frightening hours of the Day of Judgment. Make me leave this world in safe and sound condition, and enter the permanent land of bliss and beauty (Paradise) in peace and tranquility; And join the delightful charming people who have refined manners, intelligent minds and beautiful faces, multiply provisions allotted to me, and to my dependents, also promote welfare of the people and make me sit, through Thy mercy, in the company of Thy upright servants.
allahumma in u-a’d’d’ibnee fa-ahlun lid’aalika anaa wa in taghfir lee fa-ahlun lid’aalika anta wa kayfa tu-a’d’d’ibnee
O Allah! If penalized (it means) I deserved punishment; if forgiven ( it is because) Thou art (the Most Merciful) Master. How would Thou punish?
yaa sayyidee wa h’ubbuka fee qalbee amaa wa i’zzatika la-in fa-a’lta d’aalika bee li-najma-u’nna baynee wa bayna qawmin t’aala maa a’adaytuhum feeka
O My Master! My heart is full of Thy Love, undoubtedly, and Thy absolute authority, very kindly, take notice of that, and keep us together with people who are given respite. How much less attention they may pay to Thy commands
allaahumma bih’aqqi awliyaa-ikat’ t’aahireena a’layimus salaam arzuqnaa s’idqal h’adeethi wa adaaa-al amaanatil muh’aafaz’ata a’las’ s’alawaati
O Allah! For the sake of Thy pure and pious friends, peace be upon them, make us preserve true traditions of the Holy Prophet (S.A), And come up to the confidence put in us, to keep safe and watch over the “backbone” of Thy religion (adoration and worship of Allah).
allaahumma innaa ah’aqqu khalqika an taf-a’la a’aalika binaa allaahummaf a’lhu binaa birah’matika
O Allah! Truly, we are the worthiest among thy creation, treat us in that context. O Allah! Treat us mercifully.

O Allah! Make my knowledge about thee of the highest quality. Do not let me drown myself in hatred, nor feel resentful; keep me steadfast, within bounds, obedient, enduring.

O Allah forgive me, have mercy on me, make me strive in Thy way honestly, free me from the heat of burning Hell, from being consumed by the blazing fire, make less what I have to pay back, and punishment I deserve, make me be one of the choicest people for all times.
allaahumma arh’amnee mimmaa laa t’aaqai lee bihee wa laa s’abra lee a’layhi bi-rah’matika yaa arh’amar raah’imeen allaahumma s’alli a’laa muh’ammadin’w wa aali muh’ammad.
O Allah! Have mercy on me because have not the strength, nor patience to withstand it (punishment), Through Thy mercy, O the Most Merciful. O Allah send blessings on Muhammad and on the children of Muhammad.
Bismillāh al-Raḥmān al-Raḥīm
In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate.

Yā Man Yarḥam Man Lā Yarḥamuhu al-‘Ibād
O He Who shows mercy to those whom the servants do not show mercy,

