اَللَّهُمَّ عَرِّفْنِي نَفْسَكَ

all�humma `arrifn� nafsaka

O Allah, make me recognize You,

فَإنَّكَ إنْ لَمْ تُعَرِّفْنِي نَفْسَكَ

fa'innaka in lam tu`arrifn� nafsaka

because if You do not make me recognize You,

لَمْ اعْرِفْ رَسُولَكَ

lam a`rif ras�laka

I will not recognize Your Messenger.

اَللَّهُمَّ عَرِّفْنِي رَسُولَكَ

all�humma `arrifn� ras�laka

O Allah, make me recognize Your Messenger,

فَإِنَّكَ إنْ لَمْ تُعَرِّفْنِي رَسُولَكَ

fa'innaka in lam tu`arrifn� ras�laka

because if You do not make me recognize Your Messenger,

لَمْ اعْرِفْ حُجَّتَكَ

lam a`rif �ujjataka

I will not recognize Your Argument.

اَللَّهُمَّ عَرِّفْنِي حُجَّتَكَ

all�humma `arrifn� �ujjataka

O Allah, make me recognize Your Argument,

فَإنَّكَ إنْ لَمْ تُعَرِّفْنِي حُجَّتَكَ

fa'innaka in lam tu`arrifn� �ujjataka

because if You do not make me recognize Your Argument,

ضَلَلْتُ عَنْ دِينِي

�alaltu `an d�n�

I will stray off the path to my religion.

اَللَّهُمَّ لاَ تُمِتْنِي مِيتَةً جَاهِلِيَّةً

all�humma l� tumitn� m�tatan j�hiliyyaatan

O Allah, do not make me die like the death of those who have not recognized Islam

وَلاَ تُزِغْ قَلْبِي بَعْدَ إذْ هَدَيْتَنِي

wa l� tuzigh qalb� ba`da idh hadaytan�

and do not cause my heart to stray off after You have guided me.

اَللَّهُمَّ فَكَمَا هَدَيْتَنِي لِوِلاَيَةِ مَنْ فَرَضْتَ عَلَيَّ طَاعَتَهُ

all�humma fakam� hadaytan� liwil�yati man fara�ta `alayya ��`atah�

O Allah, just as You have guided me to the loyalty of those the obedience to whom You have made incumbent upon me,

مِنْ وِلاَيَةِ وُلاَةِ امْرِكَ بَعْدَ رَسُولِكَ

min wil�yati wul�ti amrika ba`da ras�lika

that is the loyalty to Your representatives after Your Messenger,

صَلَوَاتُكَ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ

�alaw�tuka `alayhi wa �lih�

Your peace be upon him and his Household,

حَتَّىٰ وَالَيْتُ وُلاَةَ امْرِكَ

�att� w�laytu wul�ta amrika

and thus I am loyal to Your representatives;

امِيرَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَٱلْحَسَنَ وَٱلْحُسَيْنَ

am�ra almu'min�na wa al�asana wa al�usayna

[namely,] the Commander of the Faithful, al-�asan, al-�usayn,

وَعَلِيّاً وَمُحَمَّداً وَجَعْفَراً

wa `aliyyan wa mu�ammadan wa ja`far�n

`Ali, Muhammad, Ja`far,

وَمُوسَىٰ وَعَلِيّاً وَمُحَمَّداً

wa m�s� wa `aliyyan wa mu�ammadan

Musa, `Ali, Muhammad,

وَعَلِيّاً وَٱلْحَسَنَ وَٱلْحُجَّةَ ٱلْقَائِمَ ٱلْمَهْدِيَّ

wa `aliyyan wa al�asana wa al�ujjata alq�'ima almahdiyya

`Ali, al-Hasan, and the Argument�the Assumer and well-guided,

صَلَوَاتُكَ عَلَيْهِمْ اجْمَعِينَ

�alaw�tuka `alayhim ajma`�na

Your peace be upon them all,

اَللَّهُمَّ فَثَبِّتْنِي عَلَىٰ دِينِكَ

all�humma fathabbitn� `al� d�nika

so also, O Allah, make me steadfast on Your religion,

وَٱسْتَعْمِلْنِي بِطَاعَتِكَ

wasta`miln� bi��`atika

use me in the obedience to You,

وَلَيِّنْ قَلْبِي لِوَلِيِّ امْرِكَ

wa layyin qalb� liwaliyyi amrika

make my heart lenient towards Your representative,

وَعَافِنِي مِمَّا ٱمْتَحَنْتَ بِهِ خَلْقَكَ

wa `�fin� mimm� imta�anta bih� khalqaka

release me from that which You have used as tests for Your creatures,

وَثَبِّتْنِي عَلَىٰ طَاعَةِ وَلِيِّ امْرِكَ

wa thabbitn� `al� ��`ati waliyyi amrika

and make me steadfast on the obedience to Your representative,

ٱلَّذِي سَتَرْتَهُ عَنْ خَلْقِكَ

alladh� satartah� `an khalqika

whom You have hidden from Your creatures

فَبِـإِذْنِكَ غَـابَ عَنْ بَرِيَّتِـكَ

fabi'idhnika gh�ba `an bariyyatika

and he has thus disappeared from [the sights of] Your creatures by Your permission,

