(i) al Kaafiroon  (ii) al Ikhlas  (iii) al Falaq  (iv) an Naas

According to Imam Musa bin Jafar al Kazim, to remove worries, recite any 100 verses of the holy Quran and at the end recite 3 times :

Allah saves him from the worries he is afflicted with.
Allah did not destroy Firwan in his house because BISMILLAAAHIR RAH'MAANIR RAH'EEM was written on his door.

According to Imam Muhammad bin Ali al Baqir the Ahl ul Bayt used to recite the following du-a'a to seek safety from Allah whenever worries troubled them :

O the (ever) existing who is a priori to all existence; O the creator (who says be and it becomes) of all things, O the everlasting eternal even when everything (created) shall perish:
Send blessings on Muhammad and his children and do for me (mention your desire here)

YAA KAAA-INAN QABLA KULLI SHAY -IN WA YAA MUKAWWINA KULLI SHAY -IN WA YAA BAAQIYA BA'DA KULLI SHAY -IN S'ALLI ALA MUH'AMMADIN WA AHLI BAYTIHEE WAF-A'L BEE

SUBH'AANALLAAHIL A'Z'EEMI WA BIH'AMDIHEE ASTAGHFIRULLAAAHAA WA AS-ALUHOO MIN FAZ'LIHEE

Imam Jafar bin Mohammad as Sadiq advised his followers to recite the following du-a'a to remove worries

I enumerate the merits of all that which are glorious and magnificent (to know that) there is no god save Allah; and for (removal of) pains and sorrows there is no power nor strength (in any) save in Allah. Muhammad is the first light, Ali the second light; and all the pious Imams (of the Ahlul Bayt) are a means to reach the presence of Allah and a protection from the enemies of Allah. All things are dwarfed in presence of the greatness of Allah. I seek sufficient (support) from Allah, the mighty, the glorious.

A'-DADTU LIKULLI A'Z'EEMATIN LAA ILAAHA ILLALLAAHU WA LIKULLI HAMMIN WA GHAMMIN LAA H'AWLA WA LAA QUWWATA ILLAA BILLAAH MUH'AMMADUN NOORUL AWWALU WA A'LIYAUN NOORUTH THAANEE WAL A-IMMATUL ABRAARU U'DDATUN LILIQAAA-ILLAAHI WA H'IJAABUN MIN A-DAAA-ILLAAHI D'ALLA KULLI SHAY-IN LI-A'Z'AMATILLAAHI WA AS-ALULLAAHA A'ZZA WA JALLAL KIFAAYAH

Recite the following du-a'a to remove worries

O Allah, if my sins have blackened my face, I turn to You through Your prophet, Muhammad, the prophet of mercy, blessings of Allah be on him and on his children, (and through) Ali, Fatimah, Hasan, Husayn and the (rest of the) Imams (of the Ahl ul Bayt), peace be on all of them.

ALLAAHUMMA IN KAANAT D'UNOOBEE QAD AKHLAQAT WAJHEE I'NDAKA FA INNEE ATAWAJJAHU ILAYKA BI NABIYYIKA NABIYYIR RAH'MATI MUHAMMADIN S'ALLALLAAHU A'LAYHI WA AALIHEE WA A'LIYYIN WA FAAT'IMATA WALAH'ASANI WAL H'USAYNI WAL A-IMMATI A'LAYHIMUS SALAAM

Recite the following verse 129 of al Bara at to remove worries:

Allah suffices me. There is no god but He. On Him do I rely, and He is the Lord of the great throne.

H'ASBIYALLAAHU LAAA ILAAHA ILLAA HUW A'LAYHI TAWAKKALTU WA HUWA RABBUL A'RSHIL A'Z'EEM.

To remove worries and obtain satisfaction of legitimate desires pray a 4 raka-at salat in 2 sets of two rak-ats each.

In the first rak-at after recitation of al Fatihah, recite 25 times verse 44 of al Mumin:

I entrust my affair to Allah, verily, Allah keeps an eye on (His) servants.