Wa Yā Man Lā Yukhayyib al-Muliḥḥīn ‘alayh
O He Who does not disappoint those who persist in asking Him,
Wa Yā Man Lā Yajbah bi-al-Radd Ahl al-Dāllah ‘alayh
O He Who does not respond with rejection to those who depend on Him,
Wa Yā Man Yajtabī Ṣaghīr Mā Yutḥaf bih
O He Who accepts the little that is offered to Him,
Wa Yashkur Yasīr Mā Yu‘mal lah
And appreciates the small deeds done for Him,
Wa Yā Man Yashkur ‘alā al-Qalīl
O He Who thanks for the little,
Wa Yujāzī bi-al-Jalīl
And rewards with the great,
Wa Yā Man Yadnū ilā Man Danā Minhu
O He Who draws near to those who draw near to Him,
Wa Yā Man Yad‘ū ilā Nafsih Man Adbar ‘anhu
O He Who calls to Himself those who turn away from Him,
Wa Yā Man Lā Yughayyir al-Ni‘mah
O He Who does not change the blessings,
Wa Lā Yubādir bi-al-Niqmah
And does not hasten to punish,
Wa Yā Man Yuthmir al-Ḥasanah ḥattā Yunmiyahā
O He Who makes the good deed grow until He completes it,
Wa Yatajāwaz ‘an al-Sayyī’ah ḥattā Yu‘affīyahā
And forgives the bad deed until He removes it,
Inṣarafat al-Āmāl Dūn Madā Karamik
Hopes have turned away before reaching the extent of Your generosity,
bi-al-Ḥājāt, wa-Imtala’at bi-Fayḍ Jūdik
With needs, and the containers of requests have been filled with the abundance of Your generosity,
Aw‘iyat al-Ṭalibāt, wa-Tafassaḥat Dūn Bulūgh Na‘tika
And the descriptions have fallen short of reaching Your attributes,
al-Ṣifāt, Falak al-‘Ulū al-A‘lā Fawq Kull ‘Ālī
So You have the highest loftiness above all that is high,
wa-al-Jalāl al-Amjad Fawq Kull Jalāl
And the most glorious majesty above all that is majestic,
Kull Jalīl ‘indak Ṣaghīr
Every great thing before You is small,
wa-Kull Sharīf fī Janb Sharafik Ḥaqīr
And every honorable thing beside Your honor is insignificant.
Khāb al-Wāfidūn ‘alā Ghayrik
Those who approach anyone other than You are disappointed,
wa-Khasira al-Muta‘arriḍūn illā lak
And those who expose themselves except to You are losers,
wa-Ḍā‘a al-Mulimmūn illā bik
And those who seek assistance except by You are lost,
wa-Ajdaba al-Muntaji‘ūn illā Man Intaja‘ Faḍlak
And those who seek pastures except for Your bounty are barren.
Bābuk Maftūḥ li-al-Rāghibīn
Your door is open for those who desire,
wa-Jūduk Mubāḥ li-al-Sā’ilīn
And Your generosity is available to the seekers,
wa-Ighāthatuka Qarībah min al-Mustaghīthīn
And Your help is near to those who cry out for it.
Lā Yakhīb Min Ka al-Āmilūn
Those who hope in You are not disappointed,
wa-Lā Yay’as Min ‘Aṭā’ika al-Muta‘arriḍūn
And those who expose themselves to Your gifts do not despair,
wa-Lā Yashqā bi-Naqmatika al-Mustaghfirūn
And those who seek Your forgiveness are not afflicted by Your punishment.
Rizquk Mabsūṭ li-Man ‘Aṣāk
Your provision is extended to those who disobey You,
wa-Ḥilmuk Mu‘taḍir li-Man Nāwāk
And Your forbearance is offered to those who oppose You,
‘Ādatuka al-Iḥsān ilā al-Musī’īn
Your habit is to be kind to those who do wrong,
wa-Sunnatuka al-Ibqā’ ‘alā al-Mu‘tadīn
And Your way is to preserve those who transgress,
Ḥattā Laqad Gharrahum Anātuka
Until Your patience has deceived them,
‘an al-Rujū‘, wa-Ṣaddahum Imhāluka ‘an al-Nuzū‘
From returning, and Your delay has prevented them from repenting.
wa-Innamā Ta’annaītbihim Liyafī’ū
You only delayed them so that they might return,
ilā Amrik, wa-Amhaltahum Thiqatan bi-Dawām Mulkik
To Your command, and You gave them respite trusting in the permanence of Your dominion.
Fa-Man Kān Min Ahl al-Sa‘ādah Khatamt lahu bihā
So, whoever is among the people of happiness, You have sealed it for him,
wa-Man Kān Min Ahl al-Shaqāwah Khadhaltahu Lahā
And whoever is among the people of misery, You have forsaken him to it.
Kulluhum Ṣā’irūn, ilā Ḥukmik
All of them are returning to Your judgment,
wa-Umūruhum Ā’ilatun ilā Amrik
And their affairs will return to Your command.
Lam Yahin ‘alā Ṭūl Muddatihim Sulṭānak
Your authority has not weakened over the length of their duration,
wa-Lam Yadḥaḍ li-Tark Mu‘ājaltihim Burhānak
And Your proof has not been invalidated by Your delay in punishing them.
Ḥujjatuka Qā’imah Lā Tudḥaḍ, wa-Sulṭānuka Thābit
Your argument is established and cannot be invalidated, and Your authority is firm,
