Supplication 152- Day 29 of the month from Al-Sahifa e Alaviya
بِسْمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحْمٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
bismillahi alrrahmani alrrahimi
In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.
لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اللهُ الْحَليمُ الْكَريمُ
laa elaaha illal laahul haleemul kareem,
There is no god but Allah, the Forbearing, the All-generous.
لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اللهُ الْعَلِيُّ الْعَظيمُ
laa elaaha illal laahul a’liyyul a’zeem,
There is no god but Allah, “...the All-high, the All-mighty” (42:4)
سُبْحانَ اللهِ رَبِّ السَّماواتِ السَّبْعِ
subhaanal laahe rabbis samaawaatis sab-e’
Glory be to Allah, Lord of the seven heavens
وَ رَبِّ الْاَرَضينَ السَّبْعِ
wa rabbil arazeenas sabe,
and Lord of the seven earths
وَ ما فيهِنَّ وَ ما بَيْنَهُنَّ
wa maa feehinna wa maa baynahunna
and what is in them and what is between them
وَ رَبِّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظيمِ
rabbil a’rshil a’zeeme,
and “...Lord of the Mighty Throne” (9:129)
وَ الْحَمْدُ لِلهِ رَبِّ الْعالَمينَ
wal hamdo lillaahe rabbil a’alameen,
“Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds” (1:1)
وَ تَبارَكَ اللهُ اَحْسَنُ الْخالِقينَ
wa tabaarakal laaho ahsanul khaaleqeen,
“...Blessed be Allah, the fairest of creators” (23:14)
وَ لا حَوْلَ وَ لا قُوَّةَ اِلاَّ بِاللهِ الْعَلِيِّ الْعَظيمِ
wa laa hawla wa laa quwwata illaa billaahil a’liyyil a’zeem.
There is no power nor strength except with Allah, the All-high, the All-mighty.
اَللَّهُمَّ اَلْبِسْنِي الْعافِيَةَ حَتَّى تُهَنِّیَنِیْ الْمَعيشَةَ
allaahumma albisnil a’afeyata hatta tohanne-anil ma-e’eshata,
O Allah, clothe me in well-being so that You grant me enjoyment of living;
وَ اخْتِمْ لي بِالْمَغْفِرَةِ حَتَّى لاتَضُرَّني مَعَهَا الذُّنُوبُ
wakh tim lee bil maghferate hattaa laa tazurraniz zonoobo,
end my days with forgiveness so that sins do not harm me;
وَ اكْفِني نَوائِبَ الدُّنْيا وَ هُمُومَ الْاخِرَةِ
wak fenee nawaa-ebad dunyaa wa homoomal aakherate
And protect me from the afflictions of this world and the cares of the Hereafter
حَتَّى تُدْخِلَنِي الْجَنَّةَ بِرَحْمَتِكَ
hattaa tudkhelanil jannata be-rahmateka
until You make me enter the Garden, by Your Mercy;
اِنَّكَ عَلى كُلِّ شَيْ ءٍ قَديرٌ
innaka a’laa kulle shay-in qadeer.
“...Surely You are Powerful over everything” (3:26)
اَللَّهُمَّ اَنْتَ تَعْلَمُ سَريرَتي فَاقْبَلْ مَعْذِرَتي
allaahumma anta ta’lamo sareeratee faq-bal ma’zeratee,
O Allah, You know my secrets, so accept my excuse;
وَ تَعْلَمُ حاجَتي فَاَعْطِني مَسْأَلَتي
wa ta’lamo haajatee faa’tenee, mas-alatee,
You know my need, so grant me my request;
وَ تَعْلَمُ ما في نَفْسي فَاغْفِرْلي ذُنُوبي
wa ta’lamo maa fee nafsee faghfir lee zonoobee.
You know what is in my soul, so forgive my sins.
اَللَّهُمَّ اَنْتَ تَعْلَمُ حَوائِجي وَ ذُنُوبي
allaahumma anta ta’lamo haajatee wa ta’lamo zonoobee
O Allah, You know my need and You know my sins,
فَاقْضِ لي جَميعَ حَوائِجي وَ اغْفِرْلي جَميعَ ذُنُوبي
faqze lee jamee-a’ hawaaejee, wagh fir lee jamee-a’ zonoobee.
So fulfil for me all my needs and forgive me all my sins.
اَللَّهُمَّ اَنْتَ الرَّبُّ وَ اَنَا الْمَرْبُوبُ
allaahumma antar rabbo wa anal marboobo,
O Allah, You are the Lord and I am the servant,
وَ اَنْتَ الْمالِكُ وَ اَنَا الْمَمْلُوكَ
wa antal maaleko wa anal mamlooko,
You are the Master and I am the slave,
وَ اَنْتَ العَزيزُ وَ اَنَا الذَّليلُ
wa antal a’zeezo wa anaz zaleelo,
You are the All-mighty and I am the abased,
وَ اَنْتَ الْحَيُّ وَ اَنَا الْمَيِّتُ
wa antal hayyo wa anal mayyeto,
You are the Living and I am the lifeless,
وَ اَنْتَ الْقَوِيٌّ وَ اَنَا الضَّعيفُ
wa antal qawiyyo wa anaz zae’efo,
You are the Strong and I am the weak,
وَ اَنْتَ الْغَنِيٌّ وَ اَنَا الْفَقيرُ
wa antal ghaniyun wa anal faqeero
You are the Self-Sufficient and I am the needy,
وَ اَنْتَ الْباقي وَ اَنَا الْفاني
wa antal baaqee wa anal faanee,
You are the Eternal and I am the mortal,
وَ اَنْتَ الْمُعْطي وَ اَنَا السَّائِلُ
wa antal mo’tee wa anas saa-el,
You are the Bestower and I am the supplicant,
وَ اَنْتَ الْغَفُورُ وَ اَنَاالْمُذْنِبُ
wa antal ghafooro wa anal muzneb,
You are the All-Forgiving and I am the sinner,
وَ اَنْتَ السَّيِّدُ وَ اَنَا الْعَبْدُ
wa antas sayyedo wa anal a’bd,
You are the Master and I am the slave,
وَ اَنْتَ الْعالِمُ وَ اَنَا الْجاهِلُ
wa antal a’alemo wa anal jaahel,
You are the Knowing and I am the ignorant.
عَصَيْتُكَ بِجَهْلي وَ ارْتَكَبْتُ الذُّنُوبَ بِجَهْلي
a’saytoka bejahlee, war takabtuz zonooba be-jahlee,
I disobeyed You through my ignorance, I committed sins through my ignorance,
وَ سَهَوْتُ عَنْ ذِكْرِكَ بِجَهلي
sahawto a’n zikreka be-jahlee,
I was neglectful of Your remembrance through my ignorance,
وَ رَكَنْتُ اِلَى الدُّنْيا بِجَهْلي
wa rakinto elad dunyaa bejahlee,
I relied on the world through my ignorance,
وَ اغْتَرَرْتُ بِزينَتِها بِجَهْلي
wagh tararto be-zeenatehaa bejahlee,
and was deluded by its adornment through my ignorance.
