In addition to the etiquettes at the Holy Vault, this section comprises the details of visiting Imam al-Mahd the Argument of Allah against His the servants, the left by Allah in His lands, the well-guided leader, al-ujjah the son of al-asan, and the Patron of the Age. Allahs blessings be upon him and his fathers.
Before indulging into this topic, it seems necessary to draw attentions to a matter which I have quoted in my book of Hadiyyat al-Z'ir from the book of al-Taiyyah. This holy vault is part of the house of Imam al-Hd and Imam al-`Askar (`a). Before the construction of the new building (i.e. the courtyard, shrine, and dome), the entrance to the vault was situated behind the tomb of the holy Imams near the tomb of Lady Narjis (Narjis Khtn), which may now be in the portico. In the past, this entrance to the vault descended to a long dark way ending at a door that lied in the center of the Occultation Vault. In the present day, this vault is decorated with mirrors. To the side of the kiblah direction, there is a window taking to the courtyard of the shrine of the two holy Imams. The place of the former door is marked by the picture of the niche, which is decorated with Qshn bricks. Visiting of the three Imams were made in one shrine; therefore, we can notice that al-Shahd al-Awwal, in his book of al-Mazr, follows up the ziyrah of Imam al-Hd and Imam al-`Askar with the ziyrah of the holy vault and then refers to the ziyrah of Lady Narjis. A hundred and a few years ago, Amad Khn al-Dunbul, the supported and guided by God, prepared himself for reconstructing the entire building. He therefore spent a huge amount of money on separating the courtyard of the holy shrine of the two Imams from the holy vault and then constructed the building, portico, and lofty dome of the vault. For the holy vault, he established a private courtyard, hall, entrance, and vestibule. He also built another vault specially for women, as is seen in the present day. As a result, the features of whatever was before the entrance, scale, and door were effaced and all the traces of that place were obliterated [Except the place that is currently known as Bayt al-Akhbriyyn.] and the place of some traditional etiquettes was also obliterated. However, the origin of the holy vault, which is the place of a set of forms of ziyrah, has been kept unchanged.
However, the etiquette of asking permission of entering the holy vault is not canceled due to the blocking of the former entrance, because, generally, every visit to any holy shrine must be preceded by a form of asking permission of entrance, as is concluded from narrations. Moreover, we can observe that master scholars have declared that it is necessary to ask permission before entering any gate of a shrine of one of the Holy Imams that people used to take in entering that place.
Ziarat ALE YASIN &
Ziarat SIRDAAB 1 Ziarat Sirdaab 2
Ziarat After Fajr Salwaat on
Imam
According to traditions, the form of asking permission to enter the holy vault is the ziyrah form that will be mentioned soon. It begins with the following statement:
alssalmu `alayk y khalfata allhi |
Peace be upon you, O vicegerent of Allah |
wa khalfata b'ih almahdiyyna |
and vicegerent of your well-guided fathers |
This form of ziyrah ends with a form of asking permission of entrance to the holy vault. It is said at the door of the vault before coming down there.
Sayyid Ibn ws has mentioned another form of asking permission of entrance (i.e. isti'dhn), whose statements are similar to the first general form of asking permission, which has been mentioned in Chapter Two of this section of Forms of Ziyrah.
As to `Allmah al-Majlis, he has mentioned another form, which he reports from an ancient book on forms of ziyrah. This form begins with the following statement:
allhumma inna hdhih buq`atun ahhartah |
O Allah, this is verily an area that You have purified |
wa `aqwatun sharraftah |
and a courtyard that You have honored |
This form has been also previously mentioned immediately after the first general form of asking permission. You may refer to and say it before coming down to the holy vault.
You may then come down to the holy vault and visit Imam al-Mahd (`a) with the formula of ziyrah that is reported from him according to the report of the sublime Shaykh Amad ibn Ab-lib al-abris in his book of al-Itijj, as follows:
Ziarat Aale -Yasin & the Dua after آلِ يـٰس |
Ziarat Aal-e-Yaseen is another important Ziarat of Imam-e-Zaman(a.s.). It is actually a Hadith Qudsi (direct saying of Allah(swt)) as reported in Mafatih-al-Jinnan. According to the traditions, "Aal-e-Yaseen" is equivalent to "Aal-e-Muhammad(pbuh&hf)" and is the correct pronunciation (Qira'at) of verse 37:130 of the Holy Quran. Beside its superb beauty, one of the interesting points about this Duaa is that, in it, we confess all the central beliefs one by one. This ziyrah is reported from Shaykh Amad ibn Ab-lib al-abris in his book of al-Itijj, as follows:

