Al-Sahifa e Alaviya
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate,
|
O Allah! Praise be to You that Your religion appeared in this world |
اَللَّهُمَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ ظَهَرَ دينُكَ |
|
Your representative Messengers and Imams did come. Your realm is strong, Your power is great |
وَ بَلَغَتْ حُجَّتُكَ، وَ اشْتَدَّ مُلْكُكَ، وَ عَظُمَ سُلْطانُكَ |
|
Your promise is true, Your Heavenly Throne is at the highest pitch and Your have sent Your messenger with the |
وَ صَدَقَ وَعْدُكَ، وَ ارْتَفَعَ عَرْشُكَ، وَ أرْسَلْتَ رَسُولَكَ بِالْهُدى |
|
guidance and the true religion so that he may make it triumphant over all other religions, though averse may be the polytheists. |
وَ دينِ الْحَقِّ لِيُظْهِرَهُ عَلَى الدّينِ كُلِّهِ وَ لَوْ كَرِهَ الْمُشْرِكُونَ |
|
O Allah, You perfected Your religion, made complete Your Light, are sanctified through (Your) promises. |
اَللَّهُمَّ فَاَكْمَلْتَ دينَكَ، وَ اَتْمَمْتَ نُورَكَ، وَ تقَدَّمْتَ بِالْوَعيدِ |
|
You have established manifest signs for mankind and Your words became perfected in truth and justice. |
وَ اَخَذْتَ الْحُجَّةَ عَلَى الْعِبادِ، وَ تَمَّتْ كَلِماتُكَ صِدْقاً وَ عَدْلاً |
|
O Allah, to You belongs praise, to You belong the blessings, and to You belongs grace: You remove hardship, grant ease |
اَللَّهُمَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ وَ لَكَ النِّعْمَةُ، وَ لَكَ الْمَنُّ، تَكْشِفُ الْعُسْرَ وَ تُعْطِي الْيُسْرَ |
|
decree the truth, act with justice and guide to the Way |
وَ تَقْضي بِالْحَقِّ وَ تَعْدِلُ بِالْقِسْطِ، وَ تَهْدِي السَّبيلَ |
|
Blessed is Your countenance, Glory be to You and praise |
تَبْارَكَ وَجْهُكَ سُبْحانَكَ وَ بِحَمْدِكَ |
|
There is no god but You, Lord of the heavens and Lord of the earth and those who are in it, “…Lord of the great Throne” (9:129) |
لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ أَنْتَ رَبُّ السَّماواتِ وَ رَبُّ الْاَرَضينَ وَ مَنْ فيهِنَّ وَ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظيمِ |
|
O Allah, to You belongs praise in the Torah, to You belongs praise in the Injil, to You belongs praise in the earliest Zabur |
اَللَّهُمَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ فِي التَّوْراةِ، وَ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ فِي الْاِنْجيلِ، وَ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ فِي زُبُرِ الْاَوَّلينَ |
|
and to You belongs praise in “.seven oft-repeated (verses) and the great Qur’an” (15:87) |
وَ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ في سَبْعِ الْمَثاني وَ الْقُرْانِ الْعَظيمِ |
|
praised amongst the Angels that enjoy nearness to You |
وَ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ فِي الْمَلائِكَةِ الْمُقَرَّبينَ |
|
praised are You amongst the Prophet-messengers, praised are You by the Honourable Recorders of men's deeds. |
وَ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ فِي الْاَنْبِياءِ وَ الْمُرْسَلينَ، وَ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ فِي الْكِرامِ الْكاتِبينَ |
|
Praise is befitting You only. All praise be to You and the praise is Your glory and Your testing is by a gracious trial |
وَ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ، وَ الْحَمْدُ ثَناؤُكَ، وَ الْحَسَنُ بَلاؤُكَ |
|
just is Your Decree, the earth is in Your grasp and the heavens are rolled up in Your right hand (ref 39:67) |
وَ الْعَدْلُ قَضاؤُكَ، وَ الْاَرْضُ في قَبْضَتِكَ وَ السَّماواتُ مَطْوِيَّاتٌ بِيَمينِكَ |
|
All praise be to You. You keep the scale of justice in balance. You are Lofty in status, Provider of manifest proofs, |
اَللَّهُمَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ مُقْسِطَ الْميزانِ، رَفيعَ الْمَكانِ قاضِيَ الْبُرْهانِ
|

Ordainer of the proof, True of speech, “…Possessor of Majesty and Grace” (55:78). |
صادِقَ الْكَلامِ ذَاالْجَلالِ وَ الْاِكْرامِ |
|
O Allah! You are praised for You are the Revealer of the Holy Verses, Grantor of the prayers, Remover of the difficulties, |
اَللَّهُمَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ مُنْزِلَ الْاياتِ، مُجيبَ الدَّعَواتِ كاشِفَ الْكُرُباتِ |
|
Bestower of the good things, Master of life and death |
الْفَتَّاحَ بِالْخَيْراتِ مالِكَ الْمَحْيا وَ الْمَماتِ |
|
O Allah, to You belongs praise gloriously to You belongs praise self-sufficiently |
اَللَّهُمَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ ماجِداً، وَ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ واجِداً |
|
Sincere obedience is for You. to You belongs the vast Throne. Ever-lasting praise is for You. All praise as justice demands is for You |
وَ لَكَ الدّينُ واصِباً، وَ لَكَ الْعَرْشُ واسِعاً وَ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ دائِماً، وَ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ عادِلاً |
|
Praise be to You as you have praised, to You belongs praise as You like to be praised and worshipped and thanked |
