Supplication 137- Day 14 of the month from Al-Sahifa e Alaviya
بِسْمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحْمٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
bismillahi alrrahmani alrrahimi
In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.
اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ النَّبِيَّ الْاُمِّيِّ
allaahumma salle a’laa mohammadin nabiyyil ummiyye
O Allah, bless Muhammad, the unlettered Prophet
وَ عَلى الِ مُحَمَّدٍ كَما صَلَّيْتَ عَلى اِبْراهيمَ
wa a’laa aale mohammadin kamaa sallayta a’laa ibraaheema
and the family of Muhammad as You have blessed Ibrahim
وَ الِ اِبْراهيمَ اِنَّكَ حَميدٌ مَجيدٌ
wa aale ibraaheema, innaka hameedum majeed.
and the family of Ibrahim; surely You are “...Praiseworthy, All-glorious.” (11:73)
اَللَّهُمَّ اِنّي اَسْأَلُكَ عَلى اَثَرِ تَسْبيحِكَ
allaahumma innee asaloka a’laa asare tasbeeheka
O Allah, I ask You after Your glorification
وَ الصَّلاةِ عَلى نَبِيِّكَ
was salaate a’laa nabiyyeka
and (sending) blessings on Your Prophet,
اَنْ تَغْفِرَلي ذُنُوبي كُلَّهاقَديمَها وَ حَديثَها
an taghfera lee zonoobee kullahaa, qadeemahaa wa hadeesahaa,
to forgive me all my sins, all of them, the past and the recent,
كَبيرَها وَ صَغيرَها سِرَّها وَ عَلانِيَتَها
kabeerahaa wa sagheerahaa, sirrahaa wa a’laaneyatahaa
the great and the small, the secret and the open,
ما عَلِمْتُ مِنْها وَ ما لَمْ اَعْلَمْ
maa a’limto minhaa wa maa lam a-a’lam,
those which I know of and those of which I have no knowledge,
وَ ما اَحْصَيْتَ عَلَىَّ مِنْها وَ نَسيتُهُ اَنَا مِنْ نَفْسي
wa maa ahsayta a’layya minhaa wa naseetohu a’naa min nafsee,
and those which You have counted against me, and which I have myself forgotten.
يا اَللهُ يا اَللهُ يا اَللهُ
yaa allaaho yaa allaaho yaa allaaho,
O Allah, O Allah, O Allah,
يا رَحْمانُ يا رَحْمانُ يا رَحْمانُ
yaa rahmaano yaa rahmaano yaa rahmaano,
O Merciful, O Merciful, O Merciful,
يا رَحيمُ يا رَحَيمُ يا رَحيمُ
yaa raheemo yaa raheemo yaa raheemo,
O Compassionate, O Compassionate, O Compassionate.
لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اَنْتَ خَشَعَتْ لَكَ الْاَصْواتُ
laa elaaha illaa anta khasa-a’t lakal aswaato
There is no god but You. Voices are lowered to You,
وَ ضَلَّتْ فيكَ الْاَحْلامُ
wa zallat feekal ahlaamo
intellects are confounded about You,
وَ تَحَيَّرَتْ دوُنَكَ الْاَبْصارُ
wa tahayyarat doonakal absaaro,
sights are dazzled before You,
وَ اَفْضَتْ اِلَيْكَ الْقُلُوبُ
wa af-zat elayakal qoloobo,
and hearts reach out to You.
لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اَنْتَ كُلُّ شَيْ ءٍ خاشِعٌ لَكَ
laa elaaha illaa anta, kullo shay-in khaasheu’n laka,
There is no god but You, Everything is submissive to You,
وَ كُلُّ شَيْ ءٍ مُمْتَنِعٌ بِكَ
wa kullo shay-in mumtane-u’n beka,
Everything is protected by You,
وَ كُلُّ شَيْ ءٍ ضارِعٌ اِلَيْكَ
wa kullo shay-in zaare-u’n elayka,
And every thing is humbled to You.
لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اَنْتَ اَلْخَلْقُ كُلُّهُمْ في قَبْضَتِكَ
laa elaaha illaa antal khalqo kullohum fee qabzateka,
There is no god but You, All of creation is in Your Grasp
وَ النَّواصي كُلُّها بِيَدِكَ
wan nawaasee kullohaa beyadeka
all forelocks are in your Hand,
وَ كُلُّ مَنْ اَشْرَكَ بِكَ عَبْدٌ داخِرٌ لَكَ
wa kullo man ashraka beka a’bdun daakherun laka,
Every one who associates equals with You is Your abject slave.
