In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.

O Allah, (please do) send blessings to Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad,

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

bna Tawus in Muhaj al-Dawat and Kafami in al-Misbah narrate this supplication on the authority of Imam Ali (as) who learnt it from the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his progeny). The Holy Prophet advised him to recite this supplication regularly, whether in prosperity or poverty, till death, because it unveils the secrets of creation and divine strategy.  This supplication is recommended for the removal of all troubles and worries, and it is recommended that it be performed with ablution.

Transliteration

 Arabic Text

All praise is due to Allah. There is no god but He,

alhamdo lil-iahil-iazi la ilaha ilia howa

اَلْحَمْدُ للهِ الَذي لا إِلـٰهَ إِلاّ هُوَ

the King, the Truth that makes all things manifest

al-malekool-haqqool-mobeen

الْمَلِكُ الْحَقُّ الْمُبينُ

He is the Administrator without any minister and without consultation with any of his servants.

al-modabbero, bela wazirin wa la khalqin min ibadehi yastasheer

الْمُدَبِرُّ  بِلا وَزيرٍ وَلا خَلْقٍ مِنْ عِبادِهِ يَسْتَشيرُ،

He is the First, who cannot be described.

al-awwalo ghairo mawsoofin

الأَوَّلُ غَيْرُ مَوْصُوفٍ،

He is Eternal and will live forever, (even) after the annihilation of all creatures.

wal-baqi ba'da fanaa'il khalq

وَالْباقي بَعْدَ فَناءِ الْخَلْقِ،

He is the greatest Cherisher and Sustainer

al' azimoor-roboo-bi-yate,

الْعَظيمُ الرُّبُوبِيَّةِ،

the Light of the earths and heavens and their Creator and Maker out of nothing.

nooroos-samawate wal' arzeena wa fatiro homa wa mobtade’ohoma

نُورُ السَّماواتِ وَالأَرَضينَ وَفاطِرُهُما وَمُبْتَدِعُهُما

He created both of them without any pillars and separated them – a proper separation.

be-ghaire amadin khalaqahoma wa fataqahoma fatqan

بِغَيْرِ عَمَدٍ خَلَقَهُما وَفَتَقَهُما فَتْقاً

Thus the heavens became stable in obedience to His commandment

faqamatis-sama-wato ta'ea tin be-' amrehi

فَقامَتِ السَّماواتُ طائِعاتٌ بِأَمْرِهِ

and the earths became fixed on the surface of the water with their pegs.

wastaqarratil arazoona be-aw-tadeha fawqal-maae

وَاسْتَقَرَّتِ الأَرضَوُنَ (الأَرْضِ) بِأَوْتادِها فَوْقَ الْماءِ،

Then our Lord subdued the high heavens

thoomm ala rabbona fis samawatil'ola

ثُمَّ عَلا رَبُّنا فِي السَماواتِ الْعُلىٰ

The Most Gracious is firmly established on the throne (of authority)

ar-rahmano ' alal'arshis-tawa

اَلَّرحْمنُ عَلَىٰ الْعَرْشِ اسْتَوىٰ،

Everything that is in heaven and in the earth and in between them and what is below the earth belongs to Him.

lahoo ma fis-samawate wa ma fil arze wa ma bainahooma wa ma tahtath-thara

لَهُ ما فِي السَّماواتِ وَما فِي الأَرْضِ وَما بَيْنَهُما وَما تَحْتَ الثَّرىٰ،

So, I bear witness that verily You are Allah. There is none to elevate what You have lowered

fa'ana ash-hado be-annaka antal-lahoo la rafe'a lema waza'ta

فَأَنَا أَشْهَدُ بِأَنَّكَ أَنْتَ اللهُ لا رافِعَ لِما وَضَعْتَ،

And no one to lower what You have elevated

wa la waze'aa lema rafa'ta

وَلا واضِعَ لِما رَفَعْتَ،

and no one to exalt him whom You leave in disgrace

wa la mo'izza leman azlal-ta

وَلا مُعِزَّ لِمَنْ أَذْلَلْتَ،

and no one to bring into disgrace him whom You exalt

wa la mozilla leman aa’zazta

وَلا مُذِلَّ لِمَنْ أَعْزَزْتَ،

and no one to prevent him upon whom You bestow Your favour

wa la mane'a lema aa'taita

وَلا مانِعَ لِما أَعْطَيْتَ،

and no one to bestow anything, which You have withheld.

