الصَّلَاةُ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِBlessings
upon God's Messenger

Praise belongs to God who was kind to us
وَالْحَمْدُ للهِ الَّذِي مَنَّ عَلَيْنَا
1
2
through Muhammad, His Prophet (God bless him and his
Household)
بِمُحَمَّد نَبِيِّهِ صَلَّى الله عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ
2
3
to the exclusion of past communities and bygone
generations,
دُونَ الاُمَمِ الْمَاضِيَةِ وَالْقُـرُونِ
السَّالِفَةِ
3
4
displaying thereby His power, which nothing can
render incapable though it be great,
بِقُدْرَتِهِ الَّتِي لاَ تَعْجِزُ عَنْ شَيْء وَ إنْ
عَظُمَ
4
5
and nothing can escape though it be subtle.
وَ لا يَفُوتُهَا شَيءٌ وَإنْ لَطُفَ،
5
6
He sealed through us all He created,
فَخَتَمَ بِنَاعَلَى جَمِيع مَنْ ذَرَأَ
6
7
appointed us witnesses over those who deny,
وَ جَعَلَنَا شُهَدَاءَ عَلَى مَنْ جَحَدَ
7
8
and increased us by His kindness over those who are
few.
وَكَثَّرَنا بِمَنِّهِ عَلَى مَنْ قَلَّ
8
9
O God, bless Muhammad, entrusted by Thee with Thy
revelation,
اللّهمَّ فَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّد أَمِينِكَ عَلَى
وَحْيِكَ
9
10
distinguished by Thee among Thy creatures,
وَنَجِيبِكَ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ
10
11
devoted to Thee among Thy servants,
وَ صَفِيِّكَ مِنْ عِبَادِكَ
11
12
the imam of mercy, the leader of good,
إمَامِ الرَّحْمَةِ وَقَائِدِ الْخَيْرِ
12
13
the key to blessing,
وَ مِفْتَاحِ الْبَرَكَةِ
13
14
who wearied his soul for Thy affairs,
كَمَا نَصَبَ لاَِمْرِكَ نَفْسَهُ
14
15
exposed his body to detested things for Thy sake,
وَ عَرَّضَ فِيْكَ لِلْمَكْرُوهِ بَدَنَهُ
15
16
showed open enmity toward his next of kin by
summoning to Thee,
وَكَاشَفَ فِي الدُّعَآءِ إلَيْكَ حَامَّتَهُ
16
17
fought against his family for Thy good pleasure,
وَحَارَبَ فِي رِضَاكَ أسْرَتَهُ
17
18
cut the ties of the womb in giving life to Thy
religion,
وَقَطَعَ فِىْ إحْياءِ دِينِكَ رَحِمَهُ
18
19
sent far those close because of their denial,
وَاقصَى الادْنَيْنَ عَلَى جُحُـودِهِمْ
19
20
brought near those far because of their response to
Thee,
وَقَرَّبَ الاقْصَيْنَ عَلَى اسْتِجَابَتِهِمْ لَكَ
20
21
showed friendship to the most distant for Thy sake,
وَ والَى فِيكَ الابْعَدِينَ
21
22
displayed enmity toward the nearest for Thy sake,
وَعَادى فِيكَ الاقْرَبِينَ
22
23
made his soul persevere in delivering Thy message,
وَأدْأبَ نَفْسَهُ فِي تَبْلِيغِ رِسَالَتِكَ
23
24
tired it in summoning to Thy creed,
وَأَتْعَبَهَا بِالدُّعآءِ إلَى مِلَّتِكَ
24

busied it in counselling those worthy of Thy
summons,
وَشَغَلَهَا بِالنُّصْحِ لاَِهْلِ دَعْوَتِكَ
25
26
migrated to the land of exile
وَهَاجَرَ إلَى بِلاَدِ الْغُرْبَةِ
26
27
and the place of remoteness from the home of his
saddlebags,
وَمحَلِّ النَّأيِ عَنْ مَوْطِنِ رَحْلِهِ
27
28
the walkway of his feet, the ground of his birth,
وَمَوْضِـعِ رِجْلِهِ وَمَسْقَطِ رَأسِهِ
28
29
and the intimate abode of his soul, desiring to
exalt Thy religion
وَمَأنَسِ نَفْسِهِ إرَادَةً مِنْهُ لاعْزَازِ
دِيْنِكَ

