You may then throw yourself on the tomb, kiss it, and say the following words:

I bear witness that you can hear my words |

wa ashhadu laka y waliyya allhi bilbalghi wal-ad'i |
And I testify to you, O Allahs friend, that you conveyed and fulfilled. |

O my master! O Allahs argument! |
y amna allhi y waliyya allhi |
O Allahs trustee! O Allahs friend! |
inna bayn wa bayna allhi `azza wa jalla dhunban |
Between me and Allah, to Whom all might and majesty belong, there are sins |
qad athqalat ahr |
that have overburdened my back |
wa mana`atn min alrruqdi |
and deprived me of sleep; |
wa dhikruh yuqalqilu ash' |
whenever I remember them, even my insides shiver. |
wa qad harabtu il allhi `azza wa jalla wa ilayka |
I thus flee to Allah, to Whom all might and majesty belong, and to you. |
fabiaqqi man i'tamanaka `al sirrih |
I beg you in the name of Him Who has entrusted you with His secrets, |
wastar`ka amra khalqih |
appointed you as the supervisor over the affairs of His creatures, |
wa qarana `ataka bi`atih |
matched the obedience to you to the obedience to Him, |
wa muwaltaka bimuwltih |
and matched the loyalty to you to the loyalty to Him |
kun l il allhi shaf`an |
that you may intercede for me before Allah, |
wa min alnnri mujran |
rescue me from Hellfire, |
wa `al alddahri ahran |
and aid me against the vicissitudes of my time. |
You may then throw yourself on the tomb again, kiss it, and say the following words:
y waliyya allhi |
O Allahs friend! |
y ujjata allhi |
O Allahs argument! |
y bba iati allhi |
O Allahs door of forgiveness! |

I, your adherent, visitor, |
wall'idhu biqabrika |
seeker of refuge with your tomb, |
walnnzilu bifin'ika |
residing in your courtyard, |
walmunkhu ralah f jiwrika |
staying in your vicinity, |
yas'aluka an tashfa`a lah il allhi f qa'i jatih |
(I) beg you to intercede for me before Allah that He may grant my needs |
wa nuji alibatih f aldduny wal-khirati |
and may respond to my requests for this life as well as the life to come, |
fa'inna laka `inda allhi aljha al`ama |
because you enjoy an enormous position with Allah, |
walshshaf`ata almaqblata |
as well as admitted right of intercession. |
faj`aln y mawlya min hammika |
So, O my master, include me with those for whom you care |
wa adkhiln f izbika |
and include me with your party. |
wa alssalmu `alayka wa `al aj`ayka dama wa nin |
Peace be upon you and upon your partners in place; Adam and Noah. |
wa alssalmu `alayka wa `al waladayka alasani walusayni |
Peace be upon you and upon your two sons; al-asan and al-usayn, |
wa `al al-a'immati alhirna min dhurriyyatika |
and upon the immaculate Imams from your progeny. |
wa ramatu allhi wa baraktuh |
Allahs mercy and blessings be upon you. |
You may then offer a six-unit prayer of ziyrah; two for visiting Amr al-Mu'minn (a), two for visiting Prophet Adam (a), and two for visiting Prophet Noah (a). You may also supplicate Almighty Allah as earnestly as possible, for your prayers are responded at this place, Allah willing.
The author of al-Mazr al-Kabr says that this form of ziyrah is dedicated to the seventeenth day (of Rab` al-Awwal) at sunrise. Commenting on this form of ziyrah, `Allmah al-Majlis says that it is one of the most favorable formulas that has been reported through authoritative chains of authority and has been written down in authentic reference books. According to some narrations that reported this form, it is not dedicated to this day; therefore, it is recommended to visit the holy tomb of Imam `Al (a) with this form of ziyrah at any time.