وَامْرَكَ يَنْتَظِرُ

wa amraka yanta�iru

waiting for Your command [to reappear],

وَانْتَ ٱلْعَالِمُ غَيْرُ ٱلْمُعَلَّمِ

wa anta al`�limu ghayru almu`allami

and You are the most Knower and none can instruct You

بِٱلْوَقْتِ الَّذِي فِيهِ صَلاَحُ امْرِ وَلِيِّكَ

bilwaqti alladh� f�hi �al��u amri waliyyika

of the best time for Your representative to reappear,

فِي ٱلإِذْنِ لَهُ بِإِظْهَارِ امْرِهِ

f� al-idhni lah� bi i�h�ri amrih�

and when exactly You allow him to declare his affair

وَكَشْفِ سِرِّهِ

wa kashfi sirrih�

and to disclose his secret.

فَصَبِّرْنِي عَلَىٰ ذٰلِكَ

fa �abbirn� `al� dh�lika

So, grant me patience to endure that

حَتَّىٰ لاَ احِبَّ تَعْجِيلَ مَا اخَّرْتَ

�att� l� u�ibba ta`j�la m� akhkharta

so that I will not long for hastening that which You have delayed

وَلاَ تَاْخِيرَ مَا عَجَّلْتَ

wa l� ta'kh�ra m� `ajjalta

or delaying that which You would hasten,

وَلاَ اكْشِفَ مَا سَتَرْتَ

wa l� akshifa m� satarta

I will not disclose that which You have concealed,

وَلاَ ابْحَثَ عَمَّا كَتَمْتَ

wa l� ab�atha `amm� katamta

I will not investigate that which You have covered,

وَلاَ انَازِعَكَ فِي تَدْبِيرِكَ

wa l� un�zi`aka f� tadb�rika

I will not dispute with You about Your management,

وَلاَ اقُولَ لِمَ وَكَيْفَ

wa l� aq�la lima wa kayfa

and I will not ask, �why�, �how�

وَمَا بَالُ وَلِيِّ ٱلامْرِ لاَ يَظْهَرُ

wa m� b�lu waliyyi al-amri l� ya�haru

and �what for the Representative is not coming,

وَقَدِ ٱمْتَلَاتِ ٱلارْضُ مِنَ ٱلجَوْرِ

wa qad imtala'at al-ar�u mina aljawri

after the earth has been filled with injustice.

وَافَوِّضَ امُورِي كُلَّهَا إِلَيْكَ

wa ufawwi�a um�r� kullah� ilayka

Instead, I will refer all my affairs to You.

اَللَّهُمَّ إنِّي اسْالُكَ انْ تُرِيَنِي وَلِيَّ ٱلامْرِ

all�humma inn� as'aluka an turiyan� waliyya al-amri

O Allah, I beseech You to allow me to see the Representative,

ظَاهِراً نَافِذَ ٱلامْرِ

��hir�n n�fidha al-amri

apparent and prevalent,

مَعَ عِلْمِي بِانَّ لَكَ ٱلسُّلْطَانَ وَٱلْقُدْرَةَ

ma`a `ilm� bi-anna laka alssul��na wa alqudrata

although I know for sure that all authority, power,

وَٱلْبُرْهَانَ وَٱلْحُجَّةَ

wa alburh�na wa al�ujjata

potency, argument,

وَٱلْمَشِيَّةَ وَٱلْحَوْلَ وَٱلْقُوَّةَ

wa almash�'ata wa l�awla wa alquwwata

volition, might, and strength are Yours [alone].

فَٱفْعَلْ ذٰلِكَ  بِي وَبِجَمِيعِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

faf`al dh�lika b� wa bijam�`i almu'min�na

So, do this to me and to all the believers

حَتَّىٰ نَنْظُرَ إلَىٰ وَلِيِّكَ صَلَوَاتُكَ عَلَيْهِ

�att� nan�ura il� waliyyika �alaw�tuka `alayhi

so that we will be able to witness Your representative, Your peace be upon him,

ظَاهِرَ ٱلْمَقَالَةِ

��hira almaq�lati

while he is evident in claim,

وَاضِحَ ٱلدِّلاَلَةِ

w��i�a alddil�lati

manifest in proof,

هَادِياً مِنَ ٱلضَّلاَلَةِ

h�diyan mina al��al�lati

guiding from deviation,

شَافِياً مِنَ ٱلجَهَالَةِ

sh�fi`�n mina aljah�lati

and healing from ignorance.

