Salwaat on the Holy Prophet (saws) after Asr on Friday
بِسْمِ الله الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيمِ
Bismillāh al-Raḥmān al-Raḥīm
In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate
اَللَّهُمَ إِنَّ مُحَمَّدَاً كَمَا وَصَفْتَهُ في كِتَابكَ
Allāhumma inna Muḥammadan kamā waṣaftahu fī kitābik
O Allah, indeed Muhammad is as You described him in Your Book
حَيْثُ تَقُولُ ﴿لَقَدْ جاءَكُمْ رَسُولٌ مِنْ أَنْفُسِكُمْ﴾
Ḥaythu taqūlu (Laqad jā’akum rasūlun min anfusikum)
Where You say, "There has come to you a Messenger from among yourselves"
عَزِيزٌ عَلَيْهِ مَا عَنِتُّمْ حَرِيصٌ عَلَيْكُمْ
‘Azīzun ‘alayhi mā ‘anittum ḥarīṣun ‘alaykum
It grieves him that you should perish; he is deeply concerned for you
بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ رَؤُوفٌ رَحِيمٌ
Bil-mu’minīna ra’ūfun raḥīm
To the believers, he is compassionate and merciful
فَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّهُ كَذلِكَ
Fa-ashhadu annahu kadhālika
So I bear witness that he is as You described him
وَأَنَّكَ لَمْ تَأْمُرْ بِالصَّلاَةِ عَلَيْهِ
Wa annaka lam ta’mur bi-ṣṣalāti ‘alayh
And that You did not command prayers upon him,
إلاَّ بَعْدَ أَنْ صَلَّيْتَ عَلَيْهِ أَنْتَ وَمَلاَئِكَتُكَ
Illā ba‘da an ṣallayta ‘alayhi anta wa malā’ikatuk
Except after You and Your angels prayed upon him
وَأَنْزَلْتَ فِي مُحْكَمِ قُرْآنِكَ ﴿إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَمَلائِكَتَهُ﴾
Wa anzalta fī muḥkam Qur’ānika (Inna Allāha wa malā’ikatuhu)
And You revealed in Your clear Qur’an, "Indeed, Allah and His angels"
يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﴾
Yuṣallūna ‘ala al-nabiyy
Send blessings upon the Prophet
يا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا صَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ وَسَلِّمُوا تَسْلِيماً
Yā ayyuhā alladhīna āmanū ṣallū ‘alayhi wa sallimū taslīmā
O you who have believed, ask [Allah to confer] blessing upon him and ask [Allah to grant him] peace
لاَ لِحَاجَةٍ إِلى صَلاَةِ أحَدٍ
Lā li-ḥājatin ilā ṣalāti aḥadin
Not out of need for the prayer of any of the creatures,
مِنْ المَخْلُوقِينَ بَعدَ صَلاتِكَ عَلَيْهِ
Min al-makhlūqīn ba‘da ṣalātik ‘alayh
From the created beings after Your prayer upon him,
وَلاَ إِلَى تَزْكِيَتِهِمْ إِيَّاهُ بَعْدَ تَزْكِيَتِكَ
Wa lā ilā tazkiyatihim iyyāh ba‘da tazkiyatika
Nor to their purifying him after Your purification of him,
بَلِ الْخَلْقُ جَميِعاً هُمْ الْمُحْتَاجُونَ إلى ذلِكَ
Bal al-khalqu jamī‘an hum al-muḥtājūn ilā dhālik
Rather, all creatures are in need of that
لأَنَّكَ جَعَلْتُهُ بَابَكَ الَّذِي
Li’annaka ja‘altahu bābaka alladhī
Because You made him Your door,
لاَ تَقْبَلُ مِمَّنْ أَتَاكَ إِلاَّ مِنْهُ
Lā taqbal min man atāk illā minhu
From which You do not accept anyone except through him
وَجَعَلْتَ الصَّلاَةِ عَلَيْهِ قُرْبَةً مِنْكَ
Wa ja‘alta al-ṣalāti ‘alayh qurba minnak
And You made the prayer upon him a means of drawing near to You,
وَوَسِيلَةً إِلَيْكَ وَزُلْفَةً عِنْدَكَ
Wa wasīlatan ilayk wa zulfa ‘indak
And a means to You and a closeness in Your presence
وَدَلَلْتَ المُؤْمِنِينَ عَلَيْه وَأَمْرتهم بِالصَلاةِ عَلَيْهِ
Wa dalalta al-mu’minīn ‘alayh wa amartahum bi-ṣṣalāti ‘alayh
And You guided the believers to him and commanded them to pray upon him,
لِيَزْدَادُوا أَثْرَةً لَدَيْكَ وَكَرَامَةً عَلَيْكَ
Li-yazdādū athratan ladayka wa karāmatan ‘alayk
So they may increase in preference with You and honor in Your sight
وَوَكَّلْتَ بِالْمُصَلِّينَ عَلَيْهِ ملاَئِكَتَكَ
Wa wakalta bi-al-muṣallīn ‘alayh malā’ikatak
And You entrusted Your angels with those who pray upon him,
يُصَلُّونَ عَلَيْهِ وَيُبَلِّغُونَهُ صَلَواتِهمْ
Yuṣallūna ‘alayhi wa yuballighūnahu ṣalawātihim
They pray upon him and convey their prayers to him,
Wa taslīmahum
And their greetings of peace
اَللّهُمَّ رَبَّ مُحَّمَدٍ صَلّى اللهُ عَليهِ وَآلِهِ
Allāhumma rabba Muḥammad ṣallā Allāhu ‘alayh wa ālih
O Allah, the Lord of Muhammad, may Allah’s blessings be upon him and his family
فَإِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِمَا عَظَّمْتَ مِنْ أَمْرِ مُحَّمَدٍ
Fa-innī as’aluka bimā ‘aẓẓamta min amri Muḥammad
Indeed, I ask You by what You have magnified of the matter of Muhammad,
وَأَوْجَبْتَ مِنْ حَقِّهِ
Wa awjabta min ḥaqqih
And what You have made obligatory of his right,
أَنْ تُطْلِقَ لِسَانِي مِنَ الصَّلاَةِ عَلَيْهِ
An tuṭliqa lisānī mina al-ṣalāti ‘alayh
That You set my tongue free to pray upon him,
Bimā tuḥibb wa tarḍā
In what You love and are pleased with,
وَبِمَا لَمْ تُطْلِقْ بِهِ لِسَانَ أَحَدٍ
Wa bimā lam tuṭliq bihi lisān aḥad
And in what You have not set free the tongue of anyone,
مِنْ خَلْقِكَ وَلَمْ تُعْطِهِ إِيَّاهُ
Min khalqika wa lam tu‘ṭihi iyyāh
From Your creation, and have not granted him
ثُمَّ تُؤْتِيِنِي عَلَى ذلِكَ مُرَافَقَتَهُ
Thumma tu’tīnī ‘alā dhālik murāfaqatih
Then grant me, through that, his companionship,
حَيْثُ أَحْلَلْتَهُ عَلَى قُدْسِكَ
Ḥaythu aḥlaltahu ‘alā qudsik
Where You have placed him in Your sanctity,
Wa jannāti firdawsik
And the gardens of Your paradise
ثُمَّ لاَ تُفَرِّقْ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَهُ
Thumma lā tufarriq baynī wa baynah
Then do not separate me from him
اَللّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَبْدَأُ بِالشَّهَادَةِ لَهُ
Allāhumma innī abda’u bi-al-shahādati lah
O Allah, I begin with bearing witness to him,
ثُمَّ بِالصَّلاَةِ عَلَيْهِ
Thumma bi-al-ṣalāti ‘alayh
Then with the prayer upon him,
وَإِنْ كُنْتُ لاَ أَبْلُغُ مِنْ ذلِكَ رِضى نَفْسِي
Wa in kuntu lā ablughu min dhālik riḍā nafsī
And if I do not reach, through that, the satisfaction of myself,
وَلاَ يُعَبّرُهُ لِسَاني عَنْ ضَمِيري
Wa lā yu‘abbiruhu lisānī ‘an ḍamīrī
Nor my tongue expresses what is in my heart,
ولاَ أُلاَمُ عَلَى التَّقْصِير مِنّي
Wa lā ulāmu ‘ala al-taqṣīr minnī
Nor am I blamed for my shortcoming,
