Dua 111-114 from Sahifa Alavia by Imam Ali(as)
112. His supplication when prostrating for thanking Allah (s.w.t.)
یَا رَبِّ وَعَظْتَنِیْ فَلَمْ اَتَّعِظْ، وَ زَجَرْتَنِیْ عَنْ مَحَارِمِکَ فَلَمْ اَنْزَجِرْ وَ غَمَرَتْنِیْ اَیَادِیْکَ فَمَا شَکَرْتُ، عَفْوَکَ عَفْوَکَ یَا کَرِیْمُ. اَسْئَلُکَ الرَّاحَۃَ عِنْدَ الْمَوْتِ، وَ اَسْئَلُکَ الْعَفْوَ عِنْدَ الْحِسَابِ.
Yaa Rabbe Wa-A’ztanee Falam Atta-I’z, Wa Zajartanee A’n Mahaaremeka Falam Anzajer Wa Ghamaratnee Ayaadeeka Famaa Shakarto, A’fwaka A’fwaka Yaa Kareemo. As-Alokar Raahata I’ndal Mawte, Wa As-Alokal A’fwa I’ndal Hesaabe.
O Lord! You advised me, but I have not followed Your advice and You rebuked me for violating that which You have deemed forbidden, but I have not stopped. You granted me bounties as long as I have lived but I failed to give You thanks. I seek Your pardon, I seek Your pardon, O All-generous! I beseech You for rest at death and for pardon at calling to account.
113. His supplication in prostration of thankfulness
یَا مَنْ لَا یَزِیْدُہٗ اِلْحَاحُ الْمُلِحِّیْنَ اِلَّا جُوْدًا وَ کَرَمًا، یَا مَنْ لَہٗ خَزَائِنُ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَ الْاَرْضِ، یَا مَنْ لَہٗ خَزَائِنُ مَا دَقَّ وَ جَلَّ، لَا تَمْنَعُکَ اِسَائَتِیْ مِنْ اِحْسَانِکَ، اَسْئَلُکَ اَنْ تَفْعَلَ بِیْ مَا اَنْتَ اَہْلَہٗ، فَاَنْتَ اَہْلُ الْجُوْدِ وَ الْکَرَمِ وَ الْعَفْوِ، یَا رَبِّ وَ اَنْتَ قَادِرٌ عَلَی الْعُقُوْبَۃِ، یَا رَبِّ وَ قَدِ اسْتَحْقَقْتُہَا. لَا حُجَّۃَ لِیْ وَ لَا عُذْرَ لِیْ عِنْدَکَ، اِلَیْکَ اَلْجَاتُ اُمُوْرِیْ کُلَّہَا، اَعْتَرِفُ بِہَا کَیْ تَعْفُوَ عَنِّیْ وَ اَنْتَ اَعْلَمُ بِہَا مِنِّیْ. یُؤْتَ اِلَیْکَ بِکُلِّ ذَنْبٍ اَذْنَبْتُہٗ، وَ بِکُلِّ خَطِیْئَۃٍ اَخْطَاتُہَا، وَ بِکُلِّ سَیِّئَۃٍ عَمِلْتُہَا، فَاغْفِرْ وَ ارْحَمْ وَ تَجَاوَزْ عَمَّا تَعْلَمُ، اِنَّکَ اَنْتَ الْاَعَزُّ الْاَکْرَمُ.
Yaa Man Laa Yazeedohu Ilhaahul Molehheena Illaa Joodan Wa Karaman, Yaa Man Lahu Khazaa-Enus Samaawaate Wal Arze, Yaa Man Lahu Khazaa-Eno Maa Daqqa Wa Jalla, Laa Tamna-O’ka Esaa-Atee Min Ehsaaneka, As-Aloka An Taf-A’la Bee Maa Anta Ahlohu, Fa-Anta Ahlul Joode Wal Karame Wal A’fwe, Yaa Rabbe Wa Anta Qaaderun A’lal O’qoobate Yaa Rabbe Wa Qadis Tahqaqtohaa. Laa Hujjata Lee Wa Laa U’zra Lee I’ndaka, Elayka Aljaato Omooree Kullahaa, A-A’tarefo Behaa Kay Ta’fowa A’nnee Wa Anta A-A’lamo Behaa Minnee. Yoata Elayka Bekulle Zanbin Aznabtohu, Wa Bekulle Khatee-Atin Akhtaatohaa, Wa Bekulle Sayye-Atin A’miltohaa, Faghfir War Ham Wa Tajaawaz A’mmaa Ta’lamo, Innaka Antal A-A’zzul Akramo.
O One the weeping of those who weep does not increase anything except Your generosity and kindness. O One Who has the treasures of the heavens and the earth. O One Whose mercy is widespread. My sins cannot restrain Your favors from reaching me for. I ask You regarding my affairs, do what befits You because You are possessor of Generosity, Mercy and Forgiveness. O my Lord! You are powerful over every type of punishment, O my Lord! You have complete right upon all of them. I have no argument to support my case in Your court and neither have I an opportunity to present excuse. I present all my affairs to You and I confess of having committed them so that You may forgive them and You are the best of those who know. I have come to You with all the sins that I have committed and all the mistakes I made and all the evils deeds I have performed. Then forgive me and have mercy on me and overlook all that You know, for You are the most powerful and kind.
