EiEid ul Fitr marks the end of the month of Ramadhan. We say farewell to the blessed month, its beautiful days and its fragrant nights..know more.
On the day of Eid al-Fitr, Imam Ali bin Abi Talib (as) delivered a sermon in which he said: "O people! Verily this day of yours is the day when the righteous are awarded and the wretched are losers. It is a day which is similar to the one on which you shall be standing (before your Lord). Therefore, when you come out of your homes to go to places of your prayer, remind yourselves about the day when you (your souls) shall come out of your bodies to go to your Lord. When you stand on places of your prayer, remind yourselves of your standing in presence of your Lord (on the day of Judgment). And when you return to your homes (after prayer), remind yourselves about your returning to your homes in Paradise.
O Servants of Allah! Verily the minimum reward for those men and women who fasted (during Ramadhan), is an Angel, who calls out to them on the last day of the month of Ramadhan (saying): O Servants of Allah! Rejoice the Glad Tiding that all your previous sins have been forgiven . Therefore, watch out in those things which serve as your re-creation (on this day and days to follow)" (Nahjul-Balaghah) For Complete Idd Khutba / Sermon click here
EID AAamal & Salaat Pdf
1. Recite Takbeeraat
(Allah is Great . Allah is Great . There is no god save Allah. And Allah is Great. Allah is Great. (All) praise be to Allah. (We) sing the praises of Allah because He has shown us the Right Path. (We) gratefully thank Him because He takes care of us and looks after our interests.) ALLAAHU AKBAR ALLAAHU AKBAR LAA ILAAHA ILLALLAAH WALLAAHU AKBAR ALLAAHU AKBAR WA LILLAAHIL HAMDUL HAMDU LILLAAH ALAA MAA HADAA NAA WA LAHUSH SHUKRU ALAA MAA AWLAAANAA
|
2. Give Zakaat-e-Fitra, which is 3 kilograms of the item commonly eaten per person in the house and it is better give it before Eed Salaat This is an emphasized Waajib, it is a means of acceptance of our Aamaal during Ramadhan Month and it is also a safeguard against death.
3. Make Ghusl. Recite this before it:
O Allah, believing in Thee, fully aware of Thy Book, following the way of life of Thy Prophet Muhammad, Allah's blessings be on him and on his children, (I take bath). |
allahumma emanan bika wa tasdedan bikitabika wattiba`a sunnati nabiyyika muhammadin salla allahu `layhi wa alihi |
Then recite Bismillaah and start making Ghusl, after finishing ghusl, recite this
O Allah let me make amends and compensate for my wrong doings, (so that) my religion becomes pure and O Allah remove the dirt from me. |
allahumma ij`alhu kaffarattan lidhunube wa tahhir dene allahumma adh-hib `anniya alddanasa |
4. Recite Ziarat of Imam Husayn(as) Qadr & Idd Special Ziarat on Idd night
5. Recite Duaa-e-Nudbaa. Sayyid Ibn Tawus has instructed, saying: After recitation of the Du`a' al-Nudbah, do sajda/prostrate yourself and say the following: Image
a`udhu bika min narin harruha la yutfa'u |
I seek refuge with Thee from the Fire whose hot flames do not get extinguished or grow dim, |
wa jadeduha la yabla |
whose energetic intensity does not loose its severity, |
wa `atshanuha la yurwa |
wherein parched throats never get quenched. |
You may then put your right cheek on the ground and say the following:
O Allah do not throw me down head on into the Fire after I have prostrated in adoration before Thee and thrown myself on the ground to humble myself before Thee; it is not a show of favour from me unto Thee but it is (Thy) merciful benevolence Thou bestows on me. |
ilahe la tuqallib wajhiya finnari ba`da sujude wa ta`fere laka bighayri mannin minne `alayka bal laka almannu `alayya |
You may then put your left cheek on the ground and say the following:
Have mercy on him who has transgressed and committed blunders, (but) now ashamed surrenders (to Thee) to receive absolution. |
irham man asa'a waqtarafa wastakana wa`tarafa |
You may then return to the (ordinary) prostration and say the following:
I am a troublesome servant but Thou art the bountiful Lord-Nourisher. A great many mistakes have been committed by Thy servant but O Compassionate, from Thee (only) Lenient treatment is expected. |
You may then repeat the following one hundred times:
(I plead for) pardon; (I plead for) pardon. |
al`afwa al`afwa |
Sayyid Ibn Tawus, then, adds, Do not spend this day with entertainment and negligence while you do not know whether your deeds have been accepted or rejected. Rather, if you hope of acceptance of your deeds, you must show thanks; and if you anticipate rejection, you must be intensely sad.
