Supplication 135- Day 12 of the month from Al-Sahifa e Alaviya

بِسْمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحْمٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
bismillahi alrrahmani alrrahimi
In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.

سُبْحانَ الَّذي فِي السَّماءِ عَرْشُهُ
subhaanal lazee fis samaa-e a’rshou,
Glory be to Him whose Throne is in the heaven,

سُبْحانَ الَّذي فِي الْاَرْضِ بَطْشُهُ
subhaanal lazee fil arze batsho-hu,
Glory be to Him whose Might is on the earth,

سُبْحانَ الَّذي فِي الْبَرِّ وَ الْبَحْرِ سَبيلُهُ
subhaanal lazee fil barre wal bahre sabeelohu,
Glory be to Him whose path is on land and sea,

سُبْحانَ الَّذي فِي السَّماءِ عَظَمَتُهُ
subhaanal lazee fis samaa-e a’zamatohu,
Glory be to Him whose Majesty is in the heaven,

سُبْحانَ الَّذي فِي الْاَرْضِ اياتُهُ
subhaanal lazee fil arze aayaatohu,
Glory be to Him whose signs are on the earth,

سُبْحانَ الَّذي فِي الْقُبُورِ قَضاؤُهُ
subhaanal lazee fil qoboore qazaa-ohu,
Glory be to Him whose decree is in the graves,

سُبْحانَ الَّذي فِي النَّارِ نَقِمَتُهُ وَ عَذابُهُ
subhaanal lazee fin naare naqematohu wa a’zaabohu,
Glory be to Him whose vengeance and punishment is in the Fire,

سُبْحانَ الَّذي فِي الْجَنَّةِ رَحْمَتُهُ وَ ثَوابُهُ
subhaanal lazee fil jannate rahmatohu wa sawaabohu,
Glory be to Him whose Mercy and reward is in the Garden,

سُبْحانَ الَّذي لا يَفُوتُهُ هارِبٌ
subhaanal lazee laa yafootohu haarebun,
Glory be to Him from whom no fleeing one escapes,

سُبْحانَ الَّذي لا مَلْجَأَ مِنْهُ اِلاَّ اِلَيْهِ
subhaanal lazee laa malja-a minho illaa elayhe,
Glory be to Him from whom there is no refuge except in Him,

سُبْحانَ الْحَىِّ الَّذي لايَمُوتُ
subhaanal hayyil lazee laa yamooto,
Glory be to the “...ever-Living who does not die...” (25:58)

سُبْحانَ اللهِ حينَ تُمْسُونَ وَ حينَ تُصْبِحُونَ
subhaanal laahe heena tumsoona wa heena tusbehoon
“Glory be to Allah both in your evening hour and in your morning hour." (30:17)

وَ لَهُ الْحَمْدُ فِي السَّماواتِ وَ الْاَرْضِ وَ عَشِيّاً وَ حينَ تُظْهِرُونَ
wa lahul hamdo fis samaawaate wal arze wa a’shiyyanw wa heena tuzheroon.
"His is the praise in the heavens and earth – at the setting sun and in your noontide hour." (30:18)

يُخْرِجُ الْحَىَّ مِنَ الْمَيِّتِ وَ يُخْرِجُ الْمَيِّتَ مِنَ الْحَىِّ وَ يُحْيِي الْاَرْضَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِها وَ كَذلِكَ تُخْرَجُونَ
yukhrejul hayya menal mayyete wa yukhrejul mayyeta menal hayye wa yohyil arza ba’da mawtehaa, wa kazaaleka tukhrajoon.
"He brings forth the living from the dead, and brings forth the dead from the living, and He revives the earth after it is dead; even so you shall be brought forth.” (30:19)

اَلْحَمْدُ لِلهِ الَّذي لَمْ يَتَّخِذْ وَلَداً وَ لَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ شَريكٌ فِي الْمُلْكِ وَ لَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ وَلِيٌّ مِنَ الذُّلِّ وَ كَبِّرْهُ تَكْبيراً
al-hamdo lillaahil lazee lam yattakhiz waladanw wa lam yakul lahu shareekun fil mulke wa lam yakul lahu waliyyum menaz zulle wa kabbirho takbeeraa.
“Praise belongs to Allah who has not taken to Himself a son, and who has not any partner in the kingdom, nor any helper out of humility. And proclaim His greatness by extolling (His glory).” (17:111)

