Pray a 2 Rak-a’t, after the recitation of Soorah Al Faatih’ah, recite any other Soorah. In the 2nd Rak-a’t, after the recitation of Soorah Al Faatih’ah, recite Soorah Al Ikhlaas 100 times. After the Salaam say 100 times "LAA ILAAHA ILLALLAAH"

Supplications for the 17th Night from Iqbaal Amaal

There are several narrations that include making major ritual ablutions (ghusl).

This is the night on which the two groups fought each other on the day of the Battle of Badr, and God gave victory to His Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم). Including the following some supplications from narrations are chosen.

The following supplications for the seventeenth night was found in old books of our companions:

سُبْحَانَ الْعَزِيْزِ بِقُدْرَتِهِ، الْمَالِك بِغَلَبَتِهِ

Glory be to God who is Exalted in Might due to His Power. Glory be to God who is Exalted in Might due to His Power.

الَّذِي لَا يَخْرُجُ شَئٌ عَنْ قَبْضَتِهِ، وَلَا أَمْرٌ إِلَّا بِيَدِهِ

He is the One from whose control nothing can escape. Nothing is decreed except by His Hand!

الَّذِي يَجُودُ مُبْتَدِئاً وَمَسْؤُولاً وَيَنْعَمُ مَعِيدًا، هُوَ الْحَمِيدُ الْمَجِيْد

He bestows without being asked, and with being asked. He continues His blessings. He is the Praised, the Noble

نَحْمَدَهُ بِتَوْفِيقِهِ، فَنِعَمُهُ بِذَلِكَ جُدُدٌ لَا تُحْصَى، وَنُمَجِّدَهُ بِآلَائِهِ وَبدَلَالَاتِهِ فَأَيَادِيهِ لَا تُكَافَى

We praise Him when He gives us success! His blessings are new and uncountable. We glorify Him for His Bounties and for His Proofs that cannot be compensated for

وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّه الَّذِي يَمْلِكُ الْمَالِكِينَ، وَيُعِزُّ الْأَعْزَاء، وَيُذِّلُ الْأَذَلِّين

And praise be to God, Who rules the rulers, gives power to the powerful and debases the debased

اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنَّ هَذِهِ اللَّيْلَة لَيْلَةَ سَّبْعَ عَشْرَةٍ ، عَشْرَ وَهِي أَوَّلُ عُقُودَ الْأَعْدَاد، وَسَّبْعَ وَهِيَ شَرِيفَةَ الْآحَاد، لَاحِقَةٌ بِنَعْتِ سَّابِقِه

O my God! This is seventeenth night, ten is the first of the digits in the decades and seven is the most honoured of the single digits that is connected to it.

وَيْلٌ لِمَنْ أَمْضَاهُنَّ بِغَيْرِ حَقٍّ لَكَ يَا مَوْلَاه قَضَاك، وَلَا بِقُرْبٍ إِلَيْكَ أَرْضَاكَ

O Master! Woe be upon the one who lets this night pass without respecting Your Right and tries to please You in ways other than approaching You

وَأَنَا أَحَدٌ أَهْلُ الْوَيْل، صَدَّتَّنِي عَنْكَ بَطْنَةُ الْمَآكِلْ وَالْمَشَارِب

I am one such person since I have been held back from You by overeating and overdrinking

فَاطْرُد عَنِّي الْاِغْتِرَار، وَأَنْقِذْنِي وَانْفُ بِي عَلَى الْاِسْتِبْصَار، وَاحْفَظْنِي مِن يَدِ الْغَفْلَة وَسَلِّمْنِي إِلَى الْيَقْظَة

Please fend off delusions from me, save me and grant me good insight. And protect me against negligence, and secure me with awareness

بِسَعَادَةٍ مِنْكَ تُمْضِيهَا وَتَقْضِيهَا لِي، وَتُبَيِّضْ وَجْهِي لَدَيْك، وَتُزْلِفُنِي عِنْدَكْ

-with prosperity from Yourself which you endorse and destine for me and brighten my face near You and bring me closer to Yourself

يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِين، وَصلى اللهُ عَلَى مُحَمَّدِ النَّبِيّ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّم

O the most Compassionate, Most Merciful. Please bestow Your peace and blessings on Muhammad and his Household.

Sayyed Ibn Tawus in his book Iqbaal Amaal narrates the following supplication for the 17th Night of the Month of Ramadhan from the Holy Prophet صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم :

بِسْمِ الله الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيمِ

In the name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

اَللَّهُمَّ هذَا شَهْرُ رَمَضَانَ الَّذِي أَنْزَلْتَ فِيهِ الْقُرْآنَ

O my God! This is the month of Ramadhan in which you have revealed the Quran

وَأَمَرْتَ فِيهِ بِعِمَارَةِ الْمَسَاجِدِ وَالدُّعَاءِ وَالصِّيَامِ وَالْقِيَامِ وَضَمِنْتَ لَنَا فِيهِ الاِسْتِجَابَةَ

and ordered us to build mosques during it and pray, observe fasting and do acts of worship. You have guaranteed its fulfilment for us.

