الصَّلَاةُ عَلَى حَمَلَةِ الْعَرْشِ و كلّ مَلَكٍ مقرّبٍIn
Calling down Blessings on the Bearers of the Throne and
every angel brought near

O God, as for the Bearers of Thy Throne, who never
flag in glorifying Thee,
اللَّهُمَّ وَحَمَلَةُ عَرْشِكَ الَّذِينَ لا
يَفْتُرُونَ مِنْ تَسْبِيحِكَ،

never become weary of calling Thee holy,
وَلا يَسْـأَمُـونَ مِنْ تَقْـدِيْسِكَ،
2
3
never tire of worshipping Thee,
وَلا يَسْتَحسِرُونَ مِنْ عِبَادَتِكَ،
3
4
never prefer curtailment over diligence in Thy
command,
وَلاَ يُؤْثِرُونَ التَّقْصِيرَ عَلَى الْجِدِّ فِي
أَمْرِكَ،

and are never heedless of passionate love for Thee;
وَلا يَغْفُلُونَ عَنِ الْوَلَهِ إلَيْكَ.

Seraphiel, the Owner of the Trumpet, fixed in his
gaze, awaiting
وَإسْرافِيْلُ صَاحِبُ الصُّوْرِ، الشَّاخِصُ الَّذِي
يَنْتَظِرُ

Thy permission and the descent of the Command, that
he may arouse through the Blast
مِنْكَ الاذْنَ وَحُلُولَ الامْرِ، فَيُنَبِّهُ
بِالنَّفْخَةِ

the hostages thrown down in the graves; Michael,
possessor of standing with Thee
صَرْعى رَهَائِنِ الْقُبُورِ. وَمِيكَآئِيلُ ذُو
الْجَاهِ عِنْدَكَ،
8
9
and a raised up place in Thy obedience;
وَالْمَكَانِ الرَّفِيعِ مِنْ طَاعَتِكَ.

Gabriel, entrusted with Thy revelation,
وَجِبْريلُ الامِينُ عَلَى وَحْيِكَ،
10
11
obeyed by the inhabitants of Thy heavens,
الْمُطَاعُ فِي أَهْلِ سَمَاوَاتِكَ،
11
12
distinguished in Thy Presence, brought nigh to Thee;
الْمَكِينُ لَدَيْكَ، الْمُقَرَّبُ عِنْدَكَ،
12
13
the spirit who is over the angels of the veils;
وَالرُّوحُ الَّذِي هُوَ عَلَى مَلائِكَةِ الْحُجُبِ،
13
14
and the spirit who is of Thy command -
وَالرُّوحُ الَّذِي هُوَ مِنْ أَمْرِكَ.

O God! bless them and the angels below them:
أَللَّهُمَّ فَصَلِّ عليهم وَعَلَى الْمَلاَئِكَـةِ

the residents in Thy heavens,
الَّـذِينَ مِنْ دُونِهِمْ مِنْ سُكَّـانِ
سَمَاوَاتِكَ
16
17
those entrusted with Thy messages,
وَأَهْلِ الامَانَةِ عَلَى رِسَالاَتِكَ،
17
18
those who become not wearied by perseverance,
وَالَّذِينَ لا تَدْخُلُهُمْ سَأْمَةٌ مِنْ دؤُوب ،
18
19
or exhausted and flagged by toil,
وَلاَ إعْيَاءٌ مِنْ لُغُوب وَلاَ فُتُورٌ،
19
20
whom passions distract not from glorifying Thee,
وَلاَ تَشْغَلُهُمْ عَنْ تَسْبِيحِكَ الشَّهَوَاتُ،
20
21
and whose magnification of Thee is never cut off by
the inattention of heedless moments;
وَلا يَقْطَعُهُمْ عَنْ تَعْظِيمِكَ سَهْوُ
الْغَفَـلاَتِ،
21
22
their eyes lowered, they do not attempt to look at
Thee;
الْخُشَّعُ الابْصارِ فلا يَرُومُونَ النَّظَرَ
إلَيْكَ ،
22
23
their chins bowed, they have long desired what is
with Thee;
النَّواكِسُ الاذْقانِ الَّذِينَ قَدْ طَالَتْ
رَغْبَتُهُمْ فِيمَا لَدَيْكَ

unrestrained in mentioning Thy boons,
الْمُسْتَهْتِرُونَ بِذِكْرِ آلائِكَ
24
25
they remain humble before Thy mightiness and the
majesty of Thy magnificence;
وَالْمُتَوَاضِعُونَ دُونَ عَظَمَتِكَ وَجَلاَلِ
كِبْرِيآئِكَ

those who say when they look upon Gehenna roaring
over the people who disobeyed Thee:
وَالَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ إذَا نَظَرُوا إلَى جَهَنَّمَ
تَزْفِرُ عَلَى أَهْلِ مَعْصِيَتِكَ:

'Glory be to Thee, we have not worshipped Thee with
the worship Thou deservest!'
سُبْحَانَكَ مَا عَبَدْنَاكَ حَقَّ عِبَـادَتِكَ.

