Supplication 125- Day 2 of the month from Al-Sahifa e Alaviya
Day 2 of Month
بِسْمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحْمٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
bismillahi alrrahmani alrrahimi
In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.
اَلْحَمْدُ لِلهِ الَّذي اَنْزَلَ عَلى عَبْدِهِ الْكِتابَ وَ لَمْ يَجْعَلْ لَهُ عِوَجاً
al-hamdo lillaahil lazee anzala a’laa ab’dehil ketaaba wa lam yaj-a’l lahu e’wajaa
"Praise be to Allah who has sent down upon His servant the Book, and has not caused therein any crookedness." (18:1)
قَيِّمًا لِّيُنذِرَ بَأْسًا شَدِيدًا مِّن لَّدُنْهُ وَيُبَشِّرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ الَّذِينَ يَعْمَلُونَ الصَّالِحَاتِ أَنَّ لَهُمْ أَجْرًا حَسَنًا
qayyeman leyunzera baasan shadeedam mil ladunho wa yobashsheral moameneenal lazeena ya’maloonas saalehaate anna lahum ajran hasanam
"(He has made it) straight, in order that He may warn of a severe punishment from Him, and give glad tidings to the believers who do good, that theirs shall be a goodly recompense." (18:2)
مَّاكِثِينَ فِيهِ أَبَدًا
maakeseena feehe abadan.
"Wherein they will abide for ever." (18:3)
وَ يُنْذِرَ الَّذينَ قالُوا اتَّخَذَ اللهُ وَلَداً
wa yunzeral lazeena qaalut takhazal laaho waladaa.
"And that He may warn those who say, ‘Allah has taken a son." (18:4)
ما لَهُمْ بِهِ مِنْ عِلْمٍ وَ لا لِابائِهِمْ كَبُرَتْ كَلِمَةٌ تَخْرُجُ مِنْ اَفْواهِهِمْ اِنْ يَقُولُونَ اِلاَّ كَذِباً
maa lahum behi min i’lminw wa laa le-aa-baaa-ehim, kaborat kalematan takhrojo min afwaahehim, iny yaqooloona illaa kazebaa.
"They have no knowledge of this, nor had their fathers; Grievous in the word that comes out of their mouths; they speak nothing but a lie." (18:5)
اَلْحَمْدُ لِلهِ الَّذي اَذْهَبَ عَنَّا الْحَزَنَ اِنَّ رَبَّنا لَغَفُورٌ شَكُورٌ
al-hamdo lillaahil lazee azhaba a’nnal hazan, inna rabbanaa laghafoorun shakooronil
“Praise be to Allah who has taken away grief from us; verily our Lord is Oft-forgiving, All-appreciating." (35:34)
اَلَّذي اَحَلَّنا دارَ الْمُقامَةِ مِنْ فَضْلِهِ لا يَمَسُّنا فيها نَصَبٌ وَ لا يَمَسُّنا فيها لُغُوبٌ
lazee ahallanaa daaral moqaamate min fazleh, laa yamassonaa feehaa nasabunw wa laa yamassonaafeehaa loghoob.
"Who has settled us by His grace in an abode of eternal rest where toil does not touch us nor weariness affect us." (35:35)
اَلْحَمْدُ لِلهِ وَ سَلا مٌ عَلى عِبادِهِ الَّذينَ اصْطَفى ءاللهُ خَيْرٌ اَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ
alhamdo lillaahe wa salaamun a’laa e’baadehil lazeenas tafaa, aallaaho khayrun ammaa yushrekoon.
“Praise be to Allah, and peace be on His servants whom He has chosen. What is Allah better, or what they associate (with Him) ?" (27:59)
أَمَّنْ خَلَقَ السَّماواتِ وَ الْاَرْضَ وَ اَنْزَلَ مِنَ السَّماءِ ماءً فَاَنْبَتْنا بِهِ حَدائِقَ ذاتَ بَهْجَةٍ ما كانَ لَكُمْ اَن تُنْبِتُوا شَجَرَها ءَ اِلهٌ مَعَ اللهِ بَلْ هُمْ قَوْمٌ يَعْدِلُونَ
amman khalaqas samaawaate wal arza wa anzala lakum menas samaaa-e maaa-a, fa-ambatnaa behi hadaaa-eqa zaata bahjah, maa kaana lakum an tumbetoo shajarahaa, aelaahum ma-a’l laah, bal hum qawmuny ya’deloon.
