Supplication 74- Before the Battle of Jamal from Al-Sahifa e Alaviya

دعاؤه في اليوم الثاني منه
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَحْمَدُكَ وَ
أَنْتَ لِلْحَمْدِ أَهْلٌ عَلَى حُسْنِ صُنْعِكَ إِلَيَّ
وَ تَعَطُّفِكَ عَلَيَّ
وَ عَلَى مَا
وَصَلْتَنِي بِهِ مِنْ نُورِكَ
وَ تَدَارَكْتَنِي بِهِ مِنْ رَحْمَتِكَ
وَ أَسْبَغْتَ عَلَيَّ مِنْ نِعْمَتِكَ فَقَدِ اصْطَنَعْتَ‏ عِنْدِي يَا مَوْلَايَ مَا يَحِقُّ لَكَ بِهِ جُهْدِي
وَ شُكْرِي لِحُسْنِ عَفْوِكَ
وَ بَلَائِكَ الْقَدِيمِ عِنْدِي
وَ تَظَاهُرِ نَعْمَائِكَ عَلَيَّ
وَ تَتَابُعِ أَيَادِيكَ لَدَيَّ لَمْ أَبْلُغْ إِحْرَازَ حَظِّي
وَ لَا صَلَاحَ نَفْسِي
وَ لَكِنَّكَ يَا مَوْلَايَ بَدَأْتَنِي أَوَّلًا بِإِحْسَانِكَ فَهَدَيْتَنِي لِدِينِكَ
وَ عَرَّفْتَنِي نَفْسَكَ
وَ ثَبَّتَّنِي فِي أُمُورِي كُلِّهَا بِالْكِفَايَةِ
وَ الصُّنْعِ لِي فَصَرَفْتَ عَنِّي جَهْدَ الْبَلَاءِ [الْقَضَاءِ]
وَ مَنَعْتَ مِنِّي مَحْذُورَ الْأَشْيَاءِ- فَلَسْتُ أَذْكُرُ مِنْكَ إِلَّا جَمِيلًا
وَ لَمْ أَرَ مِنْكَ إِلَّا تَفْضِيلًا يَا إِلَهِي كَمْ مِنْ بَلَاءٍ
وَ جَهْدٍ صَرَفْتَهُ عَنِّي
وَ أَرَيْتَنِيهِ فِي غَيْرِي فَكَمْ مِنْ نِعْمَةٍ أَقْرَرْتَ بِهَا عَيْنِي
وَ كَمْ مِنْ صَنِيعَةٍ شَرِيفَةٍ لَكَ عِنْدِي إِلَهِي أَنْتَ الَّذِي تُجِيبُ عِنْدَ الِاضْطِرَارِ دَعْ
وَتِي
وَ أَنْتَ الَّذِي تُنَفِّسُ عِنْدَ الْغُمُومِ كُرْبَتِي
وَ أَنْتَ الَّذِي تَأْخُذُ لِي مِنَ الْأَعْدَاءِ بِظُلَامَتِي فَمَا
وَجَدْتُكَ
وَ لَا أَجِدُكَ بَعِيداً مِنِّي حِينَ أُرِيدُكَ
وَ لَا مُنْقَبِضاً عَنِّي حِينَ أَسْأَلُكَ
وَ لَا مُعْرِضاً عَنِّي حِينَ أَدْعُوكَ فَأَنْتَ إِلَهِي أَجِدُ صَنِيعَكَ عِنْدِي مَحْمُوداً
وَ حُسْنَ بَلَائِكَ عِنْدِي مَوْجُوداً
وَ جَمِيعَ أَفْعَالِكَ عِنْدِي جَمِيلًا يَحْمَدُكَ لِسَانِي
وَ عَقْلِي
وَ جَ
وَارِحِي
وَ جَمِيعُ مَا أَقَلَّتِ الْأَرْضُ مِنِّي يَا مَوْلَايَ أَسْأَلُكَ بِنُورِكَ الَّذِي اشْتَقَقْتَهُ مِنْ عَظَمَتِكَ
وَ عَظَمَتِكَ الَّتِي اشْتَقَقْتَهَا مِنْ مَشِيَّتِكَ
وَ أَسْأَلُكَ بِاسْمِكَ الَّذِي عَلَا أَنْ تَمُنَّ عَلَيَّ بِ
وَاجِبِ شُكْرِي نِعْمَتَكَ رَبِّ مَا أَحْرَصَنِي عَلَى مَا زَهَّدْتَنِي فِيهِ
وَ حَثَثْتَنِي عَلَيْهِ إِنْ لَمْ تُعِنِّي عَلَى دُنْيَايَ بِزُهْدٍ
وَ عَلَى آخِرَتِي بِتَقْ
وَايَ هَلَكْتُ رَبِّي دَعَتْنِي دَ
وَاعِي الدُّنْيَا مِنْ حَرْثِ النِّسَاءِ
وَ الْبَنِينَ فَأَجَبْتُهَا سَرِيعاً
وَ رَكَنْتُ إِلَيْهَا طَائِعاً
وَ دَعَتْنِي دَ
وَاعِي الْآخِرَةِ مِنَ الزُّهْدِ
وَ الِاجْتِهَادِ فَكَبَوْتُ لَهَا
وَ لَمْ أُسَارِعْ إِلَيْهَا مُسَارَعَتِي إِلَى الْحُطَامِ الْهَامِدِ
وَ الْهَشِيمِ الْبَائِدِ