وَ اَنْتَ اَرْحَمُ مِنّي بِنَفْسي
wa anta arhamo minnee benafsee,
You are more merciful to me than myself
وَ اَنْتَ اَنْظَرُ مِنّي لِنَفْسي فَاغْفِرْ وَ ارْحَمْ
wa anta anzaro minnee lenafsee, fagh fir war ham
and You look over me more than myself; Forgive, have mercy
وَ تَجاوَزْ عَمَّا تَعْلَمُ اِنَّكَ اَنْتَ الْاَعَزُّ الْاَكْرَمُ
wa tajaawaz a’mmaa ta’lamo, innaka antal a-a’zzul akram.
and overlook that of which You have knowledge; surely You are the Most Mighty, the Most Noble.
اَللَّهُمَّ اهْدِني لِاَرْشَدِ الْاُمُورِ وَ قِني شَرَّ نَفْسي
allaahummah denee le-arshadil omoore, wa qenee sharra nafsee.
O Allah, guide me to the most correct of affairs and protect me from the evil of myself.
اَللَّهُمَّ اَوْسِعْ لي في رِزْقي وَ امْدُدْ لي في عُمْري
allaahumma aw-se’ lee fee rizqee, wam dud lee fee u’mree,
O Allah, increase for me my sustenance, prolong for me my life,
wagh fir lee zonoobee,
forgive me my sins,
وَ اجْعَلْني مِمَّنْ تَنْتَصِرُ بِهِ لِدينِكَ
waj a’lnee mimman tantasero behi ledeeneka,
make me of those through whom You defend Your religion
وَ لاتَسْتَبْدِلْ بي غَيْري
wa laa tastab- dil bee ghayree,
and substitute not another for me.
يا حَنَّانُ يا مَنَّانُ يا حَىُّ يا قَيُّومُ
yaa hannaano yaa mannaano, yaa hayyo yaa qayyoomo,
O Merciful, O All-Bountiful, O Living, O Self-subsisting !
فَرِّغْ قَلْبي لِذِكْرِكَ
farrigh qalbee lezikrek.
Make vacant my heart for Your remembrance.
اَللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ السَّماواتِ السَّبْعِ
allaahumma rabbas samaawaatis sab-e’
O Allah, Lord of the seven heavens
وَ رَبَّ الْاَرَضينَ السَّبْعِ
wa rabbal arazeenas sab-e’,
and Lord of the earths
وَ ما فيهِنَّ وَ ما بَيْنَهُنَّ
wa maa feehinna wa maa baynahunna,
and what is in them and what is between them,
وَ رَبَّ السَّبْعِ الْمَثاني وَ الْقُرْانِ الْعَظيمِ
wa rabbas sab-i’l masaanee wal quraanil a’zeeme,
Lord of the “...seven oft-repeated (verses) and the Mighty Qur’an” (15:87)
وَ رَبَّ جَبْرائيلَ وَ ميكائيلَ وَ اِسْرافيلَ
wa rabba jab-ra-eela wa meekaa-eela wa israafeela,
Lord of Jibra’il, Mika’il and Israfil
وَ رَبَّ الْمَلائِكَةِ اَجْمَعينَ
wa rabbal malaa-ekate ajmae’en,
and Lord of all the angels,
وَ رَبَّ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ الِهِ
wa rabba mohammadin sallal laaho a’layhe wa aale
and Lord of Muhammad, blessings of Allah on him and his family
خاتَمِ النَّبِيّينَ وَ الْمُرْسَلينَ اَجْمَعينَ
khaatamin nabiyyeena wal mursaleena ajma-e’en.
the Seal of all the Prophets and Messengers,
صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ الِ مُحَمَّدٍ
salle a’laa mohammadin wa aale mohammadin
Bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad,
وَ اَغْنِني عَنْ خِدْمَةِ عِبادِكَ
wa aghnenee a’n khidmate e’baadek,
and free me from serving Your servants,
وَ فَرِّغْني لِعِبادَتِكَ بِالْيَسارِ وَ الْكِفايَةِ
wa waffiqnee lee’baadateka bilyasaare wal kefaayate
dispose me to Your worship with ease, sufficiency,
وَ الْقُنُوعِ وَ صِدْقِ الْيَقينِ فِي التَّوَكُّلِ عَلَيْكَ
wal qonooe’ wa sidqil yaqeene fit tawakkole a’layk.
contentment and true certainty in relying upon You.
اَللَّهُمَّ اِنّي اَسْأَلُكَ بِاسْمِكَ الْاَعْظَمِ
allaahumma innee asaloka bismekal aa’zamil
O Allah, I ask you by Your Most Mighty Name
الَّذي تَقُومُ بِهِ السَّماءُ وَ الْاَرْضُ
lazee taqoomo behi samaa-o wal arzo,
by which are supported the heavens and the earth
وَ ما فيهِنَّ وَ ما بَيْنَهُنَّ
wa maa feehinna wa maa baynahunna,
and what is in them and what is between them,
وَ بِهِ تُحْيِى الْمَوْتى وَ تُميتُ الْاَحْياءَ
wa behi tohyil mawtaa wa tomeetul ahyaa,
by which You raise the dead and cause the living to die,
وَ بِهِ اَحْصَيْتَ عَدَدَ الْاجالِ
wa behi ahsayto a’dadal aajaale,
by which You calculate the periods of time,
وَ وَزْنَ الْجِبالِ وَ كَيْلَ الْبِحارِ
wa waznil jebaale, wa kaylal behaare,
the weight of the mountains and the measure of the seas,
وَ بِهِ تُعِزُّ الذَّليلَ وَ بِهِ تُذِلُّ الْعَزيزَ
wa behi to-i’zzuz zaleela, wa behi tozillul a’zeeza,
by which You elevate the humbled and abase the powerful,
وَ بِهِ تَفْعَلُ ما تَشاءُ
wa behi tafa’lo maa tashaa-o,
by which You do what You will
وَ بِهِ تَقُولُ لِلشَّيْ ءِ كُنْ فَيَكُونُ
wa behi taqoolo lishshay-e kun fayakoon,
and by which You say to a thing ‘Be’ and it is.