WA UFAWWIZ'U AMREE ILALLAAH INNALLAAHA BAS'EERUM BIL IBAAD

In the second rak-at after recitation of al Fatihah recite 25 times verse 87 and 88 of al Anbiya:

There is no god save You. Glory be to You. Verily I was of there unjust. Then We responded to him and delivered him from grief, thus do We deliver the believers.

LAA ILAAHA ILLAAA ANTA SUBH'AANAKA INNEE KUNTU MINAZ'Z'AALIMEEN FAS-TAJABNAA LAHOO WA NAJJAYNAAHU MINAL GHAMM WA KAD'AALIKA NUNJIL MOOMINEEN

In the third ra-kat after recitation of al Fatihah recite 25 times the following portion of verse 173 of Ali Imran:

Allah is sufficient for us; and most excellent is He (who) protects us.

H'ASBUNALLAAHU WA NI' MAL WAKEEL

In the fourth rakat after recitation of al Fatihah, recite

There is no power and no strength save with Allah the high, the great.

LAA H'AWLA WA LAA QUWWATA ILLAA BILLAAHIL A'LIYYIL A'Z'EEM

After the recitation of salam, recite salawat 25 times and then invoke Allah to fulfill your desires.

Imam Jafar bin Mohammad as Sadiq advised his followers to pray a 6 rak-at salat in sets of 2 rakat each and at the end recite the following du-a'a

O Allah, give us welfare from wheresoever You desire, as You wish and when You want. Verily You do that which You find satisfying because it pleases You.

ALLAAHUMMA AATINEE BIN A'AFIYATI MIN H'AYTHU SHI-TA WA KAYFA SHI-TA WA ANNAA SHI-TA FA-INNAKA TAF-A'LU MAA SHI-TA KAYFA SHI-TA

To remove all difficulties, worries and troubles recite following du-a-a by Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib

O Allah, verily You, unto those who love You, are more loving than any who loves; You are ever at hand to fulfill atonce the desires of those who rely on You; You take notice of their wishes, You perceive their innermost thoughts, You know the depth of their intelligence. You are fully aware of their confidential concerns. There hearts long for (relief from) You. Whenever miserable and forsaken Your remembrance comfort them in distress. Whenever misfortunes assult them, they turn to You, knowing well that the reins of all affairs are in Your hand and every affair rise from and flow out as soon as Your decision is made. O my Allah, if I falter in speaking my request and wander astray in describing my needs and wants, show me the way that leads to that which promotes my interests and turn my heart to its course, because it is neither against (the principles of) Your guidance nor Your act of giving succour can be described as unlikely.
O my Allah, support me with Your pardon, do not burden me with Your justice.

ALLAAHUMMA INNAKA ANNISUL AANEESEENA LI-AWLIYAA-IKA WA AH'Z"URUHUM BIL KIFAAYATI LIL MUTAWAKKILEENA A'LAYKA TASHHADUHUM FEE SARRA-IRIHIM WEA TAT'T'ALI-U FEE Z"AMAA--IRIHIM WA TA'LAMU MABLAGHA BAS'AA-IRIHIM FA-ASRAARUHUM LAKA MAKSHOOFATUN WA QULOOBUHUM ILAYKA MALHOOFATUN IN AWH'ASHAT-HUMUL GHURBATU AANASAHUM D'IKRUKA WA IN S'UBBAT A'LAYHIMUL MAS'AA-IBU LAJAAA-U ILAL ISTIJAARATI BIKA I'LMAN BI-ANNA A'Z'EEMATAL UMOORI BIYADIKA WA MAS'AADIRAHAA A'N QAZ" AAA-IKA ALLAAHUMMA IN FAHAH-TU MAS-ALATEE AW A'MIHTU A'N T'ALIBATEE FADULLANEE A'LAA MAS'AALIH'EE WA KHUD' BIQALBEE ILAA MARAASHIDEE FA LAYSA D'AALIKA BINUKRIN MIN HIDAAYATIKA WA LAA BIBAD-I'N MIN KIFAAYATIKA ALLAAHUMMAH-MALNEE A'LAA A'FWIKA WA LAA TAH'MILNEE A'LAA A'DLIKA

The following dua'a by Imam Ali Ibn abi Talib should be written in saffron and tied on the right arm for safety from all calamities, troubles, wickedness and sorcery.