6. Recite Eed-Salaat.
Dua Before Eid salat ImageIt is recommended not to leave ones house for joining the congregational Eid al-Fitr Prayer before sunrise. It is also recommended to say the supplications that have been mentioned by Sayyid Ibn Tawus in Iqbal al-A`mal. One of these supplications is that Abu-Hamzah al-Thumali has reported Imam Muhammad al-Baqir (a.s) as saying, Whey you ready yourself for joining the congregational Friday Prayers and the Eid Prayers, you may say the following supplication:
اللَّهُمَّ مَنْ تَهَيّا فِي هٰذَا ٱلْيَوْمِ |
allahumma man tahayya'a fe hadha alyawmi |
O Allah, if one, on this day, prepares oneself, |
aw ta`abba'a aw a`adda wa ista`adda |
takes pains, gets ready, or prepares oneself |

hoping for his aid, gifts, |
wa fawazilihe wa `aayahu |

for You alone, my Lord, is my readiness, preparations, |
wa i`dade wa isti`dade |
taking pains, training, and inclination |
raja'a rifdika wa jawa'izika |
in the hope of gaining Your aid, gifts, |
wa nawafilika wa fawazilika |
grants, benefits, |
wa faza'ilika wa `aayaka |
bounties, and donations. |
wa qad ghadawtu ila `edin min a`yadi ummati nabiyyika muhammadin |
I find myself celebrating one of the feasts commemorated by the nation of Your Prophet, Muhammad, |
salawatu allahi `alayhi wa `ala alihe |
blessings of Allah be upon him and his Household. |
wa lam afid ilayka alyawma bi`amalin salihin athiqu bihe qaddamtuhu |
I have not come to You, today, carrying a righteous deeds that I may trust to present before You |
wa la tawajjahtu bimakhluqin ammaltuhu |
nor have I introduced a creature as my interceder before You; |
wa lakin ataytuka khazi`an |
rather, I submissively draw near You |
muqiran bidhunube wa isa'ate ila nafse |
confessing of my wrongdoings and my offenses to myself. |
faya `azemu ya `azemu ya `azemu |
So, O All-great, O All-great, O All-great, |
ighfir liya al`azema min dhunube |
(please) forgive my grave wrongdoings, |
for, verily, no one can forgive serious transgressions save You. |
ya la ilaha alla anta |
O He save Whom there is no god! |
ya arhama alrrahimena |
O most Merciful of all the merciful! |
The Eid Prayer (Salat al-`d) consists of two Rak`ahs. In the first Rak`ah, one may recite Surah of al-Fatihah and Surah Al A'ala Mp3(No. 87). ( Image file here) After the recitation of these Surahs, one may say the takbeer statement (i.e. allahu-akbar) five times and raise the hands for the Qunut after each takbeer, saying as below: PDF for print | jpg
You may then say the takbeer for the sixth time, and do the genuflection (ruku`), and prostrate yourself (sujud). When you stand up for the second Rak`ah, recite Surah of al-Fatihah and Surah 91 As Shams Mp3 (Image here) and then say the takbeer four times only raising the hands for the Qunut after each takbeer After that, say the fifth takbeer and continue the prayer.
allahumma ahla alkibriyai wal-`azamati |
O Allah: You are the Lord of glory and greatness |
wa ahla aljudi wal-jabaruti |
And the Lord of magnanimity and omnipotence |
wa ahla al-`afwi wal-rrahmati |
And the Lord of pardon and mercy, |
wa ahla alttaqwa wal-maghfirati |
And the worthiest of being feared and the Lord of forgiveness; |
asaluka bihaqqi hadha aliyawmi alladhy ja`altahu lilmuslimena `edan |
I beseech You in the name of this day, which You have decided to be feast for the Muslims, |
wa limuhammadin salla allahu `alayhi wa alihi dhukhran wa mazedan |
And to be safety and increasing honor for Muhammadpeace of Allah be upon him and his Household |
an tusalliya `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin |
(I beseech You) that You may send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad, |
wa an tudkhilany fe kulli khayrin adkhalta fehi muhammadan wa ala muhammadin |
And You may include me with every item of goodness with which You have included Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad, |
wa an tukhrijany min kulli suin akhrajta minhu muhammadan wa ala muhammadin |
And that You save me from any item of evil from which You have saved Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad, |
salawatuka `alayhi wa `alayhim |
May Your blessings be upon him and upon them. |
allahumma inne asaluka khayra ma saalaka `ibaduka alssalihuna |
O Allah: I pray You for the best of all that for which Your righteous servants have prayed You, |
wa a`udhu bika mimma ista`adha minhu `ibaduka alssalihuna |
And I seek Your protection against all that against which Your righteous servants have asked Your protection. |
After completion the prayer, say the famous Tasbeh al-Zahra' (a.s).