لِعَجْزِ قُدْرَتِي عَنْ بُلُوغِ الْوَاجِبِ عَلَيَّ
Li-‘ajz qudratī ‘an bulūgh al-wājib ‘alayy
Due to my inability to fulfill what is obligatory upon me,
مِنْهُ لأَنَّهُ حَظُّ لِي
Minhu li-annahu ḥaẓẓun lī
From him, because it is my portion,
وَحَقٌ عَلَيَّ وَأَدَاءٌ لِمَا أَوْجَبْتَ
Wa ḥaqqun ‘alayy wa adā’un limā awjabta
And a right upon me and fulfillment of what You have made obligatory,
لَهُ فِي عُنُقِي أَنْ بَلَّغَ رِسَالاَتِكَ
Lah fī ‘unuqī an ballagha risālātik
To him, as he conveyed Your messages,
غَيْرَ مُفَرِّطٍ فيمَا أَمْرَتَ
Ghayra mufarriṭin fīmā amrata
Without neglecting what You commanded,
وَلاَ مُجَاوِزٍ لِمَا نَهَيْتَ
Wa lā mujāwizin limā nahayt
Nor exceeding what You prohibited,
وَلاَ مُقَصِّرٍ فِيمَا أَرَدَتَ
Wa lā muqaṣṣirin fīmā aradt
Nor falling short in what You desired,
وَلاَ مُتَعَدٍّ لِمَا أَوْصَيْتَ
Wa lā muta‘addin limā awṣayt
Nor transgressing what You advised
وَتَلا آيَاتِكَ عَلَى مَا أَنْزَلْتَ
Wa talā āyātik ‘alā mā anzalta
And he recited Your verses as You revealed them,
إِلَيهِ وَحْيَكَ وَجَاهَدَ فِي سَبِيلِكَ
Ilayh waḥyik wa jāhada fī sabīlik
To him, Your revelation, and he strived in Your cause,
مُقْبِلاً غَيْرَ مُدْبِرٍ
Muqbilan ghayra mudbirin
Advancing, not retreating,
وَفَى بِعَهْدِكَ وَصَدَّقَ وَعْدَكَ
Wa fā bi-‘ahdika wa ṣaddaqa wa‘daka
Fulfilling Your covenant and confirming Your promise,
وَصَدَعَ بِأَمْرِكَ لاَ يَخَافُ فِيكَ لَوْمَةَ لاَئِمٍ
Wa ṣada‘a bi-amrika lā yakhāfu fīka lawmata lā’im
And he proclaimed Your command, not fearing the blame of any critic
وَبَاعَدَ فِيكَ الأَقْرَبِينَ وَقَرَّبَ فِيكَ الأَبْعَدِينَ
Wa bā‘ada fīka al-aqrabīn wa qarraba fīka al-ab‘adīn
And he distanced for Your sake the nearest and brought near for Your sake the farthest
وَأَمَرَ بطَاعَتِكَ وَأْتُمِرَ بِهَا
Wa amara bi-ṭā‘atika wa ‘utimira bihā
And he commanded with Your obedience and was commanded by it,
Sirrān wa ‘alāniyatan
In secret and in public
وَنَهَى عَنْ مَعْصِيَتِكَ وَانْتَهَى عَنْهَا
Wa nahā ‘an ma‘ṣīyatik wa intahā ‘anhā
And he forbade Your disobedience and refrained from it
وَدَلَّ عَلَى مَحَاسِنِ الأَخْلاَقِ وَأَخَذَ بِهَا
Wa dalla ‘ala maḥāsin al-akhlāq wa akhadha bihā
And he guided to good manners and adhered to them,
وَنَهَى عَنْ مَسَاوِي الأَخْلاَقِ وَرَغِبَ عَنْهَا
Wa nahā ‘an masāwī al-akhlāq wa raghaba ‘anhā
And he forbade bad manners and abstained from them
وَوَالى أَوْلِيَاءَكَ بِالَّذِي تُحِبُّ
Wa wālā awliyā’aka bi-alladhī tuḥibb
And he befriended Your allies with what You love,
أَنْ يُوَالَوا بِهِ قَوْلاً وَعَمَلاً
An yuwālā bihī qawlan wa ‘amalan
To be befriended in word and deed
وَدَعَا إلى سَبيِلكَ بِالْحِكْمَةِ وَالمَوْعِظَةِ الْحَسَنَةِ
Wa da‘ā ilā sabīlik bi-al-ḥikmati wa al-maw‘iẓati al-ḥasana
And he called to Your way with wisdom and good counsel,
وَعَبَدَك مُخْلِصاً حَتّى أَتَاهُ الْيَقِينُ
Wa ‘abadaka mukhliṣan ḥattā atāhu al-yaqīn
And he worshiped You sincerely until certainty came to him,
فَقَبَضْتَهُ إِلَيْكَ تقِيَّاً نَقِيَّاً زَكِيّاً
Fa-qabaḍtahu ilayk taqiyyan naqiyyan zakiyya
And You took him to Yourself, pious, pure, and righteous,
قَدْ أًكْمَلْتَ بِهِ الدِّينَ وَأَتْمَمْتَ بِهِ النَّعِيمَ
Qad akmalt bihi al-dīn wa atmamta bihi al-na‘īm
Having completed the religion through him and perfected the blessings through him,
وَظَاهَرْتَ بِهِ الْحُجَجَ
Wa ẓāharta bihi al-ḥujaj
And manifested the proofs through him,
وَشَرَعْتَ بِهِ شَرَائِعَ الإِسْلاَمِ
Wa shara‘ta bihi sharā’i‘ al-Islām
And established the laws of Islam through him,
وَفَصَّلْتَ بِهِ الحَلاَلَ عَنِ الْحَرَامِ
Wa faṣṣalta bihi al-ḥalāl ‘an al-ḥarām
And distinguished the lawful from the unlawful through him,
وَنَهَجْتَ بِهِ لِخَلْقِكَ صِرَاطَكَ الْمُسْتَقِيمَ
Wa nahajta bihi li-khalqik ṣirāṭaka al-mustaqīm
And guided Your creation through him to Your straight path,
وَبَيَّنْتَ بِهِ الْعَلاَمَاتِ وَالنُّجُومَ
Wa bayyanta bihi al-‘alāmāt wa al-nujūm
And clarified through him the signs and stars,
Alladhī bihi yahtadūn
By which they are guided
وَلَمْ تَدَعْهُمْ بَعْدَهُ فِي عَمْيَاءَ
Wa lam tada‘hum ba‘dahu fī ‘amyā’
And You did not leave them in blindness after him,
يَهِيمُونَ وَلاَ فِي شُبْهَةٍ يَتِيهُونَ
Yahīmūna wa lā fī shubhah yatīhūn
Wandering in confusion, nor in doubt
وَلَمْ تَكِلْهُمْ إِلى النَّظَرِ لأَنْفُسِهمْ
Wa lam takilhum ilā al-naẓar li-anfusihim
And You did not leave them to their own views in their religion,
فِي دِينِهِمْ بِآرَائِهِمْ
Fī dīnihim bi-āra’ihim
According to their opinions,
وَلاَ التَّخَيُّرِ مِنْهُمْ بِأَهْوائِهِمْ
Wa lā al-takhayyur minhum bi-ahwā’ihim
Nor their choosing according to their desires,
فَيَتَشَعَّبُونَ فِي مُدْلَهِمَّاتِ الْبِدَعِ
Faytasha‘abūna fī mudlahimāt al-bida‘
Lest they be divided into the darkness of innovations,
وَيَتَحَّيُرونَ فِي مُطْبِقَاتِ الظُّلَمِ
Wa yataḥayyirūna fī muṭbiqāt al-ẓulum
And be confounded in the overwhelming darkness,
وَتَتَفَرَّقُ بِهِمُ السُّبُلُ فِيمَا يَعْلَمُونَ
Wa tatafarraqu bihim al-subul fīmā ya‘lamūn
And the paths diverge for them in what they know
وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّهُ تَوَلَى مِنَ الدُّنْيا
Wa ashhadu annahu tawallā min al-dunyā
And I bear witness that he departed from this world,
رَاضِياً عَنْكَ مَرْضِيّاً عِنْدَكَ مَحْمُوداً
Rāḍiyān ‘anka marḍiyān ‘indaka maḥmūdān
Pleased with You, and You pleased with him, praiseworthy
فِي الْمُقَرَّبينَ وَأَنْبِيَائِكَ الْمُرْسَليِنَ
Fī al-muqarrabīn wa anbiyā’ika al-mursalīn
Among the near ones, and Your prophets, the messengers,
وَعِبَادِكَ الصَّالِحِينَ الْمُصْطَفَيْنَ
Wa ‘ibādika al-ṣāliḥīn al-muṣṭafayn
And Your righteous chosen servants,
وَأَنَّهُ غَيْرُ مُلِيمٍ وَلاَ ذَمِيمٍ
Wa annahu ghayru mulīm wa lā dhamīm
And he is not blameworthy nor disgraceful,
وَأَنَّهُ لَمْ يَكُنْ مِنْ الْمُتَكَلِّفِينَ
Wa annahu lam yakun min al-mutakallifīn
And he was not among those who pretend,
وَأَنَّهُ لَمْ يَكُنْ سَاحِراً وَلاَ سُحِرَ لَهُ