wa la mo'teeya lema mana’ta

وَلا مُعْطِيَ لِما مَنَعْتَ

You are Allah, there is no god but You

wa antal-laho la ilaha ilia anta

وَأَنْتَ اللهُ لا إِلـٰهَ إِلاّ أَنْتَ

Who existed when there was neither the stable sky nor the broad earth

koonta izlam takon samaa’oon mabni-yatoon w ala arzon madheyatoon

كُنْتَ إِذْ لَمْ تَكُنْ سَماءٌ مَبْنِيَّةٌ وَلا أَرْضٌ مَدْحِيَّةٌ

nor the brilliant sun nor the dark night, nor the bright day,

wa la shamsoon mozee'atoon wa la lailoon moozlemoon wa la naharoon mozi’oon

وَلا شَمْسٌ مُضيـئَةٌ وَلا لَيْلٌ مُظْلِمٌ وَلا نَهارٌ مُضيـىءٌ،

nor the vast and stormy sea, nor any sublime and stable mountain,

wa la bahroon lojji-yoon wa la jabaloon rasin

وَلا بَحْرٌ لُجّـِيٌ وَلا جَبَلٌ راسٍ،

nor any revolving planet, nor the luminous moon,

wa la najmoon sarin wa la qamroom mooniroon

وَلا نَجْمٌ سارٍ، وَلا قَمَرٌ مُنيرٌ،

nor any blowing wind, nor any raining cloud,

wa la reehoon tahoobbo wa la sahaboon yaskobo

وَلا ريحٌ تَهُبُّ، وَلا سَحابٌ يَسْكُبُ،

nor flashing lightning, nor any praising thunder,

wa la barqun yalma’oo wa la ra'doon yoosabbeho

وَلا بَرْقٌ يَلْمَعُ، وَلا رَعْدٌ يُسَبّـِحُ،

nor any breathing soul, nor any flying bird,

wa la roohoon tanaffaso wa la taa'eroon yateero

وَلا رُوحٌ تَنَفَّسُ، وَلا طائِرٌ يَطيرُ،

nor any blazing fire, nor any flowing water.

wa la naroon tatawaq-qado wa la maa'oon yatredo

وَلا نارٌ تَتَوَقَّدُ، وَلا ماءٌ يَطَّرِدُ

You existed before the existence of everything

koonta qabla koolle shai'in

كُنْتَ قَبْلَ كُلّ ِ شَيْءٍ

and You created everything

wa kaw-wanta koolla shai'in

وَكَوَّنْتَ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ

and controlled everything

wa qadarta ' ala koolle shai'in

وَقَدَرْتَ عَلىٰ كُلّ ِ شَيْءٍ

and originated everything.

wab- tada'ta koolla shai'in

وَابْتَدَعْتَ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ

You enriched some and reduced others to poverty,

wa aghnaita wa afqarta

وَأَغْنَيْتَ وَأَفْقَرْتَ

caused some to die and brought others to life,

wa amatta wa ahaita

وَأَمَتَّ وَأَحْيَيْتَ

and made some people glad and others weep.

wa azhakta wa abkaita

وَأَضْحَكْتَ وَأَبْكَيْتَ

Verily You rule from the Throne.

wa ' alal'arshis-tawaita

وَعَلَىٰ الْعَرشِ اسْتَوَيْتَ

You are of vast blessing, O Allah You are Great and Supreme.

fataba-rakta ya allaho wa ta'alaita

فَتَبارَكْتَ يا اَللهُ وَتَعالَيْتَ،

You are Allah and there is no god other than You.

antal-lahool-lazi la ilaha illa anta

أَنْتَ اللهُ الَّذي لا إِلـٰهَ إِلاّ أَنْتَ

You are the Creator and Supporter.

