Shaykh al-Kaf`ami, in al-Balad al-Amin, has mentioned a supplicatory prayer that is reported from Imam Musa al-Kazim (`a), commenting that it of great importance and it achieves swiftness in response:

اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَطَعْتُكَ فِي أَحَبِّ ٱلأَشْيَاءِ إِلَيْكَ

allahumma inni ata`tuka fi ahabbi al-ashya'i ilayka
O Allah, I have certainly obeyed You in the most beloved thing to You,

وَهُوَ ٱلتَّوْحِيدُ

wa huwa alttawhidu
which is Your Oneness.

وَلَمْ أَعْصِكَ فِي أَبْغَضِ ٱلأَشْيَاءِ إِلَيْكَ

wa lam a`sika fi abghadi al-ashya'i ilayka
I have not disobeyed you in the most hateful thing to You,

وَهُوَ ٱلْكُفْرُ

wa huwa alkufru
which is atheism.

فَٱغْفِرْ لِي مَا بَيْنَهُمَا

faghfir li ma baynahuma
So, (please do) forgive me all that which lies between these two.

يَا مَنْ إِلَيْهِ مَفَرِّي

ya man ilayhi mafarri
O He to Whom is my alternative,

آمِنِّي مِمَّا فَزِعْتُ مِنْه إِلَيْكَ

aminni mimma fazi`tu minhu ilayka
(please do) secure me against that from which I have escaped to You.

اَللَّهُمَّ ٱغْفِرْ لِيَ ٱلْكَثِيرَ مِنْ مَعَاصِيكَ

allahumma ighfir liya alkathira min ma`asika
O Allah, forgive me the many acts of disobedience to You that I have committed

وَٱقْبَلْ مِنِّيَ ٱلْيَسِيرَ مِنْ طَاعَتِكَ

waqbal minni alyasira min ta`atika
and accept from me the few acts of obedience to You that I have done.

يَا عُدَّتِي دُونَ ٱلْعُدَدِ

ya `uddati duna al`udadi
O my one and only expedient!

وَيَا رَجَائِي وَٱلْمُعْتَمَدُ

wa ya raja'i walmu`tamadu
O my Hope and my Reliance!

وَيَا كَهْفِي وَٱلسَّنَدُ

wa ya kahfi walssanadu
O my Shelter and my Support!

وَيَا وَاحِدُ يَا أَحَدُ

wa ya wahidu ya ahadu
O One! O One and Only!

يَا قُلْ هُوَ ٱللَّهُ أَحَدٌ

ya qul huwa allahu ahadun
O “Say: He, Allah, is One.

ٱللَّهُ ٱلصَّمَدُ

allahu alssamadu
Allah is He on Whom all depend.

لَمْ يَلِدْ وَلَمْ يُولَدْ

lam yalid wa lam yulad
He begets not, nor is He begotten.

وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ كُفُواً أَحَدٌ

wa lam yakun lahu kufwan ahadun
And none is like Him.”

أَسْأَلُكَ بِحَقِّ مَنِ ٱصْطَفَيْتَهُمْ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ

as'aluka bihaqqi man istafaytahum min khalqika
I pray You, in the name of those whom You had selected from among Your beings

وَلَمْ تَجْعَلْ فِي خَلْقِكَ مِثْلَهُمْ أَحَداً

wa lam taj`al fi khalqika mithlahum ahadan
after You never created their examples amongst all of Your beings,

أَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِهِ

an tusalliya `ala muhammadin wa alihi
to bless Muhammad and his Household,

وَتَفْعَلَ بِي مَا أَنْتَ أَهْلُهُ

wa taf`ala bi ma anta ahluhu
and to do to me all that which suits You.

اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِٱلْوَحْدَانِيَّةِ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ

allahumma inni as'aluka bilwahdaniyyati alkubra
O Allah, I verily pray You in the name of the Grand Oneness,

وَٱلْمُحَمَّدِيَّةِ ٱلْبَيْضَاءِ

walmuhammadiyyati albayda'i
the White Mohammedanism,

وَٱلْعَلَوِيَّةِ ٱلْعُلْيَا

wal`alawiyyati al`ulya
the Elevated `Alawism,

وَبِجَميعِ مَا ٱحْتَجَجْتَ بِهِ عَلَىٰ عِبَادِكَ

wa bijami`i ma ihtajajta bihi `ala `ibadika
in the name of all that which You have used as arguments against Your servants,

وَبِٱلاِسْمِ ٱلَّذِي حَجَبْتَهُ عَنْ خَلْقِكَ

wa bilismi alladhi hajabtahu `an khalqika
and in the Name that You have concealed from Your creatures

فَلَمْ يَخْرُجْ مِنْكَ إِلاَّ إِلَيْكَ

falam yakhruj minka illa ilayka
and thus it has never left You save that under Your permission

صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمِّدٍ وَآلِهِ

salli `ala muhammadin wa alihi
(I pray You by all these) to send blessings to Muhammad and his Household,

وَٱجْعَلْ لِي مِنْ أَمْرِي فَرَجاً ومَخرَجاً

waj`al li min amri farajan wa makhrajan
make for me relief and exit as regarding my affair,

وَٱرْزُقْنِي مِنْ حَيْثُ أَحْتَسِبُ

warzuqni min haythu ahtasibu
and grant me sustenance from whence I expect

وَمِنْ حَيْثُ لاَ أَحْتَسِبُ

wa min haythu la ahtasibu
and from whence I do not expect.

إِنَّكَ تَرْزُقُ مَنْ تَشَاءُ بِغَيْرِ حِسَاب

innaka tarzuqu man tasha'u bighayri hisabin
Verily, You give sustenance to whom You please without measure.