سُبْحانَهُ عَدَدَ كُلِّ شَيْ ءٍ وَ زِنَةَ كُلِّ شَى ءٍ
subhaanahu a’dada kulle wa zenata kulle shayin
Glory be to Him equal to the number of everything

اَضْعافاً مُضاعَفَةً سَرْمَداً اَبَداً
az-a’afan mozaaa’fatan sarmadan abadan
multiplied many-fold, eternally, endlessly

كَما يَنْبَغي لِعَظَمَتِهِ وَ مَنِّهِ
kamaa yanbaghi lea’zamatehi wa mannehi,
as befits His Majesty and Grace.

سُبْحانَكَ لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اَنْتَ وَ بِحَمْدِكَ
subhaanaka laa elaaha illaa anta wa be-hamdeka,
Glory be to You, there is no god but You, and Praise be to You;

سُبْحانَ اللهِ الْعَظيمِ وَ بِحَمْدِهِ
subhaanal laahil a’zeeme wa be-hamdehi,
Glory be to Allah, the Majestic, and Praise belongs to Him;

سُبْحانَ اللهِ الْحَليمِ الْكَريمِ
subhaanal laahil haleemil kareeme,
Glory be to Allah, the Forbearing, the All-generous;

سُبْحانَ اللهِ الْعَلِىِّ الْعَظيمِ
subhaanal laahil a’liyyil a’zeeme,
Glory be to Allah, the High, the All-mighty;

سُبْحانَ مَنْ هُوَ الْحَقُّ
subhaana man howal haqqo,
Glory be to the One who is the Truth;

سُبْحانَ الْقابِضِ الْباسِطِ
subhaanal qaabezul baaseto,
Glory be to the Straitener, the Outspreader;

سُبْحانَ اللهِ الضَّارِّ النَّافِعِ
subhaanal laahiz zaarrin naafe-e’,
Glory be to Allah, the One who harms and benefits;

سُبْحانَ اللهِ الْعَظيمِ الْاَعْظَمِ
subhaanal laahil a’zeemil a-a’zame,
Glory be to Allah, the All-mighty, the Most Majestic;

سُبْحانَ الْقاضي بِالْحَقِّ
subhaanal qaazee bilhaqqe,
Glory be to Allah, who decrees the Truth;

سُبْحانَ الرَّفيعِ الْاَعْلى
subhaanar rafee-i’l a-a’laa,
Glory be to the Exalted, the Most High;

سُبْحانَ اللهِ الْعَظيمِ
subhaanal laahil a’zeemil
Glory be to Allah, the All-mighty,

اَلْاَوَّلِ الْاخِرِ الظَّاهِرِ الْباطِنِ
awwalil aakheriz zaaheril baatenil
“...the First and the Last, the Manifest and the Hidden...” (57:3)

الَّذي هُوَ عَلى كُلِّ شَيْ ءٍ قَديرٌ
lazee howa a’laa kulle shay-in qadeer,
who is “...powerful over everything” (57:2)

وَ بِكُلِّ شَيْ ءٍ عَليمٌ
wa be-kulle shay-in a’leem,
and “...has knowledge of everything” (57:3)

سُبْحانَ الَّذي هُوَ هكَذا وَ لا هكَذا غَيْرُهُ
subhaanal lazee howa haakazaa, wa laa haakazaa ghayrohu,
Glory be to Him Who is thus and there is no one thus except Him.

