New Month Salat
اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ اللَّهُ
Allāhumma anta Allāh
O Allah, You are Allah.
وَ أَنْتَ الرَّحْمَـٰنُ الرَّحِيمُ
Wa anta ar-Raḥmān ar-Raḥīm
And You are the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
وَ أَنْتَ الْمَلِكُ الْقُدُّوسُ
Wa anta al-Malik al-Quddūs
And You are the King, the Most Holy.
وَ أَنْتَ السَّلامُ الْمُؤْمِنُ
Wa anta as-Salām al-Mu’min
And You are the Source of Peace, the Granter of Security.
Wa anta al-Muhaymin
And You are the Preserver of Safety.
Wa anta al-‘Azīz
And You are the Mighty.
Wa anta al-Jabbār
And You are the Compeller.
Wa anta al-Mutakabbir
And You are the Supreme.
Wa anta al-Khāliq
And You are the Creator.
Wa anta al-Bāri’
And You are the Evolver.
Wa anta al-Muṣawwir
And You are the Fashioner.
وَ أَنْتَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ
Wa anta al-‘Azīz al-Ḥakīm
And You are the Mighty, the Wise.
وَ أَنْتَ الْأَوَّلُ وَ الْآخِرُ
Wa anta al-Awwal wa al-Ākhir
And You are the First and the Last.
وَ الظَّاهِرُ وَ الْبَاطِنُ
Wa az-Zāhir wa al-Bāṭin
And the Manifest and the Hidden.
لَكَ الْأَسْمَاءُ الْحُسْنَى
Laka al-Asmā’ al-Ḥusnā
To You belong the Best Names.
أَسْأَلُكَ يَا رَبِّ بِحَقِّ هَذِهِ الْأَسْمَاءِ
As’aluka yā Rabb bi-Ḥaqq hādhihi al-Asmā’
I ask You, O Lord, by the right of these Names.
وَ بِحَقِّ أَسْمَائِكَ كُلِّهَا
Wa bi-Ḥaqq asmā’ika kullihā
And by the right of all Your Names.
أَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ عَلَى آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
An tuṣallī ‘alá Muḥammad wa ‘alá Āl Muḥammad
To send blessings upon Muhammad and upon the family of Muhammad.
وَ آتِنا اللَّهُمَّ فِي الدُّنْيا حَسَنَةً
Wa ātinā Allāhumma fī ad-Dunyā ḥasanah
And grant us, O Allah, goodness in this world.
وَ فِي الآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً
Wa fī al-Ākhirah ḥasanah
And goodness in the Hereafter.
وَ اخْتِمْ لَنَا بِالسَّعَادَةِ
Wa ikh'tim lanā bi-as-Sa‘ādah
And conclude our lives with happiness.
وَ الشَّهَادَةِ فِي سَبِيلِكَ
Wa ash-Shahādah fī Sabīlika
And martyrdom in Your cause.
وَ عَرِّفْنَا بَرَكَةً شَهْرِنَا هَذَا
Wa ‘arifnā barakatan shahrinā hādhā
And make us aware of the blessings of this month.
وَ يُمْنَهُ وَ ارْزُقْنَا خَيْرَهُ
Wa yumnahu wa urzuqnā khayrahu
And its good fortune, and grant us its goodness.
وَ اصْرِفْ عَنَّا شَرَّهُ
Wa iṣrif ‘annā sharrahu
And turn away from us its evil.
وَ اجْعَلْنَا فِيهِ مِنَ الْفَائِزِينَ
Wa aj’alnā fīhi min al-Fā’izīn
And make us among the successful in it.
وَ قِنَا بِرَحْمَتِكَ عَذَابَ النَّارِ
Wa qinā bi-raḥmatika ‘adhāb an-Nār
And protect us by Your mercy from the punishment of the Fire.
يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ إِنَّكَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
Yā Arḥam ar-Rāḥimīn innaka ‘alá kulli shay’in qadīr
O Most Merciful of the merciful, indeed You are capable of all things.
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعالَمِينَ
Al-ḥamdu lillāhi Rabb al-‘Ālamīn
All praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds.
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي خَلَقَ السَّماواتِ وَ الْأَرْضَ
Al-ḥamdu lillāhi alladhī khalaqa as-Samāwāt wa al-Arḍ
All praise is due to Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth.
وَ قَدْ جَعَل الظُّلُمَاتَ وَ النُّورَ.
Wa qad ja‘ala aẓ-Ẓulumāt wa an-Nūr.
And He made darkness and light.
ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا بِرَبِّهِمْ يَعْدِلُون.
Thumma alladhīna kafarū bi-Rabbihim ya‘dilūn.
Then those who disbelieved in their Lord will be judged.
هُوَ الَّذِي خَلَقَكُمْ مِن طِينٍ.
Huwa alladhī khalaqakum min ṭīn.
He is the One who created you from clay.
ثُمَّ قَدْ قَدَى أَمَلًا.
Thumma qad qadā amalًا.
Then He decreed a term (for you).
وَ الْأَمَلُ مُسَمًّى عِنْدَهُ.
Wa al-Amal musammān ‘indahu.
And that term is known to Him.
ثُمَّ أَنْتُمْ تَمْتَرُونَ.
Thumma antum tamtarūn.
Then you doubt (the truth).
هُوَاللَّهُ فِي السَّماواتِ وَ فِي الأَرْضِ.
Huwa Allāh fī as-Samāwāt wa fī al-Arḍ.
He is Allah in the heavens and in the earth.
يَعْلَم سِرَّكُمْ وَ جَهْرَهُمْ.
Ya‘lam sirrakum wa jahrahum.
He knows your secrets and what you reveal.