"Is not He (best) who created the heavens and the earth, and sends down for you water from the heaven with which We cause beautiful gardens? It was not in your power to make its trees grow. What! is there any other god along with Allah ? Nay, but they are a people who go astray." (27:60)
أَمَّنْ جَعَلَ الْاَرْضَ قَراراً وَ جَعَلَ خِلالَها اَنْهاراً وَ جَعَلَ لَها رَواسِيَ وَ جَعَلَ بَيْنَ الْبَحْرَيْنِ حاجِزاً ءَاِلهٌ مَعَ اللهِ بَلْ اَكْثَرُهُمْ لايَعْلَمُونَ
amman jaa’lal arza qaraaranw wa ja-a’la khelaalahaa anhaaranw wa ja-a’la lahaa rawaaseya wa ja-a’la baynal bahrayne haajezaa, a elahum ma-a’l laah, bal aksarohum laa ya’lamoon.
"Is not he (best) who made the earth a habitable place and made amidst it rivers and placed thereon firm mountains and set a barrier between two bodies of water? Is there any other god along with Allah? Nay, most of them do not know." (27:61)
أَمَّنْ يُجيبُ الْمُضْطَرَّ اِذا دَعاهُ وَ يَكْشِفُ السُّوءَ وَ يَجْعَلُكُمْ خُلَفاءَ الْاَرْضِ ءَاِلهٌ مَعَ اللهِ قَليلاً ما تَذَكَّرُونَ
ammany yojeebul muztarra ezaa da-a’aa-ho wa yakshefus sooo-a wa yaj-a’lokum kholafaaa-al arz, a elaahum ma-a’l laah, qaleelam maa tazakkaroon.
"Is not He (best) who answers the distressed when he calls unto Him, and removes the distress and makes you the successors in the earth. Is there any other god along with Allah? How little it is that you reflect." (27:62)
اَمَّنْ يَهْديكُمْ في ظُلُماتِ الْبَرِّ وَ الْبَحْرِ وَ مَنْ يُرْسِلُ الرِّياحَ بُشْراً بَيْنَ يَدَىْ رَحْمَتِهِ ءَاِلهٌ مَعَ اللهِ تَعالَى اللهُ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ
ammany yahdeekum fee zolomaatil barre wal bahre wa many yurselur reyaaha bushram bayna yaday rahmateh, a elaahum ma-a’l laah, ta-a’alal laaho a’mmaa yushrekoon.
"Is not He (best) who guides you in the darkness of the land and the sea and sends the winds, as the bearers of glad tidings before His mercy ? Is there any other god along with Allah ? High exalted be Allah, above what they associate (with Him)." (27:63)
اَمَّن يَبْدَءُ الْخَلْقَ ثُمَّ يُعيدُهُ وَ مَنْ يَرْزُقُكُمْ مِنَ السَّماءِ وَ الْاَرْضِ ءَاِلهٌ مَعَ اللهِ قُلْ هاتُوا بُرْهانَكُمْ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ صادِقينَ
ammany yabda-ul khalqa summa yo-e’edohu wa many yarzoqokum menas samaaa-e wal arz, a elaahum ma-a’l laah, qul haatoo burhaanakum in kuntum saadeqeen.
"Is not He (best) who originates creation, then brings it back again, and gives you sustenance from the heavens and earth ? Is there any other god along with Allah? Say: Bring your proof, if you are truthful." (27:64)
قُلْ لا يَعْلَمُ مَنْ فِي السَّماواتِ وَ الْاَرْضِ الْغَيْبَ إِلاَّ اللهُ وَ ما يَشْعُرُونَ اَيَّانَ يُبْعَثُونَ
qul laa ya’lamo man fis samaawaate wal arzil ghaybe illal laah, wa maa yasho’roona ayyaana yuba’soon.
"Say : No one knows the Unseen in the heavens and earth except Allah, nor do they know, when they shall be raised again.” (27:65)
اَلْحَمْدُ لِلهِ الَّذي لَهُ ما فِي السَّماواتِ وَ ما فِيالْاَرْضِ وَ لَهُ الْحَمْدُ فِي الْاخِرَةِ وَ هُوَ الْحَكيمُ الْخَبيرُ
al-hamdo lillaahil lazee lahu maa fis samaawaate wa maa fil arze wa lahul hamdo fil aakherah, wa howal hakeemul khabeer.