Lā Yazūl, Fa-al-Wayl al-Dā’im li-Man Janaḥ ‘ank
It does not waver, so the eternal woe is for those who deviate from You,
wa-al-Khaybah al-Khādhilah li-Man Khāb Minka
And the disgrace that ruins for those who lose hope in You,
wa-al-Shaqā’ al-Ashqā li-Man Ightarra Bika
And the most severe misery for those who are deluded by You.
Mā Akthar Taṣarrufahu fī ‘Adhābik
How much he will wander in Your punishment,
wa-Mā Aṭwal Taradudahu fī ‘Iqābik
And how long he will hesitate in Your retribution,
wa-Mā Ab‘ad Ghāyatahu min al-Faraj
And how far his end is from relief,
wa-Mā Aqnaṭahu min Suhūlat al-Makhraj
And how hopeless he is of an easy way out.
‘Adlan min Qaḍā’ik Lā Tajūr fīh
It is justice from Your judgment that is not unjust,
wa-Inṣāfan min Ḥukmik Lā Taḥīf ‘alayh
And fairness from Your rule that is not biased against him.
Faqad Ẓāhart al-Ḥujaj, wa-Ablayt al-A‘dhār
You have made the arguments clear, and exhausted the excuses,
wa-Qad Taqaddamt bi-al-Wa‘īd, wa-Talaṭṭaft fī al-Targhīb
And You have advanced the warning, and been gentle in encouragement,
wa-Ḍarabt al-Amthāl, wa-Aṭalt al-Imhāl
And You have given examples, and prolonged the respite,
wa-Akhkhart wa-Ant Mustaṭī‘ li-al-Mu‘ājalah
And You have delayed while being capable of hastening,
wa-Ta’annaīt wa-Ant Malī’un bi-al-Mubādarah
And You have been patient while being able to act promptly.
Lam Takun Anātuk ‘Ajzan
Your patience is not out of weakness,
wa-Lā Imhāluka Wahnan
Nor is Your delay out of helplessness,
wa-Lā Imsākuk Ghaflah
Nor is Your withholding out of neglect,
wa-Lā Intiẓāruk Mudārah
Nor is Your waiting out of pretense,
Bal Li-Takūn Ḥujjatuka Ablagh
But so that Your argument may be more complete,
wa-Karamuk Akmal
And Your generosity more perfect,
wa-Iḥsānak Awfā
And Your beneficence more abundant,
wa-Ni‘matuk Atamm
And Your blessings more complete.
Kull Dhālik Kāna wa-Lam Tazal
All of that was and has not ceased to be,
wa-Huwa Kā’in wa-Lā Tazāl
And it will continue to be and You will not cease.
Ḥujjatuka Ajal min an Tūṣaf
Your argument is more sublime than to be described,
bi-Kulliha, wa-Majduka Arfa‘ min an Yuḥadd
In its entirety, and Your glory higher than to be limited,
bi-Kunhih, wa-Ni‘matuka Akthar min an Tuḥṣā
In its essence, and Your blessings more numerous than to be counted,
bi-Asrihā, wa-Iḥsānuka Akthar min an Tushkar
In their entirety, and Your kindness more abundant than to be thanked,
‘alā Aqalih, wa-Qad Qaṣṣar Bī al-Sukūt
For the least of it, and my silence has fallen short,
‘an Taḥmīdik, wa-Fahhanī al-Imsāk
From praising You, and my restraint has hindered me,
‘an Tamjīdik, wa-Quṣārāyā al-Iqrār bi-al-Ḥusūr
From glorifying You, and my utmost is to admit my shortcomings.
Lā Raghbatan Yā Ilāhī Bal ‘Ajzan
Not out of desire, O my God, but out of incapacity.
Fa-Hā Anā Dhā A’ummuk bi-al-Wifādah
So here I am approaching You with supplication,
wa-As’aluka Ḥusn al-Rifādah
And asking You for good hospitality,
Fa-Ṣalli ‘alā Muḥammad wa-Ālih
So bless Muhammad and his family,
wa-Asma‘ Najwāya, wa-Astajib Du‘ā’ī
And hear my whispers, and answer my supplication,
wa-Lā Takhtim Yawmī bi-Khaybatī
And do not seal my day with disappointment,
wa-Lā Tajbahnī bi-al-Radd fī Mas’alatī
And do not confront me with rejection in my request,
wa-Akrim min ‘indak Munṣarafī
And honor my departure from You,
wa-Ilayk Munqalabī
And my return to You.
Innaka Ghayru Ḍā’iq bimā Turīd
You are not constrained by what You wish,
wa-Lā ‘ājiz ‘ammā Tus’al
And not incapable of what You are asked,
wa-Anta ‘alā Kulli Shay’ Qadīr
And You are capable of everything,
wa-Lā Ḥawla wa-Lā Quwwata illā bi-Allah
And there is no power and no strength except by Allah,
al-‘Alī al-‘Aẓīm
The Most High, the Most Great.
Friday Dua from Al Seraj
It is recommended to read this dua on Friday. Imam Ali (a.s.) said the grieved will have his grief removed by Allah, the distressed will have his distress dispelled by Allah and the wish seeker will have his wish granted by Allah. (Ref Bihar al Anwar vol 87 Page 55)
Bismillāh wa billāh,
In the name of Allah and by Allah,
Akhadh-tu al-awwalīn,
I have taken the first,
Wa akhadh-tu al-ākhirīn,
And I have taken the last,
Wa akhadh-tu al-qā'imīn,
