7.Imam Zainul Abideen (as) Dua- Iqbal Aamal 25th
اللَّهُمَّ يَا جَاعِلَ اللَّيْلِ لِبَاساً وَ النَّهَارِ مَعَاشاً
Allāhumma yā jā‘ila al-layli libāsan wa an-nahāri ma‘āshan
O Allah, the One who made the night a covering and the day a means of livelihood.
وَ الْأَرْضِ مِهَاداً وَ الْجِبَالِ أَوْتَاداً
Wa al-’arḍi mihādan wa al-jibāli awtādan
And the earth a resting place, and the mountains as pegs.
يَا اللَّهُ يَا قَادِرُ يَا اللَّهُ يَا قَاهِرُ
Yā Allāhu yā qādiru yā Allāhu yā qāhiru
O Allah, O All-Powerful! O Allah, O Overwhelming!
يَا اللَّهُ يَا حَنَّانُ يَا اللَّهُ يَا مَنَّانُ
Yā Allāhu yā ḥannān yā Allāhu yā mannān
O Allah, O Most Compassionate! O Allah, O Most Generous!
يَا اللَّهُ يَا سَمِيعُ يَا قَرِيبُ يَا اللَّهُ يَا مُجِيبُ
Yā Allāhu yā samī‘u yā qarību yā Allāhu yā mujību
O Allah, O All-Hearing, O Near One! O Allah, O Responsive!
يَا اللَّهُ يَا بَاعِثُ يَا اللَّهُ يَا وَارِثُ
Yā Allāhu yā bā‘ithu yā Allāhu yā wārithu
O Allah, O Resurrector! O Allah, O Inheritor!
يَا اللَّهُ يَا حَقُّ يَا اللَّهُ يَا وَكِيلُ
Yā Allāhu yā ḥaqq yā Allāhu yā wakīl
O Allah, O The Absolute Truth! O Allah, O Trustee!
يَا اللَّهُ يَا كَفِيلُ يَا اللَّهُ يَا رَبِّ
Yā Allāhu yā kafīl yā Allāhu yā rabbī
O Allah, O The Guarantor! O Allah, O My Lord!
يَا اللَّهُ يَا مُقِيتُ يَا اللَّهُ يَا حَسِيبُ
Yā Allāhu yā muqītu yā Allāhu yā ḥasību
O Allah, O Sustainer! O Allah, O Reckoner!
يَا اللَّهُ يَا جَلِيلُ يَا اللَّهُ يَا جَمِيلُ
Yā Allāhu yā jalīl yā Allāhu yā jamīl
O Allah, O Majestic! O Allah, O Beautiful!
يَا اللَّهُ يَا نُورُ يَا اللَّهُ ذَا الْعَظَمَةِ
Yā Allāhu yā nūr yā Allāhu dhā al-‘aẓamah
O Allah, O Light! O Allah, Possessor of Greatness!
وَ الْجَبَرُوتِ وَ الْفَضْلِ وَ الْإِحْسَانِ وَ الْمَنِّ وَ السُّلْطَانِ
Wa al-jabarūt wa al-faḍl wa al-iḥsān wa al-mann wa as-sulṭān
And Absolute Power, and Grace, and Excellence, and Beneficence, and Sovereignty.
سُبْحَانَ الَّذِي أَحْصَى كُلَّ شَيْءٍ عِلْمُهُ
Subḥāna alladhī aḥṣā kulla shay’in ‘ilmuhu
Glory be to Him who has encompassed all things in His knowledge.
سُبْحَانَ الَّذِي عَمَّ الْخَلَائِقَ رِزْقُهُ
Subḥāna alladhī ‘amma al-khalā’iq rizquhu
Glory be to Him whose provision extends to all creatures.
سُبْحَانَكَ لا إِلهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ
Subḥānaka lā ilāha illā anta
Glory be to You! There is no god but You.
سُبْحَانَكَ إِنِّي كُنْتُ مِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ
Subḥānaka innī kuntu mina aẓ-ẓālimīn
Glory be to You! Indeed, I was among the wrongdoers.
اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْ نُوراً فِي قَلْبِي وَ نُوراً فِي سَمْعِي
Allāhumma aj‘al nūran fī qalbī wa nūran fī sam‘ī
O Allah, place light in my heart and light in my hearing.
وَ نُوراً فِي بَصَرِي وَ نُوراً فِي شَعْرِي
Wa nūran fī baṣarī wa nūran fī sha‘rī
And light in my sight, and light in my hair.
وَ نُوراً فِي بَشَرِي وَ نُوراً فِي عِظَامِي
Wa nūran fī basharī wa nūran fī ‘iẓāmī
And light in my skin, and light in my bones.
وَ نُوراً فِي لَحْمِي وَ نُوراً فِي دَمِي
Wa nūran fī laḥmī wa nūran fī damī
And light in my flesh, and light in my blood.
وَ نُوراً عَنْ يَمِينِي وَ نُوراً عَنْ شِمَالِي
Wa nūran ‘an yamīnī wa nūran ‘an shimālī
And light on my right, and light on my left.
وَ نُوراً مِنْ فَوْقِي وَ نُوراً مِنْ تَحْتِي
Wa nūran min fawqī wa nūran min taḥtī
And light above me, and light beneath me.
وَ نُوراً مِنْ بَيْنِ يَدَيَّ وَ نُوراً مِنْ خَلْفِي
Wa nūran min bayna yadayya wa nūran min khalfī
And light before me, and light behind me.