Ikaynoosh Arkanoosh Arahshash Atbeetasfanee Yaa Mattaroon Qaryaalaysiyoon Maawamaa Soomah Soomaa Taytasaloos Khabtoos Musfaqees Masaa Ma-oosh Afartee-oosh Lateefa Kash Lateefoosh-this (and) this-and you were not (present) in the western side when We sent our command to Musa, neither you were there to witness. O accursed, go away by the power of Allah, and by the honour of the Lord of the worlds. Get out imprisoned. Get out from this. It is not for you to show pride here, so get out, verily you are of those despised. Get out of this, despised, driven away; accursed as We cursed the people of the Sabbath, and the command of Allah is always executed. Get out, O afflicted. Get out O Sooran O Sooran in the name of that name which is kept secret, O Tataaroon Taroon Mar-oon. Blessings be for Allah who is the best creator. O Hayaa, O Hayaa, in the name of the everliving ever-subsisting name which is written on the forehead of Israafeel disappear at once from the holder of this written text, (whoever it may be) a genie (male or female), a devil (male or female) or a follower of (the devil, male or female), a sorcerer or sorcersess, a demon (male or female), a juggler or a trickster, whoever endangers the lives of the sons of Adam and daughters of Hawwaa. Removal of Worries
1
O Reliever of worry! O Remover of grief!
1
2
O Merciful in this world and the next and Compassionate in both!
2
3
Bless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad,
3
4
relieve my worry, and remove my grief!
4
5
O One, O Unique, O Eternal Refuge!
5
6
O He Who has not begotten, nor has been begotten,
6
7
and equal to Him is not any one!
7
8
Preserve me, purify me, and take away my affliction!
8
9
HERE YOU SHOULD RECITE THE THRONE VERSE (2:255), THE TWO SURAS OF TAKING REFUGE (113-114), AND UNITY (112). THEN SAY:
9
10
O God, I ask Thee with the asking of him whose neediness is intense,
10
11
whose strength is frail, whose sins are many,
11
12
the asking of one who finds no helper in his neediness,
12
13
no strengthener in his frailty,
13
14
no forgiver of his sin other than Thee,
14
15
O Possessor of majesty and munificence!
15
16
I ask of Thee a work through which Thou wilt love him who works it
16
17
and a certainty by which Thou wilt profit him who is certain
17
18
with the truth of certainty concerning the execution of Thy command!
18
19
O God, bless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad,
19
20
take my soul while it is firm in sincerity,
20
21
cut off my need for this world,
21
22
make my desire for what is with Thee
22
23
become a yearning to meet Thee,
23
24
and give me true confidence in Thee!
24
25
I ask of Thee the good of the writ that has been made and I seek refuge with Thee
25
26
from the evil of the writ that has been made.
26
27
I ask of Thee the fear of The worshipers,
27
28
the worship of those humbly fearful of Thee,
28
29
the certainty of those who have confidence in Thee,
29
30
and the confidence of those who have faith in Thee.
30
31
O God, make my desire in my asking
31
32
like the desire of Thy friends in their asking,
32
33
and my fear like the fear of Thy friends!
33
34
Employ me in Thy good pleasure through works
34
35
in which I will not leave aside anything of Thy religion
35
36
fearing any of Thy creatures!
36
37
God, this is my need, so make my desire for it great,
37
38
within it make manifest my excuse, through it instil me with my argument, and by means of it make well my body!
38
39
O God, some rise in the morning having trust or hope in other than Thee.
39
40
I rise in the morning, and Thou art my trust
40
41
and my hope in all affairs,
41
42
so decree for me those which are best in outcome
42
43
and deliver me from misguiding trials,
43
44
O Most Merciful of the merciful!
44
45
And God bless our chief, Muhammad the Messenger of God, the chosen,
45
46
and his Household, the pure!

