It is reported through authentic sources that Imam Zainul Abideen(as) used to recite the following Salawat every day in Sha`ban at the time sun passes the merdian (waqt-e-Zawal) and on the night of 15th Sha`ban.
اللّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
allahumma salli `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin
O Allah: (please do) send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad—
شَجَرَةِ النُّبُوَّةِ،
shajarati alnnbuwwati
the tree of Prophethood;
وَمَوضِعِ الرِِّسَالَةِ،
wa mawzi`i alrrisalati
and the trustees of the (Divine) Mission;
وَمُخْتَلَفِ الْمَلائِكَةِ،
wa mukhtalafi almala’ikati
and the frequently visited by the angels;
وَمَعْدِنِ الْعِلْمِ،
wa ma`dini al`ilmi
and the core of knowledge;
وَأَهْلِ بَيْتِ الْوَحْيِ.
wa ahli bayti alwahai
and the Household of the Divine Revelation.
اللّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
allahumma salli `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin
O Allah: (please do) send blessings upon Muhammad and the Family of Muhammad—
الْفُلْكِ الْجَارِيَةِ فِي اللُّجَجِ الْغَامِرَةِ،
alfulki aljariyati fa allujaji alghamirati
the sailing ships through the abysmal waves.
يَأْمَنُ مَنْ رَكِبَهَا،
yamanu man rakibaha
He who embarks on them will be saved
وَيَغْرَقُ مَنْ تَرَكَهَا،
wa yaghraqu man tarakaha
but he who abandons them will be drowned.
الْمُتَقَدِّمُ لَهُمْ مَارِقٌ،
almutaqaddmu lahum mariqun
He who precedes them will miss the Right Path
وَالْمُتَأَخِّرُ عَنْهُمْ زَاهِقٌ،
wal-mutakhkhru `anhum zahiqun
and he who misses them will lose,
وَاللازِمُ لَهُمْ لاحِقٌ.
wal-lazimu lahum lahiqun
but he who adheres to them will win.
اللّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
allahumma salli `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin
O Allah: (please do) send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad—
الْكَهْفِ الْحَصِينِ،
alkahfi alhasani
the impregnable shelter;
وَغِيَاثِ الْمُضْطَرِّ الْمُسْتَكِينِ،
wa ghiyathi almuztarr almustakani
and the succorers of the helpless, distressed ones;
وَمَلْجَاَ الْهَارِبِينَ،
wa malja alharibana
and the haven of the fugitives;
وَعِصْمَةِ الْمُعْتَصِمِينَ.
wa `ismati almu`tasimana
and the asylum of those who seek refuge.
اللّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
allahumma salli `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin
O Allah: (please do) send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad
صَلاةً كَثِيرَةً تَكُونُ لَهُمْ رِضاً،
salatan katharatan takunu lahum rizan
so much blessings that please them
وَلِحَقِّ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ أَدَاءً وَقَضَاءً
wa lihaqq muhammadin wa ali muhammadin ada‘an wa qaza‘an
and settle all (our) duties towards Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad
بِحَوْلٍ مِنْكَ وَقُوَّةٍ يَا رَبَّ الْعَالَمِينَ.
bihawlin minka wa quwwatin ya rabb al`alamana
by Your might and power; O the Lord of the worlds.
اللّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
allahumma salli `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin
O Allah: (please do) send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad—
الطَّيِّبِينَ الأَبْرَارِ الأَخْيَارِ،
alttayyibana alabrari al-akhyari
the pure, the pious, the righteous
الَّذِينَ أَوْجَبْتَ حُقُوقَهُمْ،
alladhana awjabta huquqahum
whose rights have been made incumbent upon us by You
وَفَرَضْتَ طَاعَتَهُمْ وَوِلايَتَهُمْ.
wa farazta ta`atahum wa wilaiyatahum
and the obedience to whom has been deemed obligatory upon us by You and whose (divinely commissioned) leadership has been (also) deemed obligatory upon us by You.
اللّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
allahumma salli `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin
O Allah: (please do) send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad;
وَاعْمُرْ قَلْبِي بِطَاعَتِكَ،
wa a`mur qalby bita`atika
and fill in my heart with the obedience to You;
وَلا تُخْزِنِي بِمَعْصِيَتِكَ،
wa la tukhziny bima`siyatika
and do not disgrace me by acts of disobedience to You;
وَارْزُقْنِي مُوَاسَاةَ مَنْ قَتَّرْتَ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ رِزْقِكَ
warzuqny mwasata man qattrta `alayhi min rizqika
and grant me the feeling of sympathy towards those whom You have decided to straiten their sustenance
بِمَا وَسَّعْتَ عَلَيَّ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ،
bima wa ss`ta `alayy min fazlika
by means of Your favors that You have decided to make expansive for me
وَنَشَرْتَ عَلَيَّ مِنْ عَدْلِكَ،
wa nasharta `alayy min `adlika
and by means of that with which You have covered me out of Your fairness;
وَأَحْيَيْتَنِي تَحْتَ ظِلِّكَ،
wa ahiyaytany tahta zillka
and make me live under Your shade. Charity image
وَهذَا شَهْرُ نَبِيِّكَ سَيِّدِ رُسُلِكَ
wa hadha shahru nabiyyka sayyidi rusulika
This is the month of Your Prophet and the Master of Your Messengers.
شَعْبَانُ الَّذِي حَفَفْتَهُ مِنْكَ بِالرَّحْمَةِ وَالرِّضْوَانِ
sha`banu alladhy hafaftahu minka bilrrahmati wal-rrizwani
It is Sha`ban, which You have encompassed with Your mercy and pleasure,
الَّذِي كَانَ رَسُولُ اللّهِ صَلَّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَدْأَبُ فِيصِيَامِهِ وَقِيَامِهِ
alladhy kana rasulu allahi salla allahu `alayhi wa alihi wa sallama yad’abu fa saamihi wa qaamihi
and on which the Messenger of Allah—peace and blessings be upon him and his Family—used to observe fasting painstakingly and used to spend it with acts of worship
فِي لَيَالِيهِ وَأَيَّامِهِ
fa layalahi wa ayyamihi
on all of its days and nights
بُخُوعاً لَكَ فِي إكْرَامِهِ وَإعْظَامِهِ إلَى مَحَلِّ حِمَامِهِ.
bukhu`an laka fa ikramihi wa i`zamihi ila mahall himamihi
on account of Your honoring and dignifying this month, up to his death.
اللّهُمَّ فَأَعِنَّا عَلَى الإسْتِنَانِ بِسُنَّتِهِ فِيهِ،
allahumma fa`inna `ala alastinani bisunntihi fahi
O Allah: (please do) help us follow the example of him (i.e. the Holy Prophet as regards the honoring of this month)
وَنَيْلِ الشَّفَاعَةِ لَدَيْهِ.
wa nayli alshshfa`ati ladayhi
and help us attain nearness to him.
اللّهُمَّ وَاجْعَلْهُ لِي شَفِيعاً مُشَفَّعاً،
allahumma waj`alhu la shafa`an mushaffa`an
O Allah: (please do) decide him as my interceder (before You) whose intercession for me is acceptable
وَطَرِيقاً إلَيْكَ مَهْيَعاً،
wa taraqan ilayka mahiya`an
and as my clear path toward You;
وَاجْعَلْنِي لَهُ مُتَّبِعاً حَتَّى أَلْقَاكَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ عَنِّي رَاضِياً،
waj`alny lahu muttbi`an hatta alqaka yawma alqaamati `anna raziyan
and make me follow him until I meet You on the Resurrection Day enjoying Your pleasure with me
وَعَنْ ذُنُوبِي غَاضِياً،
wa `an dhunuby ghaziyan
and Your overlooking my sins
قَدْ أَوْجَبْتَ لِي مِنْكَ الرَّحْمَةَ وَالرِّضْوَانَ،
qad awjabta la minka alrrahmata wal-rrizwana
and thus You will confer upon me with Your mercy and pleasure
وَأَنْزَلْتَنِي دَارَ الْقَرَارِ وَمَحَلِّ الأَخْيَارِ.
wa anzaltany dara alqarari wa mahall al-akhyari
and allow me to reside in the Eternal Abode and the Place of the Righteous.