وَ يَعْلَم مَا تَكْسَبُونَ.
Wa ya‘lam mā taksibūn.
And He knows what you earn.
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَنْزَلَ عَلَى عَبده الكِتابَ.
Al-ḥamdu lillāhi alladhī anzala ‘alá ‘abdihi al-Kitāb.
All praise is due to Allah, Who has sent down to His servant the Book.
وَلَمْ يَجْعَل لَهُ عِوَجًا قَيِّمًا.
Wa lam yaj‘al lahu ‘iwājān qayyimān.
And He has made it straight (without crookedness).
لِيُنذِر بئسًا شَدِيدًا مِن لَدُنَّهُ.
Li-yundhir bi’san shadīdān min ladunhu.
To warn of a severe punishment from Him.
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي لَهُ مَا فِي السَّماواتِ وَ مَا فِي الأَرْضِ.
Al-ḥamdu lillāhi alladhī lahu mā fī as-Samāwāt wa mā fī al-Arḍ.
All praise is due to Allah, to whom belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth.
وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ فِي الآخِرَةِ.
Wa lahu al-ḥamdu fī al-Ākhirah.
And to Him belongs all praise in the Hereafter.
Wa huwa ‘Azīzun Ḥakīm.
And He is the Mighty, the Wise.
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ فاطِر السَّماواتِ وَ الأَرْض.
Al-ḥamdu lillāhi Fāṭir as-Samāwāt wa al-Arḍ.
All praise is due to Allah, Creator of the heavens and the earth.
Jā’il al-Malā’ikah Rusulān.
He makes angels messengers (of His commands).
أَوْلِي أَجِنحة مَثنى وَ ثُلث وَ ربع.
Awlī ajniḥah mathnā wa thulth wa rub‘a.
Having wings two, three, or four (pairs).
Yazīd fī al-khalq mā yashā’.
He adds to creation what He wills.
إن اللَّه على كل شيء قدير.
Inna Allāh ‘alá kulli shay’in qadīr.
Indeed, Allah is capable of all things.
مَا يفتح اللَّه للناس من رحمة فلا مُمْسكة لها.
Mā yaftah Allāhu lin-nās min raḥmah fa-lā mum'sikata lahā.
Whatever mercy Allah opens for people, none can withhold it;
ومَا يُمسك فلا مُرسِل له من بعده.
Wa mā yum'sik fa-lā mursila lahu min ba‘dih.
And whatever He withholds, none can release it after Him;
Wa huwa ‘Azīzun Ḥakīm.
And He is the Mighty, the Wise.
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي هَدَانَا لِهَذَا وَ مَا كُنَّا لِنَهْتَدِيَ لَوْلا أَنْ هَدَانَا اللَّهُ Al-ḥamdu lillāhi alladhī hadānā li-hādhā wa mā kunnā li-nahtadiya lawlā an hadānā Allāh
(All) praise is for Allah Who guided us to this; and we would not have been guided if Allah had not guided us.
لَقَدْ جَاءَتْ رُسُلُ رَبِّنَا بِالْحَقِّ la-qad jā’at rusulu rabbinā bi-l-ḥaqq.
Certainly, the messengers of our Lord have come with the truth.
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي وَهَبَ لِي عَلَى الْكِبَرِ Al-ḥamdu lillāhi alladhī wahaba lī ‘alā al-kibari
(All) praise is for Allah Who granted me in old age
إِسْمَاعِيلَ وَ إِسْحَاقَ إِنَّ رَبِّي لَسَمِيعُ الدُّعَاءِ Ismā‘īla wa Isḥāqa inna rabbī la-samī‘u al-du‘ā’.
Isma’il and Isaac; indeed, my Lord is the Hearer of prayer.
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لا يَعْلَمُونَ Al-ḥamdu lillāhi bal aktharuhum lā ya‘lamūn.
(All) praise is for Allah, but most of them do not know.
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي نَجَّانَا مِنَ الْقَوْمِ الظَّالِمِينَ Al-ḥamdu lillāhi alladhī najjānā min al-qawmi aẓ-ẓālimīn.
(All) praise is for Allah Who saved us from the unjust people.
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي فَضَّلَنَا عَلَى كَثِيرٍ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ Al-ḥamdu lillāhi alladhī faḍḍalanā ‘alā kathīrin min ‘ibādihi al-mu’minīn.
(All) praise is for Allah Who favored us over many of His believing servants.
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ سَيُرِيكُمْ آيَاتِهِ فَتَعْرِفُونَهَا Al-ḥamdu lillāhi sa-yurīkum āyātihi fa-ta‘rifūnahā
(All) praise is for Allah; He will show you His signs, and you will recognize them.
وَ مَا رَبُّكَ بِغَافِلٍ عَمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ wa mā rabbuka bi-ghāfilin ‘ammā ta‘malūn.
And your Lord is not unaware of what you do.
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَذْهَبَ عَنَّا الْحَزَنَ Al-ḥamdu lillāhi alladhī adhhaba ‘annā al-ḥazan.
(All) praise is for Allah Who has removed all sorrow from us.
إِنَّ رَبَّنَا لَغَفُورٌ شَكُورٌ Inna rabbanā la-ghafūrun shakūr.
Indeed, our Lord is surely Most Forgiving, Most Appreciative.
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي صَدَقَنَا وَعْدَهُ Al-ḥamdu lillāhi alladhī ṣadaqanā wa‘dahū
(All) praise is for Allah Who has fulfilled His promise to us
وَ أَوْرَثَنَا الأَرْضَ نَتَبَوَّأُ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ حَيْثُ نَشَاءُ wa awrathanā al-arḍa natabawwa’u min al-jannati ḥaythu nashā’
and made us inherit the land; we settle in Paradise wherever we wish.