اَنْتَ الرَّبُّ الَّذي لا نِدَّ لَكَ
antar rabbul lazee laa nidda laka,
You are the Lord Who has no equal,
وَ الدَّائِمُ الَّذي لا نَفادَ لَكَ
wad daa-emul lazee laa nafaada laka,
The Everlasting Who does not cease,
وَ الْقَيُّومُ الَّذي لا زَوالَ لَكَ
wal qayyoomul lazee laa zawaala laka,
The Eternal Who has no end,
وَ الْمَلِكُ الَّذي لا شَريكَ لَكَ
wal malekul lazee laa shareeka laka,
The King Who has no partner,
alhayyul mohyeel mawtal
The Living, “...the Quickener of the dead...” (30:50)
الْمَوْتى الْقائِمُ عَلى كُلِّ نَفْسٍ بِما كَسَبَتْ
qaa-emo a’laa kulle nafsin bemaa kasabat,
“...who stands over every soul for what it has earned...” (13:33)
لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اَنْتَ الْاَوَّلُ قَبْلَ خَلْقِكَ
laa elaaha illaa antal awwalo qabla khalqeka,
There is no god but You: The First before Your creation,
وَ الْاخِرُ بَعْدَهُمْ وَ الظَّاهِرُ فَوْقَهُمْ
wal aakhero ba’dahum waz zaahero fawqahum,
The Last after them, The Prevailer above them,
وَ الْقاهِرُ لَهُمْ وَ الْقادِرُ مِنْ وَرائِهِمْ
wal qaahero lahum, wal qaadero min waraa-ehim,
Their Subduer, The Powerful behind them,
وَ الْقَريبُ مِنْهُمْ وَ مالِكُهُمْ وَ خالِقُهُمْ
wal qareebo minhum, wa maalekohum wa khaaleqohum
The One Near to them, Their Sovereign, their Creator
وَ قابِضُ اَرْواحِهِمْ وَ رازِقُهُمْ
wa qabezo arwahehim wa razeqohum
the Taker of their souls, Their Sustainer,
وَ مُنْتَهى رَغْبَتِهِمْ وَ مَوْلاهُمْ
wa muntahaa raghbatehim wa mawlaahum
the Object of their desires, Their Master,
wa maw-zeo’ shakwaahum,
the Depository of their complaints,
وَ الدَّافِعُ عَنْهُمْ وَ الشّافِعُ لَهُمْ
wad daa-fe-o’ a’nhum wash shaafe-o’ lahum,
Their Defender and their Intercessor
لَيْسَ اَحَدٌ فَوْقَكَ يَحُولُ دُونَهُمْ
laysa ahadun fawqaka yahoolo doonahum,
There is no one above You that intervenes in their way
وَ في قَبْضَتِكَ مُنْقَلَبُهُمْ
wa fee qabzateka munqalabohum
and in Your Grasp is their return
وَ مَثْواهُمْ اِيَّاكَ نُؤَمِّلُ
wa maswaahum, iyyaaka no-ammelo,
and their abode You do we hope from
وَ فَضْلَكَ نَرْجُوا وَ لا حَوْلَ وَ لا قُوَّةَ اِلاَّ بِكَ
wa fazlaka narjoo, wa laa hawla wa laa quwwata illaa beka,
and Your Bounty do we aspire to, There is no power nor might but with You;
لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اَنْتَ قُوَّةُ كُلِّ ضَعيفٍ
laa elaaha illaa anta quwwato kulle za-e’efin,
There is no God but You, strength of every weak one,
وَ مَفْزَعُ كُلِّ مَلْهُوفٍ وَ اَمْنُ كُلِّ خائِفٍ
wa mafza-o’ kulle malhoofin, wa amno kulle khaa-efin,
Refuge of every grieved one, Safeguard of every fearful one,
وَ مَوْضِعُ كُلِّ شَكْوى وَ كاشِفُ كُلِّ بَلْوى
wa maw-ze-o’ kulle shakwaa, wa kaashefo kulle balwaa,
Depository of every complaint, Dispeller of every affliction.
لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اَنْتَ حِصْنُ كُلِّ هارِبٍ
laa elaaha illaa anta hisno kulle haarebin,
There is no god buy You, Fortress of every fleeing one,
وَ عِزُّ كُلِّ ذَليلٍ وَ مادَّةُ كُلِّ مَظْلُومٍ
wa i’zzo kulle zaleelin, wa maaddato kulle mazloomin,
Might of every humbled one, Aid of every oppressed one,
وَ لا حَوْلَ وَ لا قُوَّةَ اِلاَّ بِكَ
wa laa hawla wa laa quwwata illaa beka.
There is no power nor might but with You.
لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اَنْتَ وَلِيُّ كُلِّ نِعْمَةٍ
laa elaaha illaa anta waliyyo kulle ne’matin,
There is no god but You, Master of every blessing,
وَ صاحِبُ كُلِّ حَسَنَةٍ وَ دافِعُ كُلِّ سَيِّئَةٍ
wa saahebo kulle hasanatin, wa daa-fe-o’ kulle sayyeatin
Possessor of every good thing, Repeller of every evil,
وَ مُنْتَهى كُلِّ رَغْبَةٍ وَ قاضي كُلِّ حاجَةٍ
wa muntahaa kulle raghbatin, wa qaazee kulle haajatin,
Object of every desire, Fulfiller of every need,
وَ لا حَوْلَ وَ لا قُوَّةَ اِلاَّ بِكَ
wa laa hawl a wa laa quwwata illaa beka,
There is no power nor might but with You.
لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اَنْتَ الرَّحيمُ بِخَلْقِهِ
laa elaaha illaa antar raheemo be-khalqehil
There is no god but You, All-merciful to His creatures,
اللَّطيفُ بِعِبادِهِ عَلى غِناهُ عَنْهُمْ وَ فَقْرِهِمْ اِلَيْهِ
lateefo be-e’baadehi, a’laa ghenaa-ho a’nhum wa faqrehim elayhe.
All-gentle to his servants, Despite His freedom from want of them and their need of Him.
لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اَنْتَ الْمُطَّلِعُ عَلى كُلِّ خَفِيَّةٍ
laa elaaha illaa antal mottale-o’ a’laa kulle khafiyyatin,
There is no god but You, Aware of every hidden thing,
وَ الْحاضِرُ لِكُلِّ سَريرَةٍ وَ اللَّطيفُ لِما يَشاءُ
wal haazero le-kulle sareeratin, wal lateefo lemaa yashaao,
Witnesser of every secret, “...All-gentle to what He will...” (12:100)
وَ الْفَعَّالُ لِما يُريدُ
wal fa’-a’alo lemaa yoreedo,
“...Doer of whatsoever He wills” (11:107)
يا حَيُّ لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اَنْتَ
yaa hayyo laa elaaha illaa anta,
O Living, there is no god but You,
وَ لا حَوْلَ وَ لا قُوَّةَ اِلاَّ بِكَ
wa laa hawla wa laa quwwata illaa beka.
There is no power nor might but with You.
اَللَّهُمَّ اَنْتَ اللهُ لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اَنْتَ
allaahumma antal laaho laa elaaha illaa anta,
O Allah, You are Allah, there is not god but You,
عالِمُ الْغَيْبِ وَ الشَّهادَةِ
a’alemul ghaybe wash shahaadatir
“...Knower of the unseen and the seen...” (59:22),
rahmaanur raheeemo,
“...The Merciful, the Compassionate.” (59:22)
فاطِرُ السَّماواتِ وَ الْاَرْضِ
faaterus samaawaate wal arze,
“...Originator of the heavens and the earth...” (6:14)
ذُوالْجَلالِ وَ الْاِكْرامِ
zul jalaale wal ikraame,
“...Possessor of Majesty and Honour” (55:78)
اَنْتَ غافِرُ الذَّنْبِ وَ قابِلُ التَّوْبِ شَديدُ الْعِقابِ ذُوالطَّولِ
anta ghaaferuz zanbe, wa qaabelut tawbe, shadeedul e’qaabe, zut tawlee.
You are the “Forgiver of Sins, the Acceptor of repentance, Severe in chastisement, the Bountiful...” (40:3),
لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اَنْتَ وَ اِلَيْكَ الْمَصيرُ
laa elaaha illaa anta wa elaykal maseer.
There is no god but You, and to You is the destination (Ref. 40:3)
اَللَّهُمَّ وَ اَسْأَلُكَ بِلا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اَنْتَ
allaahumma wa as-aloka belaa elaaha illaa anta
O Allah, I ask You by ‘there is no god but You,
اَنْ تُصَلِّىَ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ الِهِ
an tosalleya a’laa mohammadin wa aalehi
to bless Muhammad and his family
وَ اَنْ تُعْطِيَني جَميعَ سُؤلي وَ رَغْبَتي وَ اُمْنِيَّتي وَ اِرادَتي
wa an to’teyanee jamee-a’ soalee wa raghbatee wa umniyyatee wa eraadatee,
And to grant me all my requests, wishes, desires and intentions,
فَاِنَّ ذلِكَ عَلَيْكَ يَسيرٌ
fa-inna zaaleka a’layka yaseerun,
for that is easy for You
وَ اَنْتَ عَلى كُلِّ شَيْ ءٍ قَديرٌ
wa anta a’laa kulle shay-in qadeer,
and “...You are powerful over everything.” (3:26)
وَ اِنَّما اَمْرُكَ اِذا اَرَدْتَ شَيْئاً
wa innamaa amroka ezaa aradta shay-an
And Your command, when You desire a thing,
اَنْ تَقُولَ لَهُ كُنْ فَيَكُونُ
an taqoola lahu kun fa-yakoon.
is only to say to it ‘Be’, and it is (Ref. 36:82)
