Supplication 153- Day 30 of the month from Al-Sahifa e Alaviya
بِسْمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحْمٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
bismillahi alrrahmani alrrahimi
In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.
اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ الِ مُحَمَّدٍ
allaahumma salle a’laa mohammadin wa aale mohammadin,
O Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad,
وَ اشْرَحْ لي صَدْري لِلْاِسْلامِ وَ كَرِّمْني بِالْايمانِ
wash rah sadree lilislaame wa akrimnee bil-eemaane,
and expand my breast to Islam, honour me with firm belief
wa qenee a’zaaban naare.
and protect me from the punishment of the Fire.
(Recite the above para seven times and mention your legitimate desires)
اَللَّهُمَّ يا رَبِّ يا رَبِّ يا رَبِّ
allaahumma yaa rabbe yaa rabbe yaa rabbe,
O Allah, O my Lord, O my Lord, O my Lord,
يا قُدُّوسُ يا قُدُّوسُ يا قُدُّوسُ
yaa quddooso yaa quddooso yaa quddooso,
O All-holy, O All-holy, O All-holy,
اَسْأَلُكَ بِاسْمِكَ الْاَعْظَمِ
as-aloka bismekal a-a’zame,
I ask You by Your Mightiest Name,
اللهِ الَّذي لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ هُوَ
allaaho laa elaaha illaa howal
“Allah, there is no god but He...” (2:255),
الْحَقُّ المُبينُ الْحَىُّ الْقَيُّومُ
haqqul mobeenul hayyul qayyoomul
“...the manifest Truth” (24:25), “...the Ever-living, the Self-subsisting
الَّذي لاتَأْخُذُهُ سِنَةٌ وَ لا نَوْمٌ
lazee laa taakhozohu senatun wa laa nawmun
Slumber seizes Him not, neither sleep;
لَهُ ما فِي السَّماواتِ وَ ما فِي الْاَرْضِ
lahu maa fis samaawaate wa maa fil arze
to Him belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth.
مَنْ ذَا الَّذي يَشْفَعُ عِنْدَهُ اِلاَّ بِاِذْنِهِ
man zal lazee yash-fa-o’ i’ndahu illaa be-iznehi
Who is there that will intercede with Him except by His permission ?
يَعْلَمُ ما بَيْنَ اَيْديهِمْ وَ ما خَلْفَهُمْ
ya’lamo maa bayna aydeehim wa maa khalfahum
He knows what lies before them and what is behind them,
وَ لايُحيطُونَ بِشَيْ ءٍ مِنْ عِلْمِهِ اِلاَّ بِما شاءَ
wa laa yoheetoona be-shay-in min i’lmehi illaa bemaa shaa-a
and they comprehend not anything of His knowledge save that which He wills.
وَسِعَ كُرْسِيُّهُ السَّماواتِ وَ الْارْضَ
wase-a’ kursiyyohus samaawaate wal arza
His Throne extends over the heavens and the earth;
وَ لا يَؤُدُهُ حِفْظُهُما وَ هُوَ الْعَلِيِّ الْعَظيمُ
wa laa ya-oodohu hifzohomaa wa howal a’liyyul a’zeemo”,
the preserving of them does not tire Him; He is the Most high, the All-glorious.” (2:255)
اَنْ تُصَلِّىَ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ الِهِ فِي الْاَوَّلينَ
an tosalleya a’laa mohammadin wa aalehi fil awwaleena,
To bless Muhammad and his family among the earlier ones,
وَ اَنْ تُصَلِّىَ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ الِهِ فِي الْاخِرينَ
wa an tosalleya a’laa mohammadin wa aalehi fil aakhereena,
to bless Muhammad and his family among the later ones.