فَنِعْمَ أَجْرُ الْعَامِلِينَ fa-ni‘ma ajru al-‘āmilīn.
So excellent is the reward of the workers.
وَ تَرَى الْمَلائِكَةَ حَافِّينَ مِنْ حَوْلِ الْعَرْشِ Wa tarā al-malā’ikata ḥāffīna min ḥawli al-‘arsh
And you will see the angels encircling the Throne,
يُسَبِّحُونَ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّهِمْ وَ قُضِيَ بَيْنَهُمْ بِالْحَقِّ yusabbiḥūna bi-ḥamdi rabbihim wa quḍiya baynahum bi-l-ḥaqq
glorifying their Lord with His praise; and judgment will be passed between them with truth.
وَ قِيلَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ wa qīla al-ḥamdu lillāhi rabbi al-‘ālamīn.
And it will be said, "(All) praise is for Allah, Lord of the worlds."
فَلِلَّهِ الْحَمْدُ رَبِّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَ رَبِّ الأَرْضِ Fa-li-llāhi al-ḥamdu rabbi al-samāwāti wa rabbi al-arḍi
So (all) praise is for Allah, Lord of the heavens and Lord of the earth,
رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ وَ لَهُ الْكِبْرِيَاءُ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَ الأَرْضِ rabbi al-‘ālamīn. Wa lahu al-kibriyā’u fī al-samāwāti wa al-arḍ
Lord of the worlds. And His is the majesty in the heavens and the earth,
وَ هُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ wa huwa al-‘azīzu al-ḥakīm.
and He is the Almighty, the Wise.
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي لَمْ يَتَّخِذْ وَلَدًا Al-ḥamdu lillāhi alladhī lam yattakhidh waladā
(All) praise is for Allah Who has not taken a son,
وَ لَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ شَرِيكٌ فِي الْمُلْكِ wa lam yakun lahu sharīkun fī al-mulk
and has no partner in the dominion,
وَ لَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ وَلِيٌّ مِنَ الذُّلِّ wa lam yakun lahu waliyyun min al-dhull
and no protector out of weakness;
wa kabbirhu takbīrā.
and magnify Him with [all] magnificence.
اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي مَا سَلَفَ مِنْ ذُنُوبِي Allāhumma ighfir lī mā salafa min dhunūbī
O Allah, forgive me what has passed of my sins,
وَ تَدَارَكْنِي فِيمَا بَقِيَ مِنْ عُمُرِي wa tadāraknī fīmā baqiya min ‘umurī
and amend/overtake me in what remains of my life,
وَ قَوِّ ضَعْفِي لِلَّذِي خَلَقْتَنِي لَهُ wa qawwi ḍa‘fī li-lladhī khalaqtanī lahu
and strengthen my weakness for that for which You created me,
وَ حَبِّبْ إِلَيَّ الْإِيمَانَ وَ زَيِّنْهُ فِي قَلْبِي wa ḥabbib ilayya al-īmāna wa zayyinhu fī qalbī
and make faith beloved to me and beautify it in my heart.
وَ قَدْ دَعْوَتُكَ كَمَا أَمَرْتَنِي Wa qad da‘awtuka kamā amartanī
And I have supplicated to You as You commanded me,
فَاسْتَجِبْ لِي كَمَا وَعَدْتَنِي fa-stajib lī kamā wa‘adtanī.
so answer me as You promised me.
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَصْبَحْتُ لَكَ عَبْداً Allāhumma innī aṣbaḥtu laka ‘abdan
O Allah, I have become Your servant this morning,
لَا أَسْتَطِيعُ دَفْعَ مَا أَكْرَهُ lā astaṭī‘u daf‘a mā akrah
I am unable to repel what I dislike,
وَ لَا أَمْلِكُ مَا أَرْجُو wa lā amliku mā arjū
nor do I possess what I hope for,
وَ أَصْبَحْتُ مُرْتَهَناً بِعَمَلِي wa aṣbaḥtu murtahanan bi-‘amalī
and I have become mortgaged by my deeds.
فَلَا فَقِيرَ أَفْقَرُ مِنِّي إِلَيْكَ Falā faqīra afqaru minnī ilayk
So there is no poor person poorer than me to You,
yā rabba al-‘ālamīn.
O Lord of the worlds.
أَسْأَلُكَ أَنْ تَسْتَعْمِلَنِي عَمَلَ مَنِ اسْتَيْقَنَ حُضُورَ أَجَلِهِ As’aluka an tasta‘milanī ‘amala mani istayqana ḥuḍūra ajalihi
I ask You to employ me in the work of one who is certain of the arrival of his term,
لَا بَلْ عَمَلَ مَنْ قَدْ مَاتَ فَرَأَى عَمَلَهُ lā bal ‘amala man qad māta fa-ra’ā ‘amalahu
nay, but the work of one who has already died and seen his deeds,
وَ نَظَرَ إِلَى ثَوَابِ عَمَلِهِ wa naẓara ilā thawābi ‘amalih
and looked at the reward of his deeds.
إِنَّكَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ Innaka ‘alā kulli shay’in qadīr.
Indeed, You are over all things Powerful.
اللَّهُمَّ هَذَا مَكَانُ الْعَائِذِ بِرَحْمَتِكَ مِنْ عَذَابِكَ Allāhumma hādhā makānu al-‘ā’idhi bi-raḥmatika min ‘adhābika
O Allah, this is the place of one seeking refuge in Your Mercy from Your punishment,
وَ هَذَا مَكَانُ الْعَائِذِ بِمُعَافَاتِكَ مِنْ غَضَبِكَ wa hādhā makānu al-‘ā’idhi bi-mu‘āfātika min ghaḍabik.
and this is the place of one seeking refuge in Your pardon from Your wrath.
اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْنِي مِمَّنْ دَعَاكَ فَأَجَبْتَهُ Allāhumma ij‘alnī mimman da‘āka fa-ajabtah
O Allah, make me one of those who called upon You, so You answered him,
وَ سَأَلَكَ فَأَعْطَيْتَهُ وَ آمَنَ بِكَ فَهَدَيْتَهُ wa sa’alaka fa-a‘ṭaytahu wa āmana bika fa-hadaytah
and asked You, so You gave him, and believed in You, so You guided him,
وَ تَوَكَّلَ عَلَيْكَ فَكَفَيْتَهُ wa tawakkala ‘alayka fa-kafaytahu
and relied upon You, so You sufficed him,
وَ تَقَرَّبَ إِلَيْكَ فَأَدْنَيْتَهُ wa taqarraba ilayka fa-adnaytahu
and drew near to You, so You brought him close,
وَ افْتَقَرَ إِلَيْكَ فَأَغْنَيْتَهُ wa iftaqara ilayka fa-aghnaytahu
and was poor towards You, so You enriched him,
وَ اسْتَغْفَرَكَ فَغَفَرْتَ لَهُ وَ رَضِيتَ عَنْهُ wa istaġfaraka fa-ghafarta lahu wa raḍīta ‘anhu
and sought Your forgiveness, so You forgave him and were pleased with him,
وَ أَرْضَيْتَهُ وَ هَدَيْتَهُ إِلَى مَرْضَاتِكَ wa arḍaytahu wa hadaytahu ilā marḍātika
and satisfied him, and guided him to Your pleasure,
وَ اسْتَعْمَلْتَهُ بِطَاعَتِكَ وَ لِذَلِكَ فَرَّغْتَهُ wa ista‘maltahu bi-ṭā‘atika wa li-dhālika farraġtahu
and employed him in Your obedience, and for that You made him free,
abada(n) mā aḥyaytahu
as long as You keep him alive.
فَتُبْ عَلَيَّ يَا رَبِّ وَ أَعْطِنِي سُؤْلِي Fa-tub ‘alayya yā rabbī wa a‘ṭinī su’lī
So accept my repentance, O Lord, and grant me my request,
وَ لَا تَحْرِمْنِي شَيْئاً مِمَّا سَأَلْتُكَ wa lā taḥrimnī shay’an mimmā sa’altuk
and do not deprive me of anything I have asked You,
وَ اكْفِنِي شَرَّ مَا يَعْمَلُ الظَّالِمُونَ فِي الْأَرْضِ wa ikfinī sharra mā ya‘malu aẓ-ẓālimūna fī al-arḍ
and suffice me against the evil of what the oppressors do on earth.
وَ أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ الَّذِي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ Wa astaghfiru Allāha alladhī lā ilāha illā hu
And I seek the forgiveness of Allah, beside Whom there is no god,
الَّذِي لَا يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ إِلَّا هُوَ alladhī lā yaghfiru al-dhunūba illā hu.
the One Who forgives sins none but Him.
اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ Allāhumma ṣalli ‘alā Muḥammadin wa āli Muḥammad
O Allah, bless Muhammad and the Family of Muhammad,
وَ أَعِنِّي عَلَى الدُّنْيَا وَ ارْزُقْنِي خَيْرَهَا wa a‘innī ‘alā al-dunyā wa arzuqnī khayrahā
and help me against the world and grant me its goodness,
وَ كَرِّهْ إِلَيَّ الْكُفْرَ وَ الْفُسُوقَ وَ الْعِصْيَانَ wa karrih ilayya al-kufra wa al-fusūqa wa al-‘iṣyān
and make disbelief, wickedness, and disobedience hateful to me,
وَ اجْعَلْنِي مِنَ الرَّاشِدِينَ wa ij‘alnī min al-rāshidīn.
and make me one of the rightly guided.
اللَّهُمَّ قَوِّنِي لِعِبَادَتِكَ Allāhumma qawwinī li-‘ibādatik
O Allah, strengthen me for Your worship,
وَ اسْتَعْمِلْنِي فِي طَاعَتِكَ wa ista‘milnī fī ṭā‘atik
and employ me in Your obedience,
وَ بَلِّغْنِي الَّذِي أَرْجُو مِنْ رَحْمَتِكَ wa ballighnī alladhī arjū min raḥmatik
and let me attain what I hope for from Your mercy,
يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ yā arḥama al-rāḥimīn.
O Most Merciful of the merciful.
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الرَّيَّ يَوْمَ الظَّمَاءِ Allāhumma innī as’aluka al-rayya yawma aẓ-ẓamā’
O Allah, I ask You for satisfying thirst on the Day of thirst,
وَ النَّجَاةَ يَوْمَ الْفَزَعِ الْأَكْبَرِ wa an-najāta yawma al-faza‘i al-akbar
and salvation on the Day of the Greatest Terror,
وَ الْفَوْزَ يَوْمَ الْحِسَابِ wa al-fawza yawma al-ḥisāb
and victory on the Day of Reckoning,
وَ الْأَمْنَ يَوْمَ الْخَوْفِ wa al-amna yawma al-khawf
and security on the Day of Fear.