وَ اِذَا سَأَلَكَ بِهِ السَّائِلوُنَ اَعْطَيْتَهُمْ سُؤْلَهُمْ
wa ezaa sa-alaka behis saa-eloona aa’taytahum soa-lahum
When supplicants ask You by it, Your grant them their request;
وَ اِذا دَعاكَ بِهِ الدَّاعِوُنَ اَجَبْتَهُمْ
wa ezaa da-a’aka behid daa-o’ona ajabtahum
when callers call on You by it You answer them;
وَ اِذَا اسْتَجارَكَ بِهِ الْمُسْتَجيرُونَ اَجَرْتَهُمْ
wa ezas tajaaraka behil mustajeeroona ajartahum
When those who seek protection ask for refuge by it, You protect them,
وَ اِذا دَعاكَ بِهِ الْمُضْطَرُّونَ اَنْقَذْتَهُمْ
wa ezaa daa’aka behil muztarroona anqaztahum
when the distressed call on You by it, You rescue them,
وَ اِذا تَشَفَّعَ اِلَيْكَ الْمُتَشَفِّعُونَ شَفَّعْتَهُمْ
wa ezaa tashaffa-a’ behi elaykal motashaffeo’ona shaffa’tahum
when those seeking intercession plead to You through it, You accept their intercession,
وَ اِذَا اسْتَصْرَخَكَ بِهِ الْمُسْتَصْرِخُونَ اسْتَصْرَخْتَهُمْ
wa ezas tasrakhaka behis mustasrekhoona asrakhtahum
when those who call for help call out to You by it, You aid them,
وَ اِذا ناجاكَ بِهِ الْهارِبُونَ اِلَيْكَ سَمِعْتَ نِدائَهُمْ
wa ezaa naajaaka behil haareboona elayka same’ta nedaa-a-hum
when those who flee to You whisper to You with it, You hear their call,
وَ اِذا اَقْبَلَ اِلَيْكَ التَّائِبُونَ قَبِلْتَ تَوْبَتَهُمْ
wa a-a’ntahum wa ezaa aqbala elaykat taae’boona qabilta tawbatahum,
and when the repenters turn to You with it, You accept their repentance.
وَ اَنَا اَسْأَلُكَ يا سَيِّدي وَ مَوْلاىَ
wa anaa as-aloka yaa sayyedee wa mawlaaya
I ask You O my Lord and my Master,
وَ يا اِلهي وَ يا قُوَّتي
wa yaa elaahee, wa quwwatee
O my God and my Strength,
وَ يا رَجائي وَ يا كَهْفي وَ يا فَخْري
wa yaa rajaa-ee wa kahfee wa fakhree,
O my Hope and my Sanctuary and my Pride,
وَ يا عُدَّتي لِديني وَ دُنْيايَ وَ اخِرَتي
wa yaa u’ddatee ledeenee wa dunyaaya wa aakheratee,
O my Provision for my religion, my world and my Hereafter.
وَ اَسْأَلُكَ بِاسْمِكَ الْاَعْظَمِ الْاَعْظَمِ
wa asaloka bismekal aa’zamil a’azamil a’azame
I ask You by the Mightiest of Mightiest of Your Names,
وَ اَدْعُوكَ بِهِ لِذَنْبٍ لا يَغْفِرُهُ غَيْرُكَ
wa ad-o’oka behi le-zanbin laa yaghferohu ghayroka,
I call on You by it for sins that none but You will forgive,
وَ لِكَرْبٍ لايَكْشِفُهُ سِواكَ
wa lekarbin laa yakshefohu sewaaka,
for distress that none other than You will dispel,
وَ لِضُرٍّ لايَقْدِرُ عَلى اِزالَتِهِ عَنّي اِلاَّ اَنْتَ
wa le-zurra laa yaqdero a’laa ezaalatehi a’nnee illaa anta,
and for harm that none but You has the power to remove from me,
وَ لِذُنُوبِيَ الَّتي بارَزْتُكَ بِها
wa lezonoobeyal latee baraztoka behaa,
and for my sins with which I have confronted You
وَ قَلَّ مِنْهاحَيائي عِنْدَ ارْتِكابي لَها
wa qalla minka hayaatee i’nda irtekaabee lahaa,
and during the commission of which my shame before You was little.
فَها اَنَا ذا قَدْ اَتَيْتُكَ مُذْنِباً خاطِئاً
fahaa anaa zaa qad ataytoka muzneban khaate-an,
So here I am, having come to you a sinner and a wrongdoer.
قَدْ ضاقَتْ عَلَيَّ الْاَرْضُ بِما رَحُبَتْ
qad zaaqat a’layyal arzo bemaa rahobat,
The earth has become strait for me despite its spaciousness (Ref. 9:118)
وَ ضَلَّتْ عَنِّي الْحِيَلُ وَ عَلِمْتُ
wa zallat a’nnil heelo, wa a’limto
Stratagems have escaped me and I know,
اَنْ لا مَلْجَأَ وَ لا مَنْجا مِنْكَ اِلاَّ اِلَيْكَ
an laa malja-a wa laa manjaa minka illaa elayka,
that there is no refuge or safety from You except with You.
وَ ها اَنَا ذا بَيْنَ يَدَيْكَ
wa haa anaa zaa bayna yadayka
Here I am before You.
قَدْ اَصْبَحْتُ وَ اَمْسَيْتُ مُذْنِباً
qad asbahto wa amsayto muzneban
I am, in the morning and in the evening, a sinner,
خاطِئاً فَقيراً مُحْتاجاً
khaate-an faqeeran mohtaajan
A wrongdoer, needy unsound;
لااَجِدُ لِذَنْبي غافِراً غَيْرَكَ
laa ajedo le-zanbee ghaaferan ghayroka,
I do not find a forgiver for my sins other than You,
وَ لا لِكَسْري جابِراً سِواكَ
wa laa lekasree jaaberan sewaaka,
nor a restorer of my broken state except You
وَ لا لِضُريّ كاشِفاً اِلاَّ اَنْتَ
wa laa lezurree kaashefan illaa anta,
nor one who will remove my hurt but You.
