Supplication 133- Day 10 of the month from Al-Sahifa e Alaviya
بِسْمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحْمٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
bismillahi alrrahmani alrrahimi
In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.
اَللَّهُمَّ كَمْ مِنْ شَيْ ءٍ غِبْتُ عَنْهُ فَشَهِدْتَهُ
elaahee kam min shayin ghibto a’nho fa-shahidtahu
O my God, how many a thing concealed from me have You witnessed
فَيَسَّرْتَ لي فيهِ الْمَنافِعَ وَ دَفَعْتَ فيهِ السُّوءَ
fayassarta lee feeil manaafe-a’ wa da-fa’ta a’nnee feehis soo-a,
and eased for me its benefits, turned away from me its evil,
وَ حَفِظْتَ عَنّي فيهِ الْغَيْبَةَ
wa hafizta a’nnee feehil ghaybata,
guarded me from being unmindful of it
وَ وَقَيْتَني فيهِ بِلا عِلْمٍ مِنّي
wa waqaytanee feehe belaa i’lmin minnee,
and protected me in it without my knowledge…
وَ لا حَوْلَ وَ لا قُوَّةَ اِلاَّ بِكَ
wa laa hawla wa laa quwwata illaa beka,
There is no power or might save with You,
فَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ عَلى ذلِكَ وَ الْمَنُّ وَ الطَّوْلُ
falakal hamdo a’laa zaaleka wal manno wat tawlo,
so to You belongs praise for that and Yours is the favour and the bounty.
اَللَّهُمَّ وَ كَمْ مِنْ شَيْ ءٍ غِبْتُ عَنْهُ فَتَوَلَّيْتَهُ
allaahumma wa kam min shay-in ghibto a’nho fatawallaytahu,
O Allah, and how many a thing concealed from me have You undertaken Yourself
وَ سَدَّدْتَ لي فيهِ الرَّأْيَ
wa saddadta lee feehir raa-ya
and directed me to the right opinion of it,
وَ اَعْطَيْتَني فيهِ الْقَبُولَ
wa aa’taytanee feehil qaboola
Granted me acceptance of it,
وَ اَنْجَحْتَ لي فيهِ الطَّلِبَةَ
wa an jahta lee feehit talebata,
accomplished for me the need,
وَ قَوَّيْتَ فيهِ الْعَزيمَةَ
wa qavvayta feehil azeemata
strengthened (my) determination concerning it…
وَ قَرَنْتَ فيهِ الْمَعُونَةَ
wa qaranta feehil mao’onata
And linked it with assistance (from You),
فَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ يا اِلهي كَثيراً
falakal hamdo yaa elaahee kaseeran
So to You belongs Praise, O my God, in abundance,
وَ لَكَ الشُّكْرُ يا رَبَّ الْعالَمينَ
wa lakash shukro yaa rabbal a’alameena.
and to You belongs gratitude, O Lord of the Worlds.
اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ النَّبِيِّ الْاُمِّيِّ
allaahumma salle a’laa mohammadin nabiyyil ummiyyir
O Allah, bless Muhammad – the Prophet, the unlettered,
الرَّضِيِّ الْمَرْضِيِّ الطَّيِّبِ التَّقِيِّ
raziyyil marziyyit tayyebit taqiyyil
the pleased, the well-pleasing, the good, the God-fearing,
الْمُبارَكِ النَّقِيِّ الطَّاهِرِ الزَّكِيِّ الْمُطَهَّرِ الْوَفِيِّ
mobaarakin naqiyyit taaheriz zakiyyil, motahharil wafiyye,
the blessed, the immaculate, the pure, the chaste, the purified, the faithful,
وَ عَلى الِ مُحَمَّدٍ الطَّيِّبينَ الْاَخْيارِ
wa a’laa aale mohammadenit tayyebeenal akhyaare,
and the family of Muhammad, the pure and good,
كَما صَلَّيْتَ عَلى اِبْراهيمَ وَ الِ اِبْراهيمَ
kamaa sallayta a’laa ibraaheema wa aale ibraaheema,
as You have blessed Ibrahim and the family of Ibrahim
innaka hameedum majeedun.