Narrations have mentioned many supplications to be said after the `Eid Prayer; rather the best of them may be the forty-fifth supplication of al-Sahefah al-Kamilah al-Sajjadiyyah.
It is recommended to offer the Eid Prayer outdoors, directly on the ground without putting a carpet or any other thing under the feet, to return from a way other than the one taken in the coming, to pray Almighty Allah for accepting the acts of ones brethren-in-faith.
Recite another Prayer for the Day of Fast breaking & Friday is the dua no 46 from Sahifa Sajjadia
It is mustahab (recommended ) to fast 6 days ie from the 4th up to the 9th of the month of Shawwal. see www.Islamic-laws.com Rule 1757 Ayt Sistani law book
Instead of making mountains out of molehills, Muslims should try to resolve such issues with a little bit of common sense. If Ramadan ends on Wednesday for some people (i.e. Thursday Eid) and on Thursday for muqallids of Ayt. Khui (i.e. Friday Eid) and on Friday or Saturday for the muqallids of Ayt. Seestani in Europe (i.e. Saturday/Sunday Eid), surely there is nothing wrong in it. Each one interprets the 'Sighting of New Moon' according to the verdict of his religious authority and their interpretation of the verdict. This is a sign of a healthy & mature community which is prepared to think and lead rather than follow others without understanding.
If the other members of your family are fasting on the day you are celebrating Eid, and you are not, just drink a glass of water in the morning you don't have to eat a four-course meal in front of them! In regards to Eid prayers, most places have services to accommodate various situations, and even if your community doesn't, keep in mind that Eid prayers are not obligatory during the occultation of the Twelfth Imam (may Allah hasten his reappearance) and can also be offered individually (Ayatollah Sistani: Islamic Laws, ruling #1525). Remember in Islam, the Day of Eid is a day of Ibadat and not merry making and Ibadat should be performed according to its religious rules and regulations and not as we think fit or for our own pleasure or as others do.
In days long gone by, the same things used to happen, only we did not know because we as a community, we all mostly followed only one Marja and we lived in a small towns or villages - so we all used to celebrate Eid together, thinking that the whole world celebrated it with us. Today, with Ilm, education, outlook and our circumstances we re spread around the globe and so we find this phenomena a bit vied.
Furthermore, even if we see the Arab community celebrating Eid on one day, the Pakistanis the next days, and as usual the mature Khoja community after them, what exactly is the big deal? In many parts of the Muslim world, people celebrate Eid for a whole week. The more, the merrier! I for one fail to see the problem with being able to dress up, visit friends and having delicious meals in the evening for three days instead of just one! Talking to Non-Muslims, whenever they ask me about Eid Day, I tell them that we celebrate Eid over 3 days - everyone at their convenience and this avoids many questions from them.
Instead of panicking and rushing to hurl the vilest accusations at our religious scholars, andturning and twisting their research and presentations to suit our needs, let us try to be a bit more reasonable. Unity does not mean uniformity. Instead of becoming upset at such minor differences, let us learn to appreciate and enjoy the blessings of variety and diversity.
Also, we must realize that even if we ignore all jurisprudential differences, we still would not be able to avoid the issue of multiple Eids. Indeed, we see that during the caliphate of Imam Ali (peace be upon him), a man once came and told him that he had sighted the crescent for the month of Shawwal, while no one else had. The Imam a.s. told him that since he has sighted the moon himself, it was Eid for him the next day, but for the rest of the community, since there were not two reliable testimonies (as required by Shariah), it would be the 30th of Ramadan. So while it was haram for the man to fast the next day, it was in fact wajib upon everyone else!Hence, for those who have proper knowledge and understanding of Islamic jurisprudence, this is really a non-issue. In all honesty, the moonsighting drama has nothing to do with unity or keeping our families intact. The Shia world has had multiple Eids for centuries now, so it is hard to fathom why this has become such a divisive issue. The fact of the matter is that this is a simple jurisprudential technicality which certain nefarious elements have hijacked and used to attack our Maraja-e-Taqleed, and many simple-minded Shias are sadly following suit. If we are really so concerned about maintaining unity, let us keep in mind that the one institution that has safeguarded and protected Shi'ism for the past 1200 years and the only platform that is capable of uniting us, is the same Marjaiyyat which we so quickly rush to accuse of causing disunity amongst us!
