Supplication 148- Day 25 of the month from Al-Sahifa e Alaviya
بِسْمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحْمٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
bismillahi alrrahmani alrrahimi
In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.
اَعُوذُ بِكَلِماتِ اللهِ التَّامَّاتِ الَّتي
a-o’ozo bekalemaatil laahit taammaatil latee
I take refuge in the Perfect Words of Allah which
لا يُجاوِزُهُنَّ بَرٌّ وَ لا فاجِرٌ مِنْ شَرّ
laa yojaawezohunna barrun wa laa faajerun, min sharre
neither righteous nor wicked can transcend,
ِ ما ذَرَأَ فِي الْاَرْضِ وَ ما يَخْرُجُ مِنْها
maa zara-a fil arze wa maa yakhrojo minhaa,
from the evil of what He created in the earth and what comes forth from it,
وَ ما يَنْزِلُ مِنَ السَّماءِ وَ ما يَعْرُجُ فيها
wa maa yanzelo menas samaae wa maa ya’rojo feehaa
what comes down from the heaven and what ascends in it;
وَ مِنْ شَرِّ طَوارِقِ اللَّيْلِ وَ النَّهارِ
wa min sharre tawaareqil layle wan nahaare
and from the evil of the Happenings of the night and the day,
وَ مِنْ شَرِّ كُلِّ طارقٍ اِلاَّ طارِقاً يَطْرُقُ بِخَيْرٍ
wa min sharre kulle taareqin illaa taareqan yatroqo bekhayrin
and from the evil of every corner except one who comes with good,
yaa rahmaan.
O Merciful.
اَللَّهُمَّ اِنّي اَسْأَلُكَ ايماناً لا يَرْتَدُّ وَ نَعيماً لا يَنْفَدُ
allaahumma innee as-aloka eemaanan laa yartaddo, wa nae’eman laa yanfado,
O Allah, I ask You for faith that does not revert (to disbelief), blessing that does not end,
وَ مُرافَقَةَ النَّبِيِّ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ الِهِ الْاَخْيارِ
wa moraafaqatan nabiyye mohammadin wa aalehil akhyaarit
and the companionship of the Prophet Muhammad and his family, the excellent,
الطَّيِّبينَ في اَعْلى جَنَّةِ الْخُلْدِ
tayyebeena fee aa’laa jannatil khulde,
the good, in the highest Garden of Eternity
مَعَ النَّبِيّينَ وَ الصِّدّيقينَ وَ الشُّهَداءِ وَ الصَّالِحينَ وَ حَسُنَ اُولئِكَ رَفيقاً
ma-a’n nabiyyeena was siddeeqeena wash shohadaa-e was saaleheena wa hasona oolaa-eka rafeeqaa.
with the “...Prophets, the truthful, the witnesses, and the righteous; excellent are they as companions!” (4:69)
اَللَّهُمَّ اٰمِن رَوْعَتي وَ اسْتُرْ عَوْرَتي
allaahumma aamin raw-a’tee, was tur a’wratee,
O Allah, make me secure from my fear, veil my defects
وَ اَقِلْني عَثْرَتي فَاَنْتَ اللهُ لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اَنْتَ
wa aqilnee a’sratee fa-antal laaho laa elaaha illaa anta,
forgive my lapses, for You are Allah, there is no god but You,
wahdaka laa shareeka laka,
the One, no partner have You.
لَكَ الْمُلْكُ وَ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ وَ اَنْتَ عَلى كُلِّ شَيْ ءٍ قَديرٌ
lakal mulko wa lakal hamdo, wa anta a’laa kulle shay-in qadeer.