وَ أَسْأَلُكَ النَّظَرَ إِلَى وَجْهِكَ الْكَرِيمِ Wa as’aluka an-naẓara ilā wajhika al-karīm
And I ask You for gazing upon Your Noble Face,
وَ الْخُلُودَ فِي جَنَّتِكَ فِي دَارِ الْمُقَامَةِ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ wa al-khulūda fī jannatika fī dāri al-muqāmati min faḍlik
and eternal abode in Your Paradise, in the abode of permanence by Your grace,
وَ السُّجُودَ يَوْمَ يُكْشَفُ عَنْ سَاقٍ wa as-sujūda yawma yukshafu ‘an sāq
and prostration on the Day a shank will be uncovered,
وَ الظِّلَّ يَوْمَ لَا ظِلَّ إِلَّا ظِلُّكَ wa aẓ-ẓilla yawma lā ẓilla illā ẓilluk
and the shade on the Day there is no shade except Your shade,
وَ مُرَافَقَةَ أَنْبِيَائِكَ وَ رُسُلِكَ وَ أَوْلِيَائِكَ wa murāfaqata anbiyā’ika wa rusulika wa awliyā’ik.
and the company of Your Prophets, Your Messengers, and Your friends (Awliyā’).
اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي مَا قَدَّمْتُ مِنْ ذُنُوبِي Allāhumma ighfir lī mā qaddamtu min dhunūbī
O Allah, forgive me what I have sent forward of my sins,
وَ مَا أَخَّرْتُ وَ مَا أَسْرَرْتُ وَ مَا أَعْلَنْتُ wa mā akhkhartu wa mā asrartu wa mā a‘lantu
and what I have kept back, and what I have hidden, and what I have made public,
وَ مَا أَسْرَفْتُ عَلَى نَفْسِي wa mā asraftu ‘alā nafsī
and what I have transgressed against myself,
وَ مَا أَنْتَ أَعْلَمُ بِهِ مِنِّي wa mā anta a‘lamu bihi minnī
and what You know better than I do.
وَ ارْزُقْنِي التُّقَى وَ الْهُدَى وَ الْعَفَافَ وَ الْغِنَى Wa arzuqnī at-tuqā wa al-hudā wa al-‘afāfa wa al-ghinā
And grant me piety, guidance, chastity, and self-sufficiency,
وَ وَفِّقْنِي لِلْعَمَلِ بِمَا تُحِبُّ وَ تَرْضَى wa waffiqnī li-l-‘amali bi-mā tuḥibbu wa tarḍā.
and grant me success in doing what You love and approve.
اللَّهُمَّ أَصْلِحْ لِي دِينِيَ الَّذِي هُوَ عِصْمَةُ أَمْرِي Allāhumma aṣliḥ lī dīniya alladhī huwa ‘iṣmatu amrī
O Allah, correct for me my religion which is the safeguard of my affairs,
وَ أَصْلِحْ لِي دُنْيَايَ الَّتِي فِيهَا مَعَاشِي wa aṣliḥ lī dunyāya allatī fīhā ma‘āshī
and correct for me my world in which is my livelihood,
وَ أَصْلِحْ لِي آخِرَتِيَ الَّتِي إِلَيْهَا مُنْقَلَبِي wa aṣliḥ lī ākhiratiya allatī ilayhā munqalabī
and correct for me my Hereafter to which is my return,
وَ اجْعَلِ الْحَيَاةَ زِيَادَةً لِي فِي كُلِّ خَيْرٍ wa ij‘ali al-ḥayāta ziyādatan lī fī kulli khayr
and make life an increase for me in every good,
وَ اجْعَلِ الْمَوْتَ رَاحَةً لِي مِنْ كُلِّ سُوءٍ wa ij‘ali al-mawta rāḥatan lī min kulli sū’.
and make death a rest for me from every evil.
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ يَا رَبَّ الْأَرْبَابِ Allāhumma innī as’aluka yā rabba al-arbāb
O Allah, I ask You, O Lord of all lords,
وَ يَا سَيِّدَ السَّادَاتِ وَ يَا مَالِكَ الْمُلُوكِ wa yā sayyida as-sādāt wa yā mālika al-mulūk
O Master of all masters, and O King of all kings,
أَنْ تَرْحَمَنِي وَ تَسْتَجِيبَ لِي وَ تُصْلِحَنِي an tarḥamanī wa tastajība lī wa tuṣliḥanī
to have mercy on me, and to answer me, and to correct me,
فَإِنَّهُ لَا يُصْلِحُ مَنْ صَلَحَ مِنْ عِبَادِكَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ fa-innahu lā yuṣliḥu man ṣalaḥa min ‘ibādika illā ant
for none of Your servants who is corrected can be corrected except by You.
فَإِنَّكَ أَنْتَ رَبِّي وَ ثِقَتِي وَ رَجَائِي وَ مَوْلَايَ وَ مَلْجَئِي Fa-innaka anta rabbī wa thiqatī wa rajā’ī wa mawlāya wa malja’ī
Indeed, You are my Lord, my trust, my hope, my Master, and my refuge,
وَ لَا رَاحِمَ لِي غَيْرُكَ wa lā rāḥima lī ghayruk
and there is no one merciful to me other than You,
وَ لَا مُغِيثَ لِي سِوَاكَ وَ لَا مَالِكَ سِوَاكَ wa lā mughītha lī siwāk wa lā mālikan siwāk
and no one to aid me besides You, and no sovereign besides You,
وَ لَا مُجِيبَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ wa lā mujība illā ant
and no answerer except You.
أَنَا عَبْدُكَ وَ ابْنُ عَبْدِكَ وَ ابْنُ أَمَتِكَ الْخَاطِئُ Anā ‘abduka wa ibnu ‘abdika wa ibnu amatik al-khāṭi’u
I am Your servant, and the son of Your servant, and the son of Your maidservant, the sinner,
الَّذِي وَسِعَتْهُ رَحْمَتُكَ alladhī wasi‘athu raḥmatuk
whom Your mercy has encompassed,
وَ أَنْتَ الْعَالِمُ بِحَالِي وَ حَاجَتِي wa anta al-‘ālimu bi-ḥālī wa ḥājatī
and You are the Knower of my state and my need
وَ كَثْرَةِ ذُنُوبِي وَ الْمُطَّلِعُ عَلَى أُمُورِي كُلِّهَا wa kathrati dhunūbī wa al-muṭṭali‘u ‘alā umūrī kullihā
and the abundance of my sins, and the one informed of all my affairs.