ابْرِزْ يَا رَبِّ مُشَاهَدَتَهُ

abriz y� rabbi mush�hadatah�

O my Lord, make the looking at him eminent,

وَثَبِّتْ قَوَاعِدَهُ

wa thabbit qaw�`idah�

make firm his bases,

وَٱجْعَلْنَا مِمَّنْ تَقَرُّ عَيْنُهُ بِرُؤْيَتِهِ

waj`aln� mimman taqarru `aynuh� biru'yatih�

make us of those whose eyes are delighted by seeing him,

وَاقِمْنَا بِخِدْمَتِهِ

wa aqimn� bikhidmatih�

employ us to serve him,

وَتَوَفَّنَا عَلَىٰ مِلَّتِهِ

wa tawaffan� `al� millatih�

make us die following his creed,

وَٱحْشُرْنَا فِي زُمْرَتِهِ

wa i�shurn� f� zumratih�

and include us with his group.

اَللَّهُمَّ اعِذْهُ مِنْ شَرِّ جَمِيعِ مَا خَلَقْتَ وَذَرَاْتَ

all�humma a`idhhu min sharri jam�`i m� khalaqta wa dhara'ta

O Allah, protect him against the evil of all that which You have created, made,

وَبَرَاْتَ وَانْشَاْتَ وَصَوَّرْتَ

wa bara'ta wa ansha'ta wa �awwarta

originated, fashioned, and formed.

وَٱحْفَظْهُ مِنْ بَيْنِ يَدَيْهِ وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِ

wa i�fa�hu min bayni yadayhi wa min khalfih�

Safeguard him from his front and back,

وَعَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَعَنْ شِمَالِهِ

wa `an yam�nih� wa `an shim�lih�

his right and left sides,

وَمِنْ فَوْقِهِ وَمِنْ تَحْتِهِ

wa min fawqih� wa min ta�tih�

and above and beneath him

بِحِفْظِكَ ٱلَّذِي لاَ يَضِيعُ مَنْ حَفِظْتَهُ بِهِ

bi�if�ika alladh� l� ya��`u man �afi�tah� bih�

with Your safeguarding that will never fail to save whomever is safeguarded with it,

وَٱحْفَظْ فِيهِ رَسُولَكَ وَوَصِيَّ رَسُولِكَ

wa�fa� f�hi ras�laka wa wa�iyya ras�lika

and safeguard Your Messenger and Your Messenger�s Successor through safeguarding him,

عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلسَّلاَمُ

`alayhimu alssal�mu

peace be upon them.

اَللَّهُمَّ وَمُدَّ فِي عُمْرِهِ

all�humma wa mudda f� `umrih�

O Allah, extend his lifetime,

وَزِدْ فِي اجَلِهِ

wa zid f� ajalih�

increase the period of his life,

وَاعِنْهُ عَلَىٰ مَا وَلَّيْتَهُ وَٱسْتَرْعَيْتَهُ

wa a`inhu `al� m� wallaytah� wa istar`aytah�

help him undertake that which You have entrusted with him and put under his supervision,

وَزِدْ فِي كَرَامَتِكَ لَهُ

wa zid f� kar�matika lah�

and increase Your honor to him.

فَإِنَّهُ ٱلْهَادِيُ ٱلْمَهْدِيُّ

fa'innah� alh�d� almahdiyyu

Verily, he is the guide, the well-guided,

وَٱلْقَائِمُ ٱلْمُهْتَدِي

wa alq�'imu almuhtad�

the assumer (of the mission entrusted with him), the rightly guided,

وَٱلطَّاهِرُ ٱلتَّقِيُّ

wa al���hiru alttaqiyyu

the immaculate, the pious,

ٱلزَّكِيُّ ٱلنَّقِيُّ

alzzakiyyu alnnaqiyyu

the pure, the refined,

ٱلرَّضِيُّ ٱلْمَرْضِيُّ

alrra�iyyu almar�iyyu

the pleased, the satisfied,

ٱلصَّابِرُ ٱلشَّكُورُ ٱلْمُجْتَهِدُ

al���biru alshshak�ru almujtahidu

the serene, the thankful, and the hard-working.

اَللَّهُمَّ وَلاَ تَسْلُبْنَا ٱلْيَقِينَ

all�humma wa l� taslubn� alyaq�na

O Allah, do not deprive us of our strong faith

لِطُولِ ٱلامَدِ فِي غَيْبَتِهِ

li��li al-amadi f� ghaybatih�

because of his long-lasting occultation

وَٱنْقِطَاعِ خَبَرِهِ عَنَّا

wa inqi��`i khabarih� `ann�

and disconnection between him and us.