surely You are “...Praiseworthy, All-glorious” (11:73)
اَللَّهُمَّ اِنّي اَسْأَلُكَ عَلى اَثَرِ مَحامِدِكَ
allaahumma innee asaloka a’laa asare mahaamedeka,
O Allah, I ask You, after the forms of Your Praise
وَ الصَّلاةِ عَلى نَبِيِّكَ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ الِهِ
was salaate a’laa nabiyyeka mohammadin wa aalehi
and blessings on Your Prophet Muhammad and his family,
اَنْ تَغْفِرَلي ذُنُوبي كُلَّها قَديمَها وَ حَديثَها
an taghfera lee zonoobee kullahaa qadeemahaa wa hadeesahaa,
to forgive me all of my sins, the former and the recent,
صَغيرَها وَ كَبيرَها سِرَّها وَ عَلانِيَتَها
sagheerahaa wa kabeerahaa, sirrehaa wa a’laaneyatehaa,
the small and the big, the secret and the manifest,
ما عَلِمْتُ مِنْها وَ ما لَمْ اَعْلَمْ
maa a’limto minhaa wa maa lam a-a’lamo
those of which I have knowledge and those I do not,
وَ ما اَحْصَيْتَهُ عَلَىَّ وَ حَفِظْتَهُ
wa maa ahsaytahu a’layya wa hafiztahu
those which You have numbered against me and preserved
وَ نَسيتُهُ اَنَا مِنْ نَفْسي
wa naseetohu anaa min nafsee,
and which I myself have forgotten.
yaa allaaho yaa allaaho
O Allah, O Allah,
يا رَحْمانُ يا رَحْمانُ يا رَحيمُ يا رَحيمُ
yaa rahmaano yaa rahmaano yaa raheemo yaa raheem.
O Merciful, O Merciful, O Compassionate, O Compassionate,
سُبْحانَكَ اللَّهُمَّ وَ بِحَمْدِكَ لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اَنْتَ
subhaanaka allaahumma wa behamdeka laa elaaha illaa anta,
Glory be to You, O Allah, and Praise : There is no god but You,
اَسْتَغْفِرُكَ وَ اَتُوبُ اِلَيْكَ
astaghferoka wa atoobo elayka
I ask forgiveness of You and turn to You.
اَنْتَ اِلهي مَوْضِعُ كُلِّ شَكْوى
wa anta elaahee mawze-o’ kulle shakwaa,
You are the depository of all complaints
wa muntahal haajaate,
and the ultimate object of needs,
وَ اَنْتَ اَمَرْتَ خَلْقَكَ بِالدُّعاءِ
wa anta amarta khalqaka bid-do-a’a-e,
and You commanded Your creation to pray
وَ تَكَفَّلْتَ لَهُمْ بِالْاِجابَةِ
wa takaffalta lahum bil-ejaabate,
and guaranteed them a response.
innaka qareebum mojeeb.
Surely You are “...nigh and answer prayers” (11:61)
سُبْحانَكَ اللَّهُمَّ وَ بِحَمْدِكَ
subhaanaka allaahumma wa behamdeka
Glory be to You, O Allah, and Praise,
ما اَعْظَمَ اسْمَكَ في اَهْلِ السَّماءِ
maa a-a’zama ismaka fee ahlis samaa-e,
how Mighty is Your Name among the inhabitants of the heaven,
وَ اَحْمَدَ فِعْلَكَ في اَهْلِ الْاَرْضِ
wa ahmada fe’laka fee ahlil arze,
and how praised are Your actions among the inhabitants of the earth,
وَ اَفْشى خَيْرَكَ فِي الْبَرِّ وَ الْبَحْرِ
wa afshaa khayraka fil barre wal bahre.
and how widespread is Your goodness in land and sea,
سُبْحانَكَ اللَّهُمَّ وَ بِحَمْدِكَ
subhaanaka allaahumma wa behamdeka,
Glory be to You, O Allah, and Praise,
لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اَنْتَ اَسْتَغْفِرُكَ وَ اَتُوبُ اِلَيْكَ
laa elaaha illaa anta, astaghferoka wa toobo elayka
there is no god but You, I ask forgiveness of You and turn to You.
اَنْتَ الرَّؤُوفُ الرَّحيمُ وَ اِلَيْكَ الْمَرْغَبُ
antar ra-oofo, wa elaykal marghabo,
You are the All-gentle, to You is made the petition;
تُنَزِّلُ الْغَيْثَ وَ تُقَدِّرُ الْاَقْواتَ
tonazzelul ghaysa wa toqadderul aqwaata
You send down the rain and ordain the sustenance,
وَ اَنْتَ قاسِمُ الْمَعاشِ قاضِي الْاجالِ
wa anta qaasemlul maa’ashe, qaazil aajaale,
You are the Allotter of livelihood, Decreer of terms,
رازِقُ الْعِبادِ مُرَوِّي الْبِلادِ
raazequl e’baade, morawwil belaade
Sustainer of mankind, Irrigator of lands,
مُخْرِجِ الثَّمَراتِ عَظيمِ الْبَرَكاتِ
mukhrejus samaraate a’zeemul barakaate.
