Supplication 143- Day 20 of the month from Al-Sahifa e Alaviya
بِسْمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحْمٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
bismillahi alrrahmani alrrahimi
In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.
اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ الِ مُحَمَّدٍ
allaahumma salle a’laa mohammadin wa aale mohammadin,
O Allah, commend Muhammad and the family of Muhammad,
وَ ارْحَمْ مُحَمَّداً وَ الَ مُحَمَّدٍ
war ham mohammadan wa aala mohammadin,
have mercy on Muhammad and the family of Muhammad
وَ بارِكْ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ الِ مُحَمَّدٍ
wa baarik a’laa mohammadin wa aale mohammadin,
and bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad
كَما صَلَّيْتَ وَ بارَكْتَ وَ تَرَحَّمْتَ
kamaa sallayta wa baarakta wa tarahhamta
as You have commended, blessed and had mercy
عَلى اِبْراهيمَ وَ الِ اِبْراهيمَ اِنَّكَ حَميدٌ مَجيدٌ
a’laa ibraaheema wa aale ibraaheema innaka hameedun majeed.
on Ibrahim and the family of Ibrahim; surely You are “...Praiseworthy, All-glorious” (11:73)
صَلاةً تُبَلِّغُنا بِها رِضْوانَكَ وَ الْجَنَّةَ
salaatan toballeghonaa behi rizwaanaka wa jannataka
with a blessing by which we attain your pleasure and Your Garden,
وَ تَنْجُو بِها مِنْ سَخَطِكَ وَ النَّارِ
wa nanjoo behaa min sakhateka wan naar.
and by which we are safe from Your anger and the Fire.
اَللَّهُمَّ ابْعَثْ نَبِيَّنا مُحَمَّداً صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ الِهِ
allaahummab a’s nabiyyanaa mohammadan sallal laaho a’layhe wa aalehi
O Allah, appoint our Prophet Muhammad, blessings of Allah on him and his family,
مَقاماً مَحْمُوداً يَغْبِطُهُ بِهِ الْاَوَّلُونَ وَ الْاخِرُونَ
maqaaman mahmoodan yagbetohu behil awwaloona wal aakheroona,
to a praiseworthy station to which aspire the earlier and the later peoples.
اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ وَ سَلِّمْ عَلَيْهِ وَ عَلى الِهِ
allaahumma salle wa salleim a’layhe wa a’laa aalehi,
O Allah, bless and salute him and his family,
وَ اخْصُصْهُ بِاَفْضَلِ قِسَمِ الْفَضائِلِ
wakh susho be-afzale qesamil fazaaele,
and bestow on him the most excellent share of merits
وَ بَلِّغْهُ اَفْضَلَ السُّؤْدَدِ وَ مَحَلِّ الْمُكَرَّمينَ
wa balligho afzalas soodade wa mahallil mokarrameen.
and make him attain the most excellent eminence and the station of the honoured.
اَللَّهُمَّ اخْصُصْ مُحَمَّداً صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ الِهِ
allaahummakh sus mohammadan sallal laaho a’layhe
O Allah, distinguish Muhammad, blessings of Allah on him and his Family,
بِالذِّكْرِ الْمَحْمُودِ وَ الْحَوْضِ الْمَوْرُودِ
wa aalehi biz-zikril mahmoode wah hawzil mawrood.
with praiseworthy mention and the drinking place of the Pool.