وَلاَ تُنْسِنَا ذِكْرَهُ

wa l� tunsin� dhikrah�

Do not make us forget to mention him [constantly],

وَٱنْتِظَارَهُ وَٱلإِيـمَانَ بِهِ

wa inti��rah� wal-�m�na bih�

to expect him, to believe in him,

وَقُوَّةَ ٱلْيَقِينِ فِي ظُهُورِهِ

wa quwwata alyaq�ni f� �uh�rih�

to enjoy strong faith in his advent,

وَٱلدُّعَاءَ لَهُ وَٱلصَّلاَةَ عَلَيْهِ

wa alddu`�'a lah� w al��al�ta `alayhi

to pray You for him, and to invoke Your blessings on him

حَتَّىٰ لاَ يُقَنِّطَنَا طُولُ غَيْبَتِهِ مِنْ قِيَامِهِ

�att� l� yuqanni�an� ��lu ghaybatih� min qiy�mih�

so that his long-lasting occultation will never make us despair of his advent

وَيَكُونَ يَقِينُنَا فِي ذٰلِكَ

wa yak�na yaq�nun� f� dh�lika

and our faith in this will be

كَيَقِينِنَا فِي قِيَامِ رَسُولِكَ

kayaq�nin� f� qiy�mi ras�lika

just like our faith in the advent of Your Messenger,

صَلَوَاتُكَ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ

�alaw�tuka `alayhi wa �lih�

Your peace be upon him and his Household,

وَمَا جَاءَ بِهِ مِنْ وَحْيِكَ وَتَنْزِيلِكَ

wa m� j�'a bih� min wa�yika wa tanz�lika

and [just like our faith in] all that which has been conveyed by him to us through Your Revelation and Divine communication.

اَللَّهُمَّ وَقَوِّ قُلُوبَنَا عَلَىٰ ٱلإيـمَانِ بِهِ

all�humma wa qawwi qul�ban� `al� al-�m�ni bih�

O Allah, make our hearts believe in him unshakably

حَتَّىٰ تَسْلُكَ بِنَا عَلَىٰ يَدِهِ مِنْهَاجَ ٱلْهُدَىٰ

�att� tasluka bin� `al� yadih� minh�ja alhud�

so that You will lead us, at his hands, to the path of true guidance,

وَٱلْمَحَجَّةَ ٱلْعُظْمَىٰ

Wa alma�ajjata al`u�m�

the greatest destination,

وَٱلطَّرِيقَةَ ٱلْوُسْطَىٰ

wa al��ar�qata alwus��

and the moderate way.

وَقَوِّنَا عَلَىٰ طَاعَتِهِ

wa qawwin� `al� ��`atih�

Grant us strength to obey him,

وَثَبِّتْنَا عَلَىٰ مُشَايَعَتِهِ

wa thabbitn� `al� mush�ya`atih�

make us firm in supporting him,

وَٱجْعَلْنَا فِي حِزْبِهِ وَاعْوَانِهِ

wa ij`aln� f� �izbih� wa a`w�nih�

and include us with his party, backers,

وَانْصَارِهِ وَٱلرَّاضِينَ بِفِعْلِهِ

wa an��rih� wa alrr���na bifi`lih�

allies, and those satisfied with his deed.

وَلاَ تَسْلُبْنَا ذٰلِكَ  فِي حَيَاتِنَا

wa l� taslubn� dh�lika f� �ay�tin�

Do not deprive us of so during our lifetimes

وَلاَ عِنْدَ وَفَاتِنَا

wa l� `inda waf�tin�

nor at the hour of our death,

حَتَّىٰ تَتَوَفَّانَا وَنَحْنُ عَلَىٰ ذٰلِكَ

�att� tatawaff�n� wa na�nu `al� dh�lika

but (please) make us die while we carry this faith,

لاَ شَاكِّينَ وَلاَ نَاكِثِينَ

l� sh�kk�na wa l� n�kith�na

without doubt, breach of our covenant to him,

وَلاَ مُرْتَابِينَ وَلاَ مُكَذِّبِينَ

wa l� murt�b�na wa l� mukadhdhib�na

suspect, or belying him.

اَللَّهُمَّ عَجِّلْ فَرَجَهُ

all�humma `ajjil farajah�

O Allah, hasten his Relief,

وَايِّدْهُ بِٱلنَّصْرِ

wa ayyid-hu bilnna�ri

aid him with victory,

وَانْصُرْ نَاصِرِيهِ

wan�ur n��ir�h

grant his supporters victory,

وَٱخْذِلْ خَاذِلِيهِ

wa ikhdhil kh�dhil�hi

disappoint those who disappoint him,

وَدَمْدِمْ عَلَىٰ مَنْ نَصَبَ لَهُ وَكَذَّبَ بِهِ

wa damdim `al� man na�aba lah� wa kadhdhaba bih�

doom those who conspire against him and those who contradict him,

وَاظْهِرْ بِهِ ٱلْحَقَّ

wa a�hir bih� al�aqqa

make manifest the truth through him,

وَامِتْ بِهِ ٱلْجَوْرَ

wa amit bih� aljawra

obliterate injustice through him,

وَٱسْتَنْقِذْ بِهِ عِبَادَكَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ مِنَ ٱلذُّلِّ