And I have taken those standing,
Wa akhadh-tu al-qā‘idīn,
And I have taken those sitting,
Taghshā abṣārahum ẓulmah,
Darkness covers their eyes,
Wa tursalus-samā' 'alayhim lahaban,
And the sky sends upon them flames,
Wal-arḍu shuhuban,
And the earth, meteors,
Fa aghshay-nāhum fa hum lā yubṣirūn,
We have blinded them so they do not see,
Allāhu yar'ānī,
Allah protects me,
Wa yuqawwīnī 'ala al-khalq,
And strengthens me against creation,
Binūri Allāh astabṣir,
By Allah's light I see clearly,
Wa biquwwati Allāh al-Quddūs asta'īn,
And by Allah the Holy's strength, I seek help,
Allāh yu'ṭīnī,
Allah gives me,
Wa Allāhu al-Malik al-Jabbār yarfa'ūnī,
And Allah, the King, the Compeller, raises me,
'Alā ajniḥati al-karūbiyyīn,
On the wings of the cherubim,
Wa al-ṣiddīqīn,
And the truthful ones,
Wa al-ṣāffīn,
And the ones who line up,
Wa al-musabbiḥīn laka,
And those who glorify You,
Allāh ad'ū,
I call upon Allah,
Wa anta Allāh arḥamu al-rāḥimīn,
And You are Allah, the Most Merciful of the merciful,
Laka Allāh ad'ū,
To You, Allah, I call,
Ilāha al-samāwāti wa al-arḍ,
God of the heavens and the earth,
Laka Allāh ad'ū,
To You, Allah, I call,
Ilāha al-malā'ikati al-muqarrabīn,
God of the near angels,
Laka Allāh ad'ū,
To You, Allah, I call,
Ilāha al-khalqi ajma'īn,
God of all creation,
Laka Allāh ad'ū,
To You, Allah, I call,
Ilāha al-shamsi wa al-qamar,
God of the sun and the moon,
Laka Allāh ad'ū,
To You, Allah, I call,
Ilāha al-kawākib,
God of the stars,
Laka Allāh ad'ū,
To You, Allah, I call,
Ilāha al-mashāriqi wa al-magārib,
God of the East and the West,
Laka Allāh ad'ū,
To You, Allah, I call,
Ilāhan muqaddasan,
A Holy God,
Anta Allāh al-‘Azīz al-Jabbār al-Mutakabbir al-Raḥmān al-Raḥīm,
You are Allah, the Mighty, the Compeller, the Majestic, the Most Merciful,
Al-wāsi'atu raḥmatuh,
Whose mercy is vast,
Al-khāliqu kursī ‘aẓamatih,
The Creator of the throne of His greatness,
Al-‘Azīz al-‘Aẓīm al-Jalīl,
The Mighty, the Great, the Majestic,
Tabāraka ism Allāh,
Blessed is the name of Allah,
Malik al-mulūk,
The King of Kings,
Takūnu asmā’uka hādhihi,
May these names of Yours,
Lī ‘aḍudan wa naṣran,
Be a support and victory for me,
Wa fatḥan wa haybatan,
And an opening and awe,
Wa nūran wa ‘aẓamatan,
And light and greatness,
Abadan mā abqaytanī,
Forever as long as I live,
Wa takūnu lī ḥifẓan wa khilāṣan wa najāḥan,
And be for me a protection, deliverance, and success,
Anā ‘abduka wa ibn ‘abdika,
I am Your servant and the son of Your servant,
Taghshānī raḥmatuka,
Your mercy envelops me,
Wa yaghshānī ‘iqābuka,
And Your punishment covers me,
Bi‘izzatika wa haybatika,
By Your might and awe,
Najjinī mina al-āfāt,
Save me from calamities,
Kamā najjayta Ibrāhīm khalīlaka mina al-nār,
As You saved Abraham, Your friend, from the fire,
Wa kamā kabasa Mūsā kalīmuka Fir‘awn,
And as You destroyed Pharaoh for Moses, Your speaker,
Wa bi-asmā'ika hādhihi fanajjinī bihā,
And by these names, save me by them,
Wa kamā al-arḍu makbūsatun taḥta al-samā’,
And just as the earth is beneath the sky,
Wa kamā banū Ādam makbūsūna taḥta al-samā’,
And as the sons of Adam are beneath the sky,
Wa taḥta malaki al-mawt,
And beneath the Angel of Death,
Wa kamā malaku al-mawt makbūsun bayna yaday Allāh Rabb al-‘ālamīn,
And just as the Angel of Death is between the hands of Allah, the Lord of the worlds,
Kadhālika yakūnu al-khalā’iqu makbūsīna taḥta qadamayya abadan mā aḥyaytanī,
Likewise, the creatures shall be beneath my feet as long as I live,
Yā nāṣira al-muslimīn,
O Helper of the Muslims,
Wa yā ṣarīkh al-mustasrikīn,
O Responder to the distressed,
Wa yā arḥama al-rāḥimīn,
O Most Merciful of the merciful,
Anta lī ḥirzun min jamī‘ khalqik,
You are my protection from all Your creation,
Wa min banī Ādam wa banāti Ḥawwā’ wa atbā‘ihim,
And from the sons of Adam and the daughters of Eve and their followers,
Wa min sharri al-jinn wa al-ins,
And from the evil of the jinn and humans,
An lā yasṭū ‘alayya aḥadun minhum,
That none of them overpower me,
‘Azza jāruk,
Your neighbor is mighty,
Lā ilāha illā anta,
There is no god but You,
Tamassaktu bi-al-‘urwati al-wuthqā allati lā infiṣāma lahā,
I cling to the firm handle that never breaks,