فَقَدِ اجْتَهَدْنَا وَأَنْتَ أَعَنْتَنَا فَاغْفِرْ لَنَا فِيهِ

We strove and You helped us. So please forgive us during it

وَلاَ تَجْعَلْهُ آخِرَ الْعَهْدِ مِنَّا وَاعْفُ عَنَّا فَإِنَّكَ رَبُّنَا وَارْحَمْنَا فَإِنَّكَ سَيِّدُنَا

and do not make this the last month of Ramadhan in our lifetime Pardon us as You are our Lord. Please have mercy upon us as You are our Master

وَاجْعَلْنَا مِمَّنْ يَنْقَلِبُ إِلى مَغْفِرَتِكَ وَرِضْوَانِكَ

Please let us be amongst those who return to Your Forgiveness and Your Pleasure,

بِحَقِّ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِهِ إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ الأَجَلُّ الأَعْظَمُ

For the sake of Muhammad and his Household, for verily You are the Great, the Grand.

Another Dua for the Night of the 17th of the Month of Ramadhan narrated from Imam Kadhim علیه السلام

يا صاحب محمد صلى الله عليه وآله يوم حنين، ويا مبير الجبارين ويا عاصم النبيين، أسألك بيس والقرآن الحكيم، وبطه وسائر القرآن العظيم، أن تصلي على محمد وآل محمد، وأن تهب لي الليلة تأييدا تشد به عضدي، وتسد به خلتي يا كريم، أنا المقر بالذنوب فافعل بي ما تشاء، لن يصيبني إلا ما كتبت لي، عليك توكلت وأنت حسبي، وأنت رب العرش الكريم.
اللهم إني أسألك خير المعيشة أبدا ما أبقيتني بلغة إلى انقضاء أجلي، أتقوى بها على جميع حوائجي، وأتوصل بها إليك من غير أن تفتنني بإكثار فأطغى أو بتقصير علي فأشقى، ولا تشغلني عن شكر نعمتك، وأعطني غنى عن شرار خلقك، وأعوذ بك من شر الدنيا وشر ما فيها.
اللهم لا تجعل الدنيا لي سجنا، ولا تجعل فراقها لي حزنا، أخرجني عن فتنها إذا كانت الوفاة خيرا لي من حياتي، مقبولا عملي إلى دار الحيوان، ومساكن الأخيار، وأعوذ بك من أزلها  وزلزالها وسلطانها وبغي بغاتها اللهم من أرادني فأراده، ومن كادني فكده، واكفني هم من أدخل علي همه، وصدق قولي بفعلي، وأصلح لي حالي، وبارك لي في أهلي ومالي وولدي وإخواني، اللهم اغفر لي ما مضى من ذنوبي، واعصمني فيما بقي من عمري حتى ألقاك وأنت عني راض

Ask for your needs then prostrate and say:

سجد وجهي الفاني البالي، الموقوف المحاسب، المذنب الخاطئ، لوجهك الكريم الباقي، الدائم الغفور الرحيم، سبحان ربي الأعلى وبحمده أستغفر الله وأتوب إليه

O companion of Muhammad and his Progeny on the day of the Battle of Hunain O Destoyer of the Oppressors, O Guardian of the Prophets. I ask You by Yasin & the rest of the grand Qur'an,full of Wisdom.'  And by 'Ta-Ha', and the rest_ofthe grand Qur'an. I ask You to bestow Your Blessings on Muhammad and hts Progeny (MGB) and bestow on me such strength on this night with which I may strengthen my hands and fulfill my needs. O' the All-Generous! I am confessing to my sins. Treat me as you please since I will get no more than what You have destined for me. In You I have placed my trust, and You are sufficient for me. And You are Lord of the Throne, the Benevolent! O' my God! I ask You for the best sustenance for as long as I live up until my death by which to attend all my needs, and come to You by using it -not so much as to make me rebellious, and not so little as to put me in hardship. I ask You to not to take away the opportunity to thank You for Your Blessings from me. Please grant me immunity from the evils of Your creatures. I take refuge in You from the evils of the world and whatever is in it! O' my God! Please do not make this world a prison for me, and do not make departure from it as a source of grief for me. Take me out of its sedition when it is the best time for my departure, with my deeds in this world accepted, into the House of Living and the Home of the Good people. I take refuge in You from its hardships, earthquakes, rule, and oppression of the oppressors! O' my God! Please wish bad for whoever wishes m~ bad, and plot against whoever plots against me. Please certify my words with my deeds, improve my conditions and bless my wife, wealth, children and brethren for me: O'_ my God! Please forgive-my past sins and protect me during the rest of my lifetime unttl I meet You with you pleased with me.

