50. HIS DUA AT THE TIME OF THE NEW MOON OF RAJAB AND OTHER MONTHS

91. In al-Iqb¡l: The du~¡ for the new moon of Rajab as found in al-Da~aw¡t: The Noble Prophet XE "Noble Prophet"  9 used to say:

أَللّٰهُمَّ أَهِلَّهُ عَلَيْنَا بِالأَمْنِ وَالإِيـمَانِ وَالسَّلاَمَةِ وَالإِسْلاَمِ، رَبِّي وَرَبُّكَ اللّٰهُ عَزَّوَجَلَّ.

O All¡h XE "All¡h" ! Make it (the new moon) come upon us with tranquility and faith, and peace and submission (to Your will). My Lord and Your Lord is All¡h j.[i]

92. Also: It is narrated that when he 9 saw the new moon of the month of Rajab he said:

أَللّٰهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَنَا فِي رَجَبٍ وَشَعْبَانَ، وَبَلِّغْنَا شَهْرَ رَمَضَانَ، وأَعِنَّا عَلـى الصِّيَامِ وَالقِّيَامِ وَحِفْظِ اللِّسَانِ وَغَضِّ الْبَصَرِ، وَلاَ تَجْعَلْ حَظَّنَا مِنْهُ الْجُوْعَ وَالْعَطَشَ.

O All¡h XE "All¡h" ! Bless us in Rajab and Sha~b¡n and make us reach the month of Rama¤¡n; and help us to fast and establish prayers and control the tongue and lower the gaze, and do not make our only share in it hunger and thirst.[ii]

93. Also: It is narrated that when he 9 saw the new moon, he recited the takb¢r (All¡h XE "All¡h"  is the Greatest) thrice and the tahlil (There is no god but All¡h) thrice, then he said:

أَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ الَّذِي أَذْهَبَ شَهْرَ كَذَا وَجَاءَ بِشَهْرِ كَذَا.

Praise be to All¡h XE "All¡h"  who make such-and-such month to pass and brought such-and-such month.[iii]