To You belongs the Kingdom and to You belongs the praise, and You are powerful over everything. (Ref. 64:1)
اَللَّهُمَّ اِنّي اَسْأَلُكَ لِاَنَّكَ اَنْتَ الْمَسْئُولُ
allaahumma innee asaloka le-annaka antal mas-oolul
O Allah, I ask You for You are the One asked,
الْمَحْمُودُ الْمُتَوَحِّدُ الْمَعْبُودُ
mahmoodul motawahhedul ma’boodo
the Praised, the Sole, the Worshipped;
وَ اَنْتَ الْمَنَّانُ ذُوالْاِحْسانِ
wa antal mannaano zul ehsaane,
You are the Bountiful, Possessor of Goodness,
بَديعُ السَّماواتِ وَ الْاَرْضِ
ba-dee-u’s samaawaate wal arze,
"Originator of the heavens and the earth...” (2:117)
ذُوالْجَلالِ وَ الْاِكْرامِ
zul jalaale wal ikraame,
“...Possessor of Majesty and Honour.” (55:78)
اَنْ تَغْفِرَلي ذُنُوبي كُلَّها
an taghfera lee zonoobee kullahaa,
To forgive me all my sins,
صَغيرَها وَ كَبيرَها عَمْدَها وَ خَطَأَها
sagheerahaa wa kabeerahaa, a’mdahaa wa khataahaa,
the small and the great, the intentional and mistaken,
وَ ما نَسيتُهُ اَنَا مِنْ نَفْسي وَ حَفِظْتَهُ اَنْتَ عَلَىَّ
wa maa naseetohu anaa min nafsee wa hafiztahu anta a’layya,
that which I have forgotten myself and You have remembered against me
اِنَّكَ اَنْتَ التَّوَّابُ الرَّحيمُ
innaka antat tawwaabur raheem.
“...Surely You are the Oft-turning and are All-compassionate” (2:128)
يا اَللهُ يا بَديعَ السَّماواتِ وَ الْاَرْضِ
yaa allaaho yaa badee-a’s samaawaate wal arze,
O Allah, O “Originator of the heavens and the earth...” (2:117),
يا ذَاالْجَلالِ وَ الْاِكْرامِ
yaa zal jalaale wal ikraame,
O “...Possessor of Majesty and Honour” (55:78)
يا صَريخَ الْمُسْتَصْرِخينَ
yaa sareekhal mustasrekheena,
O Succour of those who call for help.
وَ يا غِياثَ الْمُسْتَغيثينَ
wa yaa gheyaasal mustagheeseena,
O the Redresser of grievances
وَ مُنْتَهى رَغْبَةِ الرَّاغِبينَ
wa muntahaa raghbatar raaghebeen,
and the centre for those who love to be inclined towards You.
اَنْتَ الْمُفَرِّجُ عَنِ الْمَكْرُوبينَ
antal mofarrejo a’nil makroobeena,
You are the Dispeller of the Agony of those in distress.
وَ اَنْتَ الْمُرَوِّحُ عَنِ الْمَغْمُومينَ
wa antal morawweho a’nil maghmoomeena,
You are the Bestower of pleasure to the sad.
وَ اَنْتَ مُجيبُ دَعْوَةِ الْمُضْطَرّينَ
wa anta mojeebo da’watil muztarreena,
You are the Answerer to the call of those in distress.
وَ اَنْتَ اِلهُ الْعالَمينَ
wa anta elaahul a’alameena,
You are devotedly worshipped by the Worlds!
وَ اَنْتَ اَرْحَمُ الرَّاحِمينَ
wa anta arhamur raahemeena,
You are the Most Merciful.
وَ اَنْتَ كاشِفُ كُلِّ كُرْبَةٍ
wa anta kaashefo kulle kurbatin,
You are Dispeller of every affliction
وَ مُنْتَهى كُلِّ رَغْبَةٍ
wa muntahaa kulle raghbatin,
and the destination for achievement of the desires
وَ قاضي كُلِّ حاجَةٍ صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ الِهِ
wa qaazee kulle haajatin, salle a’laa mohammadin wa aalehi,
Fulfiller of every need, Bless Muhammad (s.a.w.a.) and his Progeny
وَ افْعَلْ بي ما اَنْتَ اَهْلُهُ
waf a’l bee maa anta ahlohu,
and treat me in the way that befits Your honour.
لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اَنْتَ رَبّي وَ اَنْتَ سَيِّدي
laa elaaha illaa anta rabbee wa anta sayyedee,
There is no deity save You my Lord. You are my Master
وَ اَنَا عَبْدُكَ وَ ابْنُ عَبْدِكَ وَ ابْنُ اَمَتِكَ
wa a’naa a’bdoka wab no a’bdeka wab no amateka,
and I am Your slave, son of Your slave and son of Your maid.
ناصِيَتي بِيَدِكَ عَمِلْتُ سُوءاً
naaseyatee beyadeka, a’milto soo-an
My destiny is within Your control.
wa zalamto nafsee,
I have been unjust tomyself
وَ اعْتَرَفْتُ بِذَنْبي وَ اَقْرَرْتُ بِخَطيئَتي
wa’ tarafto bezanbee, wa aqrarto bekhatee-atee.
and I confess my sins and misdeeds.
اَسْأَلُكَ بِاَنَّ لَكَ الْمَنَّ يا مَنَّانُ
asaloka be-anna lakal manno yaa mannaano,
I beseech You for it is Your right to bestow favours, O the Great Benefactor!
يا بَديعَ السَّماواتِ وَ الْاَرْضِ
yaa ba-dee-a’s samaawaate wal arze
O the Innovator of the Heavens and the Earth !
يا ذَاالْجَلالِ وَ الْاِكْرامِ
yaa zal jalaale wal ikraame,
O the Glorious and the Gracious !
صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدِكَ وَ رَسُولِكَ وَ عَلى الِهِ
salle a’laa mohammadin a’bdeka wa rasooleka wa a’laa aalehi
Bestow upon Muhammad (s.a.w.a.) Your Bondsman and messenger and on his Progeny
اَفْضَلَ صَلَواتِكَ عَلى اَحَدٍ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ
afzala salawaateka a’laa ahadin min khalqeka,
the best of Your blessings never bestowed on anyone of Your Creation.
وَ اَسْأَلُكَ بِالْقُدْرَةِ الَّتي
wa as-aloka bilqudratil latee
I ask You by the Power with which
فَلَقْتَ بِهَا الْبَحْرَ لِبَني اِسْرائيلَ
falaqta behal bahra lebanee israa-eela,
You parted the sea for the Bani Isra’il
لَمَّا كَفَيْتَني كُلَّ باغٍ
lammaa kafaytanee kulla baaghin
that You protect me from every tyrant,
وَ حاسِدٍ وَ عَدُوٍّ وَ مُخالِفٍ
wa haasedin wa a’duwwin wa mokhaalefin,
envious one, enemy and opponent.
وَ اَسْأَلُكَ بِالْاِسْمِ الَّذي نَتَقْتَ بِهِ الْجَبَلَ فَوْقَهُمْ كَاَنَّهُ ظُلَّةٌ
wa as-aloka bil-ismil lazee nataqta behil jabala fawqahum kaannahu zullatun
I ask you by the Name by which You "...shook the mountain above them as if it were a covering..." (7:171)
لَمَّا كَفَيْتَني ما اَخافُهُ مِنْهُمْ وَ اَحْذَرُهُ
lammaa kafaytanee maa akhaafohu wa ahzarohu.
That You protect me from what I fear and that of which I am wary.
اَللّهُمَّ اِنّي اَدْرَأُ بِكَ في نُحُورِهِمْ
allaahumma innee adra-o beka fee nohoorehim,
O Allah, I attack (them) through You in their breasts,
وَ اَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شُرُورِهِمْ
wa ao’ozo beka min shoroorehi,
I take refuge in You from their evil.
وَ اَسْتَجيرُ بِكَ مِنْهُمْ وَ اَسْتَعينُ بِكَ عَلَيْهِمْ
wa astajeero beka minhum, wa as-tae’eno beka a’layhim,
And I seek protection in You from them and seek Your help against them.
اَللهُ اَللهُ رَبّي لا اُشْرِكُ بِهِ شَيْئاً
allaaho allaaho rabbee laa ushreko behi shay-an,
Allah, Allah is my Lord; none do I associate with Him,
وَ لا اَتَّخِذُ مِنْ دُونِهِ ولِيّاً
wa laa attakhezo min doonehi waliyyan.
nor do I take other than Him as a protector...