114. His supplication recited in prostration
اَللّٰہُمَّ ارْحَمْ ذُلِّیْ بَیْنَ یَدَیْکَ، وَ تَضَرُّعِیْ اِلَیْکَ، وَ وَحْشَتِیْ مِنَ النَّاسِ وَ اُنْسِیْ بِکَ یَا کَرِیْمُ .
Allaahummar Ham Zullee Bayna Yadayka, Wa Tazarro-E’e Elayka, Wa Wahshatee Menan Naase Wa Unsee Beka Yaa Kareemo.
O Allah! Have mercy on my humiliation before You, on my earnest imploring to You, on my loneliness among people, and on my amiability with You. O All-generous!



111. His supplication at the time of mid-day
اَللّٰہُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَتَقَرَّبُ اِلَیْکَ بِجُوْدِکَ وَ کَرَمِکَ، وَ اَتَقَرَّبُ اِلَیْکَ بِمُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدِکَ وَ رَسُوْلِکَ، وَ اَتَقَرُّبُ اِلَیْکَ بِمَلَائِکَتِکَ الْمُقَرَّبِیْنَ وَ اَنْبِیَائِکَ الْمُرْسَلِیْنَ، وَ بِکَ اَللّٰہُمَّ لَکَ الْغِنِیُّ عَنِّيْ، وَ بِیَ الْفَاقَۃُ اِلَیْکَ، اَنْتَ الْغَنِیُّ وَ اَنَا الْفَقِیْرُ اِلَیْکَ اَقِلْنِیْ عَثْرَتِیْ، وَ اسْتُرْ عَلَیَّ ذُنُوْبِیْ، وَ اقْضِ الْیَوْمَ حَاجَتِیْ، وَ لَا تُعَذِّبْنِیْ بِقَبِیْحِ مَا تَعْلَمُ مِنِّیْ، بَلْ عَفْوُکَ یَسَعُنِیْ وَ جُوْدُکَ.
mma Innee Ataqarrabo Elayka Be-Joodeka Wa Karameka, Wa Ataqarrabo Elayka Be-Mohammadin A’bdeka Wa Rasooleka, Wa Ataqarrabo Elayka Be-Malaa-Ekatekal Moqarrabeena Wa Anbeyaa-Ekal Mursaleena, Wa Beka Allaahumma Lakal Ghenaa A’nnee, Wa Beyal Faaqato Elayka, Antal Ghaniyyo Wa Anal Faqeero Elayka Aqilnee A’sratee, Was Tur A’layya Zonoobee, Waq Zil Yawma Haajatee, Wa Laa To-A’zzibnee Beqabeehe Maa Ta’lamo Minnee, Bal A’fwoka Yasa-O’neee Wa Joodoka.
O Lord, I seek nearness to You through Your generosity and magnanimity, I seek nearness to You through Muhammad, Your servant, and Your messenger, I seek nearness to You through Your favorite angels, Your messenger prophets and Your Own Self. O Lord, You are Self-sufficient and do not need me and I need You. You are wealthy and I am poor, correct my slips (mistakes) and cover up my sins, provide me help this day, do not punish me for the evil that You know of me, but Your pardon may encompass me and Your munificence.
Then go in Sajdah and recite:
یَا اَہْلَ التَّقْوٰی، وَ یَا اَہْلَ الْمَغْفِرَۃِ، یَا بَرُّ یَا رَحِیْمُ، اَنْتَ اَبَرُّ بِیْ مِنْ اَبِیْ وَ اُمِّیْ وَ مِنْ جَمِیْعِ الْخَلَائِقِ، اَقْلِبْنِیْ بِقَضَاءِ حَاجَتِیْ، مُجَابًا دُعَائِیْ مَرْحُوْمًا صَوْتِیْ، قَدْ کَشَفْتَ اَنْوَاعَ الْبَلَاءِ عَنِّیْ.
Yaa Ahlat Taqwaa, Wa Yaa Ahlal Maghferate, Yaa Barro Yaa Raheemo, Anta Abarro Bee Min Abee Wa Ummee Wa Min Jamee-I’l Khalaa-Eqe, Aqlibnee Beqazaa-E Haajatee, Mojaaban Do-A’a-Ee Marhooman Sawtee, Qad Kashafta Anwaa-A’l Balaa-E A’nnee.
O You Who deserves people’s observing piety before Him! O You Who grants forgiveness! O Virtuous! and O Merciful! You are more kind to me than my father and mother and all the creatures, accept my plea in providing me help, answering my supplication and prayer, grant me favor for my call while You have already removed so many misfortunes from me.
