Supplication of Imam Ja’far as-Sadiq (a.s.)    ( Source Tohfatul Hashmiya)

اَللَّهُمَّ احْرُسْنِيْ بِعَيْنِك الَّتِىْ لاَ تَنَامُ وَ اكْفِنِيْ بِرُكْنِكَ الَّذِىْ لاَ يُرَامُ، وَ اغْفِرْلِىْ بِقُدْرَتِكَ حَتّٰی لاَ اَهْلُكَ وَ اَنْتَ رَجَائِىْ، رَبِّ كَمْ مِنْ نِعْمَةٍ اَنْعَمْتَ بِهَا عَلَىَّ قَلَّ عِنْدَهَا شُكْرِىْ، وَ كَمْ مِنْ بَلِيَّةٍ اِبْتَلَيْتَنِيْ بِهَا قَلَّ لَكَ عِنْدَهَا صَبْرِىْ، فَيَا مَنْ قَلَّ مِنْ نِعْمَتِهِ شُكْرِىْ فَلَمْ يَحْرِمَنِيْ، وَ يَا مَنْ رَآنِيْ عَلٰی الْمَعَاصِىْ فَلَمْ يفْضَحْنِيْ، يَا ذَا الْمَعْرُوْفِ الَّذِىْ لاَ يَنْقَضِىْ مَعْرُوْفُهُ اَبَداً، وَ يَا ذَا النَّعْمَاءِ الَّتِىْ لاَ تُحْصِىْ عَدَدًا، اَسْاَلُكَ اَنْ تُصَلِّىَ عَلٰی مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ…

Allaahummah’ rusnee bi-a’inikallatee laa tanaamu wakfinee biruknikalladhee laa yuraam. Waghfirlee biqudratika h’attaa laa ahluka wa anta rajaa-ee. Rabbi kam min ni’matin an-a’mta bihaa a’layya qalla i’ndahaa shukree. Wa kam mim baleeyatin ibtalaitanee bihaa qalla laka i’ndahaa s’abree. Fayaaman qalla min ni’matihi shukree falam yah’rimnee. Wa yaa mar raa-anee a’lal maa’a’s’ee falam yafz”ah’nee. Yaa dhal ma’roofilladhee laa yanqaz”ee ma’roofuhu abadaa. yaa dhan ni’maa illatee laa tuh’see a’dadaa. As-aluka an tu’salli a’laa muh’ammadinw wa aali muh’ammad…

O Allah guard me by Your eye that does not sleep and suffice for me by Your support which does not decline and forgive me by Your power. For You are my Hope. My Lord how many bounties have You bestowed to me. And very less is my thankfulness for them. And how many tests You have put me through and how less was my patience for You in them. O One Who does not deprive me when my thankfulness for His bounties is less. Then O One Who does not degrade me when my patience is less during the tests put by Him. O One Who sees the mistakes but does not degrade me. O One Whose goodness is never reduced O One Whose bounties can never be calculated. Bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad…

وَ بِكَ اَدْراَ فِىْ نُحُوْرِ اْلاَعْدَاءِ وَ الْجَبَّارِيْنَ، اَللَّهُمَّ اَعِنِّيْ عَلٰی دِيْنِيْ بِالدُّنْيَا، وَ عَلٰى آخِرَتِىْ بِالتَّقْوٰی، وَ احْفَظْنِيْ فِيْمَا غَيْبَتَ عَنِّيْ، وَ لاَ تَكِلْنِيْ إِلٰی نَفْسِى فِيْمَا خَطَرْتُهُ عَلىَّ، يَا مَنْ لاَ تَضَرُّهُ الذُّنُوْبُ وَ لاَ تَنْقَصُهُ الْمَغْفِرَةُ، اغْفِرْ لِىْ مَا لاَ يَضُرَّكَ، وَ اعْطِنْيْ مَا لاَ يَنْقَصُكَ إِنَّكَ وَهَّابُ، اَسْاَلُكَ فَرَجًا قَرِيْباً وَ صَبْراً عَاجِلاً وَ رِزْقًا وَاسِعًا، وَ الْعَافِيَةَ مِنْ جَمِيْعِ الْبَلايَا يَا اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ.

Wa bika adraa fee nuh’ooril aa’daaa-i wal jabbaareen. Allaahumma aa’nnee a’laa deenee biddunyaa. Wa a’laa aakhiratee bittaqwa. Wa ah’faz’nee feema ghaibata a’nnee. Wa laa takilnee ilaa nafsee feemaa khat’artuhu a’lai. Yaa mal laa tadharruhudh dhunoobu wa laa tanqas’uhul maghfirah. ighfirlee maa laa yaz’’urrak. wa’t’inee maa laa yanqas’uka. innaka wahhaab. As-aluka farajan qareebanw wa s’abran a’a’jilanw wa rizqanw waasia’-a. wal a’a’fiyatika min jameei’l balaayaa. yaa arh’amar rah’imeen.

By You I hit on the necks of the enemies and tyrants. O Allah, help me in my religion by the world and on my hereafter by my piety. And protect me from what is hidden from me. And do not leave me to my self in what is dangerous for me. O One with Whom no sin causes harm and there is no decrease in forgiveness. Forgive me which does not harm You and give that which is not decreased for You. Indeed You are the greatest Giver. I ask You for a quick release, an immediate patience and a wide sustenance, and release from all calamities. O the best of the merciful ones.