“Praise be to Allah to whom belongs whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth. His is the praise in the Hereafter; He is All-wise, All-knowing.” (34:1)
اَلْحَمْدُ لِلهِ فاطِرِ السَّماواتِ وَ الْاَرْضِ جاعِلِ الْمَلائِكَةِ رُسُلاً اُولي اَجْنِحَةٍ مَثْنى وَ ثُلاثَ وَ رُباعَ يَزيدُ فِي الْخَلْقِ ما يَشاءُ اِنَّ اللهَ عَلى كُلِّ شَيْ ءٍ قَديرٌ
alhamdo lilaahe faateris samaawaate wal arze jaa-e’lil malaa-ekate rosolan oolee ajnehatim masnaa wa solaasa wa roba’, yazeedo fil khalqe maa yashaaa, innal laaha a’laa kulle shay-in qadeer.
“Praise be to Allah, Originator of the heavens and the earth, who made the angles messengers with wings two, three and four; He adds what He will to His creation. Surely Allah has power over all things.” (35:1)
،اَلْحَمْدُ لِلهِ الْغَفُورِ الْغَفَّارِ الْوَدُودِ التَّوَّابِ، الْوَهَّابِ الْكَريمِ، الْعَظيمِ الْكَبيرِ السَّميعِ الْبَصيرِ الْعَليمِ، الصَّمَدِ الْحَىِّ الْقَيُّومِ، الْعَزيزِ الْجَبَّارِ الْمُتَكَبِّرِ
al-hamdo lillaahil ghafooril ghaffaaril wadoodit tawwaabil wahhaabil kabeeris, samee-i’l baseeril a’leemis, samadil hayyil qayyoomil a’zeezil jabbaaril motakabber.
Praise belongs to Allah, the All-forgiving, the Oft-forgiving, the Loving, the Oft-turning (to forgive), the Bestower, the Noble, the Tremendous, the Great, the All-hearing, the All-seeing, the All-knowing, the Eternal Refuge, “...the Ever-living, the Self-subsisting...” (2:255), "...the Ever-prevalent, the Supreme, the Great Absolute...” (59:23)
سُبْحانَ اللهِ الْمَلِكِ الْمُقْتَدِرِ الْقادِرِ الْمَليكِ الْحَقِّ الْمُبينِ
subhaanal laahil malekil muqtaderil qaaderil maleekil haqqil mobeenil,
Glory be to Allah, the Sovereign, the Powerful, the Omnipotent, the King, the “...manifest Truth.” (24:25)
الْعَلِيِّ الْاَعْلَى الْمُتَعالِ الْاَوَّلِ الْاخِرِ
a’liyyil a-a’lal mo-taa’alil, awwalil aakheril,
the Sublime, the Most High the Exalted, the First, the Last,
الْباطِنِ الظَّاهِرِ الْوَلِيِّ الْحَميدِ النَّصيرِ
baateniz zaaheril waliyyil hameedin naseeril,
the Hidden, the Manifest, the Guardian, the All-laudable, the Helper,
الْخَلاَّقِ الْخالِقِ الْبارِي ءِ الْمُصَوِّرِ الْقاهِرِ
khallaaqil khaaleqil baare-il mosawweril qaaheril,
the Creator, the Maker, the Originator, the Fashioner, the Subduer,
الْبَرِّ الشَّكُورِ الْقَهَّارِ الشَّاكِرِ
barrish shakooril, qahhaarish shaakeril,
the All-benign, the All-appreciating, the All-compelling, the Appre-ciative,
الْوَكيلِ الشَّهيدِ الرَّؤُوفِ الْفَتَّاحِ الْعَليمِ
wakeelish shaheedir ra-oofir raqeebil fattaahil a’leemil
the Guardian, the All-witnessing, the All-gentle, the Watcher, “...the Greatest Judge, the All-knowing” (34:26)
الْكَريمِ الْمَحْمُودِ الْجَليلِ
kareemil mahmoodil jaleele
the All-generous, the Most Praised, the Majestic,
غافِرِ الذَّنْبِ وَ قابِلِ التَّوْبِ
ghaaferiz zanbe wa qaabeil tawbe,
“Forgiver of sins acceptor of repentance...” (40:3)
مَلِكِ الْمُلُوكِ، عالِمِ الْغَيْبِ وَ الشَّهادَةِ
malekil molooke, a’alemil ghaybe wash shahaadatil,
King of kings, “…the Knower of the unseen and the visible...” (6:73)
الْقائِمِ الْكَريمِ رَبِّ الْعالَمينَ
qaa-emil kareeme rabbil a’alameen.
the Establisher, the All-generous, Lord of the Worlds.