وَ اَنَا اَقُولُ كَما قالَ عَبْدُكَ ذُوالنُّونِ حينَ
wa anaa aqoolo kamaa qaala a’bdoka zoon noone heena
I say, as Your servant Dhu al-Nun said
تُبْتَ عَلَيْهِ وَ نَجَّيْتَهُ مِنَ الْغَمِّ
tubto a’layhe, wa najjaytahu menal ghamme,
when You turned to him and delivered him from grief,
رَجاءَ اَنْ تَتُوبَ عَلَيَّ
rajaa-a an tatooba a’layya,
in the hope that You will turn to me
وَ تُنْقِذَني مِنَ الذُّنُوبِ يا سَيِّدي
wa tunqezanee menaz zonoobe yaa sayyedee :
and rescue me from sins : O my Master,
لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اَنْتَ سُبْحانَكَ اِنّي كُنْتُ مِنَ الظَّالِمينَ
laa elaaha illaa anta subhaanaka innee kunto menaz zaalemeen,
“...there is no god but You, Glory be to You, surely I have been of the unjust.” (21:87)
فَاَنَا اَسْأَلُكَ يا سَيِّدي وَ مَوْلاى
wa anaa as-aloka yaa sayyedee wa mawlaaya
I ask You, my Lord and my Master,
بِاسْمِكَ الْاَعْظَمِ اَنْ تَسْتَجيبَ لي دُعائي
bismekal aa’zame an tasatajeeba lee do-a’a-ee,
by Your Mightiest Name to answer my prayer,
وَ اَنْ تُعْطِيَني سُؤْلي
wa an to’teyanee soalee,
to grant me my request
وَ اَنْ تُعَجِّلَ لِىَ الْفَرَجَ مِنْ عِنْدِكَ
wa an to-a’jjela leyal faraja min i’ndeka
and to hasten to me relief from You,
berahmateka fee a’afeyatin,
By Your Mercy, in well being,
وَ اَنْ تُؤْمِنَ خَوْفي في اَتَمِّ النِّعْمَةِ
wa an toamena khawfee fee atammin ne’mate
to make me secure from my fear amongst the most complete of Blessings,
وَ اَفْضَلِ الرِّزْقِ وَ السَّعَهِ وَ الدَّعَةِ
wa afzalir rizqe, was saa’te wad da-a’te,
the most excellent sustenance, ampleness and ease,
وَ ما لَمْ تَزَلْ تُعَوِّدُنيهِ
wa maa lam tazal toa’wwedoneehe,
and that which You continue to accustom me to,
يا اِلهي وَ تَرْزُقَنِي الشُّكْرَ عَلى ما اتَيْتَني
yaa elaahee wa tarzoqanish shukra a’laa maa aataytanee
O my God, and provide me with gratitude for what You have given me;
وَ تَجْعَلَ ذلِكَ تامّاً ما اَبْقَيْتَني
wa taj-a’la zaaleka taamman maa abqaytanee,
make that complete as long as I live,
وَ تَعْفُوَ عَنْ ذُنُوبي وَ خَطاياىَ وَ اِسْرافي وَ اِجْرامي
wa ta’fowa a’n zonoobee wa khataayaaya wa israafee wa ijraamee
pardon my sins, my mistakes, my extravagances and my misdeeds
اِذا تَوفَّيْتَني حَتَّى تَصِلَ
ezaa towaffaytanee, hattaa tasela
when You cause me to die,
اِلى سَعادَةِ الدُّنْيا وَ نَعيمِ الْاخِرَةِ
elayya sa-a’datad dunyaa wa na-e’emal aakherah.
so that I attain the happiness of this world and the blessings of the Hereafter.
اَللَّهُمَّ بِيَدِكَ مَقاديرُ اللَّيْلِ وَ النَّهارِ
allaahumma beyadeka maqaadeerul layle wan nahaare,
O Allah, in Your Hand are the decrees of the night and the day,
وَ بِيَدِكَ مَقاديرُ الشَّمْسِ وَ الْقَمَرِ
wa beyadeka maqaadeerush shamse wal qamare,
in Your Hand are the decrees of the sun and the moon,
وَ بِيَدِكَ مَقاديرُ الْخَيْرِ وَ الشَّرِّ
wa beyadeka maqaadeerul khayre wash sharr.
and in Your Hand are the decrees of good and evil.
اَللَّهُمَّ فَبارِكْ لي في ديني
allaahumma fabaarik lee fee deenee,
O Allah, so bless me in my religion,
وَ دُنْياىَ وَ اخِرَتي وَ في جَميعِ اُمُوري
wa dunyaaya wa aakheratee wa fee jamee-e’ omooree.
my world and my Hereafter, and in all my affairs.
اَللَّهُمَّ لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اَنْتَ
allaahumma laa elaaha illaa anta
O Allah, there is no god but You.
وَعْدُكَ حَقٌّ وَ لِقاؤُكَ حَقٌ
wa’doka haqqun, wa leqaa-oka haqqun,
Your Promise is true and the meeting with You is true;
فَصَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ الِهِ
fasalle a’laa mohammadin wa aaleh,
So bless Muhammad and his family,
وَ اخْتِمْ لي اَجَلي بِاَفْضَلِ عَمَلي
wakh tim lee ajalee be-afzale a’malee
and end for me my term with my best actions
حَتَّى تَتَوَفَّاني وَ قَدْ رَضيتَ عَنّي
hattaa tatawaffaanee wa qad razeeta a’nnee,
Until You cause me to die, being well-pleased with me.
يا حَىُّ يا قَيُّومُ يا كاشِفَ الْكَرْبِ الْعَظيمِ
yaa hayyo yaa qayyoomo, yaa kaashefal karbil a’zeeme,
O Living, O Self-subsisting, O Remover of the great distress,
صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ الِهِ
salle a’laa mohammadin wa aalehi,
bless Muhammad and his family
وَ وَسِّعْ عَلَيَّ مِنْ طيبِ رِزْقِكَ
wa wasse’ a’layya min teebe rizqeka
and increase for me of Your pure sustenance
حَسَبَ جُودِكَ وَ كَرَمِكَ
hasaba joodeka wa karameka,
in accordance with Your Generosity and Your Nobility;
اَللَّهُمَّ اِنَّكَ تَكَفَّلْتَ بِرِزْقي وَ رِزْقِ كُلِّ دابَّةٍ
innaka takaffalta berizqee wa rizqe kulle daabbatin,
You have guaranteed my sustenance and the sustenance of very creature.
يا خَيْرَ مَدْعُوٍّ وَ يا خَيْرَ مَسْئوُلٍ
yaa khayra mad-u’wwin, wa yaa khayra mas-oolin,
O Best of those petitioned and O Best of those sought from.
وَ يا اَوْسَعَ مُعْطٍ وَ اَفْضَلَ مَرْجُوٍّ
wa yaa aw-sa-a’ mo’tin, wa afzala marjuwwin,
O Most Ample of givers and Most excellent of those hoped of :
وَسِّعْ لي في رِزْقي وَ رِزْقِ عِيالي
wasse’ lee fee rizqee wa rizqe e’yaalee.
increase for me my sustenance and the sustenance of my dependants.
اَللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْ فيما تَقْضي وَ تُقَدِّرُ
allaahummaj a’l feemaa taqzee wa toqaddero
O Allah, appoint in what You decide and ordain
مِنَ الْاَمْرِ الْمَحْتُومِ وَ فيما تَفْرُقُ
menal amril makhtoome, wa feemaa tafroqo
of the decreed affair, and in the wise bidding (Ref. 44:4)
مِنَ الْاَمْرِ الْحَكيمِ في لَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ
menal amril hakeeme fee laylatil qadre,
that You determine in the Night of the Decree,
مِنَ الْقَضاءِ الَّذي لايُرَدُّ وَ لا يُبَدَّلٌ
menal qazaa-il lazee laa yoraddo wa laa yobaddalo
for the decree which is not averted or altered,
اَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ الِ مُحَمَّدٍ
an tosalleya a’laa mohammadin wa aale mohammadin,
That You commend Muhammad and the family of Muhammad,
وَ اَنْ تَرَحَّمَ مُحَمَّداً وَ الَ مُحَمَّدٍ
wa an tarhama mohammadan wa aala mohammadin,
have mercy on Muhammad and the family of Muhammad
وَ اَنْ تُبارِكَ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ الِ مُحَمَّدٍ
wa an tobaareka a’laa mohammadin wa aale mohammadin,
and bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad
كَما صَلَّيْتَ وَ بارَكْتَ وَ تَرَحَّمْتَ
kamaa sallayta wa baarakta wa tarahhamta
as You have commended and blessed
عَلى اِبْراهيمَ وَ الِ اِبْراهيمَ
a’laa ibraaheema wa aale ibraaheema,
and had mercy on Ibrahim and the family of Ibrahim.
innaka hameedun majeed,
Surely You are “...Praiseworthy, All-glorious” (11:73)
وَ اَنْ تَكْتُبَني مِنْ حُجَّاجِ بَيْتِكَ الْحَرامِ الْمَبْرُورِ
wa an taktobanee min hujjaaje baytekal haraamil, mabroore
And appoint me among the pilgrims of Your Sacred House,
حَجُّهُمْ الْمَشْكُورِ سَعْيُهُمْ اَلْمَغْفُورِ
hajjohomull mashkoore sa’yohomul maghfoore,
whose pilgrimage is accepted, their striving thanked,
ذُنُوبُهُمْ اَلْمُكَفَّرِ عَنْهُمْ سَيِّئاتُهُمْ
zonoobohomul mokaffare a’nhum sayye-aatohomul,
their sins forgiven, their evil deeds expiated,
الْواسِعَةِ اَرْزاقُهُمْ الصَّحيحَةِ اَبْدانُهُمْ
waase-a’te arzaaqahomus saheehate abdaanohomul,
their provision abundant, their bodies sound,
moammano khawfohum,
secure from their fear;
وَ اجْعَلْ لي فيما تَقضي وَ تُقَدِّرُ
waj a’l lee feemaa taqzee wa toqaddero
appoint for me in what You decide and ordain,
اَنْ تُطيلَ عُمْري وَ اَنْ تَزيدَ في رِزْقي
an toteela u’mree, wa an tazeeda fee rizqee
the prolongation of my life, and increase in my provision.
يا كائِناً قَبْلَ كُلِّ شَيْ ءٍ يا كائِناً بَعْدَ كُلِّ شَيْ ءٍ
yaa kaaenan qabla kulle shay-in, yaa kaaenan ba'da kulle shay-in
O Existent One before everything, O Existent One after everything,
وَ يا مُكَوِّنَ كُلِّ شَيْ ءٍ
wa yaa mokawwena kulle shay-in,
O Creator of everything,
تَنامُ الْعُيُونُ وَ تَنْكَدِرُ النُّجُومُ
tanaamul o’yoono wa tankaderun nojoomo,
Eyes sleep and stars fall down
وَ اَنْتَ حَىٌّ قَيُّومٌ لاتَأْخُذُكَ سِنَةٌ وَ لا نَوْمٌ
wa anta hayyun qayyoom, laa taakhozoka senatun wa laa nawm.
but You are Living, Self-subsisting, “...slumber seizes Him not, neither sleep.’’ (2:255)
اَللَّهُمَّ اِنّي اَسْأَلُكَ بِجَلالِكَ وَ حِلْمِكَ
allaahumma innee asaloka bejalaaleka wa hilmeka
O Allah, I ask You by Your Majesty, You Forbearance,
wa majdeka wa karameka
Your Glory and Your Nobility,
اَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ الِ مُحَمَّدٍ
an tosalleya a’laa mohammadin wa aale mohammadin,
to bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad
وَ اَنْ تَغْفِرَلي وَ لِوالِدَيَّ
wa an taghfera lee wa lewaledayya
and to forgive me and my parents
وَ تَرْحَمَهُما كَما رَبَّياني صَغيراً
wa tarhamahomaa, kamaa rabbayaanee sagheeraa,
and “...have mercy upon them, as they raised me up when I was little (17:24),
رَحْمَةً واسِعَةً يا اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمين
rahmatan waase-a’tan yaa arhamar raahemeen.
An abundant mercy, O Most merciful of the merciful.
اَللَّهُمَّ اِنّي اَسْأَلُكَ بِاَنَّكَ مَلِكٌ
allaahumma innee asaloka be-annaka malekun,
O Allah, I ask you for You are King
وَ اَنَّكَ عَلى كُلِّ شَيْ ءٍ قَديرٌ
wa annaka a’laa kulle shayin qadeer,
and “...You are Powerful over everything” (3:26),
وَ اَنَّكَ ما تَشأُ مِنْ اَمْرٍ يَكُنْ
wa annaka maa tashaa-o min amrin yakun,
and what You will of an affair, is,
اَنْ تَغْفِرَلي وَ لِاِخْوانِيَ المُؤْمِنينَ وَ الْمُؤْمِناتِ
an taghfera lee wa leikhwaaneyal moameneena wal oamenaate,
to forgive me and my brothers, the believing men, and the believing women,
innaka raoofun raheem.
“...Surely You are All-gentle, All-compassionate” (59:10)
اَلْحَمْدُ لِلهِ الَّذي اَشْبَعَنا فِي الْجائِعينَ
alhamdo lillaahil lazee ashba’naa fil jaa-ee’ena,
Praise belongs to Allah Who has sated us amongst the hungry.
اَلْحَمْدُ لِلهِ الَّذي كَسانا فِي الْعارينَ
al-hamdo lillaahil lazee kasaanaa fil a’areena,
Praise belongs to Allah Who has clothed us amongst those without clothing.
اَلْحَمْدُ لِلهِ الَّذي اوانا فِي الْغائِبينَ
al-hamdo lillaahil lazee aawaanaa fil ghaa-ebeena,

اَلْحَمْدُ لِلهِ الَّذي اَكْرَمَنا فِي الْمُهانينَ
alhamdo lillaahil lazee akramanaa fil mohaaneena,
Praise belongs to Allah Who has honoured us amongst the abased.