On a final note, History tell us that in the 16th century, as Mongol armies were about to overrun Baghdad, the Muslim world was too busy fighting among itself over apparently a far more pertinent matter: whether it is permissible to consume owl meat or not! While they were busy discussing this issue, Baghdad was captured and run over. Today, as we face enemies and calamities from all sides, let us learn from our own history, let us cease from wasting so much time and energy complaining about such trivial matters, let us unite under the banner of the Marjaiyyat, and let us focus on the greater problems that threaten to overrun our communities and the Muslim Ummah today. Remember the famous statement of Ayt. Khomeini (r.a.) who used to say: "Muslim world is fighting whether to keep hands open or closed during prayers, forgetting that enemies are ever ready and waiting for the chance to chop those hands."

FROM I.M.A.M Us religious affair office
It is no secret that the blessed month of Ramadhan is one of the most prominent examples of worship to Allah and seeking His pleasure. At the same time, it is an opportunity to train ones self and to purify it through socialization on the level of group recitation of the holy Quran, gatherings of remembering Allah through supplication and the attainment of knowledge, which reaches its climax on the valuable nights of significance (Qadr). After which all prepare for the divine gift of the joyous day of Eid. There are some who will have mixed emotions when it comes to this great day because of the diverse verdicts with respect to the crescent moon sighting, which in turn result in a variation in ascertaining the day of Eid. Therefore, the question that comes up every year is repeated, is it truly such a great hurdle that has no solution, and if there is a solution, in whose hands is it?
The answer is that there is a practical solution that has been implemented. This solution, is in the hands of the believers themselves when they are at the highest level of awareness and understanding of the Islamic laws, and at the highest levels of precaution. Therefore, for those who truly want a solution, we bring the following to their attention:
 It is obvious that:
o With the Greater occultation of Imam Al-Mahdi, may Allah hasten his appearance, come several challenges. One of these challenges is the absence of the ability to ascertain the actuality of the Islamic verdict. Therefore, no one other than the infallible Imam (atf) knows the actual reality, in its entirety, such that they can claim that one opinion is correct while the others are wrong. Therefore, we must be accepting of other juristic opinions that are rooted in the knowledge of the holy household of Prophet Muhammad (saw).
o The jurists are the ones that have the ability to derive Islamic laws. Without a doubt, the very nature of the derivation of Islamic laws means a diversity of juristic opinions and verdicts. Proving the sighting of the crescent moon is one such issue that has been subject to diverse juristic opinions during the period of the greater occultation. Therefore, we must be accepting of other juristic opinions that are rooted in the knowledge of the holy household of Prophet Muhammad (saw).
o The sighting of the crescent mooning is proven through the sighting of two just witnesses. The term just means a Muslim who is of the twelver (ithna Asherie) school of thought who is consistent in fulfilling his religious obligations (al-wajebat) and who refrains from performing the forbidden acts (al-maharramat). The sighting of the crescent moon is NOT proven through the news of a trustworthy individual who has not actually sighted the moon. Therefore, it is important to know the religious ruling for the actual witnessing of the crescent moon.
o Contentment, in the religious context, is personal and others may not be bound by ones personal contentment with the witnessing of the crescent moon. Therefore, contentment is not proof upon others and others are not bound by it.
o The offices of the grand jurists have web sites through which one can communicate directly if one wants to know a religious ruling, or this can be done through their dependable agents across the world. Therefore, there is no reason to disseminate the opinion of a jurist without checking with the proper resources.
o The jurists do not disagree with the astronomical data, in as much as they are concerned with it providing knowledge and contentment in the actual sighting of the crescent moon. There is no doubt that the astronomers are the experts in providing accurate calculations, however, they make it clear that their calculations are mathematical predictions and do not give certainty of the actual time and location that the crescent moon can be sighted. Therefore, the predictions of the scientists of astronomy are not binding, except if they give contentment.