  DUAS FROM SAHIFA RADHVIA

8) Supplication in Prostration at the Time of Distress   Imam Reza (a.s.) has narrated this supplication:

While feeling weakness or involved in any trouble and tired of misfortunes then go into prostration and put first your right cheek and then left cheek on the earth and every time recite:

O Humiliator of all tyrants! O Dignifier of all humble ones! I, swearing by You, have exerted all efforts; so, send blessings upon Muhammad and his Household and relieve me.[1]

yaa mozilla kulle jabbaarin aneedin yaa o-izza kulle zaleelin qad wa haqqeqa balagha majhoodee fa-salle alaa mohammadin wa aalehi wa farrij annee.

Eight Supplications for Safety from Worries and Troubles

(1) Supplication to be Attentive Towards Allah and Protecting Oneself in the Market

Imam Reza (a.s.) narrates: The Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) said: Anyone who says while entering the market will be given as many rewards as Allah has created til the Resurrection Day.[1]

Glory be to Allah, Praise be to Allah, there is no god but Allah, He is One and there are no partners for Him, He is Living, and He will not die, all good is through Him, and He has power over all things

subhaanal laahe wal hamdo lillaahe wa laa elaaha illal laaho wahdahu laa shareeka lahu lahul mulko wa lahul hamdo yohyee wa yomeeto wa howa hayyun laa yamooto beyadehil khayro wa howa alaa kulle shayin qadeer.

(2) Supplication for the Protection from Different Troubles

Hisham ibn Saalim narrates, I heard Imam Reza (a.s.) saying: Whoever recites:

لَا حَوْلَ وَ لَا قُوَّةَ اِلَّا بِاللهِ الْعَلِيِّ الْعَظِيْمِ.

laa hawla wa laa quwwata illaa billaahil aliyyil azeem.

There are no means and no power without Allah the Most High, the Most Great.

the Almighty Allah will keep him safe from seventy types of troubles, minimum of which is self-dejection.[2]

(3) Supplication for Protection from Troubles in Journey

To remain safe from different troubles and hardships during journey, beseech Allah (s.w.t.) by the right of Imam Reza (a.s.) and supplicate thus:

allaahumma innee as-aloka be-haqqe waliyyeka aliy yibne moosar rezaa illaa maa sallamtanee behi fee jamee-e asfaaree fil baraaree wal behaare wal jebaale wal qefaare wal aw-deyate wal gheyaaze min jamee-e maa akhaafohu wa ahzarohu innaka raoofur raheem.

O Allah! I implore You in by the right of Your friend, Ali Ibn Moosa al-Reza (a.s.) to secure me during my journeys; in lands and seas, on mountains and in plains, in valleys and in jungles, against all that which I fear or anticipate. Certainly You are All-Kind and All-Merciful.[3]

(4) Supplication from Imam Reza (a.s.) for Remaining Protected During Journey

Sayed Ibn Taaoos (r.a.) says, I have mentioned in the book al-Asraar al-Mooda-ah Fee Saa-aat al-Lail wa al-Nahaar that every hour of the day has been attributed with an infallible Imam (a.s.) and there are two particular supplications for that hour, out of which one has been narrated by my grand father Shaikh Toosi (r.a.) and the other one has been narrated by the chain of Ibn Maqlah:

The first hour is attributed to Imam Ali Ibn Abi Taalib (a.s.), second hour with Imam Hasan (a.s.), third hour with Imam Husain (a.s.), fourth hour with Imam Sajjad (a.s.), fifth hour with Imam Mohammad Baqir (a.s.), sixth hour with Imam Jafar al-Sadiq (a.s.), seventh hour with Imam Moosa Kazim (a.s.), eight hour with Imam Ali Reza (a.s.), ninth hour with Imam Jawad (a.s.), tenth hour with Imam Hadi (a.s.), eleventh hour with Imam Hasan Askari (a.s.) and the twelfth hour has been attributed to our master Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.).