O my master, while I am visiting you, I am standing |

in the position of the repentant wrongdoers, |
alkh'ifna min `iqbi rabbi al`lamna |

and I am, meanwhile, depending upon your intercession for me |
wa rajawtu bimuwltika wa shaf`atika |
and I, through my loyalty to you and your intercession for me, wish for |

So, O my master, (please) help meyour servant |

O Allah, (please) bless Muammad and his Household |

and fulfill Your promise to Your Vicegerent. |

O Allah, (please) support him with powerful support |

and relieve the grief through him. |

O Allah, (please) spread security over the lands through him |

and guide the servants (of You) through him. |
allhumma imla bih al-ara `adlan wa qisan |
O Allah, (please) fill the earth with justice and equality through him |

Verily, You are All-hearing and Responding. |
alssalmu `alayka y waliyya allhi |
Peace be upon you, O Allahs vicegerent. |

(please) permit me, your servant, to enter your sanctuary. |

May Allahs blessings be upon you |
wa `al b'ika alhirna |
and upon your immaculate fathers. |
wa ramatu allhi wa baraktuh |
Allahs mercy and benedictions be upon you. |
You may then come to the Occultation Vault and stop between the two doors, holding the doors side with your hand. You may then hem and haw, as if you are seeking permission of entrance, and say these words:
bismillhi alrramni alrrami |
In the Name of Allah; the All-beneficent, the All-merciful. |
You may now come down with tranquility and present-heartedness. Offer a two-unit prayer in the yard of the vault and say the following words:
allhu akbaru allhu akbaru allhu akbaru |
Allah is the Most Great. Allah is the Most Great. Allah is the Most Great. |

Allah is the Most Great and to Allah be all praise. |

but Allah would not allow but that His light should be perfected, despite their contempt. |

I bear witness that Allah has chosen you since you were little |

When Shaykh al-Mufd mentioned the aforesaid form of ziyrah that begins with the following words:
allhu akbaru allhu akbaru allhu akbaru |
Allah is the Most Great. Allah is the Most Great. Allah is the Most Great. |
l ilha ill allhu |
There is no god save Allah |
he (i.e. Shaykh al-Mufd), commenting, said the following: According to another way of narration, you may say the following words while descending to the holy vault:
alssalmu `al alaqqi aljaddi |
Peace be upon the fresh truth |
wal`limi alladh `ilmuh l yabdu |
and the knowledgeable whose knowledge never expires |
So, he referred to the previously mentioned form of ziyrah up to the end. He then said:
You may now offer the twelve-unit prayer of ziyrah, separating between each two units with a Taslm statement.
You may then say the following prayer, which is reported from Imam al-Mahd (`a) himself:

This prayer is of a high esteem; it is therefore advisable to repeat it in the holy sanctuary of Imam al-Mahd (`a) as well as other places. I have previously mentioned it in the first section of the book, yet with little difference is statements.
Sayyid Ibn ws has instructed the following:You may offer a two-unit prayer and then say the following words:
salmu allhi alkmilu alttmmu |
Peace of Allahperfect, complete, |
alshshmilu al`mmu |
comprehensive, and thorough |
This form of ziyrah can be found in the first section of this book (pp. 458, Vol. 1) under the title: Seeking Aid From Imam al-Mahd (Al-Istighthah bil-ujjah.) as quoted from the book of al-Kalim al-ayyib.
In his book of Mib al-Z'ir, Sayyid Ibn ws has dedicated a chapter to the devotional acts at the holy vault where he has mentioned six forms of ziyrah. He then said: Attached to this chapter are the Supplication of Lamentation (Du`' al-Nudbah), the ziyrah form that is said every day after the Fajr (dawn) Prayer, which is the seventh form of ziyrah, the supplication known as Du`' al-`Ahd (Supplication of the Covenant) which we have been ordered to say in the Occultation Age, and the prayer that is said when we intend to leave that holy sanctuary.
Sayyid Ibn ws then starts mentioning these rites. Patterning after him, let us mention these rites in this blessed book:
The following form of ziyrah of our master the Patron of the Age is advisably said after every Fajr (dawn) Prayer:
allhumma balligh mawlya iba alzzamni |
O Allah, (please) convey to my master the Patron of the Age, |