اَللَّهُمَّ شَرِّفْ بُنْيانَهُ وَ عَظِّمْ بُرْهانَهُ
allaahumma sahrrif bunyaanahu, wa a’zzim burhaanahu,
O Allah, honour his foundations and magnify his proof,
وَ اسْقِنا بِكَأْسِهِ وَ اَوْرِدْنا حَوْضَهُ
was qenaa bekaasehi, wa awridnaa hawzahu,
give us to drink from his cup, take us to his Pool,
وَ احْشُرْنا في زُمْرَتِهِ غَيْرَ خَزايا
wah shurnaa fee zumratehi ghayra khazaayaa,
and gather us in his party, unabased,
وَ لا نادِمينَ وَ لا شاكّينَ وَ لا مُبَدِّلينَ
wa laa naademeena, wa laa shaakkeena wa laa mobaddeleena,
not (among) the remorseful or the complaining, nor the alterers (of religion),
وَ لا ناكِثينَ وَ لا مُرْتابينَ وَ لا جاحِدينَ
wa laa naakeseena, wa laa murtaabeena, wa laa jaahedeena
or those who break promises, or the doubters or the deniers
وَ لا مَفْتُونينَ وَ لا ضالّينَ وَ لا مُضِلّينَ
wa laa maftooneena, wa laa zalleena wa laa mozilleena,
or those subject to temptations, or those who lead astray or those led astray,
قَدْ رَضينَا الثَّوابَ وَ اَمِنَّا الْعِقابَ
qad razeenas sawaaba, wa aaminnal e’qaaba,
satisfied with the reward and safe from the punishment,
نُزُلاً مِنْ عِنْدِكَ اِنَّكَ اَنْتَ الْعَزيزُ الْوَهَّابُ
nozolan min i’ndeka innaka antal a’zeezul wahhaab
“...a hospitality...” (3:198) from You, surely You are “...the All-Mighty, the All-giving” (38:9).
اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ الِهِ
allaahumma salle a’laa mohammadin sallal laaho a’layhe wa aalehi
O Allah, bless Muhammad, blessings of Allah on him and his family,
اِمامِ الْخَيْرِ وَ قائِدِ الْخَيْرِ
emaamil khayre, wa qaa-edil khayre,
leader of the good, chief of the good,
وَ عَظِّمْ بَرَكَتَهُ عَلى جَميعِ الْعِبادِ
wa a’zzim barakatahu a’laa jamee-i’l e’baade
and enhance the greatness of his blessing on all mankind,
وَ الْبِلادِ وَ الدَّوابِّ وَ الشَّجَرِ يا اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمينَ
wal belaade wad dawaabbe wash shajare, yaa arhamar raahemeen.
lands, animals and trees, O Most Merciful of the merciful.
اَللَّهُمَّ اَعْطِ مُحَمَّداً صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ الِهِ
allaahumma a-a’te mohammadan sallal laaho a’layhe wa aalehi
O Allah, grant Muhammad, blessings on him and his family
منْ كُلِّ كَرامَةٍ اَفْضَلَ تِلْكَ الْكَرامَةِ
min kulle karaamatin afzala tilkal karaamate,
from every honour the most excellent of that honour,
وَ مِنْ كُلِّ نِعْمَةٍ اَفْضَلَ تِلْكَ النِّعْمَةِ
wa min kulle ne’matin afzala tilkan nea’mate,
from every blessing the most excellent of that blessing,
وَ مِنْ كُلِّ يُسْرٍ اَفْضَلَ ذلِكَ الْيُسْرِ
wa min kulle yusrin afzala zaalekal yusr,
From every ease the most excellent of that ease,
وَ مِنْ كُلِّ عَطاءٍ اَفْضَلَ ذلِكَ الْعَطاءِ
wa min kulle a’taa-ein afzala zaalekal a’taa-e,
from every gift the most excellent of that gift,
وَ مِنْ كُلِّ قِسْمٍ اَفْضَلَ ذلِكَ الْقِسْمِ
wa min kulle qismin afzala zaalekal qisme
and from every share the most excellent of that share,
حَتَّى لايَكُونَ اَحَدٌ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ اَقْرَبَ مِنْهُ مَحَلاَّ
hattaa laa yakoona ahadun min khalqeka aqraba minho mahallan,
so that there is none among Your creatures closer to You in station,
وَ لا اَحْظى عِنْدَكَ مَنْزِلَةً
wa laa ahzaa i’ndaka manzelatan,
or more favourable to You in rank
وَ لا اَقْرَبَ مِنْكَ وَسيلَةً
wa laa aqraba minka waseelatan,
or closer to You as an intermediary,
وَ لا اَعْظَمَ لَدَيْكَ شَرَفاً
wa laa aa’zama a’layka sharafan
or greater with You in honour.