اَلْحَمْدُ لِلهِ الَّذي امَنَنا فِي الْخائِفينَ
al-hamdo lillaahil lazee aamananaa fil khaaefeena,
Praise belongs to Allah Who has made us secure amongst the fearful.
وَ الْحَمْدُ لِلهِ الَّذي هَدانا فِي الضَّالّينَ
al-hamdo lillaahil lazee hadaanaa fiz zaalleena,
Praise belongs to Allah Who has guided us amongst those who are astray.
يا رَجاءَ الْمُؤْمِنينَ لاتُخَيِّبْ رَجْائي
yaa rajaaal moameneena, laa tokhayyib rajaa-ee,
O Hope of the believers, do not disappoint my hope.
يا مُعينَ الْمُؤْمِنينَ اَعِنّي
yaa mo-e’enal moameneena a-i’nnee,
O Succour of the believers. Help me.
يا غِياثَ الْمُسْتَغيثينَ اَغِثْني
yaa gheyaasal mustagheeseena, aghisnee,
O Aid of those calling for aid, aid me.
يا مُجيبَ التَّوَّابينَ تُبْ عَلَيَّ
yaa mojeebat tawwaabeena tub a’layya,
O Answerer of those who repent, turn to me,
اِنَّكَ اَنْتَ التَّوَّابُ الرَّحيمُ
innakat tawwaabur raheem,
“...Surely You turn and are All-compassionate.” (2:128)
حَسْبِيَ الرَّبُّ مِنَ الْمَرْبُوبينَ
hasbeyar rabbo menal marboobeena,
Sufficient for me is the Lord in place of the servants,
حَسْبِيَ الْمالِكُ مِنَ الْمَمْلُوكينَ
hasbeyal maaleko menal mamlookeena,
Sufficient for me is the King in place of the slaves,
حَسْبِيَ الْخالِقُ مِنَ الْمَخْلُوقينَ
hasbeyal khaaleqo menal makhlooqeena,
Sufficient for me is the Creator in place of the created,
حَسْبِيَ الرَّازِقُ مِنَ الْمَرْزُوقينَ
hasbeyar raazeqo menal marzooqeena,
Sufficient for me is the Sustainer in place of those given sustenance.
حَسْبِيَ اللهُ رَبُّ الْعالَمينَ
hasbeyal laaho rabbul a’alameena,
Sufficient for me is Allah, Lord of the worlds.
حَسْبي مَنْ لَمْ يَزَلْ حَسْبي
hasbee man lam yazal hasbee,
Sufficient for me is One Who continues to be Sufficient for me.
hasbee man howa hasbee,
Sufficient for me is One Who is Sufficient for me.
حَسْبِيَ اللهُ وَ نِعْمَ الْوَكيلُ
hasbeyal laaho wa ne’mal wakeel,
Sufficient for me is Allah, “...and the best Guardian” (3:173)
حَسْبِيَ اللهُ لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ هُوَ عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَ هُوَ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظيمِ
hasbeyal laaho laa elaaha illaa howa, a’layhe tawakkalto wa howa rabbul a’rshil a’zeem,
“Sufficient for me is Allah. There is no god but He. In Him I have put my trust. He is the Lord of the Mighty Throne.” (9:129)
لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اللهُ وَ اللهُ اَكْبَرُ تَكْبيراً
laa elaaha illal laaho wal laaho akbaro takbeeran
There is no god but Allah, Allah is Great,
مُبارَكاً فيهِ مِنْ اَوَّلِ الدَّهْرِ اِلى اخِرِهِ
mobaarakan feehe min awwalid dahre elaa aakherate,
a blessed magnification from the beginning of time to its end.
لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اللهُ رَبُّ كُلِّ شَيْ ءٍ وَ وارِثُهُ
laa elaaha illal laaho rabbo kulle shay-in wa waaresohu,
There is no god but Allah, Lord of everything and its Inheritor.
لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اللهُ اِلهُ الْالِهَةِ الرَّفيعُ في جَلالِهِ
laa elaaha illal laaho elaahul aalehatir rafee-o’ fee jalaalehi,
There is no god but Allah, God of the gods, Exalted in His Majesty.
لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اللهُ الْمَحْمُودُ في كُلِّ فِعالِهِ
laa elaaha illal laahul mahmoodo fee kulle fea’alehi,
There is no god but Allah, Praised in all His Actions.
لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اللهُ رَحْمانُ كُلِّ شَيْ ءٍ وَ راحِمُهُ
laa elaaha illal laaho rahmaano kulle shaymy-in wa rahemahu,
There is no god but Allah, The All-merciful of everything, having mercy on them.
لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اللهُ الْحَىُّ حينَ لا حَيَّ
laa elaaha illal laahul hayyo heena laa hayya
There is no god but Allah, the Living when there was no living being
في دَيْمُومَةِ مُلْكِهِ وَ بَقائِهِ
fee daymoomate mulkehi wa baqaa-ehi,
in the eternity of His Sovereignty and His Ever-lastingness.
لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اللهُ الْقَيُّومُ
laa elaaha illal laahul qayyoomul
There is no god but Allah, the Self-subsisting,
الَّذي لايَفُوتُ شَيْئاً عِلْمُهُ وَ لايَؤُودُهُ
lazee laa yafooto shay-an i’lmohu, wa laa ya-oodohu,
Whose Knowledge nothing escapes nor does anything burden Him.
لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اللهُ الْواحِدُ الْباقي اَوَّلُ كُلِّ شَيْ ءٍ وَ اخِرُهُ
laa elaaha illal laahul waahedul baaqee, awwalo kulle shay-in wa aakherohu,
There is no god but Allah, the One, the Eternal, the First of everything and its Last.
لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اللهُ الدَّائِمُ بِغَيْرِ فَناءِ
laa elaaha illal laahud daa-emo beghayre fanaa-in
There is no god but Allah, the Eternal without end,
wa laa zawaalin le-mulkehi,
and His Sovereignty does not cease.
لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اللهُ الصَّمَدُ مِنْ غَيْرِ شَبيهٍ
laa elaaha illal laahus samado min ghayre sabeehin,
There is no god but Allah, He is the “...One on whom all depend” (112:2)
wa laa shay-a kamislehi,
without similarity, and there is none like Him.
لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اللهُ الْبارِى ءُ
laa elaaha illal laahul baare-o,
There is no god but Allah, the Creator,
وَ لا شَيْ ءَ كُفْوُهُ وَ لا مُدانِيَ لِوَصْفِهِ
wa laa shay-a kufwohu, wa laa mo-daanee lewasfehi,
nothing is equal to Him, nor close to His description.
لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اللهُ الْكَبيرُ
laa elaaha illal laahul kabeerul
There is no god but Allah the All-Great,
الَّذي لاتَهْتَدِي الْقُلُوبُ لِعَظَمَتِهِ
lazee laa tahtadil qoloobo lea’zamatehi,
to Whose Majesty Hearts cannot find the way.
لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اللهُ الْبارِي ءُ الْمُنْشِى ءُ
laa elaaha illal laahul baare-ul munshe-o
There is no god but Allah, the Creator, the Originator,
بِلامِثالٍ خَلا مِنْ غَيْرِهِ
belaa mesaalin khalaa min ghayrehi,
without comparison to anyone other than He.
لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اللهُ الزَّاكِي
laa elaaha illal laahuz zaakeyut
There is no god but Allah, the Immaculate,
الطَّاهِرُ مِنْ كُلِّ افَةٍ بِقُدْسِهِ
taahero min kulle aafatin be-qudsehi,
Pure of every taint by His Sanctity.
لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اللهُ الْكافِي
laa elaaha illal laahul kaafeyul
There is not god but Allah, the Sufficer,
الْمُوَسِّعُ لِما خَلَقَ مِنْ عَطايا فَضْلِهِ
mowasse-o’ lemaa khalaqa min a’tayaa.
the Ample Provider of what He has created of the gifts of His Bounty.
لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اللهُ النَّقِيُّ مِنْ كُلِّ جَوْرٍ
fazlehi, laa elaaha illal laahut taqiyyo min kulle jawrin
There is no god but Allah, Secure from every tyranny;
فَلَمْ يَرْضَهُ وَ لَمْ يُخالِطْهُ فِعالُهُ
falam yarzaho, wa lam yokhaalitho fea’alohu,
He is not pleased with it nor are His Actions mixed with it.
لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اللهُ الْحَنَّانُ
laa elaaha illal laahul hannaanul
There is no god but Allah, the Compassionate,
الَّذي وَسِعَتْ كُلَّ شَيْ ءٍ رَحْمَتُهُ
lazee wase-a’t kulla shay-in rahmatohu,
Whose Mercy encompasses everything.
لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اللهُ الْمَنَّانُ
laa elaaha illal laahul mannano
There is no god but Allah, the All-gracious,
ذُو الْاِحْسانِ قَدْ عَمَّ الْخَلائِقَ مَنُّهُ
zul ehsaane qad a’mmal khalaaeqa mannohu,
Possessor of Beneficence, Whose Bounty comprehends all creatures.
لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اللهُ دَيَّانُ
laa elaaha illal laaho dayyanul
There is no god but Allah, Requiter of mankind;
الْعِبادِ فَكُلٌّ يَقُومُ خاضِعاً لِرَهْبَتِهِ
e’baade fakullun yaqoomo khaaze-a’n lerahbatehi,
everyone stands submissively in fear of Him.
لااِلهَ اِلاَّ اللهُ خالِقُ مَنْ في السَّماواتِ
laa elaaha illal laaho khaaleqo man fis samaawaate
There is no god but Allah, Creator of those in the heavens
وَ الْاَرَضينَ وَ كُلٌّ اِلَيْهِ مَعادُهُ
wal arazeena, wa kullun elayhe maa’adohu,
and the earths; everyone returns to Him.
لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اللهُ رَحْمانُ كُلِّ صَريخٍ وَ مَكْرُوبٍ
laa elaaha illal laaho rahmaano kulle sarrekhin wa makroobin,
There is no god but Allah, the All-merciful of everyone calling for help and distressed –
wa geyaadsohu wa maa’azohu,
their Aid and their Refuge.
لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اللهُ الْبارُّ فَلا تَصِفُ الْاَلْسُنُ
laa elaaha illal laahul baarro falaa taseful alsono
There is no god but Allah, the All-Benign; tongues cannot describe
كُلَّ جَلالِ مُلْكِهِ وَ عِزِّهِ
kulla jalaale mulkehi wa i’zzehi,
the complete Majesty of His Sovereignty and His Might.
لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اللهُ الْمُبْدِى ءُ الْبَرايَا
laa elaaha illal laahul mabde-ul baraayal
There is no god but Allah, Originator of mankind,
الَّذي لَمْ يَبْغِ في اِنْشائِها اَعْواناً مِنْ خَلْقِهِ
lazee lam yabghe fee inshaaehaa a-a’waanan min khalqehi,
Who does not seek helpers from his creatures for their creation.
لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اللهُ عالِمُ الْغُيُوبِ
a laa elaaha illal laaho a’alemul ghoyoobe,
There is no god but Allah, Knower of the unseen things;
فَلايَفُوتُ شَيْ ءٌ مِنْ حِفْظِهِ
falaa yaoodohu shay-un min hifzehi,
nothing in His protection burdens Him.
لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اللهُ الْمُعيدُ ما اَفْنا
laa elaaha illal laahul mo-e’edo ezaa afnaa
There is no god but Allah, the Returner to life after He causes to die,
اِذا بَرَزَ الْخَلائِقُ لِدَعْوَتِهِ مِنْ مَخافَتِهِ
ezaa barazal khalaae-qo le-da’watehi min makhaafatehi,
when mankind goes forth to His call out of fear of Him.
لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اللهُ الْحَليمُ ذُوالْاَناةِ
laa elaaha illal laahul haleemo zul anaate,
There is no god but Allah, the Clement, Possessor of Forbearance;
فَلا شَيْ ءَ يَعْدِلُهُ مِنْ خَلْقِهِ
falaa shay-a ya’delohu min khalqehi,
no one among His creation is equal to Him.
لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اللهُ الْمَحْمُودُ الْفِعالُ
laa elaaha illal laahul mahmoodul fe-a’ale
There is no god but Allah, Praiseworthy in actions,
ذُوالْمَنِّ عَلى جَميعِ خَلْقِهِ بِلُطْفِهِ
zul manne a’laa jameee’ khalqehi be-lutfehi,
Possessor of Bounty over all His creatures through His Grace.
لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اللهُ الْعَزيزُ الْمَنيعُ
laa elaaha illal laahul a’zeezul manee-u’l
There is no god but Allah, the All-Powerful, the Invincible,
الْغالِبُ عَلى اَمْرِهِ فَلا شَيْ ءَ يَعْدِلُهُ
ghaalebo a’laa amrehi, falaa shay-a ya’delohu,
Prevailer over His affair, nothing equals Him.
لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اللهُ الْقاهِرُ ذُوالْبَطْشِ الشَّديدِ
laa elaaha illal laahul qaahero, zul batshish shadeedil
There is no god but Allah, the Subduer, Possessor of Great Might;
الَّذي لايُطاقُ انْتِقامُهُ
lazee la yotaaqun teqaa-mohu,
His Vengeance cannot be borne;
لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اللهُ الْمُتَعالِ
laa elaaha illal laahul mota-a’alil,
There is not god but Allah, the Exalted,
الْقَريبُ في عُلُوِّ ارْتِفاعِ دُنُوِّهِ
qareebo fee o’luwwe irte-faa-e’hi donuwwehi,
Near in the highest eminence of His Nearness.
لااِلهَ اِلاَّ اللهُ الْجَبَّارُ الْمُذَلِّلُ كُلَّ شَيْ ءٍ
laa elaaha illal laahul jabbaarul mozallelo kulla shay-in
There is not god but Allah, the All-Compelling, the Abaser of everything
بِقَهْرِ عَزيزِ سُلْطانِهِ
beqahre a’zeeze sultaanehi,
by the subduing Might of His Sovereignty.
لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اللهُ نُورُ كُلِّ شَيْ ءٍ
laa elaaha illal laaho nooro kulle shay-in,
There is no god but Allah, Light of everything,
الَّذي فَلَقَ الظُّلُماتِ نُورُهُ
allazee falaqaz zolomaate noorohu,
Whose Light split the darkness.
لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اللهُ الْقُدُّوسُ
laa elaaha illal laahul quddoosut
There is no god but Allah, the All-Holy,
الطَّاهِرُ مِنْ كُلِّ سُوءٍ وَ لا شَيْ ءَ يَعْدِلُهُ
taahero min kulle soo-in, wa laa shay-a ya’delohu, laa elaaha.
Pure of every evil and nothing equals Him.
لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اللهُ الْقَريبُ الْمُجيبُ
illal laahul qareebul mojeebul,
There is no god but Allah, the Near, the Answerer,
الْمُتَداني دُونَ كُلِّ شَيْ ءٍ قُرْبُهُ
motadaanee doona kulle shay-in qurbohu,
His Nearness draws closer than anything else.
لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اللهُ الْعالِي الشَّامِخُ فِي السَّماءِ
laa elaaha illal laahul a’alish shaamekho fis samaa-e
There is no god but Allah, the Most High, Lofty in the heavens;
فَوْقَ كُلِّ شَيْ ءٍ عُلُوُّ ارْتِفاعِهِ
fawqa kulle shay-in o’luwwo irtefaa-e’hi,
above everything is the eminence of His Exaltedness.
لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اللهُ مُبْدِعُ الْبَدائِعِ
laa elaaha illal laahul badee-u’l badaa-e-e,
There is no god but Allah, the Creator of original creations,
وَ مُعيدُهابَعْدَ فَنائِها بِقُدْرَتِهِ
wa mubde-o’haa wa moe’edohaa ba’da fanaaehaa be-qudratehi,
its Originator and Returner after its perishing by His Power.
لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اللهُ الْجَليلُ الْمُتَكَبِّرُ عَلى كُلِّ شَيْ ءٍ
laa elaaha illal laahul jaleelul motakabbero a’laa kulle shay-in,
There is no god but Allah, the Glorious, Majestic over everything;
فَالْعَدْلُ اَمْرُهُ وَ الصِّدْقُ وَعْدُهُ
fala’dlo amrohu, was sidqo wa’dohu,
just is His command and true is His Promise.
لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اللهُ الْمَجيدُ
laa elaaha illal laahul majeedo,
There is no god but Allah, the All-glorious,
فَلايَبْلُغُ الْاَوْهامُ كُلَّ شَأْنِهِ وَ مَجْدِهِ
falaa yabloghul awhaamo kulla shaanehi wa majdehi,
imaginations cannot attain the measure of all His Affair and His Glory.
لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اللهُ كَريمُ الْعَفْوِ
laa elaaha illal laaho kareemul a’fwe
There is no god but Allah, the All-generous in pardoning
وَ الْعَدْلِ الَّذي مَلَأَ كُلَّ شَيْ ءٍ عَدْلُهُ
wal a’dlil, lazee mala-a kulla shay-in a’dlohu,
and justice; His Justice pervades everything.
لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اللهُ الْعَظيمُ ذُوالثَّناءِ الْفاخِرِ
laa elaaha illal laahul a’zeemo zus sanaa-il faakhere
There is no god but Allah, the All-mighty, Possessor of Glorious Praise
وَ الْعِزِّ وَ الْكِبْرِياءِ فَلايَذِلُّ عِزُّهُ
wal i’zze wal kibreyaa-e, falaa yazillo i’zzohu,
and Might and Majesty; His Might is not humbled.
لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اللهُ الْعَجيبُ
laa elaaha illal laahul a’jeebo,
There is no god but Allah, the Extraordinary;
فَلاتَنْطِقُ الْأَلْسُنُ بِكُلِّ الائِهِ وَ ثَنائِهِ
falaa tantequl alsono bekulle aalaa-ehi wa sanaa-ehi,
tongues cannot express all His blessings and His Praise.
وَ هُوَ كَما اَثْنى عَلى نَفْسِهِ وَ وَصَفَها بِهِ
wa howa kamaa asnaa a’laa nafsehi wa wasafahaa behi
He is as He has praised and described Himself :
اللهُ الرَّحْمانُ الرَّحيمُ الْحَقُّ الْمُبينُ
allaahur rahmaanur raheemul, haqqul mobeenul
Allah, the All-merciful, the All-compassionate, “...the Mainifest Truth” (24:25),
الْبُرْهانُ الْعَظيمُ الْعَليمُ الْحَكيمُ الرَّبُّ الْكَريمُ
burhaanul a’zeemul a’leemul hakeemur rabbul kareemus
the Mighty Proof, the All-mighty, the All-knowing, the All-wise, the All-generous Lord;
السَّلامُ الْمُؤْمِنُ الْمُهَيْمِنُ الْعَزيزُ الْجَبَّارُ الْمُتَكَبِّرُ
salaamul moamenul mohaymenul a’zeezul jabbaarul motakabberul
“...the Peaceloving, the Bestower of conviction, the Guardian, the Invincible, the Supreme, the Great absolute...” (59:23);
الْخالِقُ الْبارِى ءُ الْمُصَوِّرُ
khaalequl baare-ul mosawwerun
“...the Creator, the Maker, the Fashioner” (59:24);
النُّورُ الْحَميدُ الْكَبيرُ
noorul hameedul kabeero,
the Light, the All-praised, the All-great.
لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ هُوَ عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَ هُوَ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظيمِ
laa elaaha illaa howa a’layhe tawakkalto, wa howa rabbul a’rshil a’zeeme.
“...There is no god but He. In Him I have put my trust. He is the Lord of the Mighty Throne.” (9:129)