Sayed ibn Taaoos (r.a.) says that one should recite the supplication which is attributed to the said hour. It makes no difference if it is summer during which days are longer or it is winter when the days are shorter. The days should be allotted twelve hours and one should recite the duas attributed to that particular hour.

So when you set for a journey at a particular hour recite this supplication which is attributed to an infallible Imam (a.s.):

allaahumma balligh mawlaanaa folaanan salawaatul laahe alayhe innanee osallemo alayhe wa innanee atawajjaho elayhe be-iqbaaleka alayhe fee an yakoona khafaaratee wa hemaayatee wa salaamatee wa kamaalo sa-aadatee zamaanahaa beka alayhe hayso qad tawajjahto fis saa-atil latee ja-altahu kal-khafeere feehaa wa hadeesehaa fee zaaleka elayhe.

O Allah! Convey to our master, so and so, Allahs blessings be upon him, that I send salutation upon him, and I turn towards him for Your closeness to him, to be my guardian, my protector, my safety and complete happiness because of the guarantee on him by You, certainly when I turned to him in the hour which You have appointed him as the guard in it and protector towards it.

When you reach to your destination at a specified hour, recite the supplication to which that hour has been attributed to one of the infallible Imam (a.s.) or when you want to restart from that place, send salutation on that Imam (a.s.) as if you are close to him and while addressing him say that I declare you as custodian at this hour. Had the Almighty Allah not wanted you to do that work, He would have not guided you towards it. When you acted in this manner and recited the related supplication then all your movements and staying shall be considered as worship and will be caused for your bliss and good luck in the Hereafter.[4]

(5) Supplication while Leaving the House for the Protection from Troubles

Ali ibn Asbaat has narrated from Imam Reza (a.s.):

When you come out of your house for a journey or arrive home say,

bismil laahe aamanto bil-laahe tawakkalto alal laahe maa shaa allaaho laa hawla wa laa quwwata illaa billaah.

In the name of Allah, I believe in Allah, I place my trust in Allah, as Allah wills. There are no means and no power without Allah.

Devils are on his way but they move away; the angels strike their faces and say, You have no way to him. He has spoken of the name of Allah, has belief in Him, placed his trust in Him and has said, What Allah wills happens. There are no means and no power without Allah.[5]

(6) Another Supplication while Leaving the House

Halabi narrated on the authority of Imam Sadiq (a.s.) that he (a.s.) said:

Whenever my honourable father was coming out of the house he would say,

bismil laahe kharajto wa bismil laahe walajto wa alal laahe tawakkalto wa laa hawla wa laa quwwata illaa bil-laahil aliyyil azeem.

In the name of Allah, I have come out, in the name of Allah, I enter, in Allah I have placed my trust, and there are no means and no power without Allah the Most High, the Most Great.

Muhammad ibn Sinan says that Imam Reza (a.s.) also used to recite this supplication while leaving the house.[6]

(7) Supplication for Protection in the Night

The brother of Debil Khuzaee narrated: My master Imam Reza (a.s.) has narrated on the authority if his honourable father Imam Moosa Kazim (a.s.) who says:

I heard from my father Imam Jafar al-Sadiq (a.s.) that he recommended to recite this dua (for the protection) in the night:

When evening comes, we spend the evening, and Kingdom became Allahs; the One and All-Omnipotent, and all praise is for Allah, Lord of the worlds, Who has taken away the day and brought the night and we are in safety from it. O Allah! This is new creation which has certainly wraped us, then whatever good I have done in it make it easy and available, increase it many folds, and whatever evil I have done in it then overlook it with Your Mercy. I did evening while I do not own anything except what I hope, and I defend evil for which I fear, my affair is in the hands of other, and I did evening while I depend upon my earning, and I did evening in the condition that nobody is poorer than me, so remove my poorness with Your wealth for what You have written upon Yourself piety till the time I remain, and honour till I die, and patience till You test me, and blessing in what you bestow, and determination upon Your obedience till my remaining life, and thankfulness to You in what You have blessed me.[7]

(8) Tasbeeh of Janab-e-Faatemah Zahra (s.a.) and Aayatul Kursee for Protection from Troubles

Imam Reza (a.s.) said:

Two brothers came to the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) and said: O Prophet of Allah (s.a.w.a.) please teach us any invocation as we intend to go to Syria for business.

The Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) advised them: Whenever you reach at your destination recite Tasbeeh of Faatemah Zahra (s.a.) and Aayatul Kursee after performing Isha prayer and before going to sleep.

When they left Madinah the thieves followed them. When they stayed at a destination, the thieves sent their slave to see what those young men are doing?

The slave told the thieves that they are sleeping.

Both the young men were sleeping after performing Isha prayer and thereafter reciting Tasbeeh of Janab-e-Faatemah Zahra (s.a.) and Aayatul Kursee. Again the slave came to see the brother so as to inform the thieves about them. Suddenly, the slave saw walls surrounding the brothers.

He came back to the thieves and told them the story.

The thieves said: You are not telling the truth due to fear. When the thieves went themselves they also didnt see anything but walls.

The next morning the thieves went to the brothers and said: We wanted to steal your goods but last night we didnt see anything but walls.

The brothers told them the whole story and the thieves said: We will not follow you anymore because with what you say nobody can rob you of your goods.[8]

Chapter 13   Eight Supplications for Getting Deliverance from Hardships

(1) Supplication for Getting Deliverance from Hardships

Sayed Ibn Taaoos (r.a.) reports: I got a supplication from the supplications of Imam Reza (a.s.) which I found from the original treatise of Yunus Ibn Bukair. Yunus says that I requested my master Imam Reza (a.s.) to teach me a supplication which I could recite in difficulties and hardships. The Imam (a.s.) said: O Yunus! Whatever I write for you, memorise it and recite it at the time of hardships it will be accepted and for whatever you will wish you will get. Then he (a.s.) wrote for me:

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.