wa istanqidh bih� `ib�daka almu'min�na mina aldhdhulli

save Your faithful servants from humiliation through him,

وَانْعِشْ بِهِ ٱلْبِلاَدَ

wa an`ish bih� albil�da

refresh the lands through him,

وَاقْتُلْ بِهِ جَبَابِرَةَ ٱلْكُفْرِ

waqtul bih� jab�birata alkufri

kill the tyrannical chiefs of disbelief through him,

وَٱقْصِمْ بِهِ رُؤُوسَ الضَّلاَلَةِ

waq�im bih� ru'�sa al��al�lati

crush the heads of deviation through him,

وَذَلِّلْ بِهِ ٱلْجَبَّارِينَ وَٱلْكَافِرِينَ

wa dhallil bih� aljabb�r�na walk�fir�na

debase the tyrants and disbelievers through him,

وَابْرِ بِهِ ٱلْمُنَافِقِينَ وَٱلنَّاكِثِينَ

wa abri bih� almun�fiq�na walnn�kith�na

eradicate the hypocrites, the breachers,

وَجَمِيعِ ٱلْمُخَالِفِينَ وَٱلْمُلْحِدِينَ

wa jam�`i almukh�lif�na walmul�id�na

and all the dissidents and the atheists

فِي مَشَارِقِ ٱلارْضِ وَمَغَارِبِهَا

f� mash�riqi al-ar�i wa magh�ribih�

in the east and west of this earth,

وَبَرِّهَا وَبَحْرِهَا

wa barrih� wa ba�rih�

on lands, in oceans,

وَسَهْلِهَا وَجَبَلِهَا

wa sahlih� wa jabalih�

in plains, and in mountains

حَتَّىٰ لاَ تَدَعَ مِنْهُمْ دَيَّاراً

�att� l� tada`a minhum dayy�ran

so that You will not leave of them a single one on earth

وَلاَ تُبْقِيَ لَهُمْ آثَاراً

wa l� tubqiya lahum �th�ran

and You will keep not even a single trace of them.

طَهِّرْ مِنْهُمْ بِلاَدَكَ

�ahhir minhum bil�daka

Clean Your lands from them,

وَٱشْفِ مِنْهُمْ صُدُورَ عِبَادِكَ

washfi minhum �ud�ra `ib�dika

heal the breasts of Your servants from them,

وَجَدِّدْ بِهِ مَا ٱمْتَحَىٰ مِنْ دِينِكَ

wa jaddid bih� m� imta�� min d�nika

revive the signs of Your religion that were obliterated,

وَاصْلِحْ بِهِ مَا بُدِّلَ مِنْ حُكْمِكَ وَغُيِّرَ مِنْ سُنَّتِكَ

wa a�li� bih� m� buddila min �ukmika wa ghuyyira min sunnatika

and rectify Your laws that were altered and Your instructions that were changed,

حَتَّىٰ يَعُودَ دِينُكَ بِهِ وَعَلَىٰ يَدَيْهِ

�att� ya`�da d�nuka bih� wa`al� yadayhi

so that Your religion will be restored, through him and at his hands,

غَضّاً جَدِيداً صَحِيحاً

gha��an jad�dan �a���an

fresh, new, and sound

لاَ عِوَجَ فِيهِ وَلاَ بِدْعَةَ مَعَهُ

l� `iwaja f�hi wa l� bid`ata ma`ah�

without any crookedness and without any heresy

حَتَّىٰ تُطْفِئَ بِعَدْلِهِ نِيرَانَ ٱلْكَافِرِينَ

�att� tu�f�'a bi`adlih� n�r�na alk�fir�na

so that You will extinguish the fires of the disbelievers through his justice.

فَإنَّهُ عَبْدُكَ ٱلَّذِي ٱسْتَخْلَصْتَهُ لِنَفْسِكَ

fa'innah� `abduka alladh� istakhla�tah� linafsika

He is verily Your servant on whom You have decided for Yourself,

وَٱرْتَضَيْتَهُ لِنُصْرَةِ دِينِكَ

warta�aytah� linu�rati d�nika

accepted to support Your religion,

وَٱصْطَفَيْتَهُ بِعِلْمِكَ

wa��afaytah� bi`ilmika

chosen on the basis of Your [eternal] knowledge,

وَعَصَمْتَهُ مِنَ ٱلذُّنُوبِ

wa `a�amtah� mina aldhdhun�bi

preserved against sins,

وَبَرَّاْتَهُ مِنَ ٱلعُيُوبِ

wa barra'tah� mina al`uy�bi

freed from defects,

وَاطْلَعْتَهُ عَلَىٰ ٱلْغُيُوبِ

wa a�la`tah� `al� alghuy�bi

apprised of the unseen,

وَانْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِ

wa an`amta `alayhi

bestowed with Your grace,

وَطَهَّرْتَهُ مِنَ ٱلرِّجْسِ

wa �ahhartah� mina alrrijsi

purified from filth,

وَنَقَّيْتَهُ مِنَ ٱلدَّنَسِ

wa naqqaytah� mina alddanasi

and refined from impurity.