Allati lā yujāwizhā barrun wa lā fājirun,
That no righteous or wicked can surpass,
I‘taṣamtu bi-ḥabli Allāh al-matīn,
I hold fast to Allah’s strong rope,
A‘ūdhū bi-Allāh min sharri fasakati al-‘arab wa al-‘ajam,
I seek refuge in Allah from the evil of the wicked among the Arabs and the non-Arabs,
Wa min sharri al-jinn wa al-ins,
And from the evil of the jinn and humans,
Wa min sharri man yurīdu bī sū'an aw yurīdu bī sharran,
And from the evil of anyone who intends harm or evil against me,
Tawakkaltu ‘ala Allāh,
I rely on Allah,
Wa man yatawakkal ‘ala Allāh fahuwa ḥasbuh,
And whoever relies on Allah, He is sufficient for him,
Inna Allāh bālighu amrih,
Indeed, Allah will accomplish His purpose,
Qad ja‘ala Allāhu likulli shay'in qadrā,
Allah has set a measure for everything,
Ḥasbiya Allāh,
Allah is sufficient for me,
Bismillāh wa billāh ū’min,
In the name of Allah and by Allah, I believe,
Wa billāh athiqat,
And in Allah, I trust,
Wa billāh ata'awwadhu,
And in Allah, I seek refuge,
Wa billāh a‘taṣimu,
And in Allah, I take hold,
Wa billāh al-‘aẓīm astajīr,
And in Allah the Great, I seek protection,
Mina al-shayṭān al-rajīm,
From the accursed Satan,
A‘ūdhū bi-kalimāti Allāh al-tammāti allati lā yujāwizhunnā barrun wa lā fājir,
I seek refuge in Allah’s perfect words that no righteous or wicked can surpass,
Mimmā dhara'a wa bara'a,
From what He created and formed,
Wa min sharri kulli mā yaṭruqu bi-al-layl wa al-nahār,
And from the evil of all that comes by night and day,
Illā ṭāriqan yaṭruqu bi-khayrin bi-raḥmatika,
Except for one who comes with goodness by Your mercy,
Yā arḥama al-rāḥimīn,
O Most Merciful of the merciful,
Allāhumma innī a‘ūdhū bika min sharri nafsī,
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the evil of my soul,
Wa min sharri kulli dābbatin anta ākhidhun bināṣiyatihā,
And from the evil of every creature You have control over,
Wa min sharri kulli ‘aynin nāẓirah wa udhn sāmi‘ah,
And from the evil of every watching eye and listening ear,
Wa min sharri kulli mārid wa jabbār ‘anīd,
And from the evil of every rebellious and stubborn tyrant,
Allāhumma innī alja’tu ẓahrī ilayk,
O Allah, I have turned my back to You,
Wa tawakkaltu fī umūrī ‘alayk,
And entrusted my affairs to You,
Anta waliyyī wa mawlāya ilāhī,
You are my Guardian and my Lord,
Fa-lā tusallimnī wa lā takhdhulnī wa lā takilnī ilā nafsī tarfata ‘ayn,
Do not abandon me, nor forsake me, nor leave me to myself even for the blink of an eye,
Wa lā tu’ākhidhnī bidhunūbī wa isrāfī ‘alā nafsī,
And do not hold me accountable for my sins and my excesses upon myself,
Wa a‘innī ‘alā shukr ni‘matika,
And help me to be grateful for Your blessings,
Yā muḥsin yā jabbār,
O Beneficent, O Compeller,
Ij‘alnī ‘abdan shakūrā,
Make me a grateful servant,
Lā ilāha illā anta al-‘alī al-‘aẓīm,
There is no god but You, the Most High, the Great,
‘Alayka tawakkaltu,
On You I rely,
Anta Rabb al-‘arsh al-‘aẓīm,
You are the Lord of the Great Throne,
Lā ilāha illā anta al-ḥalīm al-karīm,
There is no god but You, the Forbearing, the Generous,
Subḥāna Allāh Rabb al-‘ālamīn,
Glory be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds,
Rabb al-samāwāt al-sab‘ wa mā fīhinna wa mā fawqahunna wa mā baynahunna,
Lord of the seven heavens and all within them, above them, and between them,
Wa Rabb al-‘arsh al-‘aẓīm,
And Lord of the Great Throne,
Al-ḥamdu lillāh Rabb al-‘ālamīn,
Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds,
Allāhumma ḥabbibnī ilā jamī‘ khalqik,
O Allah, make me beloved to all Your creation,
Ḥattā lā yakūna lī fī qalbi aḥad min khalqik ghilẓah,
So that there is no harshness towards me in the heart of any of Your creation,
Wa lā yu‘āriḍūnī,
And they do not oppose me,
Wa ij‘alhum yastaqbilūnī bi-wujūhin basīṭah,
And make them receive me with open faces,
Wa yaqḍūna ḥawā’ijī,
And fulfill my needs,
Wa yaṭlubūna marḍātī,
And seek my approval,
Wa yakhshawna sakhaṭī,
And fear my displeasure,
In Your Holy, Great, Greatest name, I call upon You,
Yā Allāh yā nūran fī nūr wa nūran ilā nūr wa nūran fawqa nūr,
O Allah, O Light in Light, Light upon Light, Light above Light,
Wa nūran taḥta nūr,
And Light beneath Light,