Wa annahu lam yakun sāḥirā wa lā suḥira lah
And he was not a magician, nor was he bewitched,
وَلاَ كَاهِناً وَلاَ تُكُهِّنَ لَهُ
Wa lā kāhinan wa lā tuku’hina lah
Nor a soothsayer, nor was soothsaying done for him,
وَلاَ شَاعِراً وَلاَ شُعِّرَ لَهُ
Wa lā shā‘iran wa lā shu’‘ira lah
Nor a poet, nor was poetry composed for him,
وَلاَ كَذَّاباً وَأَنَّهُ كَانَ رَسُولَكَ
Wa lā kadhdhābā wa annahu kāna rasūlak
Nor a liar, and indeed he was Your messenger,
Wa khātama al-nabiyyīn
And the seal of the prophets,
جَاءَ بِالْحَقِّ مِنْ عِنْدِكَ
Jā’a bil-ḥaqq min ‘indika
Who brought the truth from You,
Wa ṣaddaqa al-mursalīn
And confirmed the messengers
وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ الَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوهُ
Wa ashhadu anna alladhīna kadhdhabooh
And I bear witness that those who denied him,
ذَائِقُو الْعَذَابِ الأَلِيمِ
Dhā’iqū al-‘adhābi al-alīm
Will taste the painful punishment
وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مَا أَتَانَا بِهِ مِنْ عِنْدِكَ
Wa ashhadu anna mā atānā bihi min ‘indika
And I bear witness that what he brought to us from You,
وَأَخْبَرَنَا بِهِ عَنْكَ أَنَّهُ الْحَقُّ الْيَقِينُ
Wa akhbaranā bihi ‘anka annahu al-ḥaqq al-yaqīn
And informed us about You is the absolute truth,
لاَ شَكَّ فِيهِ مِنْ رَبِّ العَالَمِين
Lā shakk fīhi min rabbi al-‘ālamīn
There is no doubt in it from the Lord of the worlds
اَللّهُمَّ فَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَّمَدٍ
Allāhumma faṣalli ‘alā Muḥammad
O Allah, so bless Muhammad,
عَبْدِكَ وَرَسُولِكَ وَنَبِيِّكَ وَوَلِيِّكَ
‘Abdika wa rasūlika wa nabiyyika wa waliyyika
Your servant, Your messenger, Your prophet, and Your chosen one,
وَنَجِيِّكَ وَصَفيِّكَ وَصَفْوَتِكَ وَخِيَرَتِكَ
Wa najīyyika wa ṣafiyyika wa ṣafwatika wa khīratika
Your confidant, Your chosen one, Your pure one, and Your elite,
مِنْ خَلْقِكَ الَّذي انْتَجْبَتْهُ لِرِسَالاَتِكَ
Min khalqik alladhī intajabtahu li-risālātik
From Your creation, the one You chose for Your messages,
وَاسْتَخْلَصْتَهُ لَدينِكَ
Wa istakhlaṣtahu li-dīnik
And selected him for Your religion,
وَاسْتَرْعَيْتَهُ عِبَادَكَ وأْتَمَنْتَهُ عَلى وَحْيِكَ
Wa istar‘aytahu ‘ibādak wa atmantahu ‘ala waḥyik
And entrusted him with Your servants and Your revelation
عَلَمِ الْهُدَى وَبَابِ النُّهى
‘Alam al-hudā wa bāb al-nuhā
The flag of guidance and the gate of wisdom,
وَالْعُرْوَةِ الْوُثْقى فِيمَا بَيْنَكَ وَبَيْنَ خَلْقِكَ
Wa al-‘urwati al-wuthqā fīmā baynak wa bayna khalqik
And the firm handle between You and Your creation,
الشَّاهِدِ لَهُمْ الْمُهَيْمِنِ عَلَيْهِمْ
Al-shāhid lahum al-muhaymin ‘alayhim
The witness over them, the guardian over them,
أَشْرَفَ وَأَفْضَلَ وَأَزْكَى وَأَطَهْرَ
Ashraf wa afḍal wa azkā wa aṭhar
The most noble, the best, the purest, and the cleanest,
وَأَنْمَى وَأَطْيَبَ مَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَى أَحَدٍ
Wa anmā wa aṭyab mā ṣallayta ‘alā aḥad
And the most elevated and the best of what You have prayed upon anyone,
مِنْ خَلْقِكِ وَأَنْبِيَائِكَ وَرُسُلِكَ
Min khalqik wa anbiyā’ika wa rusulik
From Your creation, Your prophets, and Your messengers,
وَأَصْفِيَائِكَ وَالْمُخْلِصِينَ مِنَ عِبَادِكَ
Wa aṣfiyā’ik wa al-mukhliṣīn min ‘ibādik
And Your chosen ones, and the sincere among Your servants
اَللّهُمَّ وَاجْعَلْ صَلَواتِكَ وَغُفْرَانَكَ
Allāhumma wa aj‘al ṣalawātik wa ghufrānak
O Allah, and make Your blessings and forgiveness,
وَرِضْوَانَكَ وَمُعَافَاتَكَ وَكَرَامَتَكَ وَرَحْمَتَكَ
Wa riḍwānak wa mu‘āfātak wa karāmatak wa raḥmatak
And Your pleasure, well-being, honor, and mercy,
وَمَنَّكَ وَفَضْلَكَ وَسَلاَمَكَ وَشَرَفَكَ
Wa mannak wa faḍlak wa salāmak wa sharafak
And Your grace, bounty, peace, and glory,
وَإِعْظَامَكَ وَتَبْجِيلَكَ وَصَلَواتِ مَلاَئِكَتِكَ
Wa i‘ẓāmak wa tabjīlak wa ṣalawāt malā’ikatak
And Your exaltation, reverence, and the prayers of Your angels,
وَرُسُلِكَ وَأَنْبِياَئِكَ وَالأَوْصِيَاءِ وَالشُّهَدَاءِ
Wa rusulik wa anbiyā’ik wa al-awṣiyā’ wa al-shuhadā’
And Your messengers, prophets, successors, and martyrs,
وَالصِّدّيِقينَ منْ عِبَادِكَ الصَّالحين
Wa al-ṣiddīqīn min ‘ibādik al-ṣāliḥīn
And the truthful among Your righteous servants,
وَحَسُنَ أُولئِكَ رَفيقَاً
Wa ḥasuna ūlā’ika rafīqā
And what excellent companions they are,
وَأَهْلِ السَّماوَاتِ وَالأَرَضِينَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا
Wa ahl al-samāwāt wa al-arḍīn wa mā baynahumā
And the inhabitants of the heavens and the earth and what is between them,
وَمَا فَوْقَهُمَا وَمَا تَحْتَهَما
Wa mā fawqahumā wa mā taḥtahumā
And what is above them and what is below them,
وِ مِا بَيْنَ الخَافِقِيْنِ وَمَا بَيْنَ الهَوَاءِ
Wa mā bayna al-khāfiqīn wa mā bayna al-hawā’
And what is between the horizons and what is in the air,
وَالْشَّمْسِ وَالقَمَرِ وَالنُّجُوم وَالْجِبَالِ
Wa al-shams wa al-qamar wa al-nujūm wa al-jibāl
And the sun, the moon, the stars, and the mountains,
وَالشَّجَرِ وَالدَّوابِّ وَمَا سَبَحَّ لَكَ
Wa al-shajar wa al-dawābb wa mā sabaḥ laka
And the trees, the animals, and what glorifies You,
فِي البِرّ وَالْبَحْرِ وَفِي الْظُّلْمَةِ
Fī al-birr wa al-baḥr wa fī al-ẓulma
In the land, the sea, and in the darkness,
وَالْضِيَاءِ بَالْغُدُوِ وَالآصَالِ
Wa al-ḍiyā’ bil-ghudūwi wa al-āṣāl
And in the light, in the mornings and the evenings,
وَفِي آنَاءِ اللَّيْلِ وَأَطْرَافِ النَّهَارِ وَسَاعَاِتِه
Wa fī ānā’ al-layl wa aṭrāf al-nahār wa sā‘ātih
And in the hours of the night and the parts of the day and its hours,
عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ
‘Alā Muḥammad ibn ‘Abdillāh
Upon Muhammad, son of ‘Abdullāh,
سَيّدِ الْمُرْسَلِينَ وَخَاتَمِ النَّبِيّينَ
Sayyid al-mursalīn wa khātam al-nabiyyīn
The master of the messengers and the seal of the prophets,
وَإِمَامِ الْمُتَّقِينَ وَمَوْلَى الْمُؤْمِنينَ
Wa imām al-muttaqīn wa mawlā al-mu’minīn
The leader of the pious and the protector of the believers,