Allahs blessings be upon him, |

O Allah, this is my allegiance to him that is involved in my neck |

up to the Resurrection Day. |
In his book of Bir al-Anwr, `Allmah al-Majlis has said the following: In some ancient books, I found the following instruction mentioned after this form of ziyrah: You may then slap your right hand on the left as if you are swearing allegiance.
It is worth mentioning that in the previously mentioned rites at the Holy Vault, I have referred to four forms of ziyrah. This one is considered the fifth form mentioned in this book. In the first section (i.e. volume) of this book, I have also mentioned another form of ziyrah of Imam al-Mahd (`a) in Chapter Five: Forms of Ziyrah of the Holy Infallibles on the Days of the Week; Ziyrah on Fridays (pp. 203 of Vol. 1).
Sayyid Ibn ws says: When you intend to leave the holy sanctuary of Imam al-Mahd (`a), you may return to the sublime vault and offer as many prayers as you wish therein. You may then stand up, turn your face towards the kiblah direction, and say this prayer:
allhumma idfa` `an waliyyika |
O Allah, defend Your vicegerent etc. |
You may then pray Almighty Allah as much as you can and leave with happiness, Allah willing.
As for Shaykh al-s, he, in his book of Mib al-Mutahajjid, reported this prayer from Imam al-Ri (`a) within the rites on Fridays. Hereinafter, I will record this prayer according to the narration of Shaykh al-s, who said:
It is narrated from Ynus ibn `Abd al-Ramn that Imam `Al ibn Ms al-Ri, peace be upon him, used to order his companions and adherents to say the following prayer for sake of Imam al-Mahd. Besides, it is strongly recommended to say it after the ziyrah of Imam al-Mahd, peace be upon him. The prayer is as follows: Mp3 new
allhumma idfa` `an waliyyika |
O Allah, (please do) defend Your vicegerent, |

walmaajjata al`um |
the greatest Path, |
walarqata alwus |
and the equitable way of life |
allat yarji`u ilayh alghl |
to which those who had gone too far will come back (repentant) |
wa yalaqu bih alttl |
and those who had fallen down will catch up. |
wa qawwin `al `atih |
And (please) encourage us to carry out acts of obedience to him, |
wa thabbitn `al mushya`atih |
make us stand firmly in following him, |
wamunu `alayn bimutba`atih |
endue us with the favor of adherence to him, |
waj`aln f izbih alqawwmna bi'amrih |
and include us with his group who achieve his commands, |
albirna ma`ah |
act steadfastly towards him, |
allibna rika bimunaatih |
and seek Your pleasure by means of acting sincerely to him, |
att tashuran yawma alqiymati f anrih |
so that You will gather us on the Resurrection Day with his supporters, |
wa a`wnih wa muqawwiyati sulnih |
backers, and those who consolidate his authority. |
allhumma waj`al dhlika lan |
O Allah, make us do all these things |
khlian min kulli shakkin wa shubhatin |
free from any doubt, confusion, |
wa riy'in wa sum`atin |
ostentation, and seeking of reputation |
att l na`tamida bih ghayraka |
so that we will rely upon none save You |
wa l naluba bih ill wajhaka |
and seek none save Your sake |
wa att tuillan maallah |
and that You will put us up in his vicinity |
wa taj`alan filjannati ma`ah |
and place us with him in Paradise. |
wa a`idhn min alssa'mati walkasali walfatrati |
And (please) protect us against weariness, laziness and lethargy |
waj`aln mimman tantairu bih lidnika |
and include us with those whom You take up for backing Your religion |
wa tu`izzu bih nara waliyyika |
and for increasing the victory of Your vicegerent. |
wa l tastabdil bin ghayran |
Do not put others in our places, |
fa'inna istibdlaka bin ghayran `alayka yasrun |
because it is easy for You to put others in our places, |
wa huwa `alayn kathrun |
but it is extremely difficult for us if You do it. |
allhumma alli `al wulti `ahdih |
O Allah, send blessings upon his representatives |
wal-a'immati min ba`dih |
and the leaders after him, |
wa ballighhum mlahum |
make them attain their wishes, |
wa zid f jlihim |
increase their lifetimes, |
wa a`izza narahum |
support their victory, |
wa tammim lahum m asnadta ilayhim min amrika lahum |
make perfect for them Your orders that You bid them to carry out, |
wa thabbit da``imahum |
strengthen their pillars, |
waj`aln lahum a`wnan |
and make us their helpers |
wa `al dnika anran |
and supporters of Your religion. |
fa'innahum ma`dinu kalimtika |
They are the essence of Your Words, |
wa khuzzanu `ilmika |
the hoarders of Your knowledge, |
wa arknu tawdika |
the pillars of the profession of Your Oneness, |
wa da`'imu dnika |
the posts of Your religion, |
wa wultu amrika |
the authorities of Your commands, |
wa khliatuka min `ibdika |
the choices over Your servants, |
wa afwatuka min khalqika |
the well-chosen ones from among Your creatures, |
wa awliy'uka wa sal'ilu awliy'ika |
the vicegerents of You, the offspring of Your vicegerents, |
wa afwatu awldi nabiyyika |
and the selected descendants of Your Prophet. |
walssalmu `alayhi wa `alayhim |
Peace be upon him and them. |
wa ramatu allhi wa baraktuh |
Allahs mercy and blessings, too, be upon them. |