Bless them, and Thy angels who are the Reposeful,
فَصَـلِّ عَلَيْهِمْ وَعَلَى الرَّوْحَانِيِّينَ مِنْ
مَلائِكَتِكَ،

those of proximity to Thee, those who carry the
unseen to Thy messengers,
وَ أهْلِ الزُّلْفَةِ عِنْدَكَ، وَحُمَّالِ الْغَيْبِ
إلى رُسُلِكَ،

30
those entrusted with Thy revelation, the tribes of
angels whom Thou hast singled out for Thyself,
وَالْمُؤْتَمَنِينَ على وَحْيِكَ وَقَبائِلِ
الْمَلائِكَةِ الَّذِينَ اخْتَصَصْتَهُمْ لِنَفْسِكَ،

freed from need for food and drink by their calling
Thee holy,
وَأَغْنَيْتَهُمْ عَنِ الطَّعَامِ والشَّرَابِ
بِتَقْدِيْسِكَ،
31
32
and made to dwell inside Thy heavens' layers,
وَأسْكَنْتَهُمْ بُطُونَ أطْبَـاقِ سَمَاوَاتِكَ،
32

those who will stand upon the heavens' borders when
the Command descends to complete Thy promise,
وَالّذينَ عَلَى أرْجَآئِهَا إذَا نَزَلَ الامْرُ
بِتَمَامِ وَعْدِكَ،

the keepers of the rain, the drivers of the clouds,
وَخزّانِ الْمَطَرِ وَزَوَاجِرِ السَّحَابِ،

him at whose driving's sound is heard the rolling of
thunder,
وَالّذِي بِصَوْتِ زَجْرِهِ يُسْمَعُ زَجَلُ
ألرُّعُوْدِ،
35
36
and when the reverberating clouds swim before his
driving, bolts of lightning flash;
وَإذَا سَبَحَتْ بِهِ حَفِيفَةُ السّحَـابِ الْتَمَعَتْ
صَوَاعِقُ الْبُرُوقِ.

the escorts of snow and hail, the descenders with
the drops of rain when they fall,
وَمُشَيِّعِيْ الْثَلْجِ وَالْبَرَدِ. وَالْهَابِطِينَ
مَعَ قَطْرِ الْمَطَر إَذَا نَزَلَ،

38
the watchers over the treasuries of the winds,
وَالْقُوَّامِ عَلَى خَزَائِنِ الرّيَاحِ،
38

those charged with the mountains lest they
disappear,
وَ المُوَكَّلِينَ بِالجِبَالِ فَلا تَزُولُ.

40
those whom Thou hast taught the weights of the
waters
وَالَّذِينَ عَرَّفْتَهُمْ مَثَاقِيلَ الْمِياهِ،
40
41
and the measures contained by torrents and masses of
rain;
وَكَيْلَ مَا تَحْوِيهِ لَوَاعِجُ الامْطَارِ
وَعَوَالِجُهَا،

42
the angels who are Thy messengers to the people of
the earth with the disliked affliction that comes
down
وَرُسُلِكَ مِنَ الْمَلائِكَةِ إلَى أهْلِ الارْضِ
بِمَكْرُوهِ مَا يَنْزِلُ مِنَ الْبَلاءِ،

and the beloved ease; the devoted, noble scribes,
وَمَحْبُوبِ الرَّخَآءِ، والسَّفَرَةِ الْكِرَامِ
اَلبَرَرَةِ،
43
44
the watchers, noble writers, the angel of death and
his helpers,
وَالْحَفَظَةِ الْكِرَامِ الْكَاتِبِينَ، وَمَلَكِ
الْمَوْتِ وَأعْوَانِهِ،
44
45
Munkar and Nakir, Rumaan, the tester in the graves,
وَمُنْكَر وَنَكِير، وَرُومَانَ فَتَّانِ الْقُبُورِ،
45
46
the circlers of the Inhabited House, Malik
وَالطَّائِفِينَ بِالبَيْتِ الْمَعْمُورِ، وَمَالِك،
46
47
and the guardians, Ridwan and the gatekeepers of the
gardens,
وَالْخَزَنَةِ، وَرُضْوَانَ، وَسَدَنَةِ الْجِنَانِ
47
48
those who "disobey not God in What He commands them
and do What they are commanded" (66:6);
وَالَّذِيْنَ لاَ يَعْصُوْنَ اللّهَ مَا أمَرَهُمْ
وَيَفْعَلُونَ مَا يُؤْمَرُونَ.