وَ السَّرَابِ الذَّاهِبِ عَنْ قَلِيلٍ- رَبِّ خَوَّفْتَنِي
وَ شَوَّقْتَنِي
وَ احْتَجَبْتَ عَلَيَّ فَمَا خِفْتُكَ حَقَّ خَوْفِكَ
وَ أَخَافُ أَنْ أَكُونَ قَدْ تَثَبَّطْتُ عَنِ السَّعْيِ لَكَ
وَ تَهَا
وَنْتُ بِشَيْ‏ءٍ مِنِ احْتِجَابِكَ اللَّهُمَّ فَاجْعَلْ فِي هَذِهِ الدُّنْيَا سَعْيِي لَكَ
وَ فِي طَاعَتِكَ
وَ امْلَأْ قَلْبِي خَوْفَكَ
وَ حَوِّلْ تَثْبِيطِي
وَ تَهَاوُنِي
وَ تَفْرِيطِي
وَ كُلَّمَا أَخَافُهُ مِنْ نَفْسِي فَرَقاً مِنْكَ
وَ صَبْراً عَلَى طَاعَتِكَ
وَ عَمَلًا بِهِ يَا ذَا الْجَلَالِ
وَ الْإِكْرَامِ
وَ اجْعَلْ جُنَّتِي مِنَ الْخَطَايَا حَصِينَةً
وَ حَسَنَاتِي مُضَاعَفَةً فَإِنَّكَ تُضَاعِفُ لِمَنْ تَشَاءُ- اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْ دَرَجَاتِي فِي الْجِنَانِ رَفِيعَةً
وَ أَعُوذُ بِكَ رَبِّي مِنْ رَفِيعِ المَطْعَمِ
وَ الْمَشْرَبِ
وَ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا أَعْلَمُ
وَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا لَا أَعْلَمُ
وَ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْفَ
وَاحِشِ كُلِّهَا ما ظَهَرَ مِنْها
وَ ما بَطَنَ
وَ أَعُوذُ بِكَ رَبِّي أَنْ أَشْتَرِيَ الْجَهْلَ بِالْعِلْمِ كَمَا اشْتَرَى غَيْرِي أَوِ السَّفَهَ بِالْحِلْمِ أَوِ الْجَزَعَ بِالصَّبْرِ أَوِ الضَّلَالَةَ بِالْهُدَى أَوِ الْكُفْرَ بِالْإِيمَانِ يَا رَبِّ مُنَّ عَلَيَّ بِذَلِكَ فَإِنَّكَ تَتَ
وَلَّى الصَّالِحِينَ
وَ لَا تُضِيعُ أَجْرَ الْمُحْسِنِينَ-
وَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعالَمِينَ‏ 　

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AHMADOKA WA ANTA LILHAMDE AHLUN A’LAA HUSNE SANEE-E’KA ELAYYA WA TAA’TTOFEKA A’LAYYA WA A’LAA MAA WASALTANEE BEHI MIN NOOREKA WA TADAARAKTANEE BEHI MIN RAHMATEKA WA ASBAGHTA A’LAYYA MIN NE’MATEKA FAQADIS TANA’TA I’NDEE YAA MAWLAAYA MAA YAHIQQO LAKA BEHI JOHDEE WA SHUKREE LE-HUSNE A’FWEKA WA BALAAAEKAL QADEEME I’NDEE WA TOZAAHERO NA’MAAAEKA A’LAYYA WA QATAABO- E’ AYAADEEKA LADAYYA LAM TABLUGH EHRAAZA HAZZEE WA LAA ISLAAHA NAFSEE WA LAAKINNAKA YAA MAWLAAYA BADAA-TANEE AWWALAN BEEHSAANEKA FAHADAYTANEE LEDEENEKA WA A’RRAFTANEE NAFSAKA WA SABBITNEE MAA FEE OMOOREE BILKEFAAYATE KULLEHAA WAS SUN-E’ BEE FASARAFTA A’NNEE JAHDIL BALAAA-E WA MANA’TA MINNEE MAHZOORAL QAZAAA-E FALASTO AZKORO MINKA ILLAA JAMEELAN WE ALAM ARA MINKA ILLAA TAFZEELAN. ELAAHEE KAM MIN BALAAA-IN WA JOHDIN SOREFA SARAFTAHU A’NNEE WA ARAYTANEEHE FEE GHAYREE WA KAM MIN NE’MATIN FEE GHAYREE AQRARTA BEHAA A’YNEE WA KAM MIN SANEE-A’TIN SHAREEFATIN LAKA I’NDEE.