al-khallaqool-mo’eeno

الْخَلاّقُ الْمُعينُ

Your Decree is overpowering and Your Knowledge is operative.

amroka ghaliboon wa ilmoka nafezoon

أَمْرُكَ غالِبٌ وَعِلْمُكَ نافِذٌ،

Your strategy is wonderful; Your promise is true;

wa kaidoka ghariboon wa wa'doka sadeqoon

وَكَيْدُكَ غَريبٌ، وَوَعْدُكَ صادِقٌ،

Your word is right; Your command is just;

wa qawloka haqqoon wa hookmoka ' adloon

وَقَوْلُكَ حَقٌّ وَحُكْمُكَ عَدْلٌ،

Your utterance is right guidance; Your Revelation is light;

wa kalamoka hoodan wa wah-yoka nooroon

وَكَلامُكَ هُدىً، وَوَحْيُكَ نوُرٌ،

Your mercy is vast and abundant; Your forgiveness is superb;

wa rah-matoka wase'atoon wa ' afwoka ' azimoon

وَرَحْمَتُكَ واسِعَةٌ، وَعَفْوُكَ عَظيمٌ،

Your grace is excessive; Your gift is most respectable

wa fazloka katheeroon wa ataa'oka jazeeloon

وَفَضْلُكَ كَثيرٌ، وَعَطاؤُكَ جَزيلٌ،

Your cord is strong; Your might is ever ready

wa habloka mateenoon wa imkanoka ' atidoon

وَحَبْلُكَ مَتينٌ، وَإِمْكانُكَ عَتيدٌ،

Your protégé is powerful; Your wrath is severe; and Your stratagem is entrapping

wa jaroka ' azizoon wa basoka shadeedoon wa makroka makeedoon

وَجارُكَ عَزيزٌ، وَبَأْسُكَ شَديدٌ، وَمَكْرُكَ مَكيدٌ

O Lord! With You are lodged all complaints.

anta ya rabbe mawze'o koolle shakwa

أَنْتَ يا رَبِ مَوْضِعُ كُلّ ِ شَكْوىٰ

You are present in all gatherings,

wa hazero koolle mala'in

حاضِرُ كُلّ ِ مَلاَءٍ

and are the witness of all secrets,

wa shahido koolle najwa

وَشاهِدُ كُلّ ِنَجْوىٰ،

and the ultimate goal of all supplications,

moontaha koolle hajatin

مُنْتَهىٰ كُلّ ِ حاجَةٍ

the expeller of all sorrows,

mofarrejo koolle hooznin

مُفَرّ ِجُ كُلّ ِ حُزْنٍ

the affluence of every needy person,

ghena koolle mis-keenin

غِنىٰ كُلّ ِ مِسْكينٍ

the stronghold for every refugee,

hisno koolle harebin

حِصْنُ كُلّ ِ هارِبٍ

security for everyone who is terror-stricken,

amano koolle khaa'efin

أَمانُ كُلّ ِ خائِفٍ،

a shield for the weak, a treasure for the indigent,

hirzooz-zo'afaa'e kanzool-foqaraa'a

حْرِزُ الضُّعَفاءِ كَنْزُ الْفُقَراءِ،

the destroyer of grief, the helper of the virtuous.

mofarrejol ghamaa'ay mo'eenoos saleheena

مُفَرّ ِجُ الْغَمَّاءِ مُعينُ الصّالِحينَ،

Such is Allah, our Lord. There is no god but He.

zalekal-laho robbona la ilaha ilia howa

ذٰلِكَ اللهُ رَبُّنا لا إِلـٰهَ إِلاّ هُوَ،

You satisfyy such of Your servants as trust unto You.