فَأَسْأَلُكَ يَا لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ Fa-as’aluka yā lā ilāha illā ant
So I ask You, O You beside Whom there is no god,
أَنْ تَغْفِرَ لِي مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِي وَ مَا تَأَخَّرَ an taghfira lī mā taqaddama min dhanbī wa mā ta’akhkhar.
to forgive me what has preceded of my sin and what has been delayed.
االلَّهُمَّ لَا تَدَعْ لِي ذَنْباً إِلَّا غَفَرْتَهُ Allāhumma lā tada‘ lī dhanban illā ghafartah
O Allah, do not leave for me any sin but that You have forgiven it,
وَ لَا هَمّاً إِلَّا فَرَّجْتَهُ wa lā hamman illā farrajtah
and no worry but that You have relieved it,
وَ لَا حَاجَةً هِيَ لَكَ رِضًا إِلَّا قَضَيْتَهَا wa lā ḥājatan hiya laka riḍan illā qaḍaytahā
and no need which is pleasing to You but that You have fulfilled it,
وَ لَا عَيْباً إِلَّا أَصْلَحْتَهُ wa lā ‘ayban illā aṣlaḥtah.
and no fault but that You have corrected it.
اللَّهُمَّ وَ آتِنِي فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً Allāhumma wa ātinī fī al-dunyā ḥasanah
O Allah, and grant me in the world good (Hasanah),
وَ فِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَ قِنِي عَذَابَ النَّارِ wa fī al-ākhirati ḥasanah wa qinī ‘adhāba al-nār.
and in the Hereafter good (Hasanah), and guard me from the punishment of the Fire.
اللَّهُمَّ أَعِنِّي عَلَى أَهْوَالِ الدُّنْيَا Allāhumma a‘innī ‘alā ahwāli al-dunyā
O Allah, help me against the terrors of the world,
wa bawā’iqi al-duhūr
and the calamities of the ages,
وَ مُصِيبَاتِ اللَّيَالِي وَ الْأَيَّامِ wa muṣībāti al-layālī wa al-ayyām.
and the misfortunes of the nights and the days.
اللَّهُمَّ وَ احْرُسْنِي مِنْ شَرِّ مَا يَعْمَلُ الظَّالِمُونَ فِي الْأَرْضِ Allāhumma wa uḥrusnī min sharri mā ya‘malu aẓ-ẓālimūna fī al-arḍ
O Allah, and guard me from the evil of what the oppressors do on earth,
فَإِنَّهُ لَا حَوْلَ وَ لَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِكَ fa-innahu lā ḥawla wa lā quwwata illā bik.
for there is no power and no strength except with You.
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ إِيمَاناً ثَابِتاً Allāhumma innī as’aluka īmānan thābitā
O Allah, I ask You for firm faith,
وَ عَمَلًا مُتَقَبَّلًا وَ دُعَاءً مُسْتَجَاباً wa ‘amalan mutaqabbalā wa du‘ā’an mustajāban
and an accepted deed, and an answered supplication,
وَ يَقِيناً صَادِقاً وَ قَوْلًا طَيِّباً wa yaqīnan ṣādiqā wa qawlan ṭayyibā
and sincere certainty, and good speech,
وَ قَلْباً شَاكِراً وَ بَدَناً صَابِراً وَ لِسَاناً ذَاكِراً wa qalban shākirā wa badanā ṣābirā wa lisānan dhākirā.
and a grateful heart, and a patient body, and a remembering tongue.
اللَّهُمَّ انْزِعْ حُبَّ الدُّنْيَا وَ مَعَاصِيَهَا Allāhumma anzi‘ ḥubba al-dunyā wa ma‘āṣīhā
O Allah, remove the love of the world and its sins,
وَ ذِكْرَهَا وَ شَهْوَتَهَا مِنْ قَلْبِي wa dhikrahā wa shahwatahā min qalbī.
and its remembrance, and its desire from my heart.
اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ بِكَرَمِكَ تَشْكُرُ الْيَسِيرَ مِنْ عَمَلِي Allāhumma innaka bi-karamika tashkuru al-yasīra min ‘amalī
O Allah, indeed You, by Your generosity, reward the little of my deed,
فَاعْفُ لِيَ الْكَثِيرَ مِنْ ذُنُوبِي fa-‘fu liya al-kathīra min dhunūbī
so pardon me the abundant of my sins,
وَ كُنْ لِي وَلِيّاً وَ نَصِيراً وَ مُعِيناً وَ حَافِظاً wa kun lī waliyyan wa naṣīran wa mu‘īnan wa ḥāfiẓā.
and be for me a Protector, and a Helper, and an Assistant, and a Guardian.
اللَّهُمَّ هَبْ لِي قَلْباً أَشَدَّ رَهْبَةً لَكَ مِنْ قَلْبِي Allāhumma hab lī qalban ashadda rahbatan laka min qalbī
O Allah, grant me a heart more reverently fearful of You than my heart,
وَ لِسَاناً أَدْوَمَ لَكَ ذِكْراً مِنْ لِسَانِي wa lisānan adwama laka dhikrā min lisānī
and a tongue more continuous in Your remembrance than my tongue,
وَ جِسْماً أَقْوَى عَلَى طَاعَتِكَ وَ عِبَادَتِكَ مِنْ جِسْمِي wa jisman aqwā ‘alā ṭā‘atika wa ‘ibādatika min jismī.
and a body stronger in obedience and worship of You than my body.