Producer of fruits, Mighty of blessings;
سُبْحانَكَ اللَّهُمَّ وَ بِحَمْدِكَ لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اَنْتَ
subhaanaka allaahumma wa behamdeka, laa elaaha illaa anta,
Glory be to You, O Allah, and Praise; there is no god but You,
اَسْتَغْفِرُكَ وَ اَتُوبُ اِلَيْكَ
astaghferoka wa atoobo elayka,
I ask forgiveness of You and turn to You.
اَنْتَ الْمُغيثُ وَ اِلَيْكَ الْمَرْغَبُ مُنَزِّلُ الْغَيْثِ
antal mogheeso wa elaykal mar-ghobo monazelal ghayse
You are the Succour and to You is made the petition : The One Who causes the rain to fall,
يُسَبِّحُ الرَّعْدُ بِحَمْدِكَ وَ الْمَلائِكَةُ مِنْ خيفَتِكَ
yosabbehur ra’do be-hamdeka, wal malaa-ekato min kheefateka,
The thunder proclaims Your praise, and the angels, in awe of You (Ref. 13:13)
وَ الْعَرْشُ الْاَعْلى وَ الْعَمُودُ الْاَسْفَلُ
wal a’rshul a-a’laa wal a’moodul asfalo
and the highest Throne and the lowest mountain
وَ الْهَواءُ وَ ما بَيْنَهُما وَ ما تَحْتَ الثَّرى
wal hawaa-o wa maa baynahomaa wa maa tahtas saraa,
and the air and what is between them and what is under the soil,
وَ الشَّمْسُ وَ الْقَمَرُ وَ النُّجُومُ وَ الضِّياءُ
wash shamso wal qamaro wan nojoomo, waz zeyaa-o
the sun, the moon, the stars, the rays of light,
وَ الظُّلْمَةُ وَ النُّورُ وَ الْفَىْ ءُ وَ الظِّلُّ وَ الْحَرُورُ.
waz zulmato wan nooro, wal fay-o waz zilla wal harooro,
the darkness, the light, the shade, the shadow and the heat.
سُبْحانَكَ اَنْتَ تُسَيِّرُ الْجِبالَ وَ تُهِبُّ الرِّياحَ
subhaanaka anta tosayyerul jebaala, wa tohibbur reyaaha.
Glory be to You, You make the mountains move and cause the winds to blow,
سُبْحانَكَ اللَّهُمَّ وَ بِحَمْدِكَ لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اَنْتَ
subhaanaka allaahumma wa behamdeka, laa elaaha illaa anta,
Glory be to You, O Allah, and Praise, there is no god but You,
اَسْتَغْفِرُكَ وَ اَتُوبُ اِلَيْكَ
astaghferoka wa atoobo elayka
I ask forgiveness of You and turn to You.
سُبْحانَكَ اَسْأَلُكَ بِاسْمِكَ الْمَرْهُوبِ
subhaana as-aloka beismekal marhoobe
Glory be to You, I ask You by Your feared Name,
حامِلِ عَرْشِكَ وَ مَنْ في سَماواتِكَ وَ اَرْضِكَ
haamele a’rsheka, wa man fee samaawaateka wa arzeka,
the bearer of Your Throne and those in Your heavens and Your earth,
وَ مَنْ فِي الْبُحُورِ وَ الْهَواءِ وَ مَنْ فِي الظُّلْمَةِ
wa man fil bohoore wal hawaa-e, wa man fiz zulmate,
those in the seas and the air, those in the darkness,
وَ مَنْ في لُجَجِ الْبُحُورِ وَ مَنْ تَحْتَ الثَّرى
wa man fee lojajil bohoore, wa man tahtas saraa,
those in the depths of the seas, those under the soil
وَ مَنْ ما بَيْنَ الْخافِقَيْنِ
wa maa baynal khaafeqeene,
and those in between the east and the west.
subhaanaka maa aa’zamaka
Glory be to You, how Mighty are You:
سُبْحانَكَ اللَّهُمَّ وَ بِحَمْدِكَ لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اَنْتَ
subhaanaka allaahumma wa behamdeka, laa elaaha illaa anta,
Glory be to You, O Allah, and Praise, there is no god but You:
اَسْتَغْفِرُكَ وَ اَتُوبُ اِلَيْكَ
astaghferoka wa toobo elayka
I ask forgiveness of You and turn to You.
