Supplication 151- Day 28 of the month from Al-Sahifa e Alaviya
بِسْمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحْمٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
bismillahi alrrahmani alrrahimi
In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.
اَللَّهُمَّ اِنّي اَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْ ءٍ هُوَ دُونَكَ
allaahumma innee ao’ozo beka min kulle shay-in howa doonaka.
Allah, I take refuge in You from everything other than You.
اَللَّهُمَّ اَنْتَ الْكَبيرُ الْاَكْبَرُ مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْ ءٍ
allaahumma antal kabeerul akbaro min kulle shay-in.
O Allah, You are the All-great, Greater than everything.
اَللَّهُمَّ لا تَحْرِمْني خَيْرَ ما اَعْطَيْتَني
allaahumma laa tahrimnee khayra maa a-a’taytanee,
O Allah, do not take away from me the best of what You have given me
وَ لا تَفْتِنّي بِما مَنَعْتَني
wa laa taftinnee bemaa mana’tanee.
and do not try me with what You have withheld from me.
اَللَّهُمَّ اِنّي اَسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَ ما تُعْطي عِبادَكَ مِنَ الْاَهْلِ وَ الْمالِ وَ الْايمانِ وَ الْاَمانَةِ
allaahumma innee asaloka khayra maa to’tee e’baadaka menal ahle wal maale wal eemaane wal amaanate
O Allah, I ask You the best of what You have bestowed on Your creatures of family, wealth, children, belief, security
وَ الْوَلَدِ النَّافِعِ غَيْرِ الْمُضِرِّ وَ لاَ الضَّارِّ
wal waladin naa-fe-e’ ghayral mozirre wa laz zaarre.
and a beneficial child, neither harmful nor injurious.
اَللَّهُمَّ اِنّي اِلَيْكَ فَقيرٌ وَ مِنْكَ خائِفٌ
allaahumma innee elayka faqeerun, wa minka khaa-efun,
O Allah, I am needy of You and fearful of You
wa beka mustajeerun.
and seek Your protection.
اَللَّهُمَّ لا تُبَدِّلْ اسْمي وَ لاتُغَيِّرْ جِسْمي
allaahumma laa tobaddil ismee, wa laa toghayyeir jismee,
O Allah, do not change my name or alter my body,
wa laa tujhid balaa-ee,
do not make distressing my affliction
لا تُتْبِعْني بِبَلاءٍ عَلى اَثَرِ بَلاءٍ
wa laa tut-be’nee balaa-in a’laa asare balaa-in.
and do not let trial upon trial pursue me.
اَللَّهُمَّ اِنّي اَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ غِنىً مُطْغٍ
allaahumma innee ao’ozo beka min ghenan mut-ghin,
O Allah, I take refuge in You from wealth that leads to inordinate disobedience,
اَوْ هَوىً مُرْدٍ اَوْ عَمَلٍ مُخْزٍ
aw hawan murdin, aw a’malin mukhzin.
desires that cause destruction and actions that cause disgrace.
اَللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْلي ذُنُوبي وَ اقْبَلْ تَوْبَتي
allaahummagh fir lee zonoobee, waq bal tawbatee,
O Allah, forgive my sins, accept my repentance,
وَ أَظْهِرْ حُجَّتي وَ اسْتُرْ عَوْرَتي
wa azhir hujjatee, was tur a’wratee,
manifest my testimony, veil my defects
وَ اجْعَلْ مُحَمَّداً وَ الَ مُحَمَّدٍ
waj a’l mohammadan wa aala mohammadenil
and make Muhammad and the family of Muhammad,
الْمُصْطَفَيْنَ اَوْلِيائي يَسْتَغْفِرُونَ لي
mustafayna awleyaaee wa yastaghferoona lee.
the chosen ones, my guardians, asking forgiveness for me.
اَللَّهُمَّ اِنّي اَعُوذُ بِكَ اَنْ اَقُولَ قَوْلاً
allaahumma innee a-o’ozo beka an aqoola qawlan
O Allah, I take refuge in You from saying a word
هُوَ مِنْ طاعَتِكَ اُريدُ بِهِ سِوى وَجْهِكَ
howa min taa-a’teka oreedo behi sewaa wajheka.
in obedience to You by which I desire other than Your Countenance.
اَللَّهُمَّ اِنّي اَعُوذُ بِكَ اَنْ يَكُونَ غَيْري
allaahumma innee ao’ozo beka an yakoona ghayree
O Allah, I take refuge in You from anyone other than me
اَسْعَدَ بِما اتَيْتَني مِنّي
as-a’da bemaa aataytanee minnee.
being more fortunate in what You have given me.