Yā ‘ajīb,
O Wonderful,
Fa-lā tanṭiqu al-alsun bi-kulli ālā’īh wa thanā’īh,
The tongues cannot express all His bounties and praises,
As’āluka yā Allāh amānan min ‘uqūbatik fī al-dunyā wa al-ākhirah,
I ask You, O Allah, for safety from Your punishment in this world and the Hereafter,

Wa as’āluka nūran wa naṣran wa rif‘atan ‘inda jamī‘ khalqik,
And I ask You for light, victory, and elevation before all Your creation,
Min banī Ādam wa banāti Ḥawwā’,
From the sons of Adam and the daughters of Eve,
Rabb al-arwāḥ al-fāniyah wa al-ajsaad al-bāliyah,
Lord of the perishable souls and the decayed bodies,
Wa al-arwāḥ al-murtafi‘ah,
And the elevated souls,

Wa as’āluka bi-ṭā‘ati al-‘urūq al-multā’imah ilā amākinīhā,
And I ask You by the obedience of the veins returning to their places,
Wa bi-ṭā‘ati al-qubūr al-mutashaqqiqah ‘an ahlihā,
And by the obedience of the graves splitting open for their inhabitants,
Wa bi-da‘watika al-ṣādiqah fīhim,
And by Your truthful call among them,
Wa akhdhika al-ḥaqq minhum,
And Your taking the right from them,
Idhā baraza al-khalā’iq fa-hum min makhāfatika wa shiddati sulṭānik,
When the creatures emerge, they are from Your fear and the severity of Your dominion,
Yantaẓirūna qaḍā’ak,
Awaiting Your decree,
Wa yakhāfūna ‘adhābak,
And fearing Your punishment,
Wa yarjūna raḥmatak,
And hoping for Your mercy,
Ij‘alnī min al-muqarrabīn al-fā’izīn,
Make me among the near and successful ones,
And cast upon me love, light, blessing, and awe,
Wa ij‘alnī mimman yusma‘u qawlī wa yurfa‘u amrī ‘alā kulli amr,
And make me among those whose words are heard and whose matters are elevated over all matters,
Anā ‘abduka wa ibn ‘abdika al-faqīr ilā raḥmatika,
I am Your servant and the son of Your servant, in need of Your mercy,
Ij‘alnī Allāhumma ‘āliyan muta‘āliyan,
Make me, O Allah, exalted and elevated,
Yā nūr al-nūr yā miṣbāḥ al-nūr,
O Light of the light, O Lamp of the light,
Adra’ū bika fī nuḥūrihim,
I repel them by You,
Wa asta‘īdhū bika min shurūrihim,
And seek refuge in You from their evils,
Wa asta‘īnū bika ‘alayhim,
And seek Your help against them,
Fa-kfinī amrahum bi-lā ḥawl wa lā quwwa illā bika,
So suffice me against their matters without any power or strength except by You,
Yā Allāh al-‘alī al-‘aẓīm,
O Allah, the Most High, the Great,
In nasha’ nunazzil ‘alayhim mina al-samā’ āyatan fa-ẓallat a‘nāquhum lahā khāḍi‘īn,
If We willed, We could send down upon them a sign from the sky, so their necks would remain humbled to it,
Innā rusul rabbika lan yaṣilū ilayk,
Indeed, We are the messengers of your Lord; they will not reach you,
Yā Mūsā aqbil wa lā takhaf innaka mina al-āminīn,
O Moses, come forward and do not fear, indeed you are among the secure,
Kataba Allāh la-aghlibanna anā wa rusulī,
Allah has decreed, "I will surely overcome, I and My messengers,"
Inna Allāh qawwī ‘azīz,
Indeed, Allah is Powerful, Mighty,
Allāhumma bi-‘izzatika yā dā’im al-baqā’,
O Allah, by Your might, O Everlasting,
As’āluka bi-al-ism allathi aḥaṭṭahū bi-ḥijābi al-nūr,
I ask You by the name that You encompassed with the veil of light,
Nūr al-samāwāt wa al-arḍ,
The light of the heavens and the earth,
Tuḍī’u bihi abṣāru al-nāẓirīn,
By which the eyes of the observers are illuminated,
‘Udhū bi-rubūbiyyatik yā Allāh,
I seek refuge in Your Lordship, O Allah,
Bi-ismika allathi taqūlu bihi lil-shay’ kun fa-yakūn,
By Your name with which You say to a thing, "Be," and it is,
Illā qaḍayta ḥājātī wa anjaḥta ṭalabatī,
Except You fulfill my need and grant my request,
Wa yassarta amrī,
And make my affair easy,
Wa satarta ‘awratī,
And cover my faults,
Wa amanta raw‘atī,
And secure my fear,
Wa razaqtanī nūran wa ‘izzan wa haybatan wa qubūlan wa rif‘atan,
And provide me with light, honor, awe, acceptance, and elevation,
‘inda jamī‘ khalqik,
Before all Your creation,
Bi-ḥawlika wa quwwatik,
By Your power and strength,
Wa bi-ismika allathi wasi‘a kulli shay’,
And by Your name that encompasses everything,
Wa huwa aws‘a minhu,
And is broader than it,
Yā dā’im al-baqā’,
O Everlasting,