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ زَوَالِ نِعْمَتِكَ Allāhumma innī a‘ūdhu bika min zawāli ni‘matik
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the cessation of Your favor,
وَ مِنْ فَجْأَةِ نِقْمَتِكَ وَ مِنْ تَحَوُّلِ عَافِيَتِكَ wa min faj’ati niqmatik wa min taḥawwuli ‘āfiyatik
and from the suddenness of Your retribution, and from the change of Your well-being,
wa min hawli ghaḍabik
and from the terror of Your wrath.
وَ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ جَهْدِ الْبَلَاءِ وَ دَرَكِ الشَّقَاءِ Wa a‘ūdhu bika min jahdi al-balā’ wa daraki al-shaqā’
And I seek refuge in You from the severity of trials, and from reaching wretchedness,
وَ مِنْ شَمَاتَةِ الْأَعْدَاءِ wa min shamātati al-a‘dā’
and from the gloating of enemies,
وَ سُوءِ الْقَضَاءِ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَ الْآخِرَةِ wa sū’i al-qaḍā’ fī al-dunyā wa al-ākhirah.
and the evil of the decree in the world and the Hereafter.
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِاسْمِكَ الْكَرِيمِ Allāhumma innī as’aluka bi-ismika al-karīm
O Allah, I ask You by Your Noble Name,
وَ عَرْشِكَ الْعَظِيمِ وَ مُلْكِكَ الْقَدِيمِ wa ‘arshika al-‘aẓīm wa mulkika al-qadīm
and Your Great Throne, and Your Ancient Dominion,
يَا وَهَّابَ الْعَطَايَا وَ يَا مُطْلِقَ الْأُسَارَى yā wahhāba al-‘aṭāyā wa yā muṭliqa al-usārā
O Giver of gifts, and O Releaser of captives,
وَ يَا فَكَّاكَ الرِّقَابِ وَ يَا كَاشِفَ الْعَذَابِ wa yā fakkāka al-riqāb wa yā kāshifa al-‘adhāb
and O Redeemer of necks (from slavery/Fire), and O Remover of punishment,
أَسْأَلُكَ أَنْ تُخْرِجَنِي مِنَ الدُّنْيَا سَالِماً غَانِماً as’aluka an tukhrijanī min al-dunyā sāliman ghānimā
I ask You to take me out of the world safe and successful,
وَ أَنْ تُدْخِلَنِي الْجَنَّةَ بِرَحْمَتِكَ آمِناً wa an tudkhilanī al-jannata bi-raḥmatika āminā
and to admit me into Paradise with Your mercy, secure,
وَ أَنْ تَجْعَلَ أَوَّلَ شَهْرِي هَذَا صَلَاحاً wa an taj‘ala awwala shahrī hādhā ṣalāḥan
and to make the beginning of this month of mine righteousness,
وَ أَوْسَطَهُ فَلَاحاً وَ آخِرَهُ نَجَاحاً wa awsaṭahu falāḥan wa ākhirahu najāḥan
and its middle success, and its end prosperity.
إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ عَلَّامُ الْغُيُوبِ Innaka anta ‘allāmu al-ghuyūb.
Indeed, You are the Knower of the unseen.
اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ اللَّهُ وَ أَنْتَ الرَّحْمنُ الرَّحِيمُ وَ أَنْتَ الْمَلِكُ الْقُدُّوسُ وَ أَنْتَ [اللَّهُ] السَّلامُ الْمُؤْمِنُ وَ أَنْتَ الْمُهَيْمِنُ وَ أَنْتَ
الْعَزِيزُ وَ أَنْتَ الْجَبَّارُ وَ أَنْتَ الْمُتَكَبِّرُ وَ أَنْتَ الْخالِقُ وَ أَنْتَ الْبارِئُ وَ أَنْتَ الْمُصَوِّرُ وَ أَنْتَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ وَ أَنْتَ الْأَوَّلُ وَ الْآخِرُ وَ الظَّاهِرُ وَ الْباطِنُ لَكَ الْأَسْمَاءُ الْحُسْنَى أَسْأَلُكَ يَا رَبِّ بِحَقِّ هَذِهِ الْأَسْمَاءِ وَ بِحَقِّ أَسْمَائِكَ كُلِّهَا أَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ عَلَى آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آتِنا اللَّهُمَ فِي الدُّنْيا حَسَنَةً وَ فِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَ اخْتِمْ لَنَا بِالسَّعَادَةِ وَ الشَّهَادَةِ فِي سَبِيلِكَ وَ عَرِّفْنَا بَرَكَةَ شَهْرِنَا هَذَا وَ يُمْنَهُ وَ ارْزُقْنَا خَيْرَهُ وَ اصْرِفْ عَنَّا شَرَّهُ وَ اجْعَلْنَا فِيهِ مِنَ الْفَائِزِينَ وَ قِنا بِرَحْمَ تِكَ عَذابَ النَّارِ يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ إِنَّكَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
Compassionate, the Merciful! And You are the Sovereign, the Holy One! And You
are the Sovereign, the Holy One, the Source of Peace (and Perfection), the
Guardian of Faith, the Preserver of Safety, the Exalted in Might, the Irresistible, the
Supreme. You are the Creator! And You are the Evolver! And You are the
Bestower of Forms! And You are Exalted in Might, the Wise! And You are the
First and the Last! The Apparent! The Hidden! To You belong the most Beautiful
Names. O‟ Lord! I ask You for the sake of these Names and for the sake of all
Your Names to bestow Your Blessings upon Muhammad and his Progeny (MGB)!