اللَّهُمَّ أَعْطِنِي نُوراً وَ هَبْ لِي نُوراً
Allāhumma a‘ṭinī nūran wa hab lī nūran
O Allah, grant me light and bestow upon me light.
وَ اجْعَلْ لِي نُوراً يَا نُورَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَ الْأَرْضِ
Wa aj‘al lī nūran yā nūra as-samāwāti wa al-arḍ
And make light for me, O Light of the heavens and the earth!
يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ
Yā arḥama ar-rāḥimīn Allāhumma innī as’aluka
O Most Merciful of the merciful! O Allah, I ask You.
أَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
An tuṣalliya ‘alā Muḥammadin wa āli Muḥammad
To send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad.
وَ أَنْ تُعْتِقَنِي مِنَ النَّارِ وَ تُدْخِلَنِي جَنَّاتٍ
Wa an tu‘tiqanī mina an-nāri wa tudkhilanī jannāt
And to free me from the Fire, and admit me into gardens.
تَجْرِي مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ إِنَّكَ وَاحِدٌ عَزِيزٌ غَفَّارٌ
Tajrī min taḥtihā al-anhāru innaka wāḥidun ‘azīzun ghaffār
Beneath which rivers flow. Indeed, You are One, Mighty, and Forgiving.
اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ تَعْلَمُ سِرِّي فَاقْبَلْ مَعْذِرَتِي
Allāhumma innaka ta‘lamu sirrī faqbal ma‘dhiratī
O Allah, You know my secret, so accept my excuse.
وَ تَعْلَمُ مَا فِي نَفْسِي فَأَقِلْنِي عَثْرَتِي
Wa ta‘lamu mā fī nafsī fa-aqilnī ‘athratī
And You know what is in my soul, so pardon my slip.
وَ تَعْلَمُ حَاجَتِي فَأَعْطِنِي مَسْأَلَتِي
Wa ta‘lamu ḥājātī fa-a‘ṭinī mas’alatī
And You know my needs, so grant me my request.
يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ
Yā arḥama ar-rāḥimīn
O Most Merciful of the merciful!
أَسْأَلُكَ أَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
As’aluka an tuṣalliya ‘alā Muḥammadin wa āli Muḥammad
I ask You to send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad.
وَ أَنْ تُنَفِّسَ عَنِّي كُرْبَتِي وَ تَقْضِيَ عَنِّي دَيْنِي
Wa an tunaffisa ‘annī kurbatī wa taqḍiya ‘annī daynī
And to relieve my distress and pay off my debt.
وَ تُرْضِيَ عَنِّي أَصْحَابَ التَّبِعَاتِ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ
Wa turḍiya ‘annī aṣḥāba at-tabi‘āti min khalqik
And to make those I owe from Your creation pleased with me.
بِفَضْلِكَ وَ جُودِكَ وَ كَرَمِكَ لَا بِاسْتِحْقَاقِي
Bi faḍlik wa jūdik wa karamika lā bi-istihqāqī
By Your grace, generosity, and kindness—not by my own worthiness.
يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ أَحْيِنِي بِعِزَّتِكَ الْقَاهِرَةِ
Yā arḥama ar-rāḥimīn aḥyinī bi-‘izzatika al-qāhirah
O Most Merciful of the merciful! Grant me life through Your overwhelming might.
وَ سُلْطَانِكَ الْعَظِيمِ فَإِنَّكَ حَيٌّ قَيُّومٌ لَا يَمُوتُ
Wa sulṭānika al-‘aẓīm fa-innaka ḥayyun qayyūmun lā yamūtu
And Your great sovereignty, for You are the Ever-Living, the Sustainer, who never dies.
وَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَى سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ النَّبِيِّ وَ آلِهِ وَ سَلَّمَ تَسْلِيماً
Wa ṣallā Allāhu ‘alā sayyidinā Muḥammadin an-nabiyy wa ālih wa sallama taslīman
And may Allah send blessings upon our master Muhammad, the Prophet, and his family, and grant them peace.
اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْ سَعْيِي فِيهِ [فِي هَذَا الْيَوْمِ] مَشْكُوراً
Allāhumma aj‘al sa‘yī fīhi [fī hādhā al-yawm] mashkūran
O Allah, make my efforts in this [day] appreciated.
وَ ذَنْبِي بِعَفْوِكَ فِيهِ مَغْفُوراً
Wa dhanbī bi-‘afwika fīhi maghfūran
And forgive my sins through Your pardon.
وَ عَمَلِي فِيهِ مَقْبُولًا وَ عَيْبِي بِجُودِكَ فِيهِ مَسْتُوراً
Wa ‘amalī fīhi maqbūlan wa ‘aybī bi-jūdika fīhi mastūran
And accept my deeds, and conceal my faults through Your generosity.
[وَ أَغْنِنِي فِيهِ بِجُودِكَ يَا أَسْمَعَ السَّامِعِينَ
Wa aghninī fīhi bi-jūdika yā asma‘a as-sāmi‘īn
And enrich me in it through Your generosity, O Best of listeners.
يَا مُجِيبَ دَعَوَاتِ الْمُبْتَهِلِينَ]
Yā mujība da‘awāti al-mubtahilīn
O Responder to the supplications of the humble.
يَا سَامِعَ أَصْوَاتِ الْمُبْتَهِلِينَ بِرَحْمَتِكَ
Yā sāmi‘a aṣwāti al-mubtahilīn bi-raḥmatika
O Hearer of the voices of the pleading ones, through Your mercy.
يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ
Yā arḥama ar-rāḥimīn
O Most Merciful of the merciful!