وَ لا اَعْظَمَ عَلَيْكَ حَقّاً وَ لا شَفاعَةً
wa laa aa’zama a’layka haqqan wa laa shafaa-a’tan
Or Mightier for You in right or in intercession
مِنْ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ الِهِ
min mohammadin sallal laaho a’layhe wa aalehi,
than Muhammad, blessings of Allah on him and his family,
في بَرْدِ الْعَيْشِ وَ الرَّوْحِ وَ قَرارِ النِّعْمَةِ
fee bardil a’yshe war rawhe wa qaraarin ne’mate,
in ease of life, happiness, permanence of blessing
وَ مُنْتَهَى الْفَضيلَةِ وَ سُؤْدَدِ الْكَرامَةِ
wa muntahal fazeelate, wa soa-datil karaamate,
utmost degree of excellence, supreme nobility,
وَ رَجاءِ الطُّمَأْنينَةِ وَ مُنَى الشَّهَواتِ
wa rajaaat tomaaneenate, wa monash shahawaate,
hope of tranquillity, fulfilment of desires.
وَ لَهْوِ اللَّذَّاتِ وَ بَهْجَةٍ لا تُشْبِهُها بَهَجاتُ الدُّنْيا
wa lahwil lazzaate, wa bahjatin laa yushbehohaa bahajaatid dunyaa
Enjoyment of pleasures and joys which have no resemblance to the joys of this world.
اَللَّهُمَّ اتِ مُحَمَّداً صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ الِهِ
allaahumma aate mohammadin sallal laaho a’layhe wa aalehil
O Allah, grant Muhammad, blessings of Allah on him and his family,
الْوَسيلَةَ وَ اَعْطِهِ الرِّفْعَةَ وَ الْفَضيلَةَ
waseelata, wa a-a’tehir rafee-a’ta wal fazeelata,
the means of attainment (to You) and bestow on him eminence and excellence,
وَ اجْعَلْ فِي الْعِلِّيّينَ دَرَجَتَهُ
waj a’l fil a-a’layna darajatahu,
and appoint his station among the most exalted,
وَ فِي الْمُصْطَفَيْنَ مَحَبَتَّهَ
wa fil mustafayna mahabbatahu,
and his love among the chosen ones,
وَ فِي الْمُقَرَّبينَ كَرامَتَهُ
wa fil moqarrabeena karaamatahu,
and his glory among those brought near.
وَ نَحْنُ نَشْهَدُ لَهُ اَنَّهُ قَدْ بَلَّغَ رِسالَتَكَ
wa nahno nash-hado lahu annahu qad ballagha resaalaataka,
We bear witness to You that he has conveyed Your message,
وَ نَصَحَ لِعِبادِكَ وَ تَلا اياتِكَ وَ اَقامَ حُدُو دَكَ
wa nasaha le-e’baadeka, wa talaa aayaateka, wa aqaama hodoodaka
sincerely consulted Your servants, recited Your verses, established Your statutes,
وَ صَدَعَ بِاَمْرِكَ وَ اَنْفَذَ حُكْمَكَ
wa sada-a’ be-amreka, wa anfaza hukmaka,
made manifest Your affair, executed Your command,
وَ وَفى بِعَهْدِكَ وَ جاهَدَ في سَبيلِكَ
wa wafaa be-a’hdeka, wa jaahada fee sabeeleka,
fulfilled Your promise, struggled in Your way
وَ عَبَدَكَ مُخْلِصاً حَتَّى اَتاهُ الْيَقينُ
wa a’badaka mukhlesan hattaa ataahul yaqeeno,
and worshipped You sincerely until ‘the certainty’ came to him (Ref. 15:99)
وَ اَنَّهُ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ الِهِ
wa annahu sallal laaho a’layhe wa aalehi
And that he, blessings of Allah on him and his family,
اَمَرَ بِطاعَتِكَ وَ ائْتَمَرَ بِها
amara betaa- a’teka wa tamara behaa,
commanded Your obedience and conformed to it,
وَ نَهى عَنْ مَعْصِيَتِكَ وَ انْتَهى عَنْها
wa nahaa a’n ma’seyateka wan tahaa a’nhaa,
Forbad Your disobedience and refrained from it,
وَ والى وَلِيَّكَ بِالَّذي تُحِبُّ اَنْ تُوالِيَهُ
wa waalaa waliyyaka billazee tohibbo an towaaleyahu,
befriended Your friend as it pleased You to befriend him,
وَ عادا عَدُوَّكَ بِالَّذي تُحِبُّ اَنْ تُعادِيَهُ
wa a’adaa a’duwwaka billazee tohibbo an toa’adeyahu,
And was hostile to Your enemy as it pleased You to be hostile to him
فَصَلَواتُكَ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ اِمامِ الْمُتَّقينَ
fasalawaatoka a’laa mohammadin emamil muttaqeena,
Therefore Your blessings on Muhammad, leader of the god-fearing,
وَ سيِّدِ الْمُرْسَلينَ وَ خاتَمِ النَّبِيّينَ
wa sayyedil mursaleena, wa khaatamin nabiyyeena
chief of the Messengers, seal of the Prophets
وَ رَسُولِكَ يا رَبَّ الْعالَمينَ
wa rasooleka yaa rabbal a’alameen.
and Your Messenger, O Lord of all Being.
اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ الِ مُحَمَّدٍ فِي اللَّيْلِ اِذا يَغْشى
allaahumma salle a’laa mohammadin wa aale mohammadin, fil layle ezaa yaghshaa.
O Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, in “the night when it veils” (92:1),
اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ الِ مُحَمَّدٍ فِي النَّهارِ اِذا تَجَلَّى
allaahumma salle a’laa mohammadin wa aale mohammadin fin nahaare ezaa tajallaa,
and bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad in “the day when it appears radiant” (92:2),
وَ صَلِّ عَلَيْهِ فِي الْاخِرَةِ وَ الْاُولى
wa salle a’layhe fil aakherate wal oolaa,
and bless him among “...the end and the beginning” (92:13),
وَ اَعْطِهِ الرِّضا وَ زِدْهُ بَعْدَ الرِّضى
wa aa’tehir rezaa, wa zidho ba’dar rezaa.
grant him the state of being well-pleased and increase him (in satisfaction) after being well-pleased
اَللَّهُمَّ اَقِرَّ عَيْنَ نَبِيِّنا مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ الِهِ
allaahumma aqirra a’yna nabiyyenaa mohammadin sallal laaho a’layhe wa aalehi
O Allah, gladden our Prophet Muhammad, blessing of Allah on him and his family,
بِمَنْ يَتَّبِعُهُ مِنْ اُمَّتِهِ وَ اَزْواجِهِ
beman yattabeo’hu min ummatehi wa azwaajehi
through those who follow him from among him community, his wives,
وَ ذُرِّيَّتِهِ وَ اَصْحابِهِ
wa zurriyyatehi wa ashaabehi,
his offspring and his companions,
وَ اجْعَلْنا وَ اَهْلَ بَيْتِهِ وَ اُمَّتِهِ جَميعاً
waj a’lnaa wa ahla baytehi wa ummatehi jamee-a’n
and make us and the people of his house, all his community,
وَ اَهْلَ بُيُوتِنا وَ مَنْ اَوْجَبْتَ حَقَّهُ عَلَيْنا
wa ahla boyootenaa, wa man awjabta haqqahu a’laynaa,
the people of our houses and those whose right You have made obligatory on us
اَلْاَحْياءَ مِنْهُمْ وَ الْاَمْواتَ مِمَّنْ قَرَّتْ بِهِ عَيْنُهُ
al-ahyaa-a minhum wal amwaata mimman qarrat behi a’ynohu.
the living among them and the dead – of those through whom he is made happy.
اَللَّهُمَّ وَ اَقْرِرْ عُيُونَنا جَميعاً بِرُؤْيَتِهِ
allaahumma wa aqrir o’yoonanaa jamee-a’n be-roayatehi,
O Allah, gladden all of us through seeing him,
ثُمَّ لا تُفَرِّقْ بَيْنَنا وَ بَيْنَهُ
summa laa tofarriq baynanaa wa baynahu.
then do not separate us from him.
اَللَّهُمَّ وَ اَوْرِدْنا حَوْضَهُ وَ اسْقِنا بِكَأْسِهِ
allaahumma wa awridnaa hawzahu wa asqenaa bekaa-sehi,
O Allah, take us to his pool, give us to drink with his cup,
وَ احْشُرْنا في زُمْرَتِهِ وَ تَحْتَ لِوائِهِ
wah shurnaa fee zumratehi wa tahta lewaaehi,
gather us in his party and under his banner
وَ لا تَحْرِمْنا مُوافَقَتَهُ
wa laa tahrimnaa moraafaqatahu,
and do not deny us his companionship;
اِنَّكَ عَلى كُلِّ شَيْ ءٍ قَديرٌ
innaka a’laa kulle sahy-in qadeer,
“...surely You are Powerful over everything” (3:26);
وَ السَّلامُ وَ الصَّلاةُ عَلَيْهِ وَ عَلى الِهِ الطَّيِّبينَ
was salaamo was salaato a’layhe wa a’laa aalehit tayyebeenal
salutations and blessings on him and his family, the good,
الْاَخْيارِ وَ رَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَ بَرَكاتُهُ
akhyaare wa rahmatul laahe wa barakaatoh.
the excellent and the mercy and blessings of Allah.
اَللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ الْمَوْتِ وَ الْحَياةِ
allaahumma rabbal mawte wal hayaate
O Allah, Lord of death and life,
وَ رَبَّ السَّماواتِ وَ الْاَرْضِ وَ رَبَّ الْعالَمينَ
wa rabbas samawate wal arze wa rabbal a’alameena,
Lord of the heavens and the earth, Lord of all Being,
وَ رَبَّنا وَ رَبَّ ابائِنَا الْاَوَّلينَ
wa rabbanaa wa rabba aabaa-enal awwaleena,
our Lord and the Lord of our fathers, the ancients.
اَنْتَ الْاَحَدُ الصَّمَدُ لَمْ تَلِدْ وَ لَمْ تُولَدْ
antal ahadus samado lam talid wa lam toolad,
You are the One, “the Independent” (112:2), You did not beget nor were you begotten
وَ لَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ كُفُواً اَحَدٌ
wa lam yakun lahu kofowan ahad,
and “there is no one like Him” (112:4).
مَلَكْتَ الْمُلُوكَ بِقُدْرَتِكَ
malaktal molooka bequdrateka,
You have authority over the kings through Your Power
وَ اسْتَعْبَدْتَ الْاَرْبابَ بِعِزَّتِكَ
was ta’badtal arbaaba bei’zzateka,
You have enslaved lords through Your Invincibility,
وَ سُدْتَ الْعُظَماءَ بِجُودِكَ
wa sudtal o’zamaa-a be-joodeka,
held dominion over the mighty by Your Liberality,
وَ بَدَّدْتَ الْاَشْرافَ بِتَجَبُّرِكَ
wa baddadtal ashraafa betajabboreka,
scattered the nobility by Your Might,
وَ هَدَّدْتَ الْجِبالَ بِعَظَمَتِكَ
wa haddadtal jebaala bea’zamateka,
demolished the mountains by Your Majesty,
وَ اصْطَفَيْتَ الْفَخْرَ وَ الْكِبْرِياءَ لِنَفْسِكَ
was tafaytal fakhra wal kibreyaa-a lenafseka,
Chosen Pride and Grandeur for Yourself;
وَ اَقامَ الْحَمْدُ وَ الثَّناءُ عِنْدَكَ
wa aqaamal hamdo was sanaa-o i’ndaka,
Praise and eulogy are established in Your presence
وَ جَلَّ الْمَجْدُ وَ الْكَرَمُ بِكَ
wa mahallul majdo wal karamo beka.
and the station of Glory and Honour are for You,
فَلايَبْلُغُ شَيْ ءٌ مَبْلَغَكَ
falaa yablogho shayun mablaghaka,
Nothing reaches Your utmost degree
وَ لا يَقْدِرُ اَحَدٌ قُدْرَتَكَ
wa laa yaqdero ahadun qudrataka,
and none is able to attain Your Power.
اَنْتَ جارُ الْمُسْتَجيرينَ وَ لَجَأُ اللاَّجينَ
anta jaarul mustajeereena wa lajaa-ul laajeena,
You are the Protector of those who seek protection, the Refuge of those who seek refuge,
وَ مُعْتَمَدُ الْمُؤمِنينَ
wa mo’tamadul moameneena,
the Support of the believers,
وَ سَبيلُ حاجَةِ الطَّالِبينَ
wa sabeelo haajatit taalebeena.
the Path for the need of the seekers.
اَللَّهُمَّ اِنّي اَسْأَلُكَ اَنْ تَصْرِفَ عَنّي فِتْنَةَ الشَّهَواتِ
allaahumma innee asaloka an tasrefa a’nnee fitnatash shahawaate,
O Allah, I ask You to turn away from me the temptation of desires.