اَللَّهُمَّ اِنّي اَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ الشَّيْطانِ
allaahumma innee ao’ozo beka min sharrish shaytaane,
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the evil of the Shaytan,
وَ مِنْ شَرِّ السُّلْطانِ
wa min sharris sultaane,
from the evil of the ruler
وَ مِنْ شَرِّ ما تَجْري بِهِ َلْاَقْلَامُ
wa min sharre maa tajree behil aqlaamo,
and from the evil of what the pens write;
وَ اَسْأَلُكَ عَمَلاً بارّاً
wa asaloka a’malan baarran,
I ask You for virtuous action,
وَ عَيْشاً قارّاً وَ رِزْقاً دارّاً
wa a’yshan qaarran, wa rizqan daarran.
a happy life and continual sustenance.
اَللَّهُمَّ كَتَبْتَ الْاثامَ
allaahumma katabtal aasaama,
O Allah, You have recorded the sins,
وَ اطَّلَعْتَ عَلَى السَّرائِرِ
wat tala’ta a’las saraa-ere,
have knowledge of the secrets
وَ حُلْتَ بَيْنَ الْقُلُوبِ
wa hulta baynal qoloobe
and intervene between the hearts.
وَ الْقُلُوبُ اِلَيْكَ مُصْغِيَةٌ
wal qoloobo elayka musgheyatun,
Hearts are inclined towards You,
وَ السِّرُّ عِنْدَكَ عَلانِيَةٌ
was srirro i’ndaka a’laaneyatun,
the secret is manifest before You,
وَ اِنَّما اَمْرُكَ لِشَيْ ءٍ اِذَا اَرَدْتَهُ
wa innamaa amroka leshay-in ezaa aradtahu
And Your only command to a thing,
اَنْ تَقُولَ لَهُ كُنْ فَيَكُونُ
an taqoola lahu kun fayakoon.
when You will it, is to say to it “Be”and it is (Ref. 16:40)
اَللَّهُمَّ اِنّى اَسْأَلُكَ بِرَحْمَتِكَ اَنْ تُدْخِلَ بِها طاعَتَكَ في كُلِّ عُضْوٍ مِنّي لِاَعْمَلَ بِها
allaahumma innee as-aloka berahmateka an tudkhela taa-a’teka fee kulle u’zwin minnee le-a-a’mala behaa,
O Allah, I ask You by Your Mercy to enter obedience to You into every member of my body so that I act according to it,
ثُمَّ لاتُخْرِجَها مِنّي اَبَداً
summa laa tukhrijhaa minnee abadan.
then do not remove it from me ever.
اَللَّهُمَّ وَ اَسْأَلُكَ أَنْ تُخْرِجَ مَعْصِيَتَكَ
allaahumma wa asaloka an tukhreja ma’seyateka
O Allah, I ask You to remove disobedience to You
مِنْ كُلِّ أَعْضائي بِرَحْمَتِكَ لِاَنْتَهِىَ عَنْها
min kulle a-a’zaa-ee berahmateka leantaheya a’nhaa,
from all members of my body, by Your Mercy, so that I forsake it,
ثُمَّ لا تُعيدَها اِلَيَّ اَبَداً
summa laa to-e’edo behaa elayya abadan.
and then do not return it to me ever.
اَللَّهُمَّ اِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنّي
allaahumma inna a’fwun tohibbul a’fwa, fa’fo a’nnee.
O Allah, You are Very Forgiving and You love forgiveness, so forgive me.
اَللَّهُمَّ كُنْتَ وَ لا شَيْ ءَ قَبْلَكَ بِمَحْسُوسٍ
allaahumma kunta wa laa shay-a qablaka bemahsoosin
O Allah, You were, and there was nothing perceptible before You,
aw yakoono akheeran,
nor will be after You.