وَوَلِيِّ الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَقَائِدِ الْغُرِّ الْمُحَجَّلِينَ
Wa waliyy al-muslimīn wa qā’id al-ghurr al-muḥajjilīn
The guardian of the Muslims and the leader of the radiant ones,
وَرَسُولِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ
Wa rasūl rabbi al-‘ālamīn
The messenger of the Lord of the worlds,
مِنَ الْجِنِّ وَالإِنْسِ وَالأَعْجَمِينَ
Min al-jinn wa al-ins wa al-a‘jamīn
From among the jinn, humans, and the non-Arabs,
وَالشَّاهِدِ الْبَشِيرِ وَالأَمِينِ النَّذِيرِ
Wa al-shāhid al-bashīr wa al-amīn al-nadhīr
The witness, the bringer of good news, the trustworthy warner,
وَالدَّاعِي إِلَيْكَ بَإِذْنِكَ
Wa al-dā‘ī ilayka bi-idhnik
The caller to You by Your permission,
Al-sirāj al-munīr
The illuminating lamp,
اَللّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
Allāhumma ṣalli ‘alā Muḥammad wa āl Muḥammad
O Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad,
فِي الأَوَّلِينَ وَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ
Fī al-awwalīn wa ṣalli ‘alā Muḥammad
Among the first ones, and bless Muhammad,
وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ فِي الآخِرينَ
Wa āl Muḥammad fī al-ākhirīn
And the family of Muhammad among the last ones,
وَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ يَوْمَ الدِّينِ
Wa ṣalli ‘alā Muḥammad wa āl Muḥammad yawma al-dīn
And bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad on the Day of Judgment,
يَوْمَ يَقُومُ النَّاسُ لِرَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ
Yawma yaqūmu al-nās li-rabbi al-‘ālamīn
The day when people will stand before the Lord of the worlds
اَللّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
Allāhumma ṣalli ‘alā Muḥammad wa āl Muḥammad
O Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad,
كَمَا اسْتَنْقَذْتَنَا بِهِ
Kamā istanqadhtanā bih
As You saved us through him,
اَللّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ كَمَا كَرَّمْتَنَا بِهِ
Allāhumma ṣalli ‘alā Muḥammad kamā karramtanā bih
O Allah, bless Muhammad as You honored us through him,
اَللّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ كَمَا كَثَّرْتَنَا بِهِ
Allāhumma ṣalli ‘alā Muḥammad kamā kaththartanā bih
O Allah, bless Muhammad as You increased us through him,
اَللّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
Allāhumma ṣalli ‘alā Muḥammad wa āl Muḥammad
O Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad,
Kamā thabbatthanā bih
As You established us through him,
اَللّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
Allāhumma ṣalli ‘alā Muḥammad wa āl Muḥammad
O Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad,
Kamā an‘ashtanā bih
As You revived us through him,
اَللّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
Allāhumma ṣalli ‘alā Muḥammad wa āl Muḥammad
O Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad,
Kamā aḥyaytanā bih
As You gave us life through him,
اَللّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
Allāhumma ṣalli ‘alā Muḥammad wa āl Muḥammad
O Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad,
Kamā sharaftanā bih
As You honored us through him,
اَللّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
Allāhumma ṣalli ‘alā Muḥammad wa āl Muḥammad
O Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad,
Kamā a‘azzatanā bih
As You strengthened us through him,
اَللّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ
Allāhumma ṣalli ‘alā Muḥammad
O Allah, bless Muhammad,
Kamā faḍḍaltanā bih
As You favored us through him,
اَللّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
Allāhumma ṣalli ‘alā Muḥammad wa āl Muḥammad
O Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad,
Kamā raḥimtanā bih
As You had mercy on us through him,
اَللّهُمَّ أَجْزِ نَبِيَّنَا مُحَمَّداً
Allāhumma ajzi nabiyyinā Muḥammad
O Allah, reward our Prophet Muhammad,
صَلّى اللهُ عَليهِ وَآلِهِ
Ṣallā Allāhu ‘alayh wa ālih
May Allah's blessings be upon him and his family,
أَفْضَلَ مَا أَنْتَ جَازٍ يَوْمَ الْقِيامَةِ
Afaḍḍal mā anta jāzin yawma al-qiyāmah
The best that You reward on the Day of Resurrection,
Nabīyan ‘an ummatih
A prophet on behalf of his community,
وَرَسُولاً عَمَّنْ أَرْسَلْتَهُ إِلَيْهِ
Wa rasūlan ‘amman arsaltahu ilayh
And a messenger on behalf of those You sent him to,
اَللّهُمَّ اخْصُصْهُ بِأَفْضَلِ قِسَمِ الْفَضَائِلِ
Allāhumma ikhṣuṣhu bi-afḍal qisma al-faḍā’il
O Allah, grant him the best share of virtues,
وَبَلّغْهُ أَعْلَى شَرَفِ الْمُكَرَّمِينَ
Wa ballighhu a‘lā sharaf al-mukarramīn
And elevate him to the highest rank of the honored ones,
مِنَ الدَّرَجَاتِ الْعُلى
Min al-darajāt al-‘ulā
From the highest degrees,
وَأَعْلى عِلِّيِّينَ فِي جَنَّاتٍ وَنَهَرٍ
Wa a‘lā ‘illiyyīn fī jannāt wa nahr
And the highest levels in the gardens and rivers,
فِي مَقْعَدِ صِدْقٍٍ عِنْدَ مَلِيكٍ مُقْتَدِرٍ
Fī maq‘ad ṣidqin ‘inda malīkin muqtadir
In the seat of truth, near a sovereign, omnipotent
اَللّهُمَّ أَعْطِ مُحَمَّداً حَتّى يَرْضَى
Allāhumma a‘ṭi Muḥammad ḥattā yarḍā
O Allah, grant Muhammad until he is satisfied,
Wa zidhu ba‘da al-riḍā
And increase him after satisfaction,
وَاجْعَلْهُ أَكْرَمَ خَلْقِكَ مِنْكَ مَجْلِساً
Wa aj‘alhu akram khalqik minka majlisan
And make him the most honored of Your creation in Your presence,
وَأَعْظَمَهُمْ عِنْدَكَ جَاهاً
Wa a‘ẓamahum ‘indaka jāhan
And the greatest in status with You,
وَأَوْفَرَهُمْ عِنْدَكَ حَظّاً
Wa awfarahum ‘indaka ḥaẓẓan
And the most abundant in fortune with You,
فِي كُلِّ خَيْرٍ أَنْتَ قَاسِمُهُ بَيْنَهُمُ
Fī kulli khayrin anta qāsimuhu baynahum
In every good that You distribute among them
اَللّهُمَّ أَوْرِدْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ ذُرّيَّتِهِ وَأَزْوَاجِهِ
Allāhumma awrid ‘alayhi min dhurriyyatihi wa azwājih
O Allah, present to him from his descendants and his spouses,
وَأَهْلِ بَيْتِهِ وَذَوي قَرَابَتِهِ