30
and seeking help against those who disbelieved in
Thee,
واسْتِنْصَاراً عَلَى أَهْلِ الْكُفْرِ بِكَ
30
31
until what he attempted against Thy enemies went
well with him
حَتّى اسْتَتَبَّ لَهُ مَا حَاوَلَ فِي أَعْدَائِكَ
31
32
and what he arranged for Thy friends was
accomplished.
وَاسْتَتَمَّ لَهُ مَا دَبَّرَ فِي أوْلِيآئِكَ
32

He rose up against them seeking victory through
Thine aid,
فَنَهَدَ إلَيْهِمْ مُسْتَفْتِحاً بِعَوْنِكَ
33

becoming strong in spite of his weakness with Thy
help.
وَمُتَقَوِّياً عَلَى ضَعْفِهِ بِنَصْرِكَ
34
35
He fought against them in the centre of their cities
فَغَزَاهُمْ فِي عُقْرِ دِيَارِهِمْ
35
36
and attacked them in the midst of their dwellings,
وَهَجَمَ عَلَيْهِمْ فِي بُحْبُوحَةِ قَرَارِهِمْ
36
37
until Thy command prevailed,
حَتّى ظَهَر أَمْرُكَ
37
38
and Thy word rose up, though the idolaters were
averse.
وَعَلَتْ كَلِمَتُكَ وَلَوْ كَرِهَ الْمُشْرِكُونَ
38
39
O God, so raise him, because of his labours for Thy
sake,
اللَهُمَّ فَارْفَعْهُ بِمَا كَدَحَ فِيكَ
39
40
to the highest degree of Thy Garden,
إلَى الدَّرَجَةِ الْعُلْيَا مِنْ جَنَّتِكَ
40
41
that none may equal him in station,
حَتَّى لاَ يُسَاوَى فِي مَنْزِلَة
41
42
none may match him in level,
وَلا يُكَاْفَأَ فِي مَرْتَبَة
42
43
and no angel brought nigh or prophet sent out may
parallel him in Thy sight.
وَلاَ يُوَازِيَهُ لَدَيْكَ مَلَكٌ مُقَرَّبٌ وَلا نبيٌّ
مُرْسَلٌ

And inform him concerning his Household the pure
وَعَرِّفْهُ فِي أهْلِهِ الطّاهِرِينَ
44
45
and his community the faithful of an excellent
intercession,
وَاُمَّتِهِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ مِنْ حُسْنِ الشَّفَاعَةِ
45
46
greater than what Thou hast promised him! O Keeper
of promises!
أجَلَّ مَا وَعَدْتَهُ يَا نَافِذَ الْعِدَةِ
46
47
O Faithful to Thy word! O He who changes evil deeds
into manifold good deeds!
وَافِىَ الْقَوْلِ يَا مُبَدِّلَ السّيِّئات
بِأضْعَافِهَا مِنَ الْحَسَنَاتِ
47
48
Thou art of bounty abounding!
إنَّكَ ذُو الْفَضْلِ الْعَظِيمِ الْجَوَادُ
اَلْكَرِيمُ

Praise belongs to God

though it be great,
and nothing can escape,
though it be subtle.

made his soul persevere

busied it in counselling
those worthy of Thy summons,
migrated to the land of exile and the place of remoteness from
the home of his saddlebags,
the walkway of his feet,
the ground of his birth,
and the intimate abode of his soul,
desiring to exalt Thy religion
and seeking help
against those who disbelieved in Thee,
until what he attempted against Thy enemies
went well with him
and what he arranged for Thy friends