وَ اَنْتَ الْحَىُّ الْقَيُّومُ
wa antal hayyul qayyoomo,
You are “...the Ever-living, the Self-subsisting” (2:255);
تَنامُ الْعُيُونُ وَ تَغُورُ النُّجُومُ
tanaamul o’yoono, wa toghoorun nojoomo,
The eyes sleep and the stars set,
وَ لا تَأْخُذُكَ سِنَةٌ وَ لا نَوْمٌ
wa laa taakhozoka senatun wa laa nawmun,
but slumber seizes You not, neither sleep (Ref. 2:255)
صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ الِ مُحَمَّدٍ
salle a’laa mohammadin wa aale mohammadin,
Bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad
وَ فَرِّجْ هَمّي وَ غَمّي
wa farrij hammee wa ghammee,
and remove my anxiety and sorrow,
وَ اجْعَلْ لي مِنْ كُلِّ اَمْرٍ يُهِمُّني فَرَجاً وَ مَخْرَجاً
waj a’l lee min kulle amrin yohimmonee farajan wa makhrajan,
make for me a repose and a release from every anxiety that disquiets me,
وَ ثَبِّتْ رَجاءَكَ في قَلْبي
wa sabbit rajaa-aka fee qalbee
and confirm hope of You in my heart
لِتَصُدَّني عَنْ رَجاءِ الْمَخْلُوقينَ
letasuddanee a’n rajaa-il makhlooqeena,
so that You turn me away from hope in mankind
وَ رَجاءِ مَنْ سِواكَ حَتَّى لا يَكُونَ ثِقَتي اِلاَّ بِكَ
wa rajaa-e man sewaaka, hattaa laa yakoona seqatee illaa beka.
and in anyone other than You, so that my trust is only in You.
اَللَّهُمَّ لا تَرُدَّني في غَمْرَةٍ ساهِيَةٍ
allaahumma laa taruddanee fee ghamratin saaheyatin,
O Allah, do not return me into the depths of heedlessness,
wa laa tastadrijnee,
neither seize me (for punishment) little by little (by continuance of favour),
وَ لا تَكْتُبْني مِنَ الْغافِلينَ
wa laa taktubnee menal ghaafeleena.
nor record me among the neglectful.
اَللَّهُمَّ اِنّي اَعُوذُ بِكَ أَنْ اُضِلَّ عِبادَكَ
allaahumma innee ao’ozo beka an ozilla e’baadaka
O Allah, I take refuge in You from misleading Your servants
وَ أَنْ اَسْتَريبَ إجابَتَكَ
wa an astareeba ejaabataka.
and being in doubt about Your answer.
اَللَّهُمَّ اِنَّ لي ذُنُوباً قَدْ اَحْصاها كِتابُكَ
allaahumma inna lee zonooban qad ahsaahaa ketaaboka,
O Allah, I have committed sins which Your Book has numbered,
wa ahaata behaa i’lmoka,
and which You encompass in knowledge
wa latofa behaa khubroka,
and with which Your Knowledge is subtly acquainted;
وَ اَنَا الْخاطِي ءُ الْمُذْنِبُ
wa anal khaate-ul muznebo,
I am the sinful wrong-doer,
وَ اَنْتَ الرَّبُّ الْغَفُورُ الْمُحْسِنُ
wa antar rabbul ghafoorul mohseno,
and You are the Gracious, Forgiving Lord.
اَرْغَبُ اِلَيْكَ فِي التَّوْبَةِ وَ الْاِنابَةِ
arghabo elayka fit tawbate wal enaabate,
I petition You for forgiveness and repentance
وَ اَسْتَقيلُكَ مِمَّا سَلَفَ مِنّي
wa astaqeeloka mimmaa salafa minnee,
and I seek Your forgiveness for what I have committed in the past,
فَاعْفُ عَنّي وَ اغْفِرْلي ما سَلَفَ مِنْ ذُنُوبي
fa’fo a’nnee, wagh fir lee maa salafa min zonoobee,
therefore, pardon me and forgive me my past sins;
اِنَّكَ اَنْتَ التَّوَّابُ الرَّحيمُ
innaka antat tawwaabur raheem.
“...Surely You trun and are All-compassionate.” (2:128)
اَللَّهُمَّ اَنْتَ أَوْلى بِرَحْمَتي مِنْ كُلِّ أَحَدٍ فَارْحَمْني
allaahumma ant awlaa berahmatee min kulle ahadin farhamnee,
O Allah, You are more worthy of having mercy on me than all others, so have mercy on me
وَ لا تُسَلِّطْ عَلَيَّ فِي الدُّنْيا وَ الْاخِرَةِ مَنْ لايَرْحَمُني
wa laa tosallit a’layya fid dunyaa wal aakherate man laa yarhamonee.
and do not give authority over me in this world and the Hereafter to one who does not have mercy on me.
اَللَّهُمَّ وَ لا تَجْعَلْ ما سَتَرْتَ عَلَيَّ مِنْ اَفْعالِ الْعُيُوبِ بِكَرامَتِكَ
allaahumma wa laa taj-a’l maa satarta a’layya min af-a’alil soyoobe bekaraamateka
O Allah, do not make the hidden actions that You have veiled for me by Your Generosity
اسْتِدْراجاً لِتَأْخُذَني بِهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيامَةِ
istidraajan letaakhozanee behi yawmal qeyaamate,
a means of drawing me in (for punishment) gradually (by continuance of favour), in order to seize me on the Day of Judgement
وَ تَفْضَحَني بِذلِكَ عَلى رُؤُوسِ الْخَلائِقِ
wa tafzahnee be-zaaleka a’laa ro-oosil khalaaeqe,
and disgrace me by that before the gathering of people.