And make my matters first in righteousness,

And last in success,

Supplication on Friday without fasting and no prayer I saw in the handwriting of Hassan bin Tahaf Rah
and in the books of our companions as well as the mention of the group [from him] from Wahb bin Munabbih, Al-Hasan Al-Basri and Ja'far bin Muhammad bin Ali bin Al-Hussein bin Ali bin Abi Talib from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) that he said:

The exegesis of the Salutations to Hazrat Imam Zamana (a.s.) on the day of Friday
Peace be upon you O guardian and supervisor nominated by Allah on His creation
The word Aayn? means 'eye' (Surah Maidah (5), Verse 54), similarly another meaning is derived from it is 'spring' (Surah Baqarah (2), Verse 60). The Holy Quran has used this word in context with these two meanings; otherwise the word has been used in several other meanings and contexts. According to famous Arabic litterateurs, the exact meaning of this word means eye and in rest of the cases its use is symbolic. He explained it with a simile that the reason for its usage in spring may be because the way water gushes out of the spring, similarly tears roll out of the eye.
(al-Mufradaat)
Hazrat Imam-e-Zamana (a.s.) has been mentioned as the 'eye of Allah', In Quran, Allah has mentioned His eye in the following verse: (O Prophet!) And wait patiently for the judgment of your Lord, for surely you are before Our eyes(Surah Tur (52), Verse 48)
It may be emphasized here that according to Islamic monotheistic beliefs Allah does not have any physical form or shape. However, He has made metaphorical references to things on His own like Kaaba is mentioned as His house and the she camel of Hazrat Saleh (a.s.) is mentioned as His own.
Nevertheless, according to the traditions of the Ahle Bait (a.s.), Imams (a.s.) are the eyes of Allah which constantly supervises His creation. There are innumerable traditions in this regard, but we will mention two of those traditions. Allamah Mohammad Baqir Majlisi (r.a.) in his famous book, Behaarul Anwaar has devoted one entire chapter to this subject and quoted 63 traditions in it.
1. Khusaimah relates that I asked Hazrat Imam Ja'far Sadiq (a.s.) about the Quranic verse "And everything will perish except His face (wajh)". Hazrat Imam Sadiq (a.s.) explained that
by 'wajh' Allah means His religion and the religion of the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) and Hazrat Ali (a.s.), they are His face and His eyes among the people.(Behaarul Anwaar, vol. 24, p. 197, hadith 33, quoted from Tauhid-e-Saduq, p. 140)
It may be noted here that the face of Allah here is not physical face but Imams (a.s.) because through them people can turn towards Allah.
2. Hazrat Imam Sadiq (a.s.) says, Hazrat Amirul Momeneen Ali (a.s.) said, 'I am the knowledge of Allah and the observant eye of Allah.'(Behaarul Anwaar, vol. 24, p. 198, h. 25, quoted from Tauhid-e-Shaikh Saduq (r.a.), p 152, 155)
It is evident that in the present era, Hazrat Imam-e-Zamana (a.s.) who represents Ahle Bait (a.s.), is the eye of Allah who guards His creation.
'Peace be upon you O light of Allah through whom the guided ones receive guidance and through whom the believers are provided salvation.'
Shia and Sunnis unanimously agree that the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) and His Ahle Bait (a.s.) are the light of Allah which guides mankind. Let's have a glance at the 'Ayate Noor" and its interpretation in the Holy Quran:
Allah is the light of the heavens and the earth; the likeness of His light is as a niche in which is a lamp, the lamp is in a glass, (and) the glass is as it were a brightly shining star, lit from a blessed olive-tree, neither eastern nor western, the oil whereof almost gives light though fire touch it not-- light upon light-- Allah guides to His light whom He pleases, and Allah sets forth parables for men, and Allah is Cognizant of all things.(Surah Noor (24), Verse 35)
In the interpretation of this verse, famous Sunni scholar, Ibne Maghazali Shafei in his famous book, al Manaqib writes that Ali bin Ja'far says that I went to Imam Abul Hasan (a.s.) and asked him about this like a 'Niche in which the lamp', to which he replied:
"The niche means Hazrat Fatema (a.s.) and the lamp implies Hazrat Imam Hasan (a.s.) and Hazrat Imam Husain (a.s.). And ?the glass is as it were a brightly shining star? the glass is as it were a brightly shining star refers to Hazrat Fatema (s.a.) who is a shining star among the women of the world. 'Lit from a blessed olive-tree', here the tree means Hazrat Ibrahim (a.s.) and when the verse says 'Neither eastern nor western' means that Ibrahim was neither a Jew nor a Christian. 'The oil whereof almost gives light' means soon knowledge will emanate from it. 'Though fire touch it not - light upon light' means there will be Imams one after another. 'Allah guides to His light whom He pleases' means... whoever Allah wishes guides towards our Mastership and Leadership."(Manaqibe Maghazali pg 317)
This was from a Sunni book; there are a huge number of traditions even in the Shia books. One of them is mentioned hereunder:
Janab Jabir Ibne Abdullah Ansari (r.a.) narrates that when I entered Masjid-e-Kufa, I saw Hazrat Ali (a.s.) was writing something from his fingers and was constantly smiling. Out of curiosity I asked, "What is the reason for this mirth?"
Hazrat Imam Ali (a.s.) answered: "I am amazed at the man who recites this verse and does not recognize it as he ought to recognize it?"
I asked which verse O Amirul Momeneen (a.s.)? He (a.s.) said:
The saying of Allah, 'Allah is the light of the heavens and the earth; a likeness of His light is as a niche' Here 'niche' means Hazrat Mohammad (s.a.w.a.), while I am the lamp, 'in a glass' the glass case means Imam Hasan (a.s.) and Imam Husain (a.s.), 'it were a brightly shining star' means Imam Ali bin Al Husain (a.s.), 'lit from a blessed tree' means Mohammad bin Ali (a.s.), 'olive' means Ja'far bin Mohammad (a.s.), 'neither eastern' means Musa bin Ja'far (a.s.), while 'nor western' means Ali bin Musa (a.s.), 'the oil whereof almost gives light' is Mohammad bin Ali (a.s.) and 'though fire touch it not' is Ali bin Mohammad (a.s.), 'light upon light' is al Hasan bin Ali (a.s.) and 'Allah guides to His light whom He pleases' is Al Qaem Al Mahdi (a.t.f.s.).(Ghaayatul Maraam, by Sayed Hashim Bahrani (r.a.), pg 318)
This tradition was the hidden interpretation of Ayate Noor. Late Shaikh Hadi Tehrani (r.a.) has written a full article on this and named it as 'Resalatul Nooriyah'. Those interested in comprehensive information may refer to this article.
Nevertheless, Allamah Majlisi (r.a.) in chapter 18 has recorded 42 traditions which explains that Infallible Imams (a.s.) are the Light of Allah. For details refer vol 23 pg 304, one of those traditions is mentioned below:
Abu Khalid Kabuli inquired from Hazrat Imam Mohammad Baqir (a.s.) about the verse ?Therefore believe in Allah and His Apostle and the Light which We have revealed ' (Sura Tagabun(64), Verse 8).
Imam (a.s.) replied:
O Abu Khalid! By Allah, Noor in this verse refers to Imams (a.s.) from Aale Mohammad (s.a.w.a.). By Allah till the Day of Judgment, they will be Allah's Light which has been revealed. By Allah they are the Light of Allah in the earth and skies. O Abu Khalid, by Allah the Light of Imam (a.s.) is more illuminated in the heart of the believers than the sun during a bright day. By Allah, they brighten the hearts of the believers. From whomever Allah wishes, He hides His Light, which results in the darkening of their hearts. O Abu Khalid none will love us or accept our wilayat until Allah purifies his heart. And Allah will not cleanse his heart until he submits in front of us. And once he is submissive to us then Allah will protect him from intensive questioning and fear on the Day of Judgment."(Behaarul Anwaar vol 23 pg 308, hadith no 5, narrating from Tafsir Ali bin Ibrahim Qummi)
If Imams (a.s.) are Lights and their light is much more powerful than the physical source of light then, their effects will also be much more intense and significant. Two of those effects have been mentioned in this phrase of the ziyarat.
It is explained that through this Noor people are guided and believers (who are guided) get succor.
The word used in ziyarat is 'faraj'. Traditions have emphasized to await the 'faraj' (the relief). As Hazrat Imam Ja'far Sadiq (a.s.) said:
"Wait for the relief (faraj) and do not despair of Allah's mercy as certainly the most loved action in front of Allah is waiting for the relief."
This hadith clearly indicates that waiting for faraj is a laudable action in front of Allah. While the succor in this world will be attained only and only after the reappearance of Hazrat Imam-e- Zamana (a.t.f.s.), the succor in the hereafter is meant only for those who believe in the mastership and Leadership of the Infallible Imams (a.s.).
However, it should be borne in mind that for spiritual relief external means are not required, but the purification of soul and adherence to Ahle Bait (a.s.) alone is sufficient.
As Imam (a.s.) says in this tradition:"Excessively pray for faraj (relief) for in this (prayer) lies your salvation."