وَ اَنْ تُصَلِّىَ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ الِهِ قَبْلَ كُلِّ شَيْ ءٍ
wa an tosalleya a’laa mohammadin wa aalehi qabla kulle shay-in,
To bless Muhammad and his family before everything,
وَ اَنْ تُصَلِّىَ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ الِهِ بَعْدَ كُلِّ شَيْ ءٍ
wa an tosalleya a’laa mohammadin wa aalehi ba’da kulle shay-in,
to bless Muhammad and his family after every thing,
وَ اَنْ تُصَلِّىَ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ الِهِ
wa an tosalleya a’laa mohammadin wa aalehi
to bless Muhammad and his family
فِي اللَّيْلِ اِذا يَغْشى
fil layle ezaa yaghshaa,
in “...the night enshrouding” (92:1),
وَ اَنْ تُصَلِّىَ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ الِهِ
wa an tosalleya a’laa mohammadin wa aalhei
to bless Muhammad and his family in
فِي النَّهارِ اِذا تَجَلَّى
fin nahaare ezaa tajallaa,
“...the day when it appears radiant” (92:2),
وَ اَنْ تُصَلِّىَ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ الِهِ فِي الْاخِرَةِ وَ الْاُولى
wa an tosalleya a’laa mohammadin wa aalehi fil aakherate wal oolaa,
And to bless Muhammad and his family in “...the end and the beginning” (92:13),
وَ اَنْ تُعْطِيَني سُؤْلي فِي الْاخِرَةِ وَ الدُّنْيا
wa an to’teyanee soalee fil aakherate wad dunyaa,
and to grant me my request in this world and the hereafter
يا حَىُّ حينَ لا حَيَّ يا حَىُّ قَبْلَ كُلِّ حَىٍّ
yaa hayyo heena laa hayya, yaa hayyo qabla kulle hayyin,
O Ever-Living when there was no living thing, O Ever-Living before every living thing,
يا حَيّاً لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اَنْتَ
yaa hayyan laa elaaha illaa anta,
O Ever-Living, there is no god but you,
يا حَىُّ يا قَيُّومُ بِرَحْمَتِكَ اَسْتَغيثُ فَاَغِثْني
yaa hayyo yaa qayyoomo, be-rahmateka astagheeso faaghisnee,
O Living, O Self-subsisting, by Your Mercy I ask You for aid, so aid me
وَ اَصْلِحْ لي شَأْني كُلَّهُ
wa asleh lee shaanee kullahu,
and rectify my affair, all of it,
وَ لا تَكِلْني اِلى نَفْسي طَرْفَةَ عَيْنٍ
wa laa takilnee elaa nafsee tarfata a’ynin.
and leave me not to myself for the twinkling of an eye.
اَلْحَمْدُ لِلهِ رَبِّ الْعالَمينَ
al-hamdo lillaahe rabbil a’alameenar,
“Praise belongs to Allah, the Lord of the worlds, (1:2)
rahmaanir raheem,
The All-merciful, the All-compassionate” (1:3)
laa shareeka laka.
no partner have You.
Recite the underlined four times :
يا رَبِّ اَنْتَ بي رَحيمٌ
yaa rabbe anta bee raheemun,
O my Lord, you are merciful to me;
اَسْأَلُكَ يا رَبِّ بِما حَمَلَ عَرْشُكَ مِنْ عِزِّ جَلالِكَ
as-aloka yaa rabbe bemaa hamala a’rshoka min i’zze jalaaleka,
I ask you, O my Lord, by what Your Throne bears of the Might of your Majesty,
اَنْ تَفْعَلَ بي ما اَنْتَ اَهْلُهُ
an tafa’la bee maa anta ahlohu,
that You do to me what You are worthy of
وَ لاتَفْعَلَ بي ما اَنَا اَهْلُهُ
wa laa tafa’la bee maa anaa ahlohu,
and not what I am worthy of;
فَاِنَّكَ اَهْلُ التَّقْوى وَ اَهْلُ الْمَغْفِرَةِ
fa-innaka ahlut taqwaa wa ahlul maghferah.
Surely You are “...Worthy to be feared, worthy to forgive” (74:56)
اَللَّهُمَّ اِنّي اَحْمَدُكَ حَمْداً اَبَداً جَديداً
allaahumma innee ahmadoka hamdan abadan jadeedan,
O Allah, I praise You with a new, everlasting praise
وَ ثَناءً طارِفاً عَتيداً
wa sanaa-an taareqan a’teedan,
and a ready, present eulogy;
وَ اَتَوَكَّلُ عَلَيْكَ وَحيداً وَ اَسْتَغْفِرُكَ فَريداً
wa atawakkalo a’layka waheedan, wa astaghferoka fareedan,
I rely on you alone and I ask forgiveness from You only.
وَ اَشْهَدُ اَنْ لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اَنْتَ
wa ashhado an laa elaaha illaa anta
I bear witness that there is no god but You.
شَهادَةً اُفْني بِها عُمْري وَ اَلْقى بِها رَبّي
shahaadatan afnaa behaa u’mree, wa alqaa behaa rabbee,
A witnessing with which I will end my life and meet my Lord,
وَ اَدْخُلُ بِها قَبْري وَ اَخْلُو بِها في وَحْدَتي
wa adkholo behaa qabree, wa akhloo behaa fee wahdatee.
and with which I will enter my grave, and be alone with in my solitude (in the grave).