takfee min 'ibadeka man tawak-kala, alaika

تَكْفِي مِنْ عِبادِكَ مَنْ تَوَكَّلَ عَلَيْكَ

You are the protector of him who is firmly attached to You and humiliates himself before You,

wa anta jaro, man laz abeka wa tazarra'a ilaika

وَأَنْتَ جارُ مَنْ لاذَ بِكَ وَتَضَرَّعَ إِلَيْكَ

a shield for him who seeks refuge with You,

'ismato man'etasama beka

عِصْمَةُ مَنِ اعْتَصَمَ بِكَ

the help of him who looks up to You for help,

nasiro manin- tasara beka

ناصِرُ مَنِ انْتَصَرَ بِكَ

the forgiver of sins for him who begs for Your pardon,

taghfirooz-zonooba lemanis-tagh-faraka

تَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ لِمَنِ اسْتَغْفَرَكَ،

the compiler of the tyrants,

jab-barool-jababerate

جَبّارُ الْجَبابِرَةِ،

the most grand of the grand,

azimool' ozamaa'ay

عَظيمُ الْعُظَماءِ

the most great of the great,

kabirool-koba-raa'ay

كَبيرُ الْكُبَراءِ،

the master of masters,

sayyedoos-sadate

سَيّـِدُ السّاداتِ

the Lord of lords,

mawlal-mawali

مُوْلَىٰ الْمَوالِيْ

the Succour of the grieved,

sareekhool-moostas-rekheena

صَريخُ الْمُسْتَصْرِخينَ

the Helper of those crying for help,

monaffesoon anil-makroobeena

مُنَفّـِسٌ عَنِ الْمَكْروُبينَ

the Responder to the call of the distressed,

mojeebo da'watil-moztarreena

مُجيبُ دَعْوَةِ الْمُضْطَرّ ِينَ

the best of all listeners,

asma'oos-same'eena

أَسْمَعُ السّامِعينَ

the best of all observers,

absaroon-nazereena

أَبْصَرُ النّاظِرينَ

the best of all judges,

ahkamool-hakemeena

أَحْكَمُ الْحاكِمينَ

the most swift of reckoners,

asra' oo1 hasebeena

أَسْرَعُ الْحاسِبينَ

the most merciful of all the merciful

ar- hamor- rahemeena

أَرْحَمُ الرّاحِمينَ

the best of all forgivers,

khairool ' ghafereena

خَيْرُ الغافِرينَ،

the satisfier of the needs of the faithful,

qazi hawaa'ejil-mo'meneena

قاضي حَوائِجِ الْمُؤْمِنينَ

and the hearer of the appeals of the virtuous.

mogheesoos-saleheena

مُغيثُ الصّالِحينَ

You are Allah, there is no god but You. You are the Cherisher and Sustainer of all the worlds

antal-laho la ilaha illa anta rabbool' alameena

أَنْتَ اللهُ لا إِلـٰهَ إِلاّ أَنْتَ رَبُّ الْعالَمينَ،

You are the Creator and I am a creature.

antal-khaliqo wa anal-makhlooqo

أَنْتَ الْخالِقُ وَأَنَا الَْمخْلوُقُ

You are the Master and I am a servant,

wa antal-maliko wa anal-mamlooko

وَأَنْتَ الْمالِكُ وَأَنَا الْمَمْلوُكُ

You are the Lord and I am a slave.

wa antar-rabbo wa anal-'abdo

وَأَنْتَ الرَّبُّ وَأَنَا الْعَبْدُ

You are the Provider while I am provided with sustenance,

wa antar-raziqo wa anal-marzooqo

وَأَنْتَ الرّازِقُ وَأَنَا الْمَرْزُوقُ

You are the Giver while I am a beggar,

wa antal-mo'tee wa anas-saa'elo

وَأَنْتَ الْمُعْطيْ وَأَنَا السّائِلُ

You are the Generous while I am a miser.

wa antal-jawado wa anal-bakheelo

وَأَنْتَ الْجَوادُ وَأَنَا الْبَخيلُ،

You are the Mighty while I am weak,

wa antal-qawi-yo wa anaz-za'eefo

وَأَنْتَ الْقَوِيُّ وَأَنَا الضَّعيفُ

You are the Noble while I am humble.

wa antal-' azizo wa anaz-zaleelo

وَأَنْتَ الْعَزيزُ وَأَنَا الذَّليلُ،

You are the independent while I am needy.