Friday Dua at the Time of Dhuhr
Among the recommended acts on Fridays is that one may say the following prayer at midday as is narrated by Muhammad ibn Muslim on the authority of Imam Ja`far al-Sadiq (peace be upon him). Yet, the following form of the supplication has been quoted from Shaykh al-Tusi’s famous book entitled Misbah al-Mutahajjid:You may then say the following:
Shaykh al-Saduq has narrated that Imam Ja`far al-Sadiq (peace be upon him) said to recite Surah al-Jumu`ah (No. 62) and Surah al-Munafiqun (No. 63) in the Dhuhr (noon) Prayer on Fridays and to recite Surah al-Jumu`ah and Surah al-Tawhid in the `Asr (afternoon) Prayer.
Friday Surahs and Duas After Salaat-ul Dhuhr
Shaykh al-Tusi has quoted Imam Ja`far al-Sadiq (peace be upon him) as saying: Whoever recites on Friday after the concluding part of the Dhuhr Prayer the following parts of the Holy Qur'an, will be under the divine protection all over the week:(1) Surah al-Fatihah seven times, (2) Surah al-Nas seven times, (3) Surah al-Falaq seven times, (4) Surah al-Tawhid seven times, (5) Surah al-Kafirun seven times, then; (6) last two verses of Surah al-Tawbah (No. 9)

Imam Ja`far al-Sadiq (peace be upon him) is also reported to have said: If one says the following prayer after the Dhuhr Prayer 3 times, will remain secure from affliction until next friday and no sin will be recorded against him for a whole year:
Imam Ja`far al-Sadiq (peace be upon him) is also reported to have said: If one says the following supplicatory prayer after the Fajr Prayer or the Dhuhr Prayer (on Fridays), he will not die before he catches the age of Imam al-Mahdi (peace be upon him):
Friday 2 Rakat Salat, after Salaat-ul Dhuhr In his book of Misbah al-Mutahajjid, Shaykh al-Tusi says that the Holy Imams, peace be upon them, are reported to have said: When one offers, after the obligatory Dhuhr Prayer on Fridays, a two-unit prayer reciting in each unit Surah al-Fatihah once and repeating Surah al-Tawhid seven times and after accomplishment says the following prayer, one will be saved against all misfortunes and seditious matters up to the next Friday, and will be joined with Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him and his Household, and Prophet Abraham, peace be upon him:
Commenting on this supplication, Shaykh al-Tusi instructs that one who is not from the Holy Prophet’s offspring should say, “his father (abihi)” instead of “our father (abina).”
Friday Duas after Salaat-ul 'Asr
It has been narrated that the best hours of Fridays are these coming after the `Asr Prayer. Accordingly, it is recommended to repeat the following invocation one hundred times at that time:Imam Ja`far al-Sadiq (peace be upon him) is reported as saying:
i)To invoke Almighty Allah’s blessings upon the Prophet and his Household in the time between the Dhuhr and `Asr Prayers (on Fridays) is equal (in reward) to seventy rakats.
ii)One who says the following invocation after the `Asr Prayer on Fridays will be awarded the reward of the righteous deeds of all men and jinn on that day:
iii)One who repeats this invocation ten times immediately after the `Asr Prayer on Fridays will receive the blessings of the angels up to the next Friday and the very hour.
Adding to this, Shaykh al-Tusi says that it is recommended to repeat the following invocation one hundred times at that time:
In al-Kafi, Shaykh al-Kulayni has narrated the following: When you complete the `Asr Prayer on Friday, say the following invocation.Almighty Allah will record for him one hundred thousand rewards, erase one hundred thousand of his evildoings, grant him one hundred thousand requests, and elevate him one hundred thousand ranks:
He adds that if one repeats the same invocation seven times, Almighty Allah will give him rewards as many as His servants, accept his deeds on that day, and place light between his eyes on the Resurrection Day.
It is recommended to repeat seventy times after the `Asr Prayer so that sins will be forgiven:
Recite Dua Marefat-Allahumma Arrifni
Sayyid Ibn Tawus in his book of Jamal al-Usbu` mentions the dua of marefat of Imam Mahdi(ajtfs) after the `Asr Prayers on FridaysReported from Imam al-Sadiq (peace be upon him) who said: If you wish to please Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad (peace be upon them all) you may say the following invocation:

It is recommended to recite Surah al-Qadr (No. 97) one hundred times. Imam Musa al-Kadhim (peace be upon him) is reported as saying: On Fridays, Almighty Allah has one thousand gifts of mercy. He grants a servant whatever number He wills. Thus, He grants the servant who recites Surah al-Qadr one hundred times after the `Asr Prayer on Fridays all these gifts and their like.

One of these prayers preferred for Friday is al-Salat al-Kamilah (The Perfect Prayer) that has been mentioned by many master scholars through numerous authentic series of reporters from Imam Ja`far al-Sadiq (peace be upon him) on the authority of his honorable fathers on the authority of the Holy Prophet—Allah’s peace and blessings be upon them all.

Therefore, it is required to pray to Almighty Allah insistently at that hour. It has been also narrated that this hour begins when half of the sun disk sets and the other half only remains visible. Lady Fatimah al-Zahra' (peace be upon her), used to pray to Almighty Allah at this hour so that her prayers be answered. It is recommended to recite before sunset the famous prayer known as Du`a' al-Simat ( Shabbour)