وَ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ كَما حَمِدْتَ بِهِ نَفْسَكَ، وَ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ كَما تُحِبُّ اَنْ تُحْمَدَ وَ تُعْبَدَ وَ تُشْكَرَ |
|
O my Allah! Your Praise-worthiness is Most Exalted and you are the most Merciful of the merciful |
جَلَّ ثَناؤُكَ رَبَّنا وَ اَنْتَ اَرْحَمُ الرَّاحِمينَ |
|
O Allah, to You belongs praise in “.. the night when it veils” (92:1), to You belongs praise in “.. the day when it appears radiant” (92:2) |
اَللَّهُمَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ فِي الَّليْلِ اِذا يَغْشى، وَ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ فِي النَّهارِ اِذا تَجَلَّى |
|
and to You belongs praise in “.. the end and the beginning” (92:13) |
وَ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ فِي الْاخِرَةِ وَ الْاُولى |
|
O Allah, to You belongs praise, how Beautiful and Majestic are You |
اَللَّهُمَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ ما اَجْمَلَكَ وَ اَجَلَّك |
|
to You belongs praise, how Generous and Glorious are You |
وَ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ ما اَجْوَدَكَ وَ اَمْجَدَكَ |
|
To You belongs praise, What an Excellence and Glory You posses |
وَ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ ما اَفْضَلَكَ وَ اَكْرَمَكَ |
|
Praise be to You for the destinies and decrees whether Your creatures like them or not |
وَ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ عَلى ما اَحَبَّ الْعِبادُ وَ كَرِهُوا مِنْ مَقاديرِكَ وَ حُكْمِكَ |
|
Praise be to You in all conditions of this world and those of the world Hereafter |
وَ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ عَلى كُلِّ حالٍ مِنْ اَمْرِ الدُّنْيا وَ الْاخِرَةِ |
|
O Best of those who is asked, O Most Excellent of those from whom is hoped, O Most Noble of those who are generous in giving |
يا خَيْرَ مَنْ سُئِلَ، وَ يا اَفْضَلَ مَنْ اُءَمِّلَ، وَ يا اَكْرَمَ مَنْ جادَ بِالْعَطاءِ |
|
Bless Muhammad, Your Prophet, and his family, and grant us security from the trial which is feared |
صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ نَبِيِّكَ وَ الِهِ وَ عافِنا مِنْ مَحْذُورِ الْبَلاءِ |
|
bestow on us “…becoming patience” (70:5) at the arrival of affliction |
وَ هَبْ لَنا الصَّبْرَ الْجَميلَ عِنْدَ حُلُولِ الرَّزايا |
|
let us experience ease and happiness, protect us from evil and wrongdoing |
وَ لَقِّنَا الْيُسْرَ وَ السُّرُورَ، وَ اكْفِنا الشَّرَّ وَ الشُّرُورَ |
|
and the capacity of that which is feared, and grant us security in all affairs, Surely You are “.. Benign, All-aware” (22:63) |
وَ كِفايَةَ الْمَحْذُورَ، وَ عافِنا في جَميعِ الْأُمُورِ اِنَّكَ لَطيفٌ خَبيرٌ

Bless Muhammad and his family, and grant us release (from distress) and ease |
وَ صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ، وَ اتِنا بِالْفَرَجِ وَ الرَّخاءِ |
|
and “..give us in this world good, and good in the hereafter, and guard us against the torment of the Fire” (2:201) |
وَ اتِنا فِي الدُّنْيا حَسَنَةً، وَ فِي الْاخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً، وَ قِنا عَذابَ النَّارِ |

O Most Merciful of the merciful |
يا اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمينَ |
|
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful,, the Compassionate O Allah, to You belongs Praise, Your religion became manifest, Your proof accomplished, Your Dominion powerful, Your sovereignty mighty; Your promise is true, Your Throne raised, You sent Your Messenger “..with the guidance and the religion of truth, that He may make it prevail over all religions, though the polytheists may detest it” (9:33). O Allah, You perfected Your religion, made complete Your Light, are sanctified through (Your) promises. You seized the proof over mankind and Your words became perfected in truth and justice. O Allah, to You belongs praise, to You belong the blessings, and to You belongs grace: You remove hardship, grant ease decree the truth, act with justice and guide to the Way… Blessed is Your countenance, Glory be to You and praise. There is no god but You, Lord of the heavens and Lord of the earth and those who are in it, “…Lord of the great Throne” (9:129). O Allah, to You belongs praise in the Torah, to You belongs praise in the Injil, to You belongs praise in the earliest Zabur, and to You belongs praise in “.seven oft-repeated (verses) and the great Qur’an” (15:87), to You belongs praise in the angels brought near, to You belongs praise in the Prophets and the Messengers, to You belongs praise in the noble recorders. To You belongs praise; Praise is Your eulogy, goodly is Your trial, just is Your Decree, the earth is in Your grasp and the heavens are rolled up in Your right hand (ref 39:67). O Allah, to You belongs praise, Just of balance, Lofty