those who say, "Peace be upon you, for that you were
patient - and fair is the Ultimate Abode" (13:24);
وَالَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ: سَلاَمٌ عَلَيْكُمْ بِمَا
صَبَرْتُمْ فَنِعْمَ عُقْبَى الـدّارِ.

the Zabaniya, who, when it is said to them, "take
him, and fetter him,
والزّبانيةُ الذّينَ إذَا قِيْـلَ لَهُمْ: خُذُوهُ
فَغُلُّوْهُ

then roast him in hell" (69:30), hasten to
accomplish it, nor do they give him any respite;
ثُمَّ الْجَحِيمَ صَلُّوْهُ ابْتَدَرُوهُ سِرَاعاً
وَلَمْ يُنْظِرُوهُ.

him whom we have failed to mention, not knowing his
place with Thee,
وَمَنْ أوْهَمْنَا ذِكْرَهُ، وَلَمْ نَعْلَمْ
مَكَانَهُ مِنْكَ،

nor with which command Thou hast charged him; and
the residents in the air, the earth, and the water,
وَبأيِّ أمْر وَكَّلْتَهُ. وَسُكّانُ الْهَوَآءِ
وَالارْضِ وَالمآءِ،

and those of them charged over the creatures; bless
them
وَمَنْ مِنْهُمْ عَلَى الْخَلْقِ فَصَلِّ عَلَيْهِمْ

on the day when "every soul will come, with it a
driver and a witness" (50:21),
يَوْمَ تَأْتي كُلُّ نَفْس مَعَهَا سَائِقٌ وَشَهِيدٌ،
55
56
and bless them with a blessing that will add honour
to their honour
وَصَلّ عَلَيْهِمْ صَلاَةً تَزِيدُهُمْ كَرَامَةً عَلى
كَرَامَتِهِمْ،

and purity to their purity.
وَطَهَارَةً عَلَى طَهَارَتِهِمْ

O God, and when Thou blessest Thy angels and Thy
messengers
اللّهُمَّ وَإذَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَى مَلاَئِكَتِكَ
وَرُسُلِكَ،

and Thou extendest our blessings to them, bless us
وَبَلَّغْتَهُمْ صَلاَتَنَا عَلَيْهِمْ، فَصَلِّ
عَلَينا

through the good words about them which Thou hast
opened up for us! Thou art Munificent, Generous.
بِمَا فَتَحْتَ لَنَا مِنْ حُسْنِ الْقَوْلِ فِيْهِمْ
إنَّكَ جَوَاْدٌ كَرِيمٌ .

those charged with the mountains lest they disappear,
those whom Thou hast taught the weights of the waters
and the measures contained by torrents and masses of rain;
the angels who are Thy messengers to the people of the earth
with the disliked affliction that comes down
and the beloved ease;
the devoted, noble scribes,
the watchers, noble writers,
the angel of death and his helpers,
Munkar and Nakir,
Rumaan, the tester in the graves,
the circlers of the Inhabited House,
Malik and the guardians,
Ridwan and the gatekeepers of the gardens,
those who disobey not God in What He commands them
and do What they are commanded;
those who say, Peace be upon you, for that you were patient
and fair is the Ultimate Abode;
the Zabaniya, who, when it is said to them,
take him, and fetter him,
then roast him in hell,
hasten to accomplish it,
nor do they give him any respite;
him whom we have failed to mention,
not knowing his place with Thee,
nor with which command Thou hast charged him;
and the residents in the air, the earth, and the water,
and those of them charged over the creatures;
bless them on the day when every soul will come,
with it a driver and a witness,
and bless them with a blessing that will add
honour to their honour
and purity to their purity.
O God,
and when Thou blessest Thy angels and Thy messengers
and Thou extendest our blessings to them,
bless us through the good words about them
which Thou hast opened up for us!