O Allah! My many sins have made me lose face before You, prevented me from being worthy of Your mercy, and kept me away from deserving Your forgiveness! I have adhered to Your boons and clung to supplicating You, for You have promised those who are like me in acting extravagantly (against their own souls), making errors, and despairing of Your mercy through Your words: Say: O My servants who have acted extravagantly against their own souls, do not despair of the mercy of Allah; surely Allah forgives the faults altogether; surely He is the Forgiving, the Merciful.[9] You have warned those who despair of Your mercy and said: And who despairs of the mercy of his Lord but the erring ones.[10] Then You have summoned us through Your mercy to supplicate You, thus You have said: Call upon me, I will answer you; surely those who are too proud for My mercy shall soon enter hell abased.[11] O my Lord! Hopelessness has covered me, and despair of Your mercy has wrapped me! O my Lord! You have promised to reward him who has good opinion in You and to punish him who has bad opinion in You! O Allah! My eye has been seized by good opinion of You in releasing my neck from the Fire, covering my slips, releasing (me) from my stumble! O Allah! Your words, which have neither alteration nor change, are true: (Remember) the day when We will call every people with their Imam.[12] That is the Day of Resurrection when the trumpet shall be blown and what is in the graves shall be raised.[13] O Allah! I believe, witness, confess, do not deny, do not renege, conceal, announce, manifest, and hide that You are Allah, there is no god but You, One with no partner with You, that Muhammad is Your servant and messenger, may Allah bless him and his Family, and that Ali, the Commander of the faithful, master of the testamentary trustees, inheritor of knowledge of the prophets, emblem of religion, destroyer of the hypocrites, the fighter against the Renegades (Maareqeen), my Imam, my proof, my handle, my path, my guide, and my argument. I do not trust my deeds though pure; nor do I see that they will save me though righteous but through (showing) friendship to him, following his example, acknowledging his great virtues, accepting from those who delivered them, and submitting to those who narrated them. I confess that his testamentary trustees from among his grandsons are Imams, arguments, guides, lamps, guideposts, lighthouses, masters, and pious. I believe in their secret, their openness, their outward, their inward, their present, their absent, their living, and their dead. In that there is neither doubt nor suspicion nor change when You turn away (from that). O Allah! summon me on the day of my mustering and my resurrecting through their Imamate, and save me, O My Master! From the heat of the Fires through them, and supply me with the repose of the Gardens! Surely, if You release me from the Fire, I will be one of the achievers. O Allah! I rose in the morning of this day of mine (while) I have neither confidence nor hope nor asylum nor place of flight nor shelter except those through whom I seek access to You, seeking nearness to Your Messenger Muhammad, may Allah bless him and his Family, then Ali, the Commander of the faithful, al-Zahra, the mistress of the women of the worlds, al-Hasan, al-Husain, Ali, Muhammad, Jafar, Moosa, Ali, Muhammad, Ali, al-Hasan and the one after them who will pave the way for the hidden proof from among his children, hoped for the community after him. O Allah! Make them in this day and after it my fortress against detested things and my stronghold against fears; save me through them from every enemy, tyrant, oppressor, sinner, the evil of what I know, what I deny, what has hidden from me, what I see, and the evil of every crawling creature that You have taken by the forelock! Surely You are on a straight path. O Allah! Through my seeking access through them to You, seeking nearness to You through showing love for them, fortifying myself with their Imamate, open for me the doors to Your provision; spread upon me Your mercy; make Your creatures love me; turn me aside from their detest and their enmity! Verily You are powerful over everything. O Allah! There is reward for everyone (who) seek access (through them to You); there is right for all the possessors of intercession, hence by him whom You have appointed as Your friend and placed ahead my request, I ask You to make me recognize the blessing of this day of mine, this month of mine, and this year of mine! O Allah! They are my place of flight and my help during my hardship, my ease, my well-being, my tribulation, my sleep, my wakefulness, my departure, my residence, my difficulty, my facility, my openness, my secret, my morning, my evening, my movement, my habitation, my secret, and my apparent! O Allah! Through them, disappoint me not of Your favor; cut not my hope from Your mercy; disappoint me not of Your repose; tempt me not with the closure of the doors to provisions and of the ways to them; open for me an easy opening from You; appoint for me a way out from every hardship and a road for every plenty! Surely, You are the Most Merciful of the merciful. May Allah bless Muhammad and his good and pure Household! Amen, Lord of the worlds![14]

(2) Supplication for the Time of Extreme Tribulations

Sayed Ibn Taaoos (r.a.) quotes from the book Tabeer al-Roayaa (by Muhammad Ibn Yaqoob Kulaini): Ahmad, on the authority of Washshaa, who on the authority of Imam Reza (a.s.), narrates that he (a.s.) said:

I saw my honourable father in dream while he (a.s.) said to me: O my son! Recite

yaa ra-oofo yaa raheemo.

O Compassionate, O Merciful.

a lot whenever you come in contact with an extreme tribulation. Whatever I had seen in the dream was as if I have seen it in wakefulness.[15]

(3) Supplication for Deliverance from Every Pain and Disease

Khalid al-Absiyy said: Ali ibn Moosa (a.s.) taught me this invocation and said:

Teach it to your brothers among the believers, for it is for every ache:

اُعِيْذُ نَفْسِيْ بِرَبِّ الْاَرْضِ وَ رَبِّ السَّمَاءِ اُعِيْذُ نَفْسِيْ بِالَّذِيْ لَا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهٖ دَاءٌ اُعِيْذُ نَفْسِيْ بِالَّذِيْ اسْمُهٗ بَرَكَةٌ وَ شِفَاءٌ.

o-eezo nafsee be-rabbil arze wa rabbis samaaa-e o-eezo nafsee bil-lazee laa yazurro ma-as mehi daa-un o-eezo nafsee bil-lazis mohu baraktun wa shefaaun.