سُبْحانَكَ لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اَنْتَ اَسْأَلُكَ اِجابَةَ الدُّعاءِ
subhaanaka laa elaaha illaa anta asaloka ejaabatad doa’a-e,
Glory be to You, there is no god but You: I ask You to grant the supplication
وَ الشُّكْرَ فِي الشِّدَّةِ وَ الرَّخاءِ
wash shukre fish shiddate war rakhaae,
and gratitude in hardship and ease:
سُبْحانَكَ اللَّهُمَّ وَ بِحَمْدِكَ لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اَنْتَ
subhaanaka allaahumma wa behamdeka, laa elaaha illaa anta,
Glory be to You, O Allah, and Praise; there is no god but You,
نَظَرْتَ اِلَى السَّماواتِ الْعُلى فَاَوْثَقْتَ اَطْباقَها
nazarta elas samaawaatil o’laa faawsaqta atbaaqahaa,
You looked at the highest heavens and made firm its layers:
سُبْحانَكَ وَ نَظَرْتَ اِلى عِمادِ الْاَرَضينَ السُّفْلى
subhaanaka wa nazarta elaa e’maadil arazeenas suflaa
Glory be to You, You looked at the mountains of the lowest earths
fazalzalta aqtaarahaa,
and caused its regions to tremble;
سُبْحانَكَ وَ نَظَرْتَ اِلى ما فِي الْبُحُورِ
subhaanaka wa nazarta elaa maa fil bohoore
Glory be to You, and You looked at what is in the seas
وَ لُجَجِها فَتَمَحَّضَ ما فيها
wa jojajehaa fatamahhaza maa feehaa
and its depths and what was in it became clear,
سُبْحانَكَ فَرَقاً مِنْكَ وَ هَيْبَةً لَكَ
subhaanaka faraqan minka wa haybatan laka,
Glory be to You, in fear of You and in awe of You.
سُبْحانَكَ وَ نَظَرْتَ اِلى ما اَحاطَ بِالْخافِقَيْنِ
subhaanaka wa nazarta elaa maa ahaata bilin khaafeqayne,
Glory be to You, You looked at what encompassed the east and the west
وَ ما بَيْنَ ذلِكَ مِنَ الْهَواءِ
wa maa bayna zaaleka menal hawaa-e
and the atmosphere in between that,
fakhaza-a’ laka khaashe-a’n,
And it became submissive to You, abasing itself,
وَ لِجَلالِ وَجْهِكَ الْكَريمِ
wa le-jalaale wajhekal kareeme
And humbled to the Majesty of Your Noble Countenance,
اَكْرَمِ الْوُجُوهِ خاضِعاً
akramil wojoohe khaaze-a’n,
the Most Noble of countenances.
سُبْحانَكَ مَنْ ذَا الَّذي اَعانَكَ حينَ سَمَكْتَ السَّماواتِ
subhaanaka man zal lazee a-a’anaka heena samaktas samaawaate,
Glory be to You, who was it that aided You when You raised the heavens
وَ اسْتَوَيْتَ عَلى عَرْشِ عَظَمَتِكَ
was tawayta a’laa a’rshe a’zamateka,
and settled firmly in the Throne of Your Might ?
سُبْحانَكَ مَنْ ذَا الَّذي حَضَرَكَ حينَ بَسَطْتَ الْاَرْضَ فَمَدَدْتَها
subhaanak man zal lazee hazaraka heena basat-tal arza famadadtahaa,
Glory be to You, who was it that was present with You when You spread the earth and stretched it,
ثُمَّ دَحَوْتَها فَجَعَلْتَها فِراشاً
summa dahawtahaa fa-jaa’ltahaa feraashan
then extended it and made it as a carpet ?
فَمَنْ ذَاالَّذي يَقْدِرُ عَلى قُدْرَتِكَ
faman zal lazee yaqdera a’laa qudrateka
Then who is it that can prevail over Your Power ?
سُبْحانَكَ مَنْ ذَاالَّذي رَاكَ حينَ نَصَبْتَ الْجِبالَ
subhaanaka man zal lazee ra-aaka heena nasabtal jebaala
Glory be to You, who was it that saw You when You set up the mountains,
فَاَثْبَتَّ اَساسَها بِاَهْلِها رَحْمَةً مِنْكَ لِخَلْقِكَ
faasbatta asaasahaa beahlehaa rahmatan minka le-khalqeka,
then made firm its foundations with its inhabitants, as a mercy from You to Your creation?
سُبْحانَكَ مَنْ ذَاالَّذي اَعانَكَ حينَ فَجَّرْتَ الْبُحُورَ وَ اَحَطْتَ بِهَاالْاَرْضَ
subhaanaka man zal lazee a-a’anaka heena fajjartal bohoora wa a-hat-ta behal arza,
Glory be to You, who was it that aided You when You made the seas burst forth and encompass the earth with it ?