ELAAHEE ANTAL LAZEE TOJEEBO FIL IZTERAARE DA’WAEE WA ANTAL LAZEE TONAFFESO I’NDAL GHOMOOME KURBATEE WA ANTAL LAZEE TAAKHOZO LEE MENAL A-A’DAAA-E BEZOLAAMATEE FAMAA WAJADTOKA WA LAA AJEDOKA BA-E’EDAN MINNEE HEENA OREEDOKA WA LAA MUNQABEZAN A’NNEE HEENA AS-ALOKA WA LAA MO’REZAN A’NNEE HEENA AD-O’OKA.
FA-ANTA ELAAHEE AJEDO SANEEA’KA I’NDEE MAHMOODAN WA HUSNA BALAAA-EKA I’NDEE MAWJOODAN WA JAMEE-A’ AF-A’ALEKA JAMEELAN YAHMADOKA LESAANEE WA A’QLEE WA JAWAAREHEE WA JAMEEO’ MAA AQALLATIL ARZO MINNEE YAA MAWLAAYA AS-ALOKA BE-NOOREKAL LAZISH TAQAQTAHU MIN A’ZAMATEKA WA A’ZAMATEKAL LATISH TAQAQTAHAA MIN MASHIYYATEKA.
WA ASALOKA BE-ISMEKAL LAZEE A’LAA AN TAMUNNA A’LAYYA BE-WAAJEBE SHUKREE NE’MATAKA.
RABBE MAA AHRASANEE A’LAA MAA ZAHHADTANEE FEEHE WA HASASTANEE A’LAYHE WA IN LAM TO-I’NNEE A’LAA DUNYAAYA BE-ZOHDIN WA A’LAA AAKHERATEE BETAQWAAYA HALAKTO RABBEE DA-A’TNEE DAWAA- E’YAD DUNYAA MIN HARSIN NESAAA-E WAL BANEENA FA-AJABTOHAA SAREE-A’N WA RAKANTO ELAYHAA TAAA-E-A’N WA DA-A’TNEE DA-WAA-E’YAL AAKHERATE MENAZ ZOHDE WAL IJTEHAADE FA-KABAWTO LAHAA WA LAM OSAARE’ ELAYHAA MOSAARA-A’TEE ELAL HOTAAMIL HAAMEDE WAL HASHEEMIL BAA-EDE WAS SARAABIZ ZAAHEBE A’N QALEELIN.
RABBE KHAWWAFTANEE WA SHAW-WAQTANEE WAH TAJABTA A’LAYYA FAMAA KHIFTOKA HAQQA KHAWFEKA WA AKHAAFO AN AKOONA QAD TASABBAT-TO ANIS SA’YE LAKA WA TAHAA-WANTO BE-SHAY-IN MIN EHTEJAAJEKA.