O‟ my God! Please grant us the good of this world, and the good of the Hereafter,
and make our end result in prosperity and martyrdom in Your Way. And show us
the blessedness and good omen of this month. O‟ God! Please bless us with its
goodness, safeguard us from any evil, and let us be amongst the saved ones during
it. Protect us from the chastisement of the Fire by Your Mercy. O‟ the Most
Compassionate, Most Merciful! You have power over all things.”
Then Say this
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعالَمِينَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي خَلَقَ السَّماواتِ وَ الْأَرْضَ وَ جَعَلَ الظُّلُماتِ وَ النُّورَ ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا بِرَبِّهِمْ يَعْدِلُونَ هُوَ الَّذِي خَلَقَكُمْ مِنْ طِينٍ ثُمَّ قَضى أَجَلًا وَ أَجَلٌ مُسَمًّى عِنْدَهُ ثُمَّ أَنْتُمْ تَمْتَرُونَ وَ هُوَ اللَّهُ فِي السَّماواتِ وَ فِي الْأَرْضِ يَعْلَمُ سِرَّكُمْ وَ جَهْرَكُمْ وَ يَعْلَمُ ما تَكْسِبُونَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَنْزَلَ عَلى عَبْدِهِ الْكِتابَ وَ لَمْ يَجْعَلْ لَهُ عِوَجاً قَيِّماً لِيُنْذِرَ بَأْساً شَدِيداً مِنْ لَدُنْهُ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي لَهُ ما فِي السَّماواتِ وَ ما فِي الْأَرْضِ وَ لَهُ الْحَمْدُ فِي الْآخِرَةِ وَ هُوَ الْحَكِيمُ الْخَبِيرُ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ فاطِرِ السَّماواتِ وَ الْأَرْضِ جاعِلِ الْمَلائِكَةِ رُسُلًا أُولِي أَجْنِحَةٍ مَثْنى وَ ثُلاثَ وَ رُباعَ يَزِيدُ فِي الْخَلْقِ ما يَشاءُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ ما يَفْتَحِ اللَّهُ لِلنَّاسِ مِنْ رَحْمَةٍ فَلا مُمْسِكَ لَها وَ ما يُمْسِكْ فَلا مُرْسِلَ لَهُ مِنْ بَعْدِهِ وَ هُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي هَدانا لِهذا وَ ما كُنَّا لِنَهْتَدِيَ لَوْ لا أَنْ هَدانَا اللَّهُ لَقَدْ جاءَتْ رُسُلُ رَبِّنا بِالْحَقِ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي وَهَبَ لِي عَلَى الْكِبَرِ إِسْماعِيلَ وَ إِسْحاقَ إِنَّ رَبِّي لَسَمِيعُ الدُّعاءِ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لا يَعْلَمُونَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي نَجَّانا مِنَ الْقَوْمِ الظَّالِمِينَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي فَضَّلَنا عَلى كَثِيرٍ مِنْ عِبادِهِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ سَيُرِيكُمْ آياتِهِ فَتَعْرِفُونَها وَ ما رَبُّكَ بِغافِلٍ عَمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَذْهَبَ عَنَّا الْحَزَنَ إِنَّ رَبَّنا لَغَفُورٌ شَكُورٌ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي صَدَقَنا وَعْدَهُ وَ أَوْرَثَنَا الْأَرْضَ نَتَبَوَّأُ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ حَيْثُ نَشاءُ فَنِعْمَ أَجْرُ الْعامِلِينَ وَ تَرَى الْمَلائِكَةَ حَافِّينَ مِنْ حَوْلِ الْعَرْشِ يُسَبِّحُونَ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّهِمْ وَ قُضِيَ بَيْنَهُمْ بِالْحَقِّ وَ قِيلَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعالَمِينَ فَلِلَّهِ الْحَمْدُ رَبِّ السَّماواتِ وَ رَبِّ الْأَرْضِ رَبِّ الْعالَمِينَ وَ لَهُ الْكِبْرِياءُ فِي السَّماواتِ وَ الْأَرْضِ وَ هُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي لَمْ يَتَّخِذْ وَلَداً وَ لَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ شَرِيكٌ فِي الْمُلْكِ وَ لَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ وَلِيٌّ مِنَ الذُّلِّ وَ كَبِّرْهُ تَكْبِيراً
“O‟ my God! You are God and You are the Then recite: “Praise be to God-the Cherisher and Sustainer of the worlds;”1
“Praise be to Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth, and made the
darkness and the light. Yet those who reject Faith hold (others) as equal, with
their Guardian-Lord. He it is created you from clay, and then decreed a stated
term (for you). And there is in His presence another determined term; yet ye
doubt within yourselves! And He is Allah in the heavens and on earth. He
knoweth what ye hide, and what ye reveal, and He knoweth the (recompense)
which ye earn (by your deeds).”2 “Praise be to God Who hath sent to His
Servant the Book, and hath allowed therein no Crookedness: (He hath made it)
Straight (and Clear) in order that He may warn (the godless) of a terrible
Punishment from Him...”34 “Praise be to God!, to Whom belong all things in
the heavens and on earth: to Him be Praise in the Hereafter: and He is Full of
Wisdom, acquainted with all things.”5 “Praise be to God!, Who created (out of
nothing) the heavens and the earth, Who made the angels, messengers with
wings,- two, or three, or four (pairs): He adds to Creation as He pleases: for
Allah has power over all things. What Allah out of his Mercy doth bestow on
mankind there is none can withhold: what He doth withhold, there is none can
grant, apart from Him: and He is the Exalted in Power, full of Wisdom.”6