in status, Ordainer of the proof, True of speech, “…Possessor of Majesty and Grace” (55:78). O Allah, to You belongs praise, Revealer of the signs, Answerer of prayers, Remover of distress, Deliverer of good things, Master of life and death. O Allah, to You belongs praise gloriously to You belongs praise self-sufficiently, to You belongs praise continually, to You belongs the vast Throne, to You belongs praise always, to You belongs praise justly, to You belongs praise as You have praised Yourself through it, to You belongs praise as You like to be praised and worshipped and thanked; Exalted is Your Praise, our Lord, and You are the Most merciful of the merciful… O Allah, to You belongs praise in “.. the night when it veils” (92:1), to You belongs praise in “.. the day when it appears radiant” (92:2), and to You belongs praise in “.. the end and the beginning” (92:13)…. O Allah, to You belongs praise, how Beautiful and Majestic are You, to You belongs praise, how Generous and Glorious are You, to You belongs praise according to that which mankind likes and dislikes of Your decrees and judgement, and to You belongs praise at every state of the affair of this world and the hereafter. O Best of those who is asked, O Most Excellent of those from whom is hoped, O Most Noble of those who are generous in giving, Bless Muhammad, Your Prophet, and his family, and grant us security from the trial which is feared, bestow on us “…becoming patience” (70:5) at the arrival of affliction, let us experience ease and happiness, protect us from evil and wrongdoing and the capacity of that which is feared, and grant us security in all affairs, Surely You are “.. Benign, All-aware” (22:63). Bless Muhammad and his family, and grant us release (from distress) and ease, and “..give us in this world good, and good in the hereafter, and guard us against the torment of the Fire” (2:201) O Most Merciful of the merciful. .. |

In the name of Allah the Beneficent the Merciful.
O Allah! Praise be to You that Your religion appeared in this world, Your representative Messengers and Imams did come. Your realm is strong, Your power is great, Your promise is true.
Your Heavenly Throne is at the highest pitch and Your have sent Your messenger with the guidance and the true religion so that he may make it triumphant over all other religions, though averse may be polytheists.
O Allah! You have perfected Your religion, completed Your Light. You are Holy is respect of Your promise. You have established manifest signs foe mankind and perfected became Your Words wit truth and justice. O Allah! All praise be to You.
It is Your blessing that You remove the difficulties, bestow the happiness and ease, decree with truth decide with justice and guide to the right path. Hallowed is Your face. Glorified praise be to You. There is no god but You the Lord of the Heavens and the Lord of the Earth and of all that is in them, the Lord of the great Arsh Throne.
O Allah! Praised are You in Torah, praised are You in the Evangel, praised are You in the scriptures of the past, praised are You in Sura-e-Hamd and in the glorious Quran, praised amongst the Angels that enjoy nearness to You, praised are You amongst the Prophet-messengers, praised are You by the Honourable Recorders of men's deeds. Praised is befitting You only.
All praised be to You and the praise is Your glory. Your testing is by a gracious trial. Your decree is just, the Earth is within Your control and so is the sky. All praise be to You. You keep the scale of justice in balance. You are Lofty, Provider of manifest proofs, Truthful, Glorious and Glorified. O Allah! You are praised for You are the Revealer of the Holy Verses, Grantor of the prayers, Remover of the difficulties, Bestower of the blessings, life and death are under Your control.
O God! All praise is for You although You need it not. Sincere obedience if for You. The vastness of "Arsh" is for You, Ever-lasting praise is for You. All praise as justice demands is for You. Praise be to You as you have praised Yourself and in a manner which meets Your likeness and pleasure, through praise, worships, and thanks to You.
O my Allah! Your Praise-worthiness is Most Exalted and you are Most Merciful. O Lord! Praise be to You during night when it enshrouds. Praise be to You during the day when the sun shines. Praise be to You is this world and in the Hereafter. Praise be to You. How Excellent and Exalted are You in Your attributes. Praise be to You.
How Generous and how Great are You. Glory be to You. What an Excellence and Glory You posses. Praise be to You for the destinies and decrees whether Your creatures like them or not.
Praise be to You in all conditions of this world and those of the world Hereafter, O the most Merciful!