ALLAAHUMMA FAJ-A’L FEE HAAZEHID DUNYAA SA’YEE LAKA WA FEE TAAA’TEKA WAM LAA QALBEE KHAWFAKA WA HAWWIL TAS-BEETEE WA TAHAAWONEE WA TAFREETEE WA KULLA MAA AKHAAFOHU MIN NAFSEE FARQAN MINKA WA SABRAN A’LAA TAAA’TEKA WA A’MALAN BEHI YAA ZAL JALAALE WAL IKRAAME WAJ A’L JUNNATEE MENAL KHATAAYAA HASEENATAN WA HASANAATEE MOZAAA’FATAN FA-INNAKA TOZAA- E’FO LEMAN TASHAAA-O.
ALLAAHUMMAJ A’L DARAJAATEE FIL JENAANE RAFEE-A’TAN WA A-O’OZO BEKA RABBE MIN RAFEE-I’L MAT-A’ME WAL MASHRABE WA AO’OZO BEKA MIN SHARRE MAA A-A’LAMO WA MIN SHARRE MAA LAA AA’LAMO WA A-O’OZO BEKA MENAL FAWAAHE-SHA KULLEHAA MAA ZAHARA MINHAA WA MAA BATANA WA A-O’OZO BEKA YAA RABBE AN ASHTAREYAL JAHLA BIL-I’LME KAMASH TARAA GHAYREE AWIS SAFAHA BIL-HILME AWIL JAZA-A’ BIS SABRE AWIZ ZALAALATE BIL-HODAA AWIL KUFRA BIL-EEMAANE YAA RABBE MUNNA A’LAYYA BE-ZAALEKA FAINNAKA TATAWALLAS SAALEHEENA WA LAA TOZEE-O’ AJRAL MOHSENEENA WAL HAMDO LILLAAHE RABBEL A’ALAMEENA

In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
In the name of Allah the Beneficent the Merciful.
O Allah! I praise You as only You are worth the praise, as You have obliged me so much that all my attention is only to You.
Accept my thanks as Your pardon is the best and Your test is since a long time, still the thanks is a protection of my share of bounties, and not for reforming myself.
O Allah! You have obliged me by granting insight of Your religion and recognition of Yourself and have granted Your complete protection in my affairs.
Have mercy on me and avert the difficulties from me.
Keep away Your fearful judgements from me.
I don't remember anything except Your obligation; I have not seen anything except Your grace.
O Allah! So many of the difficulties have been warded off from me by You and was turned towards my enemies and they were involved in it.
And so many of the bounties which were with my enemies, which you turned away from them and bestowed upon me.
And I am also not aware of all Your obligations on me.
O Allah! You are the one who hears my prayers at the time of restlessness, You are the one who watches me at the times of sorrow, You are the one to avenge my enemies.
Neither I have ever found You away from me nor at the times of prayer You are away and I always find You close to me and not only when I call You.
O Allah! I find only Your obligation worth praising and only Your excellent tests is present with me, all Your actions are good my tongue, my intellect, all my parts and all that of mine which is on the earth is full of praise for You.
O Allah! For the sake of Your light which You have created by Your Honour, and by the sake of Your Honour which You have created by Your will, and by the sake of Your name which is high, that bestow upon me the love to thank You obligatorily.
O Lord! Had You not helped me from all those things, which were prohibited for me, and if the fear of the hereafter not instilled in me I would have been destroyed.
O Allah the provisions of this world called me the greed of women and children which I accepted hastily and tilted towards it, and when the provisions of the hereafter invited me towards piety and goodness there I stumbled down but did not go that hastily as I had gone for the things which be destroyed and perish very soon.
O Allah! You scared me, inculcated love in me, explained me with proofs still I was not scared to the extent as it was desired and now I fear that I am not unmindful in obedience to Your commands and in setting up Your proofs.
O Allah! Reserve all my endeavours for Your strength and put Your fear in my heart.
And convert my carelessness, laziness, negligence and all personal fears into Your fear, and obedience and good deeds by Your grace.
O the possessor of Honour and Majesty, make my shield against sins move strong and multiply my good deeds as You can increase whatever You wish.
O Allah! Increase my status in the Heavens, and I seek refuge from all the things which is eaten and drunk, but is prohibited by You, and I wish to be away from the fear of all the known and unknown things, and I seek to be away from the evil of all the things whether apparent or hidden.
O Allah grant me protection from what the others have done ignorance instead of knowledge, haste instead of tolerance, restlessness instead of patience deviation instead of guidance and polytheism instead of faith.
O my Nourisher! Have mercy on me and oblige me because You befriend the doers of good and never turn down their goodness and praise is for the Lord of the worlds.