اَلْحَمْدُ لِلهِ عَظيمِ الْحَمْدِ، عَظيمِ الْعَرْشِ
al-hamdo lillaahe a’zeemil hamde, a’zeemil a’rshe,
Praise belongs to Allah, All-Mighty in Praise, All-mighty of Throne,
عَظيمِ الْمُلْكِ، عَظيمِ السُّلْطانِ
a’zeemil mulke, a’zeemis sultaane,
All-mighty in Dominion, All-mighty in Sovereignty,
عَظيمِ الْعِلْمِ، عَظيمِ الْحِلْمِ
a’zeemil i’lme, a’zeemil hilme,
All-mighty in Knowledge, All-mighty in Forbearance,
عَظيمِ الْكَرامَةِ، عَظيمِ الرَّحْمَةِ
a’zeemil karaamate, a’zeemir rahmate,
All-mighty in Nobility, All-mighty in Mercy,
عَظيمِ الْبَلاءِ، عَظيمِ النُّور
a’zeemil balaa-e, a’zeemin noore,
All-mighty in trial, All-mighty in Light,
عَظيمِ الْفَضْلِ، عَظيمِ الْعِزَّةِ
a’zeemil fazle, a’zeemil i’zzate,
All-mighty in bounty, All-mighty in Glory,
عَظيمِ الْكِبْرِياءِ، عَظيمِ الْعَظَمَةِ
a’zeemil kibreyaa-e, a’zeemil a’zamate,
All-mighty in Grandeur, All-mighty in Majesty,
عَظيمِ النَّعْماءِ، عَظيمِ الرَّأْفَةِ
a’zeemin na’maa-e, a’zeemir raafate,
All-mighty in favours, All-mighty in compassion,
عَظيمِ الْالاءِ، عَظيمِ الْجَبَرُوتِ
a’zeemil aalaa-e, a’zeemil jabaroote,
All-mighty in blessings, All-mighty in magnificence,
عَظيمِ الشَّأْنِ، عَظيمِ الْأَمْرِ
a’zeemish shaane, a’zeemil amre
All-mighty in state, All-mighty in affair.
تَبارَكَ اللهُ رَبُّ الْعالَمينَ
tabaarakal laaho rabbul a’alameena
“Blessed be Allah, Lord of the worlds.” (7:54)
تَبارَكَ اللهُ الَّذي هُوَ اَعْظَمُ مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْ ءٍ
tabaarakal laahul lazee howa a-a’zamo min kulle shay-in
Blessed be Allah Who is Mightier than everything,
وَ اَعَزُّ مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْ ءٍ، وَ اَرْحَمُ مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْ ءٍ
wa a-a’zzo min kulle shay-in, wa arhamo min kulle shay-in,
More Glorious than everything, More Merciful than everything,
وَ اَمْلَكُ مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْ ءٍ، وَ خَيْرٌ مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْ ءٍ
wa amlako min kulle shay-in, wa khayrun min kulle shay-in,
Who possesses More Authority than everything, is more Excellent than everything,
وَ اَعْلى مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْ ءٍ، وَ اَقْدَرُ مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْ ءٍ
wa aa’laa min kulle shayin, wa aqdaro min kulle shay-in.
More Sublime than everything and more Powerful than everything.
اَلْحَمْدُ لِلهِ رَبِّ الْعالَمينَ
alhamdo lillaahe rabbil a’alameen.