Then ask for the fulfillment of your needs. Then prostrate after the supplications and say the following in your prostration:

I prostrate my ephemeral, vanishing, sinful and wrong-doer face that shall be held for Reckoning for Your Noble Everlasting Oft forgiving merciful Face.

Another Dua for the" Day" of 17th of the Month of Ramadhan

اَللّٰهُمَّ لَا تَكِلْنِي إِلَى نَفْسِي طَرْفَةَ عَيْنٍ أَبَدًا،

O' my God! Please do not leave me to myself even for the twinkling of an eye.

وَ لَا تَحْوجنِي إِلَى أَحَدٍ مِنْ خَلْقِكْ، وَ ثَبِّتْ قَلْبِي عَلَى طَاعَتِكَ،

Please do not make me needy of any of Your creatures. Please establish my heart firmly on Your Obedience.

اَللّٰهُمَّ أَعْصِمْنِي بِحَبْلِكَ، وَارْزُقْنِي مِنْ فَضْلِكْ، وَ نَجِّنِي مِنَ النَّارِ بِعَفْوِكَ.

Protect me with Your Stronghold. O' God! Please bless me with the provisions of life according to Your Generosity, and save me from the Fire according to Your Forgiveness

اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ تَعْجِيلَ مَا تَعْجِيْلَهُ خَيْرٌ لِي، وَ تَأْخِيْرَ مَا تَأْخِيْرَهُ خَيْرٌ لِي

O' my God! I ask You to expedite what is good for me to expedite, and procrastinate what is good for me to procrastinate

اَللّٰهُمَّ مَا رَزَقْتَنِي مِنْ رِزْق، فَاجْعَلهُ حَلَالًا طَيِّبا فِي يُسْرٍ مِنْكَ وَ عَافِيَة.

O' my God! Please as to what You provide for me as sustenance, let it be pure and legitimately earned with ease and well-being for me provided by You.

اَللّٰهُمَّ سُدَّ فَقْرِي فِي الدُّنْيَا، وَاجْعَلْ غِنَايَ فِي نَفْسِي، وَاجْعَلْ رَغْبَتِي فِي مَا عِنْدَك

O' my God! Please prevent my poverty in this world, and give me self.-sufficiency, and let me be only inclined to what You possess

اَللّٰهُمَّ ثَبِّتْ رَجَاءَكَ فِي قَلْبِي، وَاقْطَعَ رَجَائِي عَنْ خَلْقِكَ،

O' my God! Please impress into my mind hope in and quest for You, and cut my hopes from others

. حَتَّى لَا أَرْجُوَ أَحَدًا غَيْرُكَ يَا رَبَّ الْعَالَمِين

till I turn to no one other than You. O' Lord of the worlds!

اَللّٰهُمَّ وَ فِي سَفَرِي فَاحْفَظْنِي، وَ فِي اَهْلِي فَاخْلُفْنِي،

O' my God! Please safeguard me during my journey, take care of my family

وَ فِيمَا رَزَقْتَنِي فَبَارِكْ لِي، وَ فِي نَفْسِي فَذِلِّلْنِي، وَ فَي أَعْيُنِ النَّاسَ فَعَظِّمْنِي،

and bless what You provide for my sustenance, belittle me in my own eyes and honor me in the eyes of the people.

وَ إِلَيْكَ يَا رَبِّ فَحَبِّبْنِي،

O' my Lord! Let me be loved by You

وَ فِي صَالِحِ الْأَعْمَالِ فَقَوِّنِي، وَ بِسُوءِ عَمَلِي فَلَا تَبْسِلْنِي،

and strengthen me to do good deeds and please do not punish me for my bad deeds

وَ بِسَرِيرِي فَلَا تَفْضَحْنِي، وَ بِقَدَرِ ذُنُوبِي فَلَا تُحْزِنِي،

Please do not disgrace me for my inner thoughts and do not make me ashamed of my sins.

وَ إِلَيْكَ يَا رَبِّ أَشْكُو غُرْبَتِي، وَ بُعْدَ دَارِي، وَ قِلَّةَ مَعْرِفَتِي، وَ هَوَانِي عَلَى النَّاسَ،

O' my Lord! I complain to You regarding my being strange, far away from home, my little knowledge, and my condemnation by the people

يَا اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِين.

O' the Most Compassionate, Most Mercifu