وَ اعْفُ عَنّي فِي الدَّارَيْنِ كُلِّها
wa’ fo a’nnee fid daarayne kullayhemaa
Pardon me in both abodes,
يا رَبِّ فَاِنَّكَ غَفُورٌ رَحيمٌ
yaa rabbe, fa-innaka ghafoorun raheem.
O my Lord; surely You are “...All-fogiving, All-compassionate” (2:173)
اَللَّهُمَّ اِنْ لَمْ اَكُنْ اَهْلاً اَنْ أَبْلُغَ رَحْمَتَكَ
allaahumma in lam akun ahlan an ablogha rahmatok,
O Allah, if I am not worthy of attaining Your Mercy
فَاِنَّ رَحْمَتَكَ اَهْلٌ أَنْ تَبْلُغَني
fa inna rahmataka ahlun an tabloghanee
then Your Mercy is worthy of reaching me
وَ تَسَعَني لِاَنَّها وَسِعَتْ كُلَّ شَيْ ءٍ وَ اَنَا شَيْ ءٌ
wa tasa- a’nee, le-annahaa wase-a’t kulla shay-in, wa anaa shay-un
and encompassing me, for it encompasses all things and I am a thing;
فَلْتَسَعْني رَحْمَتُكَ يا اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمينَ
faltasa’nee rahmatoka yaa arhamar raahemeen.
therefore let Your Mercy encompass me, O Most merciful of the merciful.
اَللَّهُمَّ وَ اِنْ كُنْتَ خَصَصْتَ بِذلِكَ عِباداً
allaahumma wa in kunta khasasta bezaaleka e’baadan
O Allah, even if You have bestowed that on servants
اَطاعُوكَ فيما اَمَرْتَهُمْ بِهِ
ataa-o’oka feemaa amartahum behi,
who were obedient to You in what You commanded them,
وَ عَمِلُوا لَكَ فيما خَلَقْتَهُمْ لَهُ
wa a’meloo laka feemaa khalaqtahum lahu,
and strove for You in that for which You created them –
فَاِنَّهُمْ لَمْ يَنالُوا ذلِكَ اِلاَّ بِكَ
fainnahum lam yanaaloo zaaleka illa beka,
they did not attain that except through You
وَ لَمْ يُوَفِّقْهُمْ لَهُ اِلاَّ اَنْتَ
wa lam yowaffiqhum lahu illaa anta,
and none directed them to it but You;
كانَتْ رَحْمَتُكَ لَهُمْ قَبْلَ طاعَتِهِمْ لَكَ
kaanat rahmatoka lahum qabla taa-a’tehim laka
Your Mercy to them preceded their obedience to You,
yaa arhamar raahemeen.
O Most merciful of the merciful.
اَللَّهُمَّ فَخُصَّني يا سَيِّدي وَ مَوْلاىَ
allaahumma fakhussanee yaa sayyedee wa mawlaaya,
O Allah, so confer on me, my Lord, my Master,
يا اِلهي وَ يا كَهْفي وَ يا حِرْزي يا قُوَّتي
yaa elaahee wa yaa kahfee, wa yaa hirzee, wa ya quwwatee,
my God, my Sanctuary, my Refuge, my Strength,
وَ يا جابِري وَ يا خالِقي وَ يا رازِقي
wa yaa jaaberee, wa yaa khaaleqee, wa yaa raazeqee
my Restorer, my Creator and my Sustainer,
بِما خَصَصْتَهُمْ بِهِ وَ وَفِّقْني لِما وَفَّقْتَهُمْ لَهُ
bemaa khasastahum behi wa waffiqnee lemaa waffaqtahum lahu,
what You have conferred on them, direct me to what You have directed them,
وَ ارْحَمْني كَما رَحِمْتَهُمْ رَحْمَةً لامَّةً
war hamnee kamaa rahimtahum rahmatan laammatan
and have mercy on me as You have had mercy on them, a consolidated,
تامَّةً عامَّةً يا اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمينَ
taammatan a’ammatan yaa arhamar raahemeen,
complete, comprehensive Mercy, O Most merciful of the merciful.