سُبْحانَ مَنْ هُوَ دائِمٌ لا يَسْهُو
subhaana man howa daa-emun laa yashoo,
Glory be to the One who is Eternal, and is not neglectful:

سُبْحانَ مَنْ هُوَ قائِمٌ لايَلْهُو
subhana man howa qaa-emun laa yalhoo,
Glory be to the One who manages (the affair), and is not diverted:

سُبْحانَ مَنْ هُوَ غَنِىٌّ لا يَفْتَقِرُ
subhaaman man howa ghaniyyun laa yaftaqero,
Glory be to the One who is Self-Sufficient, and is not needy;

سُبْحانَ مَنْ هُوَ جَوادٌ لا يَبْخَلُ
subhaana man howa jawaadun laa yabkhalo,
Glory be to the One who is Generous, and is not niggardly:

سُبْحانَ مَنْ هُوَ شَديدٌ لا يَضْعُفُ
subhaana man howa shadeedun laa yazo’fo,
Glory be to the One who is Powerful and does not weaken:

سُبْحانَ مَنْ هُوَ رَقيبٌ لا يَغْفُلُ
subhaana man howa raqeebun laa yaghfolo,
Glory be to the One who is a Watcher and is not heedless:

سُبْحانَ مَنْ هُوَ حَىٌّ لا يَمُوتُ
subhaana man howa hayyun laa yamooto,
Glory be to the One who is Living, Undying;

سُبْحانَ الدَّائِمِ الْقائِمِ
subhaanad daa-emil qaa-eme,
Glory be to the Eternal, the Existing;

سُبْحانَ الَّذي لايَزُولُ
subhaanal lazee laa yazoolo,
Glory be to Him who is Unceasing;

سُبْحانَ الْحَىِّ الْقَيُّومِ لا تَأْخُذُهُ سِنَةٌ وَ لا نَوْمٌ
subhaanal hayyil qayyoome, laa taakhozohu senatun wa laa nawmun,
Glory be to “...the Ever-living, the Self-subsisting. Slumber seizes Him not, neither sleep.” (2:255)

سُبْحانَكَ لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اَنْتَ وَحْدَكَ لا شَريكَ لَكَ
subhaanaka laa elaaha illlaa anta wahdaka laa shareeka laka,
Glory be to You, there is no god buy You alone, no partner have You.

سُبْحانَ مَنْ تُسَبِّحُ لَهُ الْجِبالُ الرَّواسي بِاَصْواتِها تَقُولُ
subhaana man tosabbeho lahul jebaalur rawaasee be-aswaatehaa, taqoolo :
Glory be to the One whom the firm mountains glorify with their voices saying.

سُبْحانَ رَبِّىَ الْعَظيمِ وَ بِحَمْدِهِ
subhaana rabbeyal a’zeeme wa be-hamdehi,
“Glory be to my Lord, the All-mighty, and praise belongs to Him.”

سُبْحانَ مَنْ يُسَبِّحُ لَهُ الْاَشْجارُ بِاَصْواتِها تَقُولُ
subhaana man tosabbeho lahul ashjaaro beaswaatehaa, taqoolo:
Glory be to the One whom the trees glorify with their voices saying,

سُبْحانَ اللهِ الْمَلِكِ الْحَقِّ الْمُبينِ
subhaanal laahil malekil haqqil mobeene,
Glory be to Allah, the King, “...the manifest Truth” (24:25)

سُبْحانَ مَنْ تُسَبِّحُ لَهُ السَّماواتِ السَّبْعُ
subhaana man tosabbeho lahus samaawaatus sab-o’
Glory be to the One whom the seven heavens

وَ الْاَرْضُ وَ مَنْ فيهِنَّ يَقُولُونُ
wal arzo wa man feehinna, yaqooloona :
and the earth and those in it glorify saying,

سُبْحانَ اللهِ الْعَظيمِ الْحَليمِ الْكَريمِ وَ بِحَمْدِهِ
subhaanal laahil a’zeemil haleemil kareeme wa behamdehi,
Glory be to Allah, the All-mighty, the Forbearing, the All-generous, and praise belongs to Him.