اَللَّهُمَّ فَصَلِّ عَلَيْهِ

all�humma fa�alli `alayhi

So, O Allah, confer blessings upon him

وَعَلَىٰ آبَائِهِ ٱلائِمَّةِ ٱلطَّاهِرِينَ

wa `al� �b�'ih� al-a'immati al���hir�na

and upon his forefathers the immaculate Imams

وَعَلَىٰ شِيعَتِهِ ٱلْمُنْتَجَبِينَ

wa `al� sh�`atih� almuntajab�na

and upon his elite partisans,

وَبَلِّغْهُمْ مِنْ آمَالِهِمْ مَا يَاْمَلُونَ

wa ballighhum min �m�lihim m� ya'mal�na

make them attain the utmost of their hopes,

وَٱجْعَلْ ذٰلِكَ  مِنَّا خَالِصاً

waj`al dh�lika minn� kh�li��n

and accept this from us to be free

مِنْ كُلِّ شَكٍّ وَشُبْهَةٍ

min kulli shakkin wa shubhatin

from any doubt, sedition,

وَرِيَاءٍ وَسُمْعَةٍ

wa riy�'in wa sum`atin

ostentation, or showing off,

حَتَّىٰ لاَ نُرِيدَ بِهِ غَيْرَكَ

�att� l� nur�da bih� ghayraka

so that we will not seek through it anyone save You

وَلاَ نَطْلُبَ بِهِ إِلاَّ وَجْهَكَ

wa l� na�luba bih� ill� wajhaka

and we will not aim for anything save Your Face.

اَللَّهُمَّ إنَّا نَشْكُو إلَيْكَ فَقْدَ نَبِيِّنَا

all�humma inn� nashk� ilayka faqda nabiyyin�

O Allah, we complain to You about missing our Prophet,

وَغَيْبَةَ وَلِيِّنَا

wa ghaybata waliyyin�

occultation of our Master,

وَشِدَّةَ ٱلزَّمَانِ عَلَيْنَا

wa shiddata alzzam�ni `alayn�

unbearable vicissitudes of days against us,

وَوُقُوعَ ٱلْفِتَنِ

wa wuq�`a alfitani

befalling of seditious matters,

وَتَظَاهُرَ ٱلاعْدَاءِ

wa ta��hura ala`d�'i

alliance of our enemies [against us],

وَكَثْرَةَ عَدُوِّنَا

wa kathrata `aduwwin�

the big numbers of our enemies,

وَقِلَّةَ عَدَدِنَا

wa qillata `adadin�

and the fewness of us.

اَللَّهُمَّ فَٱفْرُجْ ذٰلِكَ  عَنَّا

all�humma fafruj dh�lika `ann�

O Allah, relieve us from all that

بِفَتْحٍ مِنْكَ تُعَجِّلُهُ

bifat�in minka tu`ajjiluh�

by means of a triumph that You may hasten,

وَنَصْرٍ مِنْكَ تُعِزُّهُ

wa na�rin minka tu`izzuh�

a victory that You may fortify,

وَإمَامِ عَدْلٍ تُظْهِرُهُ

wa-im�mi `adlin tu�hiruh�

and a just leader that You allow to appear.

إِلٰهَ ٱلْحَقِّ آمِينَ

il�ha al�aqqi �m�na

O God of the Truth, respond to us.

اَللَّهُمَّ إنَّا نَسْالُكَ

all�humma inn� nas'aluka

O Allah, we earnestly beseech You

انْ تَاْذَنَ لِوَلِيِّكَ فِي إِظْهَارِ عَدْلِكَ فِي بِلاَدِكَ

an ta'dhana liwaliyyika f� i�h�ri `adlika f� bil�dika

to allow Your Representative to spread Your justice in Your lands

وَقَتْلِ اعْدَائِكَ فِي بِلاَدِكَ

wa qatli a`d�'ika f� bil�dika

and to kill Your enemies in Your lands,

حَتَّىٰ لاَ تَدَعَ لِلْجَوْرِ يَا رَبِّ دَعَامَةً إِلاَّ قَصَمْتَهَا

�att� l� tada`a liljawri y� rabbi da`�matan ill� qa�amtah�

so that You, O my Lord, will not leave any support [of injustice] but that You demolish it,

وَلاَ بَقِيَّةً إِلاَّ اَفْنَيْتَهَا

wa l� baqiyyatan ill� afnaytah�

any remnant but that You terminate it,

وَلاَ قُوَّةً إِلاَّ اَوْهَنْتَهَا

wa l� quwwatan ill� awhantah�

any power but that You enfeeble it,

وَلاَ رُكْناً إِلاَّ هَدَمْتَهُ

wa l� ruknan ill� hadamtah�

any probe but that You destroy it,

وَلاَ حَدّاً إِلاَّ فَلَلْتَهُ

wa l� �addan ill� falaltah�

any sharp sword but that You notch it,

وَلاَ سِلاَحاً إِلاَّ اَكْلَلْتَهُ

wa l� sil��an ill� aklaltah�

any weapon but that You deactivate it,

وَلاَ رَايَةً إِلاَّ نَكَّسْتَهَا

wa l� r�yatan ill� nakkastah�

any pennon but that You turn it over,

وَلاَ شُجَاعاً إِلاَّ قَتَلْتَهُ

wa l� shuj�`an ill� qataltah�

any dominant one but that You kill him,

وَلاَ جَيْشاً إِلاَّ خَذَلْتَهُ

wa l� jaysh�n ill� khadhaltah�

and any army but that You defeat it.

