Al-Ridha (a.s.) also said, Whenever my father (a.s.) left the house he (a.s.) said:-:
In the Name of God the Beneficent, the Merciful. I left home using Gods Strength and Power, and not by my own strength and power. O Lord! I am seeking sustenance provided by Thee. Then please grant it to me along with health. |
FROM "BAQIYATUS SALEHAT" These are eight prayers to be said before one leaves his house:
First: Imam al-diq (`a) is reported to have said: say the following words 3 times just before leaving. If he does, he will be kept under the custody of Allah swt until He returns him to the place he has left:
allhu akbaru |
Allah is the Most Great. |
Then, repeat the following statement three times:
billhi akhruju |
I leave (putting my trust) in Allah, |
wa billhi adkhulu |
I return (putting my trust) in Allah, |
wa `al allhi atawakkalu |
and on Allah do I depend. |
Then, say the following statement, yet one time only:
allhumma ifta l f wajh hdh bikhayrin |
O Allah, (please) grant me easiness in the beginning of this affair of mine, |
wakhtim l bikhayrin |
seal it for me with easiness, |
wa qin sharra kulli dbbatin anta khidun biniyatih |
and guard me against the evil of every living creature that You hold by its forelock. |
inna rabb `al irin mustaqmin |
Surely, my Lord is on the right path. |
Second: Imam al-Sajjd (`a) is reported to have said: At the door of your house just before you leave it, you may say the following words:
bismillhi wa billhi |
In the Name of Allah (I begin) and in Allah (I trust). |
tawkkaltu `al allhi |
I put my trust in Allah. |
Third: Imam al-Bqir (`a) is reported to have said: Whoever says the following statement when he leaves his house, Almighty Allah will save him from whatever of his this-worldly and otherworldly affairs that concern him:
bismillhi |
In the Name of Allah (I begin). |
asbiya allhu |
Sufficient to me is Allah. |
wa tawakkaltu `al allhi |
I put my trust in Allah. |
allhumma inn as'aluka khayra umr kullih |
O Allah, I beseech You for success in all of my affairs |
wa a`dhu bika min khizyi aldduny wa `adhbi al-khirati |
and I pray Your protection against disgrace in this world and chastisement in the Hereafter. |
Fourth: Imam al-diq (`a) is reported to have said: Whenever you leave your house, you are advised to say the following prayer:
bismillhi |
In the Name of Allah (I begin). |
tawakkaltu `al allhi |
In Allah I put my trust. |
l awla wa l quwwata ill billhi |
There is neither might nor power except with Allah. |
allhumma inn as'aluka khayra m kharajtu lah |
O Allah, I beseech You for success in what I am leaving to do |
wa a`dhu bika min sharri m kharajtu lah |
and pray Your protection against failure in what I am leaving to do. |
allhumma awsi` `alayya min falika |
O Allah, (please) expand Your favors to me, |
wa atmim `alayya ni`mataka |
make perfect Your graces to me, |
wasta`miln f `atika |
dedicate me to obedience to You, |
waj`al raghbat fm `indaka |
make me desire for what You have in possession, |
wa tawaffan `al millatika wa millati raslika |
and cause me to die carrying the principles You have instructed and the principles of Your Messenger, |

may Allah bless him and his Household. |

bismillhi alrramn alrrami |
In the Name of Allah; the All-beneficent, the All-merciful. |
kharajtu biawli allhi wa quwwatih |
I am leaving by the might and power of Allah, |
l biawlin minn wa quwwat |
but not by my own might or power; |
bal biawlika wa quwwatika y rabbi |
rather, by the might and power of You, O Lord, |
muta`arrian lirizqika |
seeking Your sustenance. |

wa sallimn wa sallim m ma`iya |
keep me safe and keep safe whatever is with me, |