Wa ahl baytih wa dhawi qarābatih
And his family and close relatives,
وَأُمَّتِهِ مَنْ تَقِرُّ بِهِ عَيْنُهُ
Wa ummatih man taqirru bihi ‘aynah
And his community, those who bring delight to his eyes,
وَأَقْرِرْ عُيُونَنَا بِرُؤْيَتِهِ
Wa aqirr ‘uyūnanā bi-ru’yatih
And grant our eyes delight by seeing him,
وَلاَ تُفَرِّقْ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَهُ
Wa lā tufarriq baynanā wa baynah
And do not separate us from him
اَللّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
Allāhumma ṣalli ‘alā Muḥammad wa āl Muḥammad
O Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad,
وَأَعْطِهِ مِنَ الْوَسِيلَةِ وَالْفَضِيلَةِ
Wa a‘ṭihi min al-wasīlat wa al-faḍīlat
And grant him the means and the virtue,
وَالشَّرَفِ وَالْكَرَامَةِ
Wa al-sharaf wa al-karāmat
And the honor and dignity,
مَا يَغْبِطُ بِهِ الْمَلائِكَةُ الْمُقَرَّبُونَ
Mā yaghibiṭu bihi al-malā’ikatu al-muqarrabūn
That the closest angels envy,
وَالنَّبِيُّونَ والْمُرْسَلُونَ وَالْخَلْقُ أَجْمَعُونَ
Wa al-nabiyyūn wa al-mursalūn wa al-khalqu ajma‘ūn
And the prophets, the messengers, and all creation
اَللّهُمَّ بَيِّضْ وَجْهَهُ وَأَعْلِ كَعْبَهُ
Allāhumma bayyiḍ wajhah wa a‘li ka‘bah
O Allah, illuminate his face and elevate his stature,
وَأَفْلِجْ حُجَّتَهُ وَأَجِبْ دَعْوَتَهُ
Wa aflij ḥujjatah wa ajib da‘watah
And make his proof clear and answer his prayer,
وَابْعَثْهُ الْمَقَامَ الْمَحْمُودَ الَّذِي وَعَدْتَهُ
Wa ab‘athhu al-maqām al-maḥmūd alladhī wa‘adtah
And raise him to the praised station that You have promised him,
وَأَكْرِمْ زُلْفَتَهُ وَأَجْزِلْ عَطِيَّتَهُ
Wa akrim zulftah wa ajzil ‘aṭiyyatah
And honor his nearness and increase his gifts,
وَتَقَبَّلْ شَفَاعَتَهُ وَأَعْطِهِ سُؤْلَهُ
Wa taqabbal shafā‘atah wa a‘ṭihi su’lah
And accept his intercession and grant him his request,
وَشَرِّفْ بُنْيَانَهُ وَعَظِّمْ بُرْهَانَهُ
Wa sharif bunyānah wa ‘aẓẓim burhānah
And honor his structure and magnify his proof,
وَنَوِّرْ نُورَهُ وَأَوْرِدْنَا حَوْضَهُ
Wa nawwir nūrah wa awridnā ḥawḍah
And brighten his light and bring us to his pool,
Wa asqinā bi-kāsih
And give us to drink from his cup,
وَتَقَبَّل صَلاةَ أُمَّتِهِ عَلَيْهِ
Wa taqabbal ṣalāt ummatih ‘alayh
And accept the prayer of his community upon him,
وَاقْصُصْ بِنَا أَثَرهُ وَاسْلُكْ بِنَا سَبِيلَهُ
Wa aqṣuṣ binā atharah wa asluk binā sabīlah
And trace his steps for us and make us follow his path,
وَتَوَفَّنَا عَلَى مِلَّتِهِ
Wa tawaffanā ‘alā millatih
And cause us to die on his religion,
وَاسْتَعْمِلْنَا بِسُنَّتِهِ
Wa asta‘milnā bi-sunnatih
And employ us according to his practice,
وَابْعَثْنَا عَلَى مِنْهَاجِهِ
Wa ab‘athnā ‘alā minhājih
And resurrect us on his way,
وَاجْعَلْنَا نَدِينُ بِدينِهِ وَنَهْتَدِي بِهُداهُ
Wa aj‘alnā nadīn bi-dīnih wa nahtadī bi-hudāh
And make us adhere to his religion and be guided by his guidance,
وَنَقْتَدِي بِسُنَّتِهِ وَنَكُونُ مِنْ شِيعَتِهِ
Wa naqtadī bi-sunnatih wa nakūn min shī‘atih
And follow his tradition and be among his followers,
وَمَوالِيه وَأَوْلِيائِهِ وَأَحِبَّائِهِ
Wa mawālih wa awliyā’ih wa aḥibbā’ih
And his supporters, friends, and loved ones,
وَخِيَّارِ أَمَّتِهِ وَمُقَدَّمِ زُمْرَتِهِ
Wa khiyār ummatih wa muqaddam zumratih
And the best of his community and the leaders of his group,
Wa taḥt liwā’ih
Under his banner,
نُعَادي عَدُوَّهُ وَنُوَالِي وَليَّهُ
Nu‘ādī ‘adūwah wa nuwālī waliyah
We oppose his enemy and befriend his ally,
حَتّى تُورِدَنَا عَلَيْهِ بَعْدَ الْمَمَاتِ
Ḥattā turidnā ‘alayh ba‘da al-mamāt
Until You bring us to him after death,
مَوْرِدَهُ غَيْرَ خَزَايَا وَلا نَادِمِينَ
Mawridah ghayra khazāyā wa lā nādimīn
At his place, without disgrace and without regret,
وَلاَ مُبَدِّلِينَ وَلاَ نَاكِثِينَ
Wa lā mubaddilīn wa lā nākithīn
And not changing or retracting
اَللّهُمَّ وَأَعْطِ مُحَمَّداً صَلّى اللهُ عَليهِ وَآلِهِ
Allāhumma wa a‘ṭi Muḥammad ṣallā Allāhu ‘alayh wa ālih
O Allah, and grant Muhammad, may Allah's blessings be upon him and his family,
مَعَ كُلِّ زُلْفَةٍ زُلْفَةً
Ma‘a kulli zulfaẓin zulfaẓan
With every nearness, more nearness,
وَمَعَ كُلِّ قُرْبَةٍ قُرْبَةً
Wa ma‘a kulli qurbatin qurbatan
And with every closeness, more closeness,
وَمَعَ كُلِّ وَسِيلَةٍ وَسِيلَةً
Wa ma‘a kulli wasīlatin wasīlatan
And with every means, more means,
وَمَعَ كُلِّ فَضِيلَةٍ فَضَيلَةً
Wa ma‘a kulli faḍīlatin faḍīlatan
And with every virtue, more virtue,
وَمَعَ كُلِّ شَفَاعَةٍ شَفَاعَةً
Wa ma‘a kulli shafā‘atin shafā‘atan
And with every intercession, more intercession,
وَمَعَ كُلِّ كَرَامَةٍ كَرَامَةً
Wa ma‘a kulli karāmatin karāmatan
And with every honor, more honor,
وَمَعَ كُلِّ خَيْرٍ خَيْراً
Wa ma‘a kulli khayrin khayran
And with every good, more good,
وَمَعَ كُلِّ شَرَفٍ شَرَفاً
Wa ma‘a kulli sharafin sharafan
And with every dignity, more dignity,
وَشَفِّعْهُ فِي كُلِّ مِنْ يَشْفَعُ لَهُ
Wa shaf‘ihu fī kulli min yashfa‘ lah
And make him intercede for all whom he intercedes for,
مِنْ أُمَّتِهِ وَغَيْرِهْمِ مِنَ الأُمَمِ
Min ummatih wa ghayruhim min al-umam
From his community and others from the nations,
حَتّى لاَ يُعْطى مَلَكٌ مُقَرَّبٌ
Ḥattā lā yu‘ṭā malakun muqarrabun
Until no close angel is given,
Wa lā nabiyyun mursalun
Nor a sent prophet,
Wa lā ‘abdan muṣṭafan
Nor a chosen servant,
إِلاَّ دُونَ مَا أَنْتَ مُعْطِيهِ مُحَمَّداً
Illā dūna mā anta mu‘ṭīhi Muḥammad
Except below what You give Muhammad,
صَلّى اللهُ عَليهِ وَآلِهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ
Ṣallā Allāhu ‘alayh wa ālih yawma al-qiyāmah
May Allah's blessings be upon him and his family on the Day of Resurrection
اَللّهُمَّ وَاجْعَلْهُ الْمُقَدَّمَ فِي الْدَّعْوةِ
Allāhumma wa aj‘alhu al-muqaddama fī al-da‘wah
O Allah, and make him the foremost in the call,
وَالْمُؤثِرَ بِهِ فِي الأَثْرَةِ
Wa al-mu’athir bihi fī al-athrāh
And the one who benefits the most in the hereafter,
وَالْمُنَوَّهَ بِاسْمِهِ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالآخِرَةِ
Wa al-munawwah bismi bihi fī al-dunyā wa al-ākhirah
And the one praised by name in this world and the hereafter,
فِي الشَّفَاعَةِ إِذَا تَجَلَّيْتَ بِنُورِكَ
Fī al-shafā‘ah idhā tajallayta binūrīk
In intercession when You manifest Your light,
وَجِيءَ بِالْكِتَابِ وَالنَّبِيّينَ
Wa jī’a bi-al-kitāb wa al-nabiyyīn
And the book and the prophets are brought forth,
وَالصِّدِّيقِينَ وَالشُّهَدَاءِ وَالصَّالِحِينَ
Wa al-ṣiddīqīn wa al-shuhadā’ wa al-ṣāliḥīn
And the truthful ones, the martyrs, and the righteous,
وَقُضِيَ بَيْنَهُمْ بِالْحَقِّ
Wa quḍiya baynahum bi-al-ḥaqq
And judgment is passed among them in truth,
Wa hum lā yuẓlamūn
And they are not wronged,
وَقِيلَ الْحَمْدُ للهِ رَبِّ العَالَمِينَ
Wa qīla al-ḥamdu lillāhi rabb al-‘ālamīn
And it is said, "Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds"
ذلِكَ يَوْمُ التَّغَابُنِ
Dhālika yawmu al-tagābun
That is the Day of Loss and Gain,
Dhālika yawmu al-ḥasrah
That is the Day of Regret,
Dhālika yawmu al-āzifah
That is the Day of Nearness,
وَذلِكَ يَوْمٌ لا تُسْتَقَالُ فِيهِ الْعَثَرَاتُ
Wa dhālika yawmun lā tustaqālu fīhi al-‘atharāt
And that is the day when slips are not excused,
وَلاَ تَبْسُطُ فِيهِ التَّوْبَاتُ
Wa lā tabsuṭu fīhi al-tawbāt
And repentance is not accepted,
وَلاَ يُسْتَدْرَكُ فِيهِ مَا فَاتَ
Wa lā yustadraku fīhi mā fāt
And what is missed cannot be made up
اَللّهُمَّ فَصَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
Allāhumma faṣalli ‘alā Muḥammad wa āl Muḥammad
O Allah, so bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad,
وَارْحَمْ مُحَمَّداً وَآلَ مُحَمَّدٍ
Wa arḥam Muḥammad wa āl Muḥammad
And have mercy on Muhammad and the family of Muhammad,
كَأْفضَلِ مَا صَلَّيْتَ وَرَحِمْتَ وَبَارَكْتَ
Ka-afḍal mā ṣallayta wa raḥimta wa bārakta
As the best You have blessed, had mercy on, and blessed,
عَلى إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَآلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ
‘Alā Ibrāhīm wa āl Ibrāhīm
Upon Abraham and the family of Abraham,
Innaka Ḥamīdun Majīd
Indeed, You are Praiseworthy, Glorious
اَللّهُمَّ وَامْنُنْ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
Allāhumma wa amnun ‘alā Muḥammad wa āl Muḥammad
O Allah, and bestow favors upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad,
كَمَا مَنَنْتَ عَلى مُوسى وَهارُونَ
Kamā mananta ‘alā Mūsā wa Hārūn
As You bestowed favors upon Moses and Aaron
اَللّهُمَّ صَلِّ وَسَلِّمْ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
Allāhumma ṣalli wa sallim ‘alā Muḥammad wa āl Muḥammad
O Allah, bless and grant peace to Muhammad and the family of Muhammad,
كَأَفْضَلِ مَا صّلَّيْتَ وَرَحِمْتَ وَبَارَكْتَ
Ka-afḍal mā ṣallayta wa raḥimta wa bārakta
As the best You have blessed, had mercy on, and blessed,
عَلى إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَسَلَّمْتَ عَلَى نُوحٍ فِي الْعَالَمِينَ
‘Alā Ibrāhīm wa sallamta ‘alā Nūḥ fī al-‘ālamīn
Upon Abraham and granted peace to Noah among the worlds
اَللّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
Allāhumma ṣalli ‘alā Muḥammad wa āl Muḥammad
O Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad,
وَعَلى أَئِمَّةِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ الأَوَّلِينَ
Wa ‘alā a’imma al-muslimīn al-awwalīn
And upon the leaders of the Muslims, the first ones,
Minhum wa al-ākhirīn
From them and the last ones
اَللّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
Allāhumma ṣalli ‘alā Muḥammad wa āl Muḥammad
O Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad,
وَعَلَى إِمَامِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ
Wa ‘alā imām al-muslimīn
And upon the leader of the Muslims
اَللّهُمَّ وَاحْفَظْهُ مِنْ بَيْنِ يَدْيِهِ
Allāhumma wa iḥfaẓhu min bayna yadayh
O Allah, protect him from in front of him,
وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِ وَعَنْ يمِيِنِهِ
Wa min khalfih wa ‘an yamīnih
And from behind him and on his right,
وَعَنْ شِمَالِهِ وَمَنْ فَوْقِهِ
Wa ‘an shimālīh wa min fawqih
And on his left and from above him,
وَمِنْ تَحْتِهِ وَافْتَحْ لَهُ فَتْحاً يَسِيراً
Wa min taḥtih wa iftaḥ lahū fatḥan yasīrā
And from beneath him, and grant him an easy victory,
وانْصُرْهُ نَصْراً عَزِيزاً
Wa anṣuruh naṣran ‘azīzā
And grant him a mighty victory,
واجْعَلْ لَهُ مِنْ لَدُنْكَ سُلْطَاناً نَصِيراً
Wa aj‘al lahū min ladunka sulṭānan naṣīrā
And grant him from Your presence an aiding authority
اَللّهُمَّ عَجِّلْ فَرَجَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
Allāhumma ‘ajil faraj āl Muḥammad
O Allah, hasten the relief of the family of Muhammad,
وَأَهْلِكْ أَعْدَاءَهُمْ مِنْ الْجِنِّ وَالإِنْسِ
Wa ahlik a‘dā’ahum min al-jinn wa al-ins
And destroy their enemies from the jinn and humans
اَللّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَأَهْلِ بَيْتِهِ
Allāhumma ṣalli ‘alā Muḥammad wa ahl baytih
O Allah, bless Muhammad and his household,
وَذُرِّيَّتِهِ وَأَزْوَاجِهِ الطَّيِّبِينَ
Wa dhurriyyatih wa azwājih al-ṭayyibīn
And his descendants and his pure spouses,
الأَخْيَارِ الطَّاهِرِينَ الْمُطَهَّرِينَ
Al-akhyār al-ṭāhirīn al-muṭahharīn
The good, the pure, the purified ones,
الْهُدَاةِ الْمُهْتَدِينَ غَيْرِ الضَّالِّينَ
Al-hudāt al-muhtadīn ghayr al-ḍāllīn
The guided, the rightly-guided ones, not the misled ones,
وَلاَ الْمُضِلِّينَ الَّذِين أَذْهَبْتَ عَنْهُمُ الرِّجْسِ
Wa lā al-muḍillīn alladhīn adhhabt ‘anhum al-rijs
Nor the misleaders, those from whom You removed impurity,
وَطَهَّرْتَهُمْ تَطْهِيراً
Wa ṭahhartahum taṭhīrā
And purified them thoroughly
اَللّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
Allāhumma ṣalli ‘alā Muḥammad wa āl Muḥammad
O Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad,
فِي الأوَّلِينَ وَصَلِّ عَلَيْهِمْ فِي الآخِرينَ
Fī al-awwalīn wa ṣalli ‘alayhim fī al-ākhirīn
Among the first ones, and bless them among the last ones,
وَصَلِّ عَلَيْهِمْ فِي الْمَلأِ الأَعْلى