يا مَنْ لايَشْغَلُهُ سَمْعٌ عَنْ سَمْعٍ
yaa man laa yashghalohu sam-u’n a’n sam-i’n,
O One Whom hearing (one person) does not occupy from hearing (another),
يا مَنْ لايُغَلِّطُهُ السَّائِلُونَ
yaa man laa yoghalletohus saaeloona,
O One to Whom questioners do not attribute mistakes,
يا مَنْ لايُبْرِمُهُ اِلْحاحُ الْمُلِحّينَ
yaa man laa yubremohu ilhaahul molehheena,
O One Who is not vexed by the importuning of petitioners,
اَذِقْني بَرْدَ عَفْوِكَ وَ حَلاوَةَ ذِكْرِكَ وَ رَحْمَتِكَ
aziqnee barda a’fweka wa halaawata zikreka wa rahmateka.
give me to taste the coolness of Your Pardon and the sweetness of Your remembrance and Mercy.
اَللَّهُمَّ اِنّي اَسْتَغْفِرُكَ لِما تُبْتُ
allaahumma innee astaghferoka lemaa tubto
O Allah, I ask You forgiveness for that from which I repented
اِلَيْكَ مِنْهُ ثُمَّ عُدْتُ فيهِ
elayka minho summa u’dto feehe,
to You, and then returned to.
وَ اَسْتَغْفِرُكَ لِلنِّعَمِ الَّتي اَنْعَمْتَ بِها
was taghferoka lin-nea’mil latee an-a’mta behaa
I ask You forgiveness for the blessings which You have bestowed on me
عَلَيَّ فَقَويتُ بِها عَلى مَعْصِيَتِكَ
a’layya faqaweeto behaa a’laa ma’seyateka
through which I gained strength to disobey You.
وَ اَسْتَغْفِرُكَ لِكُلِّ اَمْرٍ اَرَدْتُ بِهِ
was taghferoka le-kulle amrin arad-to behi
I ask You forgiveness for every affair through which I desired
وَجْهَكَ فَخالَطَني فيهِ ما لَيْسَ لَكَ
wajhaka fakhaalatanee feehe maa laysa laka
Your Countenance, then incorporated in it what was not for You.
وَ اَسْتَغْفِرُكَ لِما وَعَدْتُكَ مِنْ نَفْسي ثُمَّ اَخْلَفْتُكَ
was taghferoka lemaa waa’dtoka min nafsee summa akh-laftoka
I ask You forgiveness for what I promised You from myself, then broke my promise to You.
وَ اَسْتَغْفِرُكَ لِما دَعاني اِلَيْهِ الْهَوى
wa astaghferoka lemaa da-a’anee elayhil hawaa
I ask You forgiveness for what desire called me to,
مِنْ قَبُولِ الرُّخَصِ فيما اتَيْتُهُ
min qoboolir rokhase feemaa ataytohu
in yielding to the permission that I had granted it,
مِمَّا هُوَ عِنْدَكَ حَرامٌ
mimmaa howa i’ndaka haraamun
among those things that were forbidden by You.
وَ اَسْتَغْفِرُكَ لِلذُّنُوبِ الَّتي لايَعْلَمُها غَيْرُكَ
was taghferoka lizzonoobil latee laa ya’lamohaa ghayroka,
I ask You forgiveness for sins of which none have knowledge but You,
وَ لا يَسَعُها اِلاَّ حِلْمُكَ وَ عَفْوُكَ
wa laa yasa-o’haa illaa hilmoka wa a’fwoka
and which nothing but Your Forbearance and Pardon can encompass.
وَ اَسْتَغْفِرُكَ لِكُلِّ يَمينٍ حَنِثْتُ فيها عِنْدَكَ
wa astaghferoka lekulle yameenin hanisto feehaa i’ndaka,
I ask You forgiveness for every oath I have violated before You.
يا ذَاالْجَلالِ وَ الْاِكْرامِ
yaa zal jalaale wal ikraame,
O “...Possessor of Majesty and Honour.” (55:78) !
يا مَنْ عَرَّفَني نَفْسَهُ
ya man a’rrafanee nafsahu
O One who has made Himself known to me,
laa tashghalnee be-ghayreka,
do not occupy me with other than You,
وَ لا تَكِلْني اِلى سِواكَ
wa laa takilnee elaa sewaaka,
and entrust me to none but You;
وَ اَغْنِني بِكَ عَنْ كُلِّ مَخْلُوقٍ غَيْرِكَ
wagh nenee beka a’n kulle makhlooqin ghayreka
make me sufficient through You from every creature other than You,
yaa arhamar raahemeen,
O Most merciful of the merciful,
وَ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ الِهِ الطَّاهِرينَ
wa sallal laaho a’laa mohammadin wa aalehit taahereen.
and may Allah bless Muhammad and his family, the pure.
