Sahifa Alavia 17. Supplication Recited in Morning Prayers at the Time of Dawn
بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ.
Bismil Laahir Rahmaanir Raheem.
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.
اَللّٰہُمَّ اِنَّ ذُنُوْبِیْ وَ اِنْ کَانَتْ قَطِیْعَۃً
Allaahumma inna zonoobee wa in kaanat qatee-a’tan
O Allah! Although my sins are such that deserve severing of relations
فَاِنِّیْ مَا اَرَدْتُ بِہٖ قَطِیْعَۃً وَ لَا اَقُوْلُ لَکَ الْعُتْبٰی
fa-innee maa aradto behi qatee-a’tan wa laa aqoolo lakal u’tbaa
but I don’t desire to sever relations due to my sins,
لَا اَعُوْدُ بِمَا اَعْلَمُہٗ مِنْ خَلَّتِیْ وَ لَا اسْتَتِمُّ التَّوْبَۃَ لِمَا اَعْلَمُہٗ مِنْ ضَعُفِیْ
laa a-o’odo bemaa a-a’lamohu min khallatee wa las tatimmut tawbata lemaa a-a’lamohu min za-o’fee
neither can I speak anything about Your happiness nor can I take refuge due to my wants, nor due to my weakness can I repent fully.
وَ قَدْ جِئْتُ اَطْلُبُ عَفْوَکَ وَ وَسِیْلَتِیْ اِلَیْکَ کَرَمُکَ
wa qad jeato atlobo a’fwaka wa waseelatee elayka karamoka
I have come, so that You overlook my drawbacks. Your mercy is my source
فَصَلِّ عَلٰی مُحَمَّدٍ وَّ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَّ اَکْرِمْنِیْ بِمَغْفِرَتِکَ یَا اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِیْنَ.
fa-salle a’laa mohammadinw wa aale mohammadinw wa akrimnee be-maghferateka yaa arhamar raahemeen.
Bless Muhammad and his progeny and bestow honour on me by Your forgiveness
Then recite 300 times:
اَلْعَفْوَ AL-A’FWA Pardon.