اَللَّهُمَّ وَ اَسْأَلُكَ فِعْلَ الْخَيْراتِ
allaahumma wa asaloka fe’lal khayraate,
O Allah, I ask of you the doing of good deeds,
وَ تَرْكَ الْمُنْكَراتِ وَ حُبَّ الْمَساكينِ
wa tarkal munkaraate wa hubbal masaakeene,
the abandonment of disapproved things and the love of the poor.
وَ اَنْ تَغْفِرَلي وَ تَرْحَمَني
wa an taghfera lee, wa tarhamanee,
And that You forgive me and have mercy on me,
وَ اِذا اَرَدْتَ بِقَوْمٍ سُوءً اَوْ فِتْنَةً
wa ezaa aradta beqawmin soo-an aw fitnatan
and when you intend evil or affliction for a people
اَنْ تَقِيَني ذلِكَ وَ تَرُدَّني غَيْرَ مَفْتُونٍ
an taqeyanee zaaleka, wa taruddanee a’n kulle maftoonin,
that You protect me from that and turn me away from every trial
وَ اَسْأَلُكَ حُبَّكَ وَ حُبَّ مَنْ اَحْبَبْتَ
wa asaloka hubbaka wa hubba man ahbabta,
I ask You for Your Love and the love of those You Love
وَ حُبَّ ما يُقَرِّبُ حُبُّهُ اِلى حُبِّكَ
wa hubba maa yoqarrebo hubbohu elaa hubbeka.
and the love of those whose love causes nearness to Your Love.
اَللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْ لي مِنَ الذُّنُوبِ فَرَجاً وَ مَخْرَجاً
allaahummaj a’l lee menaz zonoobe farajan wa makhrajan,
O Allah, make for me a release and an escape from sins,
وَ اجْعَلْ لي اِلى كُلِّ خَيْرٍ سَبيلاً
waj a’l lee elaa kulle khayrin sabeelaa.
and make for me a way to every good.
اَللَّهُمَّ اِنّي خَلْقٌ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ
allaahumma innee khalqun min khalqeka,
O Allah, I am a creature from among Your creatures
وَ لِخَلْقِكَ عَلَيَّ حُقُوقٌ
wa lekhalqeka a’layya hoqoqun,
and your creatures have rights due from me,
وَ لَكَ فيما بَيْني وَ بَيْنَكَ ذُنُوبٌ
wa laka feemaa baynee wa baynaka zonoob.
and You have (against me) sins, in what is between You and me.
اَللَّهُمَّ فَاَرْضِ عَنّي خَلْقَكَ وَ مَنْ حُقُوقُهُمْ عَلَيَّ
allaahumma farza a’nnee khalqaka wa min hoqooqehim a’layya,
O Allah, make Your creatures satisfied with me concerning their rights,
وَ هَبْ لِيَ الذُّنُوبَ كُلَّها الَّتي بَيْني وَ بَيْنَكَ
wa hab leyaz zonooba kullahal latee baynee wa baynaka.
and forgive me the sins that are between You and me.
اَللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْ فِيَّ خَيْراً تَجِدُهُ
allaahummaj a’l fiyya khayran tajedohu,
O Allah, create in me good that You will find,
فَاِنَّكَ اِنْ لا تَفْعَلْهُ لاتَجِدْهُ عِنْدى
fa-innaka an laa taf-a’lho laa tajidho i’ndee.
for if You do not, then You will not find it in me.
اَللَّهُمَّ خَلَقْتَني كَما اَرَدْتَ فَاجْعَلْني كَما تُحِبُّ
allaahumma khalaqtanee kamaa arad-ta faj-a’lnee kamaa tohibbo.
O Allah, you have created me as You wished, so make me as You love.
اَللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْلَنا وَ ارْحَمْنا وَ اعْفُ عَنَّا وَ تَقَبَّلْ مِنَّا
allaahummagh fir lanaa warhamna wa'foanna wa taqabbal minna
O Allah, forgive us and have mercy on us and pardon us and accept from us.
وَ اَدْخِلْنَا الْجَنَّةَ وَ نَجِّنا مِنَ النَّارِ
wa adkhilnal jannata, wa najjenaa menan naare,
Make us enter the Garden and save us from the Fire
وَ اَصْلِحْ لَنا شَأْنَنا كُلَّهُ
wa asleh lanaa shaananaa kullahu.
and set right for us our affair, all of it.
اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ النِّبِيِّ الْاُمِّىِّ
allaahumma salle a’laa mohammadenin nabiyyil ummiyye,
O Allah, bless Muhammad, the unlettered Prophet,
عَدَدَ مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَيْهِ وَ عَدَدَ مَنْ لَمْ يُصَلِّ عَلَيْهِ
a’dada man salla a’layhe, wa a’dada man lam yosalle a’layhe,
equal to the number of those who bless him and equal to those who do not bless him,
وَ اغْفِرْلَنا وَ ارْحَمْنا وَ اعْفُ عَنَّا وَ تَقَبَّلْ مِنَّا
wagh fir lanaa war hamnaa wa’ fo a’nnaa wa taqabbal minnaa,
forgive us and have mercy on us and pardon us and accept from us,
اِنَّكَ اَنْتَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحيمُ
innaka antal ghafoorur raheem.
Surely You are “...All-forgiving, All-compassionate” (14:36)
اَللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ الْبَيْتِ الْحَرامِ
allaahumma rabbal baytil haraame,
O Allah, Lord of “...the Holy House” (5:97)
وَ رَبَّ الرُّكْنِ وَ الْمَقامِ
wa rabbar rukne wal maqaame,
And Lord of the Rukn and the Maqam,
وَ رَبَّ الْمَشْعَرِ الْحَرامِ
wa rabbal mash-a’ril haraame,
and Lord of the “...Sacred Monument” (2:198)
وَ رَبَّ الْحِلِّ وَ الْحَرامِ
wa rabbal hille wal haraame,
And Lord of the non-sacred (hill) and sacred territory (haram)
بَلِّغْ رُوحَ نَبِيِّكَ مُحَمَّدٍ
balligh rooha nabiyyeka mohammadin
convey to the soul of Your Prophet Muhammad,
صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ الِهِ عَنَّا السَّلامَ
sawallaho alayhe wa aalehi annas-salam
blessings of Allah on him and his family, salutations from us.
اَللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ السَّبْعِ الْمَثاني وَ الْقُرْانِ الْعَظيمِ
allaahumma rabbas sab-i’l masaanee wal quraanil a’zeeme,
O Allah, Lord of the “...Seven oft-repeated (verses) and the mighty Qur’an” (15:87),
وَ رَبَّ جَبْرائيلَ وَ ميكائيلَ وَ اِسْرافيلَ
wa rabba jabraa-eela wa meekaa-eela wa israafeela
Lord of Jibra’il, Mika’il and Israfil
وَ رَبَّ الْمَلائِكَةِ وَ الْخَلْقِ اَجْمَعينَ
wa rabbal malaa-ekate wal khalqe aj-ma-e’ena,
and Lord of the angels and all creation,
صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ الِ مُحَمَّدٍ
salle a’laa mohammadin wa aale mohammadin,
bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad,
وَ افْعَلْ بي كَذا وَ كَذا
waf a’l bee kazaa wa kazaa.
and fulfil for me (mention your desires)...
اَللَّهُمَّ اِنّي اَسْأَلُكَ يا رَبَّ السَّماواتِ السَّبْعِ
say: allaahumma innee asaloka yaa rabbas samaawaatis sab-e’,
O Allah, I ask You, Lord of the seven heavens
وَ رَبَّ الْاَرَضينَ السَّبْعِ
wa rabbal arazeenas sab-e’
and Lord of the seven earths
وَ ما فيهِنَّ وَ ما بَيْنَهُنَّ
wa maa feehinna wa maa baynahunna,
and what is in them and what is between them,
وَ بِاسْمِكَ الَّذي بِهِ تَرْزُقُ الْاَحْياءَ
wa bismekal lazee tarzoqul ahyaa-a,
by Your Name by which You give sustenance to the living,
وَ بِهِ اَحْصَيْتَ كَيْلَ الْبِحارِ وَ عَدَدَ الرِّمالِ
wa behi ahsayta kaylal behaare wa a’dadar remaale,
and by it You reckon the measure of the seas and the number of tracts of sand,
وَ بِهِ تُميتُ الْاَحْياءَ وَ بِهِ تُحْيِي الْمَوْتى
wa behi tomeetul ahyaa-a, wa behi tohyil mawtaa
and by it You cause the living to die and by it you bring the dead to life,
وَ بِهِ تُعِزُّ الذَّليلَ وَ بِهِ تُذِلُّ الْعَزيزَ
wa behi to-i’zzuz zaleela, wa behi tozillul a’zeeza
And by it You elevate the lowly and by it You abase the mighty,
وَ بِهِ تَفْعَلُ ما تَشاءُ وَ تَحْكُمُ ما تُريدُ
wa behi tafa’lo maa tashaa-o, wa tahkomo maa toreedo,
and by it You do what You will and decide what You wish,
وَ بِهِ تَقُولُ لِلشَّيْ ءِ كُنْ فَيَكُونُ
wa behi taqoolo lish-shay-e kun fayakoon.