وَٱرْمِهِمْ يَا رَبِّ بِحَجَرِكَ ٱلدَّامِغِ

warmihim y� rabbi bi�ajarika aldd�mighi

Throw them, O my Lord, with Your stamping stone,

وَٱضْرِبْهُمْ بِسَيْفِكَ ٱلْقَاطِعِ

wa�ribhum bisayfika alq��i`i

strike them with Your cutting sword

وَبَاْسِكَ ٱلَّذِي لاَ تَرُدُّهُ عَنِ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ

wa ba'sika alladh� l� tarudduh� `an alqawmi almujrim�na

and Your power that You do not ward off from the offensive people,

وَعَذِّبْ اعْدَاءَكَ

wa`adhdhib a`d�'aka

and torture Your enemies

وَاعْدَاءَ وَلِيِّكَ وَاعْدَاءَ رَسُولِكَ

wa a`d�'a waliyyika wa a`d�'a ras�lika

and the enemies of Your representative and the enemies of Your Messenger,

صَلَوَاتُكَ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ

�alaw�tuka `alayhi wa �lih�

Your blessings be upon him and upon his Household,

بِيَدِ وَلِيِّكَ وَايْدِي عِبَادِكَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

biyadi waliyyika wa ayd� `ib�dika almu'min�na

at the hand of Your representative and the hands of Your faithful servants.

اَللَّهُمَّ إِكْفِ وَلِيَّكَ وَحُجَّتَكَ فِي ارْضِكَ

all�humma ikfi waliyyaka wa �ujjataka f� ar�ika

O Allah, suffice Your representative and argument on Your lands

هَوْلَ عَدُوِّهِ

hawla `aduwwih�

against the terror of his enemy,

وَكِدْ مَنْ كَادَهُ

wa kid man k�dah�

deter the conspiracies of those who plot against him,

وَٱمْكُرْ بِمَنْ مَكَرَ بِهِ

wamkur biman makara bih�

ward off those who plan against him,

وَٱجْعَلْ دَائِرَةَ السَّوْءِ عَلَىٰ مَنْ ارَادِ بِهِ سُوءاً

waj`al d�'irata alssaw'i `al� man ar�di bih� s�'an

make the disaster of evil to be upon those who intend ill to him,

وَٱقْطَعْ عَنْهُ مَادَّتَهُمْ

waq�a` `anhu m�ddatahum

stop their schemes against him,

وَارْعِبْ لَهُ قُلُوبَهُمْ

wa ar`ib lah� qul�bahum

make their hearts panic about him,

وَزَلْزِلْ اقْدَامَهُمْ

wa zalzil aqd�mahum

make their feet convulse,

وَخُذْهُمْ جَهْرَةً وَبَغْتَةً

wa khudhhum jahratan wa baghtatan

grasp them gradually and suddenly,

وَشَدِّدْ عَلَيْهِمْ عَذَابَكَ

wa shaddid `alayhim `adh�baka

intensify Your torment on them,

وَٱخْزِهِمْ فِي عِبَادِكَ

wakhzihim f� `ib�dika

disgrace them among Your servants,

وَٱلْعَنْهُمْ فِي بِلاَدِكَ

wal`anhum f� bil�dika

curse them in Your lands,

وَاسْكِنْهُمْ اسْفَلَ نَارِكَ

wa askinhum asfala n�rika

lodge them in the lowest class of Your fire,

وَاحِطْ بِهِمْ اشَدَّ عَذَابِكَ

wa a�i� bihim ashadda `adh�bika

encompass them with the most intense of Your punishment,

وَاصْلِهِمْ نَاراً

wa a�lihim n�ran

expose them to fire,

وَٱحْشُ قُبُورَ مَوْتَاهُمْ نَاراً

wa�shu qub�ra mawt�hum n�ran

stuff the graves of their dead ones with fire,

وَاصْلِهِمْ حَرَّ نَارِكَ

wa a�lihim �arra n�rika

and expose them to the heat of Your fire,

فَإِنَّهُمْ اضَاعُوٱ الصَّلاَةَ

fa'innahum a��`� al��al�ta

for they have ruined the prayers,

وَٱتَّبَعُوٱ ٱلشَّهَوَاتِ

wattaba`� alshshahaw�ti

followed their lusts,

وَاضَلُّوا عِبَادَكَ

wa a�all� `ib�daka

and misled Your servants.