وَ اَسْأَلُكَ اَنْ تَرْحَمَني
wa asaloka an tarhamanee,
And I ask You to have mercy on me
وَ تُثَبِّتَني عِنْدَ كُلِّ فِتْنَةٍ مُضِلَّةٍ
wa tosabbetanee i’nda kulle fitnatin mozillatin,
and make me firm before every misleading temptation.
اَنْتَ مَوْضِعُ شَكْواىَ وَ مَسْأَلَتي
anta mawze-o’ shakwaaya wa mas-alatee,
You are the depository of my complaints and my request.
لَيْسَ مِثْلَكَ اَحَدٌ وَ لا يَقْدِرُ قُدْرَتَكَ اَحَدٌ
laysa mislaka ahadun, wa laa yaqdero qudrataka ahadun,
There is none like You and none attains to Your Power,
أَنْتَ اَكْبَرُ وَ اَجَلُّ وَ اَكْرَمُ
anta akbaro wa ajallo wa akramo
You are Greater, more Sublime, More Generous,
وَ اَعَزُّ وَ اَعْلى وَ اَعْظَمُ وَ اَشْرَفُ
wa a-a’zzo, wa a-a’laa wa a-a’zamo wa ashrafo,
Mightier, More Exalted, More Majestic, Nobler,
وَ أَمْجَدُ وَ اَكْرَمُ مِنْ اَنْ يَقْدِرَ الْخَلائِقُ كُلُّهُمْ عَلى صِفَتِكَ
wa amjado wa akramo min an yaqderal khalaaeqo kullohum a’laa sefaateka,
More Glorious and More Generous than all creation are able to attain than all of creation are able to describe.
اَنْتَ كَما وَصَفْتَ نَفْسَكَ يا مالِكَ يَوْمِ الدّينِ
anta kamaa wasafta nafsaka, yaa maaleka yamid deen.
You are as You have described Yourself, O “Master of the Day of Judgement” (1:4)
اَللَّهُمَّ اِنّي اَسْأَلُكَ بِكُلِّ اسْمٍ
allaahumma innee asaloka bekullis min
O Allah, I ask You by every Name
هُوَ لَكَ تُحِبُّ اَنْ تُدْعى بِهِ
howa laka tohibbo an tud-a’a behi,
belonging to You by which You like to be called,
وَ بِكُلِّ دَعْوَةٍ دَعاكَ بِها أَحَدٌ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ مِنَ الْاَوَّلينَ وَ الْاخِرينَ فَاسْتَجَبْتَ لَهُ بِها
wa bekulle da’watin daa’aka behaa ahadun min khalqeka menal awwaleena wal aakhereena fasof tajabta lahu behaa
and by every call with which anyone among the earlier and later of Your creatures have Called on You and You have answered them through it,
اَنْ تَغْفِرَ لي ذُنُوبي كُلَّها قَديمَها وَ حَديثَها
an taghfera lee zonoobee kullahaa, qadeemahaa wa hadeesahaa,
to forgive me all my sins, the past and the recent,
صَغيرَها وَ كَبيرَها سِرَّها وَ عَلانِيَتَها
sagheerahaa wa kabeerahaa, sirrahaa wa a’laaneyatahaa,
the small and the big, the secret and the open,
ما عَلِمْتُ مِنْها وَ ما لَمْ اَعْلَمْ
maa a’limto minhaa wa maa lam a-a’lam,
that which I know of and that of which I have no knowledge,
وَ ما اَحْصَيْتَهُ عَلَىَّ مِنْها اَنْتَ وَ حَفِظْتَهُ
wa maa ahsaytahu a’layya minhaa wa anta hafiztahu
and those of which You have counted against me and remembered,
وَ نَسيتُهُ اَنَا مِنْ نَفْسي
wa naseetohu anaa min nafsee.
and I myself have forgotten.
اَللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْلي وَ ارْحَمْني وَ تُبْ عَلَىَّ
allaahummagh fir lee war hamnee, wa tub a’layya,
. O Allah, forgive me and have mercy on me, and return to me (in forgiveness),
اِنَّكَ اَنْتَ التَّوَّابُ الرَّحيمُ
innaka antat tawwaabur raheemo,
“..surely You are the Oft-turning, the All-Compassionate” (2:128),
yaa arhamar raahemeen.
O Most Merciful of the merciful.
