ṭalaban limā fīhi naylu al-‘ājili min dunyāhum,
Seeking what grants them immediate gain in their worldly life,

wa-daraku al-ājili fī ukhrāhum. Bi-kulli dhālika yuṣliḥu sha’nahum,
And the attainment of the Hereafter in their afterlife. Through all this, He sets their affairs right,

wa-yabluw akhbārahum wa-yanẓuru kayfa hum fī awqāti ṭā‘atih,
And He tests their deeds and observes how they are in the times of His obedience,

wa-manāzili furūḍihī wa-mawāqi‘i aḥkāmih,
And in the stations of His obligations and the instances of His judgments,

li-yajziya alladhīna asā’ū bimā ‘amilū wa-yajziya alladhīna aḥsanū bil-ḥusnā,
So that He may reward those who did evil with what they deserve, and those who did good with the best reward,

Allāhumma fa-laka al-ḥamdu ‘alā mā falaqta lanā mina al-iṣbāḥ,
O Allah, to You belongs praise for the dawn You have brought forth for us,

wa-matta‘tanā bihi min ḍaw’i al-nahār,
And for allowing us to enjoy the light of day,

wa-baṣṣartanā min maṭālibi al-aqwāt,
And for making us aware of the means of sustenance,

wa-waqaytanā fīhi min ṭawāriqi al-āfāt,
And for protecting us in it from sudden calamities,

aṣbaḥnā wa-aṣbaḥati al-ashyā’u kulluhā bi-jumlatihā lak,
We have entered the morning, and all things entirely belong to You,

samā’uhā wa-arḍuhā wa-mā bathatha fī kulli wāḥidin minhumā sākinuhu wa-mutaḥarrikuhu,
Its sky and its earth, and everything You have spread in them, whether stationary or in motion,

wa-muqīmuhu wa-shākhiṣu wa-mā ‘alā fī al-hawā’ wa-mā kanna taḥta al-tharā,
Its dwellers and those moving about, and what rises in the air and what is concealed beneath the soil,

aṣbaḥnā fī qabḍatik,
We have entered the morning in Your grasp,

yaḥwīnā mulkuka wa-sulṭānuka wa-taḍummunā mashī’atuk,
Your dominion and authority encompass us, and Your will governs us,

wa-nataṣarrafu ‘an amrik, wa-nataqallabu fī tadbīrik,
We act only by Your command, and we move through Your management,

laysa lanā mina al-amri illā mā qaḍayt,
We have no control over matters except what You have decreed,

wa-lā mina al-khayri illā mā a‘ṭayt,
And no good except what You have given,

fa-lillāhi ‘azza wa-jalla naḥmaduhu,
So to Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, we offer praise,

wa-‘alā jamī‘i al-umūri nashkuruhu,
And for all matters, we express our gratitude to Him,

nastaḥfiẓuhu ḥifẓa man shaghalaḥu ṭā‘atuh,
We seek His protection, as one who is preoccupied with His obedience,

wa-nastarshiduhu irshāda man lā yaqtaṣiru naẓaruhu ‘alā nafsih,
And we seek His guidance, as one whose vision is not confined to himself alone.

Allāhumma iyyāka na‘budu, wa-iyyāka nasta‘īn,
O Allah, You alone we worship, and You alone we seek for help,

wa-iyyāka narghabu, wa-ilayka nas‘ā,
In You alone we desire, and to You alone we hasten,

wa-iyyāka naḥfidu, wa-iyyāka nakhshā,
You alone we serve diligently, and You alone we fear,

rajā’a raḥmatik, wa-khawfa ‘iqābik,
Hoping for Your mercy and fearing Your punishment,

Allāhumma aj‘al nafsī muṭma’innah bi-qadarik,
O Allah, make my soul content with Your decree,

rāḍiyah bi-qaḍā’ik,
Pleased with Your judgment,

mūla‘ah bi-dhikrika wa-du‘ā’ik,
Passionately devoted to Your remembrance and supplication,

muḥibbatan li-ṣafwatu awliyā’ik,
Loving the chosen ones among Your friends,

Allāhumma wa-mā aṣbaḥtu fīhi mimmā an‘amta bihi ‘alayya,
O Allah, whatever I have entered this morning with, from among Your blessings upon me,

fī dīn aw dunyā, fa-minka waḥdaka lā sharīka lak,
Whether in religion or worldly life, it is from You alone, with no partner beside You,

fa-laka al-ḥamdu bi-dhālik,
So to You belongs all praise for that,

wa-‘alayya al-tamāmu wa-bika al-ladhī zidtanā min faḍlik wa-raḥmatik,
And upon me is the completion of it, and it is through You that You increase us in Your bounty and mercy,

Allāhumma innī aṣbaḥtu ashhaduk, wa-ushhidu malā’ikatak,
O Allah, I have entered this morning bearing witness to You, and I call upon Your angels to witness,

wa-ḥamalata ‘arshik, wa-jamī‘a khalqik,
As well as the bearers of Your Throne and all of Your creation,

annaka anta Allāh, lā ilāha illā anta,
That You are Allah, there is no deity but You,

waḥdaka lā sharīka lak,
You alone, without partner,

wa-anna Muḥammadan ‘abduka wa-rasūluk,
And that Muhammad is Your servant and Messenger,