and by it You say to a thing “...'Be' and it is” (16:40);
اَللَّهُمَّ وَ اَسْأَلُكَ بِاسْمِكَ الْاَعْظَمِ الَّذي
allaahumma wa asaloka bismekal aa’zamil lazee
O Allah, and I ask you by Your Mightiest Name which,
اِذا سَألَكَ بِهِ السَّائِلُونَ اَعْطَيْتَهُمْ سُؤْلَهُمْ
ezaa saalaka behis saaeloona a-a’taytahum soalahum,
when petitioners call You by it, You grant their request,
وَ اِذا دَعاكَ بِهِ الدَّاعُوْنَ اَجَبْتَهُمْ
wa ezaa dao a’aka behid daa-o’ona ajabtahum,
when callers call on You by it, You answer them,
وَ اِذَا اسْتَجارَكَ بِهِ الْمُسْتَجيروُنَ اَجَرْتَهُمْ
wa ezas tajaaraka behil mustajeeroona ajartahum,
when those seeking protection seek refuge in You by it, You protect them,
وَ اِذا دَعاكَ بِهِ الْمُضْطَرُّونَ اَنْقَذْتَهُمْ
wa ezaa da-a’aka behil muztarroona anqaztahum,
when the distressed call on You by it, You rescue them,
وَ اِذا تَشَفَّعَ بِهِ اِلَيْكَ الْمُتَشَفِّعُونَ شَفَّعْتَهُمْ
wa ezaa tashaffa-a’ behi elaykal motashaffeo’ona shaffa’tahum,
and when those seeking intercession with You intercede through it, You accept its intercession,
وَ اِذَا اسْتَصْرَخَكَ بِهِ الْمُسْتَصْرِخُونَ
wa ezas tasrakhaka behil mustasrekhoonas
when those calling for aid cry out to You by it,
اسْتَصْرَخْتَهُمْ وَ فَرَّجْتَ عَنْهُمْ
tasrakhtahum wa farrajta a’nhum,
You aid them and give them relief,
وَ اِذا ناداكَ بِهِ الْهارِبُونَ
wa ezaa naadaaka behil haareboona
when the fleeing call out to You by it,
سَمِعْتَ نِدائَهُمْ وَ اَعَنْتَهُمْ
same’ta nedaa-ahum wa aa’ntahum,
You hear their call and help them,
وَ اِذا اَقْبَلَ بِهِ التَّائِبُونَ قَبِلْتَهُمْ
wa ezaa aqbala behit taaeboona qabiltahum
and when the repentant approach with it You accept them
wa qabilta tawbatahum,
and accept their repentance;
فَاِنّي اَسْأَلُكَ بِهِ يا سَيِّدي وَ مَوْلاىَ وَ اِلهي
fa-innee as-aloka behi yaa sayyedee wa mawlaaya wa elaahee,
So I ask You by it, O my Chief, my Master and my God,
يا حَىُّ يا قَيُّومُ يا رَجائي وَ يا كَهْفي
yaa hayyo yaa qayyoomo, yaa rajaa-ee wa yaa kahfee,
O Living, O Self-subsisting, O my Hope and my Refuge,
وَ يا كَنْزي وَ يا ذُخْري وَ يا ذَخيرَتي
wa yaa kanzee, wa yaa zukhree wa yaa zakheeratee,
O my Treasure, O my Provision and my Repository,
وَ يا عُدَّتي لِديني وَ دُنْياىَ وَ مُنْقَلَبي
wa yaa u’ddatee le-deenee wa dunyaaya wa munqalabee
O my Provision for my religion and my world and my return;
بِذلِكَ الْاِسْمِ الْعَزيزِ الْاَعْظَمِ
bezaalekal, ismil a’zeezil a-a’zame,
by that powerful and mightiest Name
اَدْعُوكَ لِذَنْبٍ لا يَغْفِرُهُ غَيْرُكَ
ado’oka le-zanbin laa yaghfirho ghayroka,
I call on You for sins that none but You will forgive,
وَ لِكَرْبٍ لا يَكْشِفُهُ غَيْرُكَ
wa lekarbin laa yakshefohu ghayroka,
for distress that none but You will remove,
وَ لِهَمٍّ لا يَقْدِرُ عَلى اِزالَتِهِ غَيْرُكَ
wa lehammin laa yaqdero a’laa ezaalatehi ghayroka,
for anxieties that none but You can allay,
وَ لِذُنُوبِيَ الَّتي بارَزْتُكَ بِها
wa lezonoobeyal latee baaraztoka behaa,
for my sins which I have made apparent before You,
وَ قَلَّ مَعَها حَيائي عِنْدَكَ بِفِعْلِها
wa qalla ma-a’haa hayaaee i’ndaka be-fe’lehaa.
and through the commission of which my shame before You has lessened.