اَللَّهُمَّ فَاحْيِ بِوَلِيِّكَ الْقُرْآنَ

all�humma fa-a�yi biwaliyyika alqur'�na

Therefore, O Allah, revive the Qur'�n through Your representative,

وَارِنَا نُورَهُ سَرْمَداً لاَ لَيْلَ فِيهِ

wa arin� n�rah� sarmad�n l� layla f�hi

make us see his light to be never-ending without any night,

وَاحْيِ بِهِ ٱلْقُلُوبَ ٱلْمَيِّتَةَ

wa a�yi bih� alqul�ba almayyitata

revive the dead hearts through him,

وَٱشْفِ بِهِ ٱلصُّدُورَ ٱلْوَغِرَةَ

washfi bih� al��ud�ra alwaghirata

heal the furious breasts through him,

وَٱجْمَعْ بِهِ ٱلاهْوَاءَ ٱلْمُخْتَلِفَةَ عَلَىٰ ٱلْحَقِّ

wajma` bih� al-ahw�'a almukhtalifata `al� al�aqqi

combine the divergent inclinations to the right through him,

وَاقِمْ بِهِ ٱلْحُدُودَ ٱلْمُعَطَّلَةَ

wa aqim bih� al�ud�da almu`a��alata

and re-establish the broken-down provisions

وَٱلاحْكَامَ ٱلْمُهْمَلَةَ

wa al-a�k�ma almuhmalata

and the neglected laws through him

حَتَّىٰ لاَ يَبْقَىٰ حَقٌّ إِلاَّ ظَهَرَ

�att� l� yabq� �aqqun ill� �ahara

so that no item of truth will be undisclosed

وَلاَ عَدْلٌ إِلاَّ زَهَرَ

wa l� `adlun ill� zahara

and no item of justice unthriven.

وَٱجْعَلْنَا يَا رَبِّ مِنْ اعْوَانِهِ

waj`aln� y� rabbi min a`w�nih�

And make us, O my Lord, of his supporters,

وَمُقَوِّيَةِ سُلْطَانِهِ

wa muqawwiyati sul��nih�

of the strengtheners of his authority,

وَٱلْمُؤْتَمِرِينَ لامْرِهِ

walmu'tamir�na li-amrih�

of those carrying out his orders,

وَٱلرَّاضِينَ بِفِعْلِهِ

walrr���na bifi`lih�

of those satisfied with his deeds,

وَٱلْمُسَلِّمِينَ لاحْكَامِهِ

walmusallim�na li-a�k�mih�

of those submissive to his judgments,

وَمِمَّنْ لاَ حَاجَةَ بِهِ إلَىٰ ٱلتَّقِيَّةِ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ

wa mimman l� ��jata bih� il� alttaqiyyati min khalqika

and of those who do not need to practice dissimulation before Your creatures any more.

انْتَ يَا رَبِّ ٱلَّذِي تَكْشِفُ ٱلضُّرَّ

anta y� rabbi alladh� takshifu al��urra

It is You, O my Lord, Who relieve from harms,

وَتُجِيبُ ٱلْمُضْطَرَّ إذَا دَعَاكَ

wa tuj�bu almu��arra idh� da`�ka

respond to the depressed when they supplicate to You,

وَتُنَجِّي مِنَ ٱلكَرْبِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ

wa tunajj� mina alkarbi al`a��mi

and save from grave agonies.

فَٱكْشِفِ ٱلضُّرَّ عَنْ وَلِيِّكَ

fakshif al��urra `an waliyyika

So, remove harm from Your representative

وَٱجْعَلْهُ خَلِيفَةً فِي ارْضِكَ كَمَا ضَمِنْتَ لَهُ

waj`alhu khal�fatan f� ar�ika kam� �aminta lah�

and make him a vicegerent on the earth as You have promised him to do.

اَللَّهُمَّ وَلاَ تَجْعَلْنِي مِنْ خُصَمَاءِ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلسَّلاَمُ

all�humma wa l� taj`aln� min khu�am�'i �li mu�ammadin `alayhimu alssal�mu

O Allah, do not include me with the rivals of Muhammad�s Household, peace be upon them,

وَلاَ تَجْعَلْنِي مِنْ اعْدَاءِ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلسَّلاَمُ

wa l� taj`aln� min a`d�'i �li mu�ammadin `alayhimu alssal�mu

do not include me with the enemies of Muhammad�s Household, peace be upon them,

وَلاَ تَجْعَلْنِي مِنْ اهْلِ ٱلْحَنَقِ وَٱلْغَيْظِ عَلَىٰ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلسَّلاَمُ

wa l� taj`aln� min ahli al�anaqi walghay�i `al� �li mu�ammadin `alayhimu alssal�mu

and do not include me with those who bear spite and malice against Muhammad�s Household, peace be upon them.

فَإنِّي اعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ ذٰلِكَ  فَاعِذْنِي

fa'nn� a`�dhu bika min dh�lika fa-a`idhn�

I do seek Your protection against making me so; therefore, protect me against it,

وَاسْتَجِيرُ بِكَ فَاجِرْنِي

wa astaj�ru bika fa-ajirn�

and I take refuge in You against so; therefore, save me against it.

اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

all�humma �alli `al� mu�ammadin wa �li mu�ammadin

O Allah, send blessings to Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad,

وَٱجْعَلْنِي بِهِمْ فَائِزاً عِنْدَكَ

waj`aln� bihim f�'izan `indaka

make me of the winners with You through them

فِي ٱلدُّنْيَا وَٱلآخِرَةِ

f� aldduny� wal-�khirati

in this worldly life and in the Hereafter,

وَمِنَ ٱلْمُقَرَّبِينَ

wa mina almuqarrab�na

and make me of those brought near to You.

آمِينَ رَبَّ ٱلْعَالَمِينَ

�m�na rabba al`�lam�na

Respond, O Lord of the worlds.