“Praise belongs to Allah the Lord of the worlds.” (1:2)
اَلْحَمْدُ لِلهِ الْعَلِيِّ الْعَظيمِ
al-hamdo lillaahil a’liyyil a’zeemir,
Praise belongs to Allah, the Sublime, the All-mighty,
الرَّؤُوفِ الرَّحيمِ الْعَزيزِ
ra-oofir raheemil a’zeezil
the All-gentle, the All-merciful, the Invincible,
الْحَكيمِ الْخَلاَّقِ الْعَليمِ
hakeemil khallaaqil a’leemil
the All-wise, the Creator, the All-knowing,
الْمَلِكِ الْقُدُّوسِ، الْجَليلِ الْكَبيرِ الْمُتَعالِ
malekil quddoosil jaleelil kabeeril mo-ta-a’alil
the King, the All-holy, the Majestic, the All-great, the Exalted,
الْمُتَعَظِّمِ الْمُتَكَبِّرِ، الْمُتَجَبِّرِ الْقَهَّارِ
mota-a’zzemil motakabberil, motajabberil jabbaaril qaahere,
the Magnificent, the All-sublime, the Possessor of Magnificence, the All-compelling, the Omnipotent,
مالِكِ الْجَنَّةِ وَ النَّارِ
maalekil jannate wan naar.
Master of the Garden and the Fire.
لَهُ الْكِبْرِياءُ وَ الْجَبَرُوتُ وَ لَهُ الْحُكْمُ
lahul kibreyaao wal jabarooto wa lahul hukmo
His is the Grandeur and the Magnificence, and “...His is the judgement...” (28:88)
وَ اِلَيْهِ يَصْعَدُ الْكَلِمُ الطَّيِّبُ وَ الْعَمَلُ الصَّالِحُ يَرْفَعُهُ
wa elayhe yas-a’dul kalemut tayyebo wal a’malus saaleho yarfa-o’h.
and “...To Him good words go up, and the righteous deed – He uplifts it...” (35:10)
اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ الِ مُحَمَّدٍ
allaahumma salle a’laa mohammadin wa aale mohammadin,
O Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad,
وَ اجْعَلْ اَعْمالَنا مَرْفُوعَةً اِلَيْكَ
waj a’l a-a’maalanaa marfoo-a’tan elayka,
and make our actions rise up to You,
مَوْصُولَةً بِقَبُولِكَ لَها
mawsoolatan beqabooleka,
and attain Your acceptance,
وَ اَعِنَّا عَلى تَاْدِيَتِها لَكَ
wa a-i’nna a’laa taadeyateha laka.
and help us to perform them for You.
اِنَّهُ لايَأْتي بِالْخَيْرِ إلاَّ اَنْتَ
innahu laa yaaatee bil-khayre illaa anta
Surely no one brings good except You
وَ لا يَصْرِفُ السُّوءَ إلاَّ اَنْتَ
wa laa yasrefus soo-a illaa anta.
and no one averts evil except You.
اِصْرِفْ عَنَّا السُّوءَ وَ الْمَحْذُورَ
isrif a’nnas sooa wal mahzoora
Avert from us the evil and that which is feared
وَ بارِكْ لَنا في جَميعِ الْاُمُورِ
wa baarik lanaa fee jamee-i’l omoore.
and bless us in all affairs.
innaka ghafoorun shakoor.
Surely You are Most Forgiving, All-Grateful.
اَللَّهُمَّ لا تُخَيِّبْ دُعائَنا
allaahumma laa tokhayyib do-a’aanaa,
O Allah, do not disappoint us in our supplication,
وَ لا تُشْمِتْ بِنا اَعْدائَنا
wa laa tushmit benaa a-a’daa-anaa,
and do not make our enemies rejoice at our affliction,
وَ لاتَجْعَلْنا لِلْبَلاءِ غَرَضاً
wa laa taj-a’lnaa lilbalaa- e gharazan,
make us not an object for tribulation,
وَ لا لِلْمَكْرُوهِ نَصَباً
wa laa lil-makroohe nasaban,
nor a target for that which is disapproved,
وَ اعْفُ عَنَّا وَ عافِنا في كُلِّ الْاَحْوالِ
wa’ fo a’nnaa, wa a’afenaa fee kullil ahwaale
and pardon us and grant us well being in all circumstances.
اِنَّكَ عَلى كُلِّ شَيْ ءٍ قَديرٌ
innaka a’laa kulle shay-in qadeerun,
Surely You are Powerful over all things
وَ اِنَّكَ اَنْتَ الْكَبيرُ الْمُتَعالِ
wa innaka antal kabeerul mo-ta-a’aal.
and surely You are the All-Great, the Exalted.