فَها اَنَا ذا قَدْ اَتَيْتُكَ خاطِئاً مُذْنِباً
fahaa anaa zaa qad ataytoka khaate-an muzneban
Here I am, having come before You, a wrongdoer, a sinner,
قَدْ ضاقَتْ عَلَيَّ الْاَرْضُ بِما رَحُبَتْ
qad zaaqat a’layyal arzo behaa rahobat,
the earth has become strait for me, for all its breadth (Ref. 9:118)
وَ ضاقَتْ عَلَيَّ الْحِيَلُ وَ لا مَلْجَأَ
wa zaaqat a’layyal heyalo, wa laa malja-a
expedients have become difficult for me and there is no place of refuge
وَ لا مُلْتَجَأَ اِلاَّ اِلَيْكَ
wa laa multaja-a illaa elayk.
or protection except with You.
فَها اَنَا ذا بَيْنَ يَدَيْكَ
fahaa anaa zaa bayna yadayka,
So here I am, before You;
قَدْ اَصْبَحْتُ وَ اَمْسَيْتُ مُذْنِباً فَقيراً مُحْتاجاً
qad asbahto wa amsayto muzneban faqeeran mohtaajan
I am in the morning and the evening, a sinner, poor, needy.
لا اَجِدُ لِذَنْبي غافِراً غَيْرَكَ
laa ajedo le-zanbee ghaaferan ghayraka,
I do not find for my sin a forgiver other than You,
وَ لا لِكَسْري جابِراً سِواكَ
wa laa lekasree jaaberan sewaaka,
nor for my broken state a restorer besides You.
وَ اَنَا اَقُولُ كَما قالَ عَبْدُكَ ذُوالنُّونِ
wa anaa aqoolo, kamaa qaala a’bdoka zoon noone
I say as Your servant Dhu’l Nun said
حينَ سَجَنْتَهُ فِي الظُّلُماتِ
heena sajantahu fiz zolomaate,
when you imprisoned him in the darkness,
:رَجاءَ اَنْ تَتُوبَ عَلَيَّ وَ تُنْقِذَني مِنَ الذُّنُوبِ
rajaa-a an tatooba a’layya wa tunqezanee menaz zonoobe :
in the hope that You turn to me and rescue me from sins :
لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اَنْتَ سُبْحانَكَ اِنّي كُنْتُ مِنَ الظَّالِمينَ
laa elaaha illaa anta subhaanaka innee kunto menaz zaalemeen,
“There is no god but You, Glory be to You, Surely I have been of the unjust ” (21:87)
فَاِنّي اَسْأَلُكَ يا سَيِّدي وَ مَوْلاىَ
fa-innee as-aloka yaa sayyedee wa mawlaaya,
So I ask You O my Chief and my Master,
بِاسْمِكَ الْعَظيمِ الْاَعْظَمِ اَنْ تَسْتَجيبَ دُعائي
bismekal a’zeemil a-a’zame an tastajeeba do-a’a-ee,
by Your majestic and mightiest Name, to answer my prayer
وَ تُعْطِيَني سُؤْلي وَ مُناىَ
wa to’teyanee soalee wa monaaya,
and grant me my request and desire,
وَ اَنْ تُعَجِّلَ لِىَ الْفَرَجَ مِنْ عِنْدِكَ
wa an toajjela leyal faraja min i’ndeka
and to appoint for me relief from You
في اَتَمِّ نِعْمَةٍ وَ اَعْظَمِ عافِيَةٍ
fee atamme ne’matin, wa a-a’zame a’afeyatin,
among most complete blessings and greatest well-being,
وَ اَوْسَعِ رِزْقٍ وَ اَفْضَلِ دَعَةٍ
wa awse-e’ rizqin, wa afzale daa’tin,
most abundant provision and most excellent ease,
وَ ما لَمْ تَزَلْ تُعَوِّدُنيهِ
wa maa lam tazal toa’wwedoneehe
and what You continue to accustom me to,
يا اِلهي وَ تَرْزُقَنِى الشُّكْرَ عَلى ما اتَيْتَني
yaa elaahee, wa tarzoqanish shukra a’laa maa aataytanee,
O my God, provide me with gratitude for what You have given me,
وَ تَجْعَلَ لي ذلِكَ باقِياً ما اَبْقَيْتَني
wa taj-a’la lee zaaleka baaqeyan maa abqaytanee,
and make that continue for me as long as I live,
وَ تَعْفُوَ عَنْ ذُنُوبي وَ خَطاياىَ وَ اِسْرافي
wa ta’fowa a’n zonoobee wa khataa-yaaya wa israafee
and pardon my sins, my errors, my transgressions
وَ اَجْرامِى اِذا تَوَفَّيْتَني
waj teraamee ezaa tawaffaytanee,
and my crimes when You cause me to die,
حَتَّى تَصِلَ نَعيمَ الدُّنْيا بِنَعيمِ الْاخِرَةِ
hattaa tasela nae’emad dunyaa be-nae’emil aakherah.