 Practical Solutions:
o It is important to emulate the grand jurists themselves, three of whom are in the holy city of Najaf, Ayatuallah Sh. al-Fayyadh, Ayatullah Sayyid al-Hakim, and Ayatullah Basheer al-Najafi (may Allah prolong their lives) who differ in their verdict of the unity of sighting horizons with Grand Ayatullah Sayyid Sistani. On more than one occasion, out of respect for the grand jurist and to unify their followers, they called upon their followers to delay the announcement of Eid and performed the Eid prayer the next day. Therefore, we must follow suit by priority since we do emulate them.
o In the period of the greater occultation, the Eid prayer is recommended (not obligatory) and performing it on the next day is acceptable according to the jurists, with the intention of rajaa. Therefore, there is a religious allowance to do so.
o Parents should sacrifice by taking a two-day vacation from work to provide joy and happiness to every member of the family. Such a sacrifice will be rewarded by increased wealth and blessings on the entire household because one brought happiness into the lives of the believers. Therefore, that which we do outside of Eid should be done on this occasion too.
o It is important to show understanding of the difficulty of unifying the day of Eid, which will not occur as long as the Imam (atf) is in his occultation and the door to juristic derivation of Islamic law stands. We should show transparency and tolerance by accepting such diversity and educating others and ourselves. Are we not accepting of diversity in other facets of our lives? Why not do the same when it comes to Eid?Therefore, there should be no reason not to open our Islamic centers to all, without bias to one group over another.
In conclusion, the solution is in our hands - if we the believers decide to do so. The journey of a thousand miles begins with a step. Will you be of those who will begin educating people and distributing the information, and contributing to the joy and happiness of the community on the days of Eid? Or, will you be apathetic towards these solutions and as a result become of those who will not spread awareness and do good deeds? Allah does not change a people until they change that which within themselves.
An Article on completion of the Holy Month
leave the month of seeking nearness to Ar Rahmaan, the school of Imaan and an opportunity to recharge our spiritual batteries. In the previous nights, we prayed, offered charity and attended lectures. What will happen now? Have we fulfilled the requirements of Taqwa and graduated from this school with the diploma of the God Fearing? The night of Eid ul fitr is a majestic night. It is beneficial to keep awake for Ibadah as this night is of equal importance as the night of Qadr. Eid must not just mark the end of Ramadhan. Rather, it should be a new beginning, where we emulate our character and Islamic values, which we have focused upon for the past 30 days. We are like a child out of the womb, pure and innocent. Eid is the day of victory as we have succeeded in subduing our desires and purified ourselves. Lets not wash away our good deeds and revert to our merry old ways. Let the masjid still overflow with worshippers, let the Quran be the most essential part of our lives instead of letting it gather dust on our shelves. Our condition should be better than before Ramadhan month.
Eid is not just a ritual that provides us with an excuse to enjoy ourselves. It represents important values and participating in them, we seek to please the Almighty and attain nearness to Him.
Eid al-Fitr
is a great day of festival for Muslims. It is a day of rejoicing and being
happy. But for whom? Is it the day of rejoicing for those who simply put on new
clothes and wear perfume? Or is it the day of being happy for those who were
eagerly waiting for the release of the greatest enemy of mankind, Satan, from
his captivity so that they all revert to committing sins? Unfortunately, many
Muslims abstain from sins during the month of Ramadhan, but come Eid, they go
back to what they were before! Cassettes of prayers, which were in their cars
during the holy month, are thrown back into their cases and replaced with those,
which are unlawful, by Shari'ah. The forbidden places from which they had
abstained for month long, are infact the same places they go to celebrate Eid.
Just as, when a person goes to a college, or a university and at the completion
of his course, he receives his award marking his achievement, we must understand
that, the holy month of Ramadhan is a spiritual university where we are being
trained to achieve Taqwa i.e. piety. The day of Eid al-Fitr is when Allah
(SWT) is awarding us for our achievements.

asked after reading the verse:
1. Why does Nabi Īsa say it would be an Eid for them if the food came from
heaven?
2. What does the word Eid actually mean?
3. Is good food a condition for Eid?
In Tafsīr-e Namune, Ayatullah Makarim Shirazi explains what Eid really means.
The word Eid comes fromawada, meaning to return. For example, the day
when a nation becomes free of its difficulties and returns to its original state
of ease and comfort, it is a day of Eid for them. Nabi Īsā (a) said it would be
a day of Eid for them because the witnessing of food being sent from heaven
would instill certainty and faith in the heart of the disciples. They would then
return to the original fitrat of
the human being, in which there is no doubt and skepticism. Eating good food is
a manifestation of the happiness felt by the believer at his return to the state
of original purity.