wa antal-ghaniyo wa anal-faqiro

وَأَنْتَ الْغَنِيُّ وَأَنَا الْفَقيرُ،

You are the Master while I am a slave.

wa antas-sayyedo wa anal-abdo

وَأَنْتَ السَّيّـِدُ وَأَنَا الْعَبْدُ،

You are the Forgiver of sins while I am sinful.

wa antal-ghafiro wa anal-mosee’o

وَأَنْتَ الْغافِرُ وَأَنَا الْمُسـيئُ

You are the Omniscient while I am ignorant.

wa antal-alimo wa anal-jahilo

وَأَنْتَ الْعالِمُ وَأَنَا الْجاهِلُ،

You are the forbearing while I am hasty.

wa antal-hakeemo wa anal-'ajoolo

وَأَنْتَ الْحَليمُ وَأَنَا الْعَجُولُ،

You are the All-Merciful and I have been treated with mercy.

wa antar-rahmano wa-anal-marhoomo

وَأَنْتَ الرَّحْمنُ وَأَنَا الْمَرْحُومُ،

You are the Provider of safety but I am involved in suffering.

wa antal-mo'aafee wa anal-moobtala

وَأَنْتَ الْمُعافيْ وَأَنَا الْمُبْتَلىٰ،

You are the Responder and I am the distressed.

wa antal-mojeebo wa anal-mooztarro

وَأَنْتَ المُجيبُ وَأَنَا الْمُضْطَرُّ،

And I bear witness that verily You are Allah, there is no god but You

wa ana-ash-had be' annaka antal-laho la ilaha illa ant

وَأَنَا أَشْهَدُ بِأنَّكَ أَنْتَ اللهُ لا إِلـٰهَ إِلاّ أَنْتَ

You bestow favours upon Your slaves even without their asking.

al-mo'tee. ibadeka bela so’alin

الْمُعْطِيْ عِبادَكَ بِلا سُؤالٍ،

And I bear witness that verily You are Allah, the One, the Peerless,

wa ash-hado be-anneka antal-lahool-wahidoo. ahad

وَأَشْهَدُ بِأَنَّكَ أَنْتَ اللهُ الْواحِدُ الأَحَدُ

the Unique, the Independent, the Single,

al -mootafarredoos -samadool- fard

الْمُتَفَرّ ِدُ الصَّمَدُ الْفَرْدُ

and verily to You we must return.

wa ilaikal-maseero

وَإِلَيْكَ الْمَصيرُ،

May the blessings of Allah be upon Muhammad and his family the holy and pure.

wa sal-lal-laho ala mohammadin wa ahle baitehit-tayyebeenat- tahereena

وَصَلَّىٰ اللهُ عَلىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَأَهْلِ بَيْتِهِ الطَّيّـِبينَ الطّاهِرينَ

O Lord, forgive my sins

wagh-firli zonoobi

وَاغْفِرْ لي ذُنُوبي

and keep my faults concealed

wastoor ' alayya oyoobi

وَاسْتُرْ عَلَيَّ عيُوُبي

and extend to me Your special mercy and bounteous sustenance

waftah-lee min ladoonka rahmatan wa rizqan wase’an

وَافْتَحْ لي مِنْ لَدُنْكَ رَحْمَةً وَرِزْقاً واسِعاً

O the All-merciful!

ya ar-hamar-rahemeena

يا أَرْحَمَ الرّاحِمينَ

All praise is due to Allah the Cherisher and sustainer of all the worlds

wal-hamdo lil-lahe rabbil' alameena

وَالْحَمْدُ للهِ رَبّ ِ الْعالَمينَ

And Allah is sufficient for us and most excellent is the Protector.

was hasbonal-laho wa ne'mal-wakeelo

وَحَسْبُنَا اللهُ وَنْعِمَ الْوَكيلُ

There is neither might nor power but with Allah the Great, the Exalted.

wa la howla wa la qoowata illa billahil ali-yil' azim

وَلا حَوْلَ وَلا قُوَّةَ إِلاّ بِاللهِ الْعَلِيّ ِ الْعَظيمِ .