Wa ṣalli ‘alayhim fī al-mala’i al-a‘lā
And bless them in the highest assembly,
وَصَلِّ عَلَيْهِمْ أَبَدَ الآبِدِينَ
Wa ṣalli ‘alayhim abada al-ābidīn
And bless them forever and ever,
صَلاةً لاَ مُنْتَهى لَهَا وَلاَ أَمَدَ
Ṣalātan lā muntahā lahā wa lā amad
A prayer that has no end and no limit,
دُونَ رِضَاكَ آمِينَ آمِينَ رَبَّ الْعَالَمِين
Dūna riḍāk amīn amīn rabb al-‘ālamīn
Without Your pleasure, Ameen, Ameen, Lord of the worlds
اَللّهُمَّ الْعَنْ الَّذِينَ بَدَّلُوا دِينَكَ وَكِتَابَكَ
Allāhumma al‘an alladhīna baddalū dīnak wa kitābak
O Allah, curse those who changed Your religion and Your book,
وَغَيَّرُوا سُنَّةَ نَبِيِّكَ عَلَيْهِ سَلاَمُكَ
Wa ghayyarū sunnat nabiyyik ‘alayh salāmuk
And altered the tradition of Your Prophet, peace be upon him,
وَأَزَالُوا الْحَقَّ عَنْ مَوْضِعِهِ
Wa azālū al-ḥaqq ‘an mawḍi‘ih
And removed the truth from its place
أَلْفَيْ أَلْفَ لَعْنَةٍ مُخْتَلِفَةٍ غَيْرَ مُؤْتَلِفَةٍ
Alfay alf la‘nah mukhtalifah ghayr mu’talifah
A thousand thousand different curses, not united,
وَالْعَنْهُمْ أَلْفَيْ أَلْفَ لَعْنَةٍ مُؤْتَلِفَةٍ
Wa al‘anhum alfay alf la‘nah mu’talifah
And curse them with a thousand thousand united curses,
غَيْرَ مُخْتَلِفَةٍ وَالْعَنْ أَشْيَاعَهُمْ وَأَتْبَاعَهُمْ
Ghayr mukhtalifah wa al‘an ashyā‘ahum wa atbā‘ahum
Not different, and curse their supporters and followers,
وَمَنْ رَضِي بِفِعَالِهِمْ مِنَ الأَوَّلِينَ وَالآخِرِينَ
Wa man raḍī bi-fi‘ālihimm min al-awwalīn wa al-ākhirīn
And those who were pleased with their actions from the first and the last
اَللّهُمَّ يَا بَارِئَ الْمَسْمُوكَاتِ
Allāhumma yā bāri’ al-masmūkāt
O Allah, the Creator of the heavens,
وَدَاحِيَ الْمَدْحُوَّاتِ وَقَاصِمَ الْجَبَابِرَةِ
Wa dāḥī al-madḥuwāt wa qāṣim al-jabābirah
And the One who expands the earth and crushes the tyrants,
وَرَحْمَانَ الدُّنْيَا وَالآخِرَةِ وَرَحِيمَهُمَا
Wa raḥmān al-dunyā wa al-ākhirah wa raḥīmahuma
The Most Merciful of this world and the hereafter and their Compassionate,
تُعْطِي مِنْهُما مَا تَشَاءُ وَتَمْنَعُ مَا تَشَاءُ
Tu‘ṭī minhumā mā tashā’u wa tamna‘u mā tashā’
You give from them what You will and withhold what You will,
أَسْأَلُكَ بِنُورِ وَجْهِكَ وَبِحَقِّ مُحَمَّدٍ
As’aluka bi-nūr wajhik wa bi-ḥaqq Muḥammad
I ask You by the light of Your face and by the right of Muhammad,
صَلّى اللهُ عَليهِ وَآلِهِ أَعْطِ مُحَمَّداً حَتّى يَرْضى
Ṣallā Allāhu ‘alayh wa ālih a‘ṭi Muḥammad ḥattā yarḍā
May Allah’s blessings be upon him and his family, grant Muhammad until he is satisfied,
وَبَلِّغْهُ الْوَسِيلَةَ الْعُظْمَى
Wa ballighhu al-wasīlat al-‘uẓmā
And grant him the highest means
اَللّهُمَّ اجْعَلْ مُحَمَّداً فِي الْسَّابِقينَ غَايَتَهُ
Allāhumma aj‘al Muḥammad fī al-sābiqīn ghāyatih
O Allah, make Muhammad's goal among the foremost,
وَفِي الْمُنْتَجَبِينَ كَرَامَتَهُ
Wa fī al-muntajabīn karāmatih
And his honor among the chosen ones,
وَفِي الْعَالِينَ ذِكْرَهُ
Wa fī al-‘ālayn dhikrah
And his mention among the high ones,
وَأَسْكِنْهُ أَعْلى غُرَفِ الْفِرْدَوْسِ
Wa askinhū a‘lā ghuraf al-firdaws
And settle him in the highest chambers of paradise,
فِي الْجَنَّةِ الَّتِي لاَ تَفُوقُهَا دَرَجَةٌ
Fī al-jannah allatī lā tafūquhā darajah
In the paradise that no degree surpasses,
Wa lā yafḍuluhā shay’
And nothing excels it
اَللّهُمَّ بَيِّضْ وَجْهَهُ وَأَضِئْ نُورَهُ
Allāhumma bayyiḍ wajhah wa aḍi’ nūrah
O Allah, illuminate his face and brighten his light,
وَكُنْ أَنْتَ الْحَافِظَ لَهُ
Wa kun anta al-ḥāfiẓ lah
And be his protector
اَللّهُمَّ اجْعَلْ مُحَمَّداً وَآلَ مُحَمَّدٍ
Allāhumma aj‘al Muḥammad wa āl Muḥammad
O Allah, make Muhammad and the family of Muhammad,
أَوَّلَ قَارعٍ لِبَابِ الْجَنَّةِ وَأَوَّلَ دَاخِلٍ
Awwal qāri‘ libāb al-jannah wa awwal dākhil
The first to knock on the door of paradise and the first to enter,
وَأَوَّلَ شَافِعٍ وَأَوَّلَ مُشَفَّعٍ
Wa awwal shāfi‘ wa awwal mushaffa‘
And the first intercessor and the first whose intercession is accepted
اَللّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
Allāhumma ṣalli ‘alā Muḥammad wa āl Muḥammad
O Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad,
الْوُلاَةِ السَّادَاتِ الْكُفَاةِ الْكُهُولِ الْكِرَامِ
Al-wulāt al-sādāt al-kifāh al-kuhūl al-kirām
The leaders, the masters, the sufficient, the noble elders,
الْقَادَةِ الْقَمَاقِمِ الضِّخَامِ
Al-qādah al-qamāqim al-ḍiḍām
The mighty leaders,
اللُّيُوثِ الأَبْطَالِ عِصْمَةٍ لِمَنِ اعْتَصَمَ بِهِمْ
Al-luyūth al-abṭāl ‘iṣmah li-man i‘taṣam bihim
The brave lions, a protection for those who seek refuge in them,
وَإِجَارَةٍ لِمَنِ اسْتَجَارَ بِهِمْ
Wa ijārah li-man istajāra bihim
And a sanctuary for those who seek shelter with them,
وَالْكَهْفِ الْحَصِينِ وَالْفُلْكِ الْجَارِيَةِ
Wa al-kahf al-ḥaṣīn wa al-fulk al-jāriyah
The secure cave and the running ship,
فِي اللُّجَجِ الْغَامِرَةِ
Fī al-lujjaj al-ghāmirah
In the overwhelming depths,
وَالرَّاغِبُ عَنْهُمْ مَارقٌ وَالْمُتَأَخِّرُ عَنْهُمْ
Wa al-rāghib ‘anhum māriq wa al-muta’akhkhir ‘anhum
And whoever turns away from them is a renegade, and whoever lags behind them,
وَاللَّازِمُ لَهُمْ لاَحِقٌ وَرِمَاحُكَ فِي أَرْضِكَ
Wa al-lāzim lahum lāḥiq wa rimāḥuk fī arḍik
And whoever adheres to them will catch up, and Your spears are in Your land,
وَصَلِّ عَلَى عِبَادِكَ فِي أَرْضِكَ
Wa ṣalli ‘alā ‘ibādik fī arḍik
And bless Your servants in Your land,
الَّذِينَ أَنْقَذْتَ بِهِمْ مِنَ الْهَلَكَةِ
Alladhīna anqadhat bihim min al-halak
Those whom You saved from destruction,
وَأَنَرْتَ بِهِمْ مِنَ الظُّلْمَةِ
Wa anarta bihim min al-ẓulmah
And illuminated through them from the darkness,
شَجَرَةِ النُّبُوَّةِ وَمَوْضِعِ الرِّسَالَةِ
Shajarat al-nubuwwah wa mawḍi‘ al-risālah
The tree of prophethood and the place of the message,
وَمُخْتَلَفِ الْمَلاَئِكَةِ وَمَعْدِنِ الْعِلْمِ
Wa mukhtalaf al-malā’ikah wa ma‘din al-‘ilm
The frequenting place of angels and the source of knowledge,
صَلّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَيْهِمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
Ṣallā Allāhu ‘alayh wa ‘alayhim ajma‘īn
May Allah's blessings be upon him and all of them,
آمِينَ آمِينَ رَبَّ الْعَالَمِينَ
Amīn amīn rabb al-‘ālamīn
Ameen, Ameen, Lord of the worlds
اَللّهُمَّ إِنّي أَسْأَلُكَ مَسْألَةَ الْمِسْكِينِ الْمُسْتَكِينِ
Allāhumma innī as’aluka mas’alat al-miskīn al-mustakīn
O Allah, I ask You with the request of the poor, the humble,
وَأَبْتَغِي إِلَيْكَ ابْتِغَاءَ الْبَائِسِ الْفَقِيرِ
Wa abtaghī ilayk ibtighā’ al-bā’is al-faqīr
And I seek You like the destitute, the needy,
وَأَتَضَرَّعُ إِلَيْكَ تَضَرُّعَ الضَّعِيفِ
Wa ataḍarra‘ ilayk taḍarra‘ al-ḍa‘īf
And I humble myself to You with the humility of the weak,
وَأَبْتَهِلُ إِلَيْكَ ابْتِهَالَ الْمُذْنِبِ الْخَاطِئِ
Wa abtahil ilayk ibtihāl al-mudhnib al-khāṭi’
And I implore You with the imploration of the sinful, the wrongdoer,
مَسْأَلَةَ مَنْ خَضَعَتْ لَكَ نَفْسُهُ
Mas’alat man khadha‘at lak nafsuh
The request of one whose soul has submitted to You,
وَرَغَمَ لَكَ أَنْفُهُ وَسَقَطَتْ لَكَ نَاصِيَتُهُ
Wa raghma lak anfuḥ wa saqatat lak nāṣiyatuh
And whose nose has been humbled to You, and whose forehead has fallen to You,
وَانْهَمَلَتْ لَكَ دُمُوعُهُ وَفَاضَتْ لَكَ عَبْرَتُهُ
Wa inhamalat lak dumū‘uh wa fāḍat lak ‘abratuh
And whose tears have flowed for You, and whose weeping has overflowed for You,
وَاعْتَرَفَ بِخَطِيئَتِهِ وَقَلَّتْ عَنْهُ حِيلَتُهُ
Wa a‘tarafa bi-khaṭī’atih wa qallat ‘anhu ḥīlatuh
And who has confessed his sin and whose strength has diminished,
Wa aslamat‘hu dhunūbuh
And his sins have overwhelmed him
أَسْأَلُكَ الصَّلاَةَ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِهِ أَوَّلاً
As’aluka al-ṣalāt ‘alā Muḥammad wa ālih awwalan
I ask You to bless Muhammad and his family, firstly,
وَآخِراً وَأَسْأَلُكَ حُسْنَ الْمَعِيشَةِ
Wa ākhiran wa as’aluka ḥusn al-ma‘īshah
And lastly, and I ask You for a good life,
مَا أَبْقَيِتَنِي مَعِيشةً أَقْوى بِهَا فِي جَمِيعِ حَالاَتِي
Mā abqaytanī ma‘īshatan aqwā bihā fī jamī‘ ḥālātī
As long as You keep me alive, a life by which I can endure in all my situations,
وَأَتَوَصَّلُ بِهَا فِي الدُّنْيَا إِلى آخِرَتِي
Wa atawassalu bihā fī al-dunyā ilā ākhiratī
And by which I can reach my hereafter in this world,
عَفْواً لاَ تُتْرِفُنِي فَأَطْغى
‘Afwan lā tutrifunī fa-aṭghā
With Your pardon, so that I do not become arrogant,
وَلاَ تُقَتِّرُ عَليَّ فَأَشْقى
Wa lā tuqattir ‘alayya fa-ashqā
And do not withhold from me, so that I become miserable,
وَأَعْطِنِي مِنْ ذلِكَ غِنىً عَنْ جَمِيعِ خَلْقِكَ
Wa a‘ṭinī min dhālik ghinā ‘an jamī‘ khalqik
And grant me from that, sufficiency away from all Your creation,
Wa ballighu ilā riḍāk
And make it reach Your pleasure,
وَلاَ تَجْعَلِ الدُّنْيَا عَلَيَّ سِجْناً
Wa lā taj‘al al-dunyā ‘alayya sijnā
And do not make this world a prison for me,
وَلاَ تَجْعَلْ فِرَاقَهَا عَلَيَّ حُزْناً
Wa lā taj‘al firāqahā ‘alayya ḥuznā
And do not make its departure a sadness for me,
أَخْرِجْنِي مِنْهَا وَمِنْ فِتْنَتِهَا
Akhrujinī minhā wa min fitnatihā
Take me out of it and from its trials,
مَرْضِيَّاً عَنّي مَقْبُولاً فِيها عَمَلِي
Marḍīyan ‘annī maqbūlan fīhā ‘amalī
Pleased with me, and my deeds accepted in it,
إِلى دَارِ الْحَيَوانِ وَمَساكِنِ الأَخْيَارِ
Ilā dār al-ḥayawān wa masākin al-akhyār
To the abode of life and the dwellings of the righteous
اَللّهُمَّ إِنّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ أَزْلِهَا
Allāhumma innī a‘ūdhu bika min azalihā
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from its vanishing,
وَزِلْزَالِهَا وَسَطَواتِ سُلْطَانِهَا وَسَلاَطِينِهَا
Wa zilzālihā wa saṭawāt sulṭānihā wa salāṭīnihā
And its shaking, and the tyranny of its rulers and authorities,
وَشَرِّ شَيْطَانِهَا وَبَغْي مَنْ بَغى عَلَيَّ فِيهَا
Wa sharr shayṭānihā wa baghy man baghā ‘alayy fīhā
And the evil of its devil, and the aggression of those who oppress me in it
اَللّهُمَّ مَنْ أَرَادَنِي فَأَرِدْهُ
Allāhumma man arādanī fa-ardih
O Allah, whoever intends me with harm, intend him with harm,
Wa man kādanī fa-kidhih
And whoever plots against me, plot against him,
وَافْقَأْ عُيُونَ الْكَفَرَةِ
Wa afqa’ ‘uyūn al-kafarā
And blind the eyes of the disbelievers,
وَاعْصِمْنِي مِنْ ذلِكِ بِالسَّكِينَةِ
Wa a‘ṣimnī min dhālik bi-al-sakīnah
And protect me from that with tranquility,
وَأَلْبِسْنِي دِرْعَكَ الْحَصِينَةَ
Wa albisnī dir‘ak al-ḥaṣīnah
And clothe me with Your impenetrable armor,
وَاجْعَلْنِي فِي سَتْرِكَ الْوَافِي
Wa aj‘alnī fī sitrik al-wāfī
And place me in Your complete protection,
وَأَصْلِحْ حَالِي وَبَارِكْ لِي فِي أَهْلي
Wa aṣliḥ ḥālī wa bārik lī fī ahlī
And rectify my condition and bless me in my family,
وَمَالِي وَوَلَدِي وَخُزَانَتِي
Wa mālī wa waladī wa khuzānatī
And my wealth, my children, and my possessions,
وَمَنْ أَحْبَبْتُ فِيكَ وَأَحَبَّنِي
Wa man aḥbabtu fīk wa aḥabbani
And those whom I love for Your sake and who love me
اَللّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي مَا قَدْ قَدَّمْتُ
Allāhumma aghfir lī mā qad qaddamt
O Allah, forgive me for what I have sent forth,
وَمَا أَخَّرْتُ وَمَا أَعْلَنْتُ وَمَا أَسْرَرْتُ
Wa mā akhkhart wa mā a‘lantu wa mā asrartu
And what I have delayed, what I have declared, and what I have hidden,
وَمَا نَسِيتُ وَمَا تَعَمَّدْتُ
Wa mā nasītu wa mā ta‘amadt
And what I have forgotten and what I have intentionally done
اَللّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ خَلَقْتَنِي كَمَا أَرَدْتَ
Allāhumma innaka khalaqtanī kamā aradt
O Allah, You created me as You willed,
فَأَجْعَلْنِي كَمَا تُحِبُّ يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمينَ
Fa-aj‘alnī kamā tuḥibb yā arḥam al-rāḥimīn
So make me as You love, O Most Merciful of the merciful
About the prayer, from Abū ‘Abdillāh (as): It is recommended to pray upon the Prophet (p) after the Asr prayer on Friday with these prayers