Allāhumma innī ujadidu laka fī ṣabāḥi yawmī hādhā,
O Allah, I renew for You on this morning of mine,

wa-mā ‘ishtu min ayyāmī, iqrārī bi-waḥdāniyyatik,
And for as long as I live, my acknowledgment of Your Oneness,

wa-ikhlāṣī laka bi-dīnī,
And my sincerity in religion for You,

Allāhumma fa-taqabbal minnī,
O Allah, then accept it from me,

Allāhumma a‘idhnī mina al-shakki wa-al-shirki,
O Allah, protect me from doubt and associating others with You,

wa-an ashrika bika shay’an wa-anā a‘lam,
And from knowingly associating anything with You,

wa-astaghfiruka limā lā a‘lam,
And I seek Your forgiveness for what I do not know.

Allāhumma innī aṣbaḥtu urīduka wa-urīdu al-dāra al-ākhirah,
O Allah, I have entered this morning desiring You and the Hereafter,

fa-a‘idhnī min an akūna fī yawmī hādhā aw laylatī hādhih urīdu fīhimā shay’an yukhālifu dhālik,
So protect me from wanting anything in this day or this night that contradicts that desire.

Allāhumma mā saqaytanā min maṭarin, fa-j‘alhu balāghan wa-ṣaḥīḥan wa-nāfi‘an wa-mubārakan,
O Allah, whatever rain You send upon us, make it sufficient, pure, beneficial, and blessed,

wa-j‘alhu sayban raḥmatan, wa-lā taj‘alhu sayban ‘adhāban wa-lā hadman wa-lā gharqan,
And make it a shower of mercy, and do not make it a shower of punishment, destruction, or drowning.

Allāhumma innī aṣbaḥtu laka ‘abdan, wa-‘alā ‘ahdika wa-wa‘dika,
O Allah, I have entered this morning as Your servant, upon Your covenant and promise,

fa-aḥyinī ‘alā al-īmān, wa-amitnī ‘alā al-islām,
So grant me life upon faith and grant me death upon Islam.

Allāhumma aj‘alnī min ahli al-jannah, wa-a‘idhnī min ahli al-nār,
O Allah, make me among the people of Paradise, and protect me from being among the people of Hellfire,

wa-a‘idhnī min sharri kulli dhī sharr,
And protect me from the evil of every evil being,

wa-a‘idhnī min sharri mā khalaqta wa-dhara’ta wa-bara’ta,
And protect me from the evil of what You have created, spread, and fashioned.

Allāhumma innī as’aluka riḍāka wa-al-jannah, wa-a‘ūdhu bika min sakhaṭika wa-al-nār,
O Allah, I ask You for Your pleasure and Paradise, and I seek refuge in You from Your wrath and Hellfire.

Allāhumma innī as’aluka min khayri mā sa’alaka minhu ‘ibāduka al-ṣāliḥūn,
O Allah, I ask You for the best of what Your righteous servants have asked You for,

wa-a‘ūdhu bika min sharri mā ista‘ādha minhu ‘ibāduka al-mukhlaṣūn,
And I seek refuge in You from the evil from which Your sincere servants have sought refuge.

Allāhumma innī as’aluka al-‘āfiyata fī al-dunyā wa-al-ākhirah,
O Allah, I ask You for well-being in this world and the Hereafter,

wa-as’aluka al-‘afwa wa-al-mu‘āfāta fī dīnī wa-dunyāya wa-ahlī wa-mālī,
And I ask You for pardon and protection in my religion, my worldly affairs, my family, and my wealth.

Allāhumma astur ‘awrātī wa-āmin raw‘ātī,
O Allah, conceal my faults and calm my fears,

wa-aḥfaẓnī min bayni yadayya wa-min khalfī, wa-‘an yamīnī wa-‘an shimālī,
And protect me from what is before me and behind me, from my right and my left,

wa-min fawqī, wa-a‘ūdhu bi-‘aẓamatika an ughtāla min taḥtī,
And from above me, and I seek refuge in Your majesty from being taken from beneath me.

Allāhumma innī as’aluka raḥmatan min ‘indika tahdī bihā qalbī,
O Allah, I ask You for a mercy from You that will guide my heart,

wa-tajma‘u bihā amrī, wa-tulummu bihā sha‘athī,
And through it, unite my affairs and mend what is scattered within me,

wa-taruddu bihā ghā’ibī, wa-tarfa‘u bihā shāhidī,
And return through it what is absent from me, and elevate what is present within me,

wa-tuzakkī bihā ‘amalī, wa-tulhimunī bihā rushdī,
And purify through it my deeds, and inspire me with righteousness,

wa-taruddu bihā ulfatī, wa-ta‘ṣimunī bihā min kulli sū’,
And restore through it my unity, and protect me through it from all harm.

