PRAYERS OF THE FINAL PROPHET (SAAWW)

34. HIS DUA UPON SEEING THE NEW-MOON OF THE MONTH OF RAMADHAN

72. From Sayyid ibn ±¡w£s in the section on the actions to be performed in the month of Rama¤¡n: From Mu¦ammad XE "Mu¦ammad"  ibn Hanafiyya from Am¢r al-Mu`min¢n D who said: When the Noble Prophet XE "Holy Prophet"  9 saw the new-moon of the month of Rama¤¡n, he turned his face towards the Qiblah and said:

أَللّٰهُمَّ أَهِلَّهُ عَلَيْنَا بِالأَمْنِ وَالإِيـمَانِ وَالسَّلاَمَةِ وَالإِسْلاَمِ، وَالْعَافِيةِ الْمُجَلَّلَةِ، وَدِفَاعِ الأَسْقَامِ، وَالْعَوْنِ عَلـى الصَّلاَةِ وَالصِّيَامِ وَتِّلاَوَةِ الْقُرَآنِ. أَللّٰهُمَّ سَلِّمْـنَا لِشَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ، وَتُسَلِّمْهُ مِنَّا، وَسَلِّمْنَا فِيهِ، حَتّى يَنْقَضِيَ عَنَّا شَهْرُ رَمَضَانَ وَقَدْ عَفَوْتَ عَنَّا وَغَفَرْتَ لَنَا وَرَحِمْتَنَا.

O All¡h XE "All¡h" ! Make it come upon us with harmony and faith, peace and submission, well-being and protection from maladies, and help in prayer and fastingو and reciting the Qur`¡n. O All¡h! Make us turn to the month of Rama¤¡n and make it receive us, and make us submissive in it, until the month of Rama¤¡n ends while You have pardoned and forgiven us and had mercy on us.[i]