The day of Eid thus has the following significances for the believer:
1) A return to purity: The
original state of the soul of the human beings is pure and tranquil. In the
world a lot of dirt and corruption changes it. When after a period of cleansing
and purifying, it returns to its original state, the day becomes an Eid for the
human being. Thus Eid-ul-Fitr is a return to original purity after the period of
fasting and worship during the month of Ramadan. Imam Ali (a) says: Every
day that you do not commit a sin in is a day of Eid for you. (MH, H.
14304)
2) A cause of happiness: The
believer is happy that he has been able to fulfill the commands of Allah and is
promised the reward of forgiveness and mercy. This gives great joy to his heart.
The happiness is then manifested in good clothes, delicious foods, and meeting
with fellow believers. Every believer rejoices on the day of Eid, for having
being given the tawfīq and
chance to worship and fast for Allah. The happiness is not because the month has
ended.
3) An occasion for gratitude. Allah
says in the Holy Quran about completing the month of fasting; . . . that
you should complete the number and exalt the greatness of Allah for His having
guided you, and that you may give thanks. (2:185): Believers are grateful
for the strength given to them by Allah to have fasted and prayed during the
holy month.
As you prepare for Eid feel happy and grateful for the right reasons. Then it
will truly be an Eid for you as ordained by Allah.

Eid According to Masumeen a.s.
On the day of Eid-ul-Fitr, Imam Ali (as) delivered a sermon in which he said:"O people! Verily this day of yours is the day when the righteous are awarded and the wretched are losers.
It is a day which is similar to the one on which you shall be standing (before your Lord).
Therefore, when you come out of your homes to go to places of your prayer,
remind yourselves about the day when you (your souls) shall come out of your bodies to go to your Lord.
When you stand on places of your prayer, remind yourselves of your standing in the presence of your Lord (on the day of Judgment).
And when you return to your homes (after prayer), remind yourselves about your returning to your homes in Paradise.
O Servants of Allah! Verily the minimum reward for those men and women who fasted (during Ramadan),
is an Angel, who calls out to them on the last day of the month of Ramadan (saying):
O
SERVANTS OF ALLAH! REJOICE THE GLAD TIDING THAT ALL YOUR PREVIOUS SINS HAVE BEEN
FORGIVEN.
Imam Ali (as) has defined Eid as:'Any day that is free of rebellion (or disobedience) against Allah swt.'
He is quoted as saying:"'Eid is for those whose fasts have been accepted and whose salaat are worthy of reckoning and every day when one does not commit a sin it is Eid"(Nahjul Balaghah, Maxim no. 428)
Imam Ali (as) gave one further formula for us to use always:"Remember
Allah and He will remember you."
The Imam (as) explained that one who adheres to the commandments of ALLAH swt is protected by Him.
Imam Al-Ridha (as) said:Eid
is a day of unity. Hence, it is a day to give thanks and reaffirm faith in His
favours and praise Him.
Eid day is the first day when eating and drinking is once again permitted during daylight hours.
So, for the seekers of Truth, Eid Al Fitr is the first day of the year.
In the Qunoot of the Salaatul Eid, Imam Al-Baqir (as), beseeches Allah (swt):here
he sought that which ALLAH swt's goodly souls wished to acquire from him, as
well as protection from those matters that the goodly souls wished to be
protected from.
Imam Al-Baqir (as)also reminded us of the sadness that accompanies the day of Eid,
the sadness of the usurpation of the rights of the Ahlul Bayt (as) and the
violation of human rights.
The Imam of our Time, Imam Al-Asr (atfs), has captured this sadness in the Du'a
Nudbah
(Supplication of Lamentation), which has been recommended to recite on Eid.
The message of Eid Ul-Fitr is that no Muslim remains hungry on this day.
It is a day that the rich and the poor enjoy happiness of the day, as the well-off give Fitrah to the less well off.
The Fitrah ensures acceptance of the fast
Imam Al-Sadiq (as) has explained:Fasts remain suspended between the earth and the heavens until Fitrah is executed.
The emphasis on Fitrah is so much that a family capable of giving just one person's Fitrah
can rotate that self-same Fitrah among every member of that family and fulfil this obligation.
Indeed, a poor man receiving charity too should pay Fitrah from the Sadaqat he receives.
Thus, the rejoicing on the day of Eid is to obey Allah (swt) and serve humanity,
the twin purpose of Al-Islam that The Prophet (saw) defined for humanity.
In conclusion we should pray together to Allah (swt) to accept our deeds done during
this Holy Month
and to make us continue the good work and practices attained in this blessed month. Ameen.