سُبْحانَ مَنِ اعْتَزَّ بِالْعَظَمَةِ
subhaana mane’ tazzaa bila’zamate,
Glory be to the One who is Invincible through Might,

وَ احْتَجَبَ بِالْقُدْرَةِ وَ امْتَنَّ بِالرَّحْمَةِ
wah tajaba be-qudrate, wam tanna bir-rahmate,
Concealed through Power, Gracious through Mercy,

وَ عَلا فِي الرِّفْعَةِ وَ دَنى فِي اللُّطْفِ
wa a’laa fir raf-a’te, wa danaa fil lutfe,
High in Exaltedness, Near through Subtlety;

وَ لَمْ تَخْفَ عَلَيْهِ خافِياتُ السَّرائِرِ
wa lam takhfa a’layhe khaafeyaatus saraaere
hidden secrets are not concealed from Him,

وَ لا يُوارى عَلَيْهِ لَيْلٌ داجٍ
wa laa yowaaree a’layhe laylun daajin,
nor are veiled from Him the dark night

وَ لا بَحْرٌ عَجَّاجٌ وَ لا حُجُبٌ وَ لا اَزْواجٌ
wa laa bahrun a’jjaajun, wa laa hojobun, wa laa azwajun
or the roaring seas or the barriers or the pairs.

اَحاطَ بِكُلِّ شَيْ ءٍ عِلْماً
ahaata bekulle shay-in i’lman,
He encompasses everything in Knowledge

وَ وَسِعَ الْمُذْنِبينَ رَحْمَةً وَ حِلْماً
wa wase-a’l muznebeena rahmatan wa hilman,
and surrounds the sinners in Mercy and Forbearance,

وَ اَبْدَعَ ما بَرَى ءَ اِتْقاناً وَ صُنْعاً
wa abda-a’ maa bare-a itqaanan wa suna’n,
and produces what He creates perfectly and skillfully.

نَطَقَتِ الْاَشْياءُ الْمُبْهَمَةُ عَنْ قُدْرَتِهِ
nataqatil ash-yaa-ul mubhamato a’n qudratehi,
Inarticulate things speak of His Power

وَ شَهِدَتْ مُبْدَعاتُهُ بِوَحْدانِيَّتِهِ
wa shahedat mubtade-a’tan be-wahdaaniyyateh.
and bear witness, after being created, to His Oneness.

اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰي مَحَمَّدٍ وَ الِهٖ
allaahumm salle a’laa mohammadin wa aalehi
O Allah, bless Muhammad and his family,

نَبِيِّ الرَّحْمَةِ وَ اَهْلِ بَيْتِهِ
nabiyyir rahmate wa ahle baytehil
the Prophet of mercy and the people of his house,

الْمَيَامِيْنَ الطَّاهِرَيْنَ وَ لاَ تَرُدُّنَا
mayaamenat taahereena, wa laa taruddanaa
the blessed, the pure; and do not turn us away disappointed,

ياۤ اِلٰهِيْ مِنْ رَحْمَتِكَ خَاۤ ئِبِيْنَ وَ لاَ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ
yaa elaahee min rahmateka khaaebeena, wa laa min fazleka
O my God, from Your Mercy, nor despairing of Your Bounty.

ا ئِسِيْنَ وَ اَعِذْنَا اَنْ تَرْ جِعَ بَعْدَ اِذْ هَدَيْتَنَا
aayeseena, wa a-i’znaa an narja-a’ ba’da iz hadaytanaa
Protect us lest we revert, after Your having guided us,

ضَاۤلِّيْنَ مُضَلِّيْنَ وَ اَجْرِنَا مِنَ الْحَيْرَةِ فِيْ الدِّيْنِ
zaalleena mozilleena, wa ajirnaa menal khayrate fid deene,
to going astray and deviating from the right way.

وَتَوَّ فَّنَا مُسْلِمِيْنَ وَ اَلْحِقنَا بِا لصَّا لِحِيْنَ
wa tawaffanaa muslemeena, wa alhiqnaa bissaaleheena
Protect us from confusion in religion and cause us to die as Muslims. And make us join with the righteous,

بِمُحَمَّدٍ وَّ الِهٖ الطَّيِّبِيْنَ الطَّا هِرِيْنَ
bemohammadin wa aalheit tayyeebeena,
with Muhammad and his family, the good;

امينَ رَبَّ الْعالَمينَ
aameena rabbal a’alameen.
Amen, Lord of the Worlds.