Allāhumma a‘ṭinā īmānan wa-yaqīnan laysa ba‘dahu kufr,
O Allah, grant us faith and certainty after which there is no disbelief,

wa-raḥmatan nanālu bihā sharafa karāmatika fī al-dunyā wa-al-ākhirah,
And mercy through which we attain the honor of Your grace in this world and the Hereafter.

Allāhumma innī as’aluka al-ṣabra ‘inda al-balā’,
O Allah, I ask You for patience in times of trial,

wa-al-fawza ‘inda al-liqā’, wa-manāzila al-shuhadā’,
And success at the time of meeting (You), and the ranks of the martyrs,

wa-‘aysha al-su‘adā’, wa-al-naṣra ‘ala al-a‘dā’,
And the life of the blessed, and victory over enemies.

Allāhumma innī anzilu bika ḥājātī, wa-in qaṣura ra’yī wa-ḍa‘ufa ‘amalī,
O Allah, I bring my needs to You, though my judgment falls short and my deeds are weak,

iftaqartu ilā raḥmatika, fa-as’aluka yā qāḍiya al-umūr,
I am in need of Your mercy, so I ask You, O Disposer of affairs,

wa-yā shāfiya ṣudūri al-makrūbīn, an tujīranī min ‘adhābi al-sa‘īr,
And O Healer of the hearts of the distressed, that You save me from the torment of Hellfire,

wa-an tujīranī min da‘wati al-thabūr, wa-fitnati al-qubūr,
And that You protect me from the cry of despair and the trial of the grave.

Allāhumma faqḍi lanā fī al-khayr, wa-aj‘al lanā mawṭinan fī al-ṣidq,
O Allah, decree goodness for us and grant us a place in truth,

wa-anzilnā fī dāri al-muqāmah wa-al-raḥmah,
And settle us in the abode of permanence and mercy,

wa-arzuqnā al-fawza bi-al-jannah, wa-al-najāta mina al-nār,
And grant us success in attaining Paradise and salvation from the Fire.

Allāhumma aḥsin ‘āqibatana fī al-umūri kullihā,
O Allah, grant us a good outcome in all our affairs,

wa-ajirnā min khizy al-dunyā wa-‘adhābi al-ākhirah,
And save us from the disgrace of this world and the punishment of the Hereafter.

Allāhumma aqsim lanā min khashyatika mā yaḥūlu baynanā wa-bayna ma‘āṣīk,
O Allah, grant us a share of Your reverence that keeps us away from disobeying You,

wa-min ṭā‘atika mā tuballighunā bihi jannatak,
And from Your obedience what will lead us to Your Paradise,

wa-min al-yaqīn mā tuhawwinu bihi ‘alaynā muṣībāti al-dunyā,
And from certainty what makes the trials of this world easy for us.

Allāhumma matti‘nā bi-asmā‘inā, wa-abṣārinā, wa-quwwātinā mā aḥyaytanā,
O Allah, bless us with the use of our hearing, sight, and strength as long as we live,

wa-aj‘alhu al-wāritha minnā,
And make them last until our end,

wa-aj‘al tha’rana ‘ala man ẓalamanā,
And let our vengeance be against those who wrong us,

wa-anṣurnā ‘ala man ‘ādānā,
And grant us victory over those who oppose us.

Allāhumma lā taj‘al muṣībatana fī dīnina,
O Allah, do not make our affliction in our religion,

wa-lā taj‘ali al-dunyā akbara hammīnā, wa-lā mablagha ‘ilminā,
And do not make this world our greatest concern or the extent of our knowledge,

wa-lā tusalliṭ ‘alaynā man lā yarḥamunā,
And do not place over us those who do not have mercy on us.

Allāhumma lā tada‘ lanā fī hādhā al-yawmi dhanban illā ghafartahu,
O Allah, do not leave for us any sin on this day except that You forgive it,

wa-lā hamman illā farrjtahu,
Nor any worry except that You relieve it,

wa-lā daynan illā qaḍaytahu,
Nor any debt except that You settle it,

wa-lā marīḍan illā shafaytahu,
Nor any sick person except that You heal him,

wa-lā mubtalān illā ‘āfaytahu,
Nor any afflicted person except that You grant him well-being,

wa-lā mayyitan illā raḥimtahu,
Nor any deceased except that You have mercy on him,

wa-lā ḥājatan min ḥawā’iji al-dunyā wa-al-ākhirah,
Nor any need of this world or the Hereafter,

illā qaḍaytahā wa-yassartahā bi-raḥmatika yā arḥama al-rāḥimīn,
Except that You fulfill it and make it easy by Your mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful.

Allāhumma ṣalli ‘ala Muḥammadin wa-āli Muḥammad kamā ṣallayta ‘ala Ibrāhīma wa-āli Ibrāhīm,
O Allah, send Your blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, as You sent blessings upon Ibrahim and the family of Ibrahim,

innaka ḥamīdun majīd,
Indeed, You are the Most Praiseworthy, the Most Glorious.