سُبْحانَكَ لا اِله اِلاَّ اَنْتَ وَ بِحَمْدِكَ
subhaanaka laa elaahaa illaa anta wa be-hamdeka,
Glory be to You, there is no god but You, and Praise be to You,
مَنْ ذَا الَّذي يُضادُّكَ وَ يُغالِبُكَ اَوْ يَمْتَنِعُ مِنْكَ اَوْ يَنْجُو مِنْ قَدَرِكَ
man zal lazee yozaaddoka wa yoghaaleboka, aw yamtane-o’ minka, aw yanjoo min qadareka,
Who is it that opposes You and overpowers You or protects himself from You or escapes from You Power ?
سُبْحانَكَ اللَّهُمَّ لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اَنْتَ
subhaanaka allaahumma laa elaaha illaa anta
Glory be to You, O Allah, there is no god but You,
فَالْعُيُونُ تَبْكي لِغَفْلَةِ الْقُلُوبِ اِذا ذُكِرْتَ مِنْ مَخافَتِكَ
fal o’yoono tabkee leghaflatil qoloobe ezaa zakarat min makhaafateka,
Eyes weep for the heedlessness of the hearts when You are mentioned, in fear of You…
سُبْحانَكَ ما اَفْضَلَ حِلْمَكَ
subhaanaka maa afzala hilmaka,
Glory be to You, how excellent is Your Forbearance
وَ اَمْضى حُكْمَكَ وَ اَحْسَنَ خَلْقَكَ
wa amzaa hukmaka, wa ahsana khlaqaka,
and how effective is Your Judgement and how good Your creation!
سُبْحانَكَ لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اَنْتَ وَ بِحَمْدِكَ
subhaanaka laa elaaha illaa anta wa be-hamdeka
Glory be to You, there is no god but You, and Praise be to You,
مَنْ يَبْلُغُ مَدْحَكَ اَوْ يَسْتَطيعُ اَنْ يَصِفَ كُنْهَكَ اَوْ يَنالَ مُلْكَكَ
man yablogho mad-haka, aw yasta-tee-o’ an yasefa kunhaka, aw yanaalo mulkaka,
who is it that attains Your Praise or is able to describe Your Essence or encompass Your Sovereignty ?
سُبْحانَكَ حارَتِ الْاَبْصارُ دُونَكَ
subhaanaka haaratil absaaro doonaka,
Glory be to You, sights are dazzled before You
وَ امْتَلَأَتِ الْقُلُوبُ فَرَقاً مِنْكَ
wam tala-atil qoloobo farqan minka
And hearts are filled with fear of You
وَ وَجَلاً مِنْ مَخافَتِكَ
wa wajelan min makhaafateka,
and trembling in fear of You.
سُبْحانَكَ اللَّهُمَّ لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اَنْتَ
subhaanaka allaahumma laa elaaha illaa anta
Glory be to You, O Allah, there is no god but You,
وَ بِحَمْدِكَ ما اَحْكَمَكَ وَ اَعْدَلَكَ وَ اَرْأَفَكَ وَ اَرْحَمَك
wa be-hamdeka maa ahlamaka, wa aa’dalaka wa ar-afaka, wa arhamaka,
and Praise be to You, how Forbearing, Just, Compassionate, Merciful.
وَ اَسْمَعَكَ وَ اَبْصَرَكَ
wa asma-a’ka wa absaraka,
Clear in hearing and Clear in seeing are You.
سُبْحانَكَ اَنْتَ الْحَىُّ لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اَنْتَ
subhaanaka laa elaaha illaa anta
Glory be to You, You are the Ever-Living, there is no god but You.
تَبارَكْتَ وَ تَعالَيْتَ عَمَّا يَقُولُ الظَّالِمُونَ عُلُوّاً كَبيراً
tabarakta wa ta'layta amma yaquluz zalemoon oluwan kabeera
Blessed are You and very High Exalted are You above what the wrongdoers say.
سُبْحانَكَ لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ اَنْتَ
subhaanaka laa elaaha illaa anta
Glory be to You, there is no god but You,
لاتَحْرِمْني رَحْمَتَكَ وَ لا تُعَذِّبْني
laa tahrimnee rahmateka wa laa to-a’zzibnee,
do not deny me Your Mercy and do not punish me
وَ اَنَا اَسْتَغْفِرُكَ امينَ امينَ رَبَّ الْعالَمينَ
wa anaa astaghferoka, aameena, aameena rabbal a’alameena.
while I ask forgiveness of You, Amen, Amen, O Lord of the World