I seek protection for myself in the Lord of the earth and the Lord of the heavens. I seek protection for myself in Him with Whose Name no disease causes harm. I seek protection for myself in Him Whose Name is a blessing and a healing.[16]

(4) Another Invocation for Deliverance from Each Pain and Disease

Zakariyya ibn Adam, who used to serve Imam Reza (a.s.) in Khorasan, said: One day Imam Reza (a.s.) said to me:

O Zakariya.

I answered: At your service, O son of the Messenger of Allah. He (a.s.) said:

Recite for all illnesses:

يَا مُنْزِلَ الشِّفَاءِ وَ مُذْهِبَ الدَّاءِ اَنْزِلْ عَلٰى وَجَعِيَ الشِّفَاءِ.

yaa munzelash shefaaa-e wa muzhebad daa-e anzil alaa waja-eyash shefaa-e.

O Bestower of healing and Remover of illness, send down healing for my ailment.[17]

You will be restored to health, Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, willing.

(5) Supplication for Relief from Eye Corrosion

Moammar Ibn Khallaad narrates:

I was with Imam Reza (a.s.) and was made responsible for household purchases while he (a.s.) ordered me to bring Ghaaleyah (a kind of perfume). When I purchased it and presented it to Imam Reza (a.s.), he liked it very much and said to me:

O Moammar! No doubt as winking of eyelashes is certain, write Surah-e-Hamd, Surah Ahad, Surah Naas, Surah Falaq and Aayatul Kursee on a piece of paper and keep it in a pot. (To get relief from Eye Corrosion).[18]

(6) Supplication for Waiving Out Magic and Sorcery

Muhammad Ibn Eesaa reports: I asked Imam Reza (a.s.) about magic and sorcery. He (a.s.) said:

Such a thing does exist and it is harmful also, whenever you come in contact with such a thing then by the Will of Almighty Allah raise your hands before your face and recite this dua:

بِسْمِ اللهِ الْعَظِيْمِ بِسْمِ اللهِ الْعَظِيْمِ رَبِّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِیْمِ اِلَّا ذَہَبْتَ وَ انْقَرَضْتَ.

bismil laahil azeeme bismil laahil azeeme rabbil arshil azeeme illaa zahab-ta wan qarazta.

In the name of Allah, the Great, in the name of Allah, the Great, Lord of the Mighty Throne, but that it left and perished.[19]

(7) Supplication for Cure from Fever

It has been narrated from Imam Reza (a.s.) that in order to get relief from fever, write this dua in the manner given hereunder and keep it with the ailing person:[20]

In the name of the Beneficent. We said: O fire! Be a comfort and peace to Ibrahim and the progeny of Ibrahim. And blessing upon Muhammad and the progeny of Muhammad, and upon so-and-so son of so-and-so by the permission of Allah.

(8) Supplication for Finding Missing Thing   Image

Imam Reza (a.s.) narrates: Whenever anything is lost or taken away from you then recite this verse:

WA INDAHU MAFAATEHUL GHAYBE LAA YALAMOHAA ILLAA HOO, WA YALAMO MAA FIL BARRE WAL BAHR, WA MAA TASQOTO MINW WARAQATIN ILLAA YALAMOHAA WA LAA HABBATIN FEE ZOLOMAATIL ARZE WA LAA RATBINW WA LAA YAABESIN ILLAA FEE KETAABIM MOBEEN.

With Him are the keys of the unseen, the treasures that none knows but He. He knows whatever there is on the earth and in the sea. Not a leaf does fall but with His knowledge: there is not a grain in the darkness (or depths) of the earth, nor anything fresh or dry (green or withered), but is (inscribed) in a record clear (to those who can read).[21]

Then recite this dua:

allaahumma innaka tahdee menaz zalaalate wa tunjee menal amaa wa tarudduz zaallata salle alaa mohammadin wa aale mohammadin wagh fir lee wa rudda zaal-latee wa salle alaa mohammadin wa aalehi wa sallam.

O Allah! You guide one who is misguided and You save from blindness, and return the lost property. Bless Muhammad and his progeny and forgive me and return to me my lost property and bless Muhammad and his progeny and peace (be upon them).[22]