so that the blessings of this world are linked to the blessings of the hereafter.
اَللَّهُمَّ بِيَدِكَ مَقاديرُ اللَّيْلِ وَ النَّهارِ
allaahumma beyadeka maqaadeerul layle wan nahaare
O Allah, in your Hand are the decrees of the night and day,
وَ السَّماواتِ وَ الْاَرْضِ
was samaawaate wal arze
the heavens and the earth,
وَ الشَّمْسِ وَ الْقَمَرِ وَ الْخَيْر وَ الشَّرِّ
wash shamse wal qamare wal khayre wash sharre,
the sun and the moon, good and evil;
فَبارِكْ لي في ديني وَ دُنْياىَ وَ اخِرَتي
fabaarik lee fee deenee wa dunyaaya wa aakheratee,
So bless me in my religion, in my world and in my hereafter,
وَ بارِكِ اللَّهُمَّ في جَميعِ اُمُوري
wa baarekil laahulla fee jamee-e’ omooree.
and bless me, O Allah, in all my affairs.
اَللَّهُمَّ وَعْدُكَ حَقٌّ وَ لِقاؤُكَ حَقٌّ لا زِمٌ
allaahumma wa’doka haqqun, wa leqaa-oka haqqun laazemun
O Allah Your promise is true and the meeting with You is true, necessary,
لابُدَّ مِنْهُ وَ لا مَحيدَ مِنْهُ
laa budda minho, wa laa maheeda minho,
there is no avoiding it and no escape from it.
فَافْعَلْ بي كَذا وَ كَذا
faf a’l bee kazaa wa kazaa
So fulfil for me (mention you desires).
اَللَّهُمَّ تَكَفَّلْتَ بِرِزْقي وَ رِزْقِ كُلِّ دابَّةٍ
allaahumma takaffalta be-rizqee wa rizqe kulle daabbatin,
O Allah, You have guaranteed my sustenance and the sustenance of every animal.
يا خَيْرَ مَدْعُوٍّ وَ اَكْرَمَ مَسْئُولٍ
yaa khayra mad-u’wwin, wa akrama mas-oolin,
O Best of those called upon, Most Generous of those petitioned,
وَ اَوْسَعَ مُعْطٍ وَ اَفْضَلَ مَرْجُوٍّ
wa aw-sa-a’ mo’tin, wa afzala marjuwwin,
Most Abundant of givers and Most Excellent of those hoped from,
وَسِّعْ لي في رِزْقي وَ رِزْقِ عِيالي
wasse’ lee fee rizqee wa rizqe e’yaalee.
increase for me my sustenance and the sustenance of my family.
اَللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْ لي فيما تَقْضِى
allaahummaj a’l lee feemaa taqzee
O Allah, appoint for me in what You decree
وَ تُقَدِّرُ مِنَ الْاَمْرِ الْمَحْتُومِ
wa toqaddero menal amril mahtoome,
and ordain of the determined affair
وَ فيما تَفْرُقُ مِنَ الْحَلالِ وَ الْحَرامِ
wa feemaa tafroqo menal halaale wal haraame
and in what You make distinct between the lawful and forbidden
مِنَ الْاَمْرِ الْحَكيمِ في لَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ
menal amril hakeeme fee laylatil qadre,
of the wise command in the Night of the Decree
وَ مِنَ الْقَضاءِالَّذي لا يُرَدُّ وَ لايُبَدَّلُ
wa fil qazaa-il lazee laa yoraddo wa laa yobaddalo
and in the destiny which is not repelled or altered,
اَنْ تُصَلِّىَ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ الِ مُحَمَّدٍ
an tosalleya a’laa mohammadin wa aale mohammadin,
That You bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad,
وَ اَنْ تَكْتُبَني مِنْ حُجَّاجِ بَيْتِكَ الْحَرامِ
wa an taktobanee min hujjaaje baytekal haraame,
and destine me to be among the pilgrims of Your Sacred House,
الْمَبْرُورِ حَجُّهُمْ الْمَشْكُورِ سَعْيُهُمْ الْمَغْفُورِ
al-mabroore hajjohum almashkoore sa’yohum al-maghfoore
their pilgrimage accepted, their striving thanked, their sins forgiven,
ذَنْبُهُمْ الْمُكَفَّرِ عَنْهُمُ سَيِّئاتُهُمْ
zanbohum almokaffare a’nhum sayye-aatohum,
their evil deeds expiated,
الْمُوَسَّعَةِ اَرْزاقُهُمْ الصَّحيحَةِ اَبْدانُهُمْ
almowasse- a’te arzaaqohum, assaheehate abdaanohum,
their sustenance increased, their bodies sound,
الْامِنينَ خَوْفُهُمْوَ اَنْ تَجْعَلَ فيما تَقْضي وَ تُقَدِّرُ
al-aameneena khawfohum, wa an taja’la feemaa taqzee wa toqaddero
secured from their fear, and that You bestow, in what You decree and ordain,
اَنْ تُصَلِّىَ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ الِ مُحَمَّدٍ
an tosalleya a’laa mohammadin wa aale mohammadin,
Blessings on Muhammad and the family of Muhammad,
وَ اَنْ تُطيلَ عُمْري وَ تَمُدَّ في حَياتي
wa an toteela u’m ree, wa tamudda fee hayaatee,
and that You prolong my age, extend my life
وَ تَزيدَني في رِزْقي وَ تُعافِيَني في جَسَدى
wa tazeedanee fee rizqee, wa toa’afeyanee fee jasadi
increase me in my provision and grant me soundness
وَ كُلِّ ما يُهِمُّني مِنْ اَمْرِ ديني
wa kulle maa yohimmonee min amre deenee
in all that concerns me in the matter of my religion,
وَ دُنْياىَ وَ اخِرَتي وَ عاجِلَتي وَ اجِلَتي لي
wa dunyaaya wa aakheratee wa a’ajelatee wa aajelatee lee
my world and my hereafter, in my present abode and my abode to come, for me,
وَ لِمَنْ يَعْنيني اَمْرُهُ وَ يَلْزَمُني شَأْنُهُ
wa leman yo’neenee amrohu, wa yalzemonee shaa-nohu,
and for the one whose affair concerns me and is incumbent on me,
min qareebin aw bae’edin,
from near or far;
اِنَّكَ جَوادٌ كَريمٌ رَؤُوفٌ رَحيمٌ
innaka jawaadun kareemun, ra-oofun raheemun,
surely You are Munificent, All-generous, All-gentle, All-compassionate.
يا كائِناً قَبْلَ كُلِّ شَيْ ءٍ
yaa kaa-enan qabla kulle shay-in,
O Existing One before everything,
تَنامُ الْعُيُونُ وَ تَنْكَدِرُ النُّجُومُ
tanaamul o’yoono wa tankaderun nojoomo,
eyes sleep and stars fall down (Ref. 81:2),
وَ اَنْتَ حَىٌّ قَيُّومٌ لاتَأْخُذُكَ سِنَةٌ وَ لا نَوْمٌ
wa anta hayyun qayyoomun laa taakhozoka senatun wa laa nawmun,
while You are Living, Self-subsisting, slumber seizes You not, neither sleep (Ref. 2:255);
وَ اَنْتَ اللَّطيفُ الْخَبيرُ
wa antal lateetul kabeero,
You are “...the All-subtle, the All-aware” (6:103)
وَ لا حَوْلَ وَ لا قُوَّةَ اِلاّ بِاللهِ الْعَظيمِ
wa laa hawla wa laa quwwata illaa billaahil a’liyyil a’zeeme,
And there is no power nor might but with Allah, the Sublime, the All-mighty.
وَ الْحَمْدُ لِلهِ رَبِّ الْعالَمينَ
wal hamdo lillaahe rabbil a’alameena,
All praise be for Allah, the Lord of the Worlds !
وَ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ عَلى اَهْلِ بِيْتِهِ الطَّيِّبينَ الطَّاهِريِنَ الْمُصْطَفَيْنَ الْاَخْيارِ وَ سَلَّمَ تَسْليماً
wa sallal laaho a’laa mohammadin wa a’laa ahle baytehit tayyebeenat taahereenal mustafaynil akhyaare, wa sallama tasleemaa
Bless Muhammad (s.a.w.a.) and his pure, purified, chosen and virtuous Progeny, and greet them withworthy greetings.
