اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَىٰ ٱلشَّجَرَةِ ٱلنَّبَوِيَّةِ

alssal¡mu `al¡ alshshajarati alnnabawiyyati

Peace be upon the Prophetic Tree

وَٱلدَّوْحَةِ ٱلْهَاشِمِيَّةِ ٱلْمُضيئَةِ

walddaw¦ati alh¡shimiyyati almu¤i'ati

and the H¡shemite plant that is luminous,

ٱلْمُثْمِرَةِ بِٱلنَّبُوَّةِ

almuthmirati bilnnubuwwati

fruitful of Prophethood,

ٱلْمُونِقَةِ بِٱلإِمَامَةِ

alm£niqati bil-im¡mati

and elegant with Imamate.

وَعَلىٰ ضَجِيعَيْكَ آدَمَ وَنُوحٍ

wa `al¡ ¤aj¢`ayka ¡dama wa n£¦in

And [peace be] upon your two grave-fellows; Adam and Noah,

عَلَيْهِمَا ٱلسَّلاَمُ

`alayhim¡ alssal¡mu

peace be upon both of them.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ وَعَلَىٰ اهْلِ بَيْتِكَ

alssal¡mu `alayka wa `al¡ ahli baytika

Peace be upon you and upon your Household,

ٱلطَّيِّبِينَ ٱلطَّاهِرِينَ

al§§ayyib¢na al§§¡hir¢na

the pure and immaculate.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ وَعَلَىٰ ٱلْمَلاَئِكَةِ ٱلْمُحْدِقِينَ بِكَ

alssal¡mu `alayka wa `al¡ almal¡'ikati almu¦diq¢na bika

Peace be upon you and upon the angels surrounding you

وَٱلْحَافِّينَ بِقَبْرِكَ

wal¦¡ff¢na biqabrika

and encompassing your tomb.

يَا مَوْلاَيَ يَا امِيرَ ٱلْمُوْمِنينَ

y¡ mawl¡ya y¡ am¢ra almu'min¢na

O my master, O Commander of the Believers!

هٰذَا يَوْمُ ٱلاحَدِ

h¡dh¡ yawmu al-a¦adi

Today is Sunday,

وَهُوَ يَوْمُكَ وَبِٱسْمِكَ

wa huwa yawmuka wa bismika

which is your day and carrying your name,

وَانَا ضَيْفُكَ فِيهِ وَجَارُكَ

wa an¡ ¤ayfuka f¢hi wa j¡ruka

and, on this day, I am your guest and in your vicinity;

فَاضِفْنِي يَا مَوْلاَيَ وَ اجِرْنِي

fa-a¤ifn¢ y¡ mawl¡ya wa ajirn¢

therefore, my master, receive me as your guest and neighbor.

فَإنَّكَ كَرِيمٌ تُحِبُّ ٱلضِّيَافَةَ

fa'innaka kar¢mun tu¦ibbu al¤¤iy¡fata

Surely, you are generous and hospitable

وَمَاْمُورٌ بِٱلإجَارَةِ

wa ma'm£run bil-ij¡rati

and you are commanded to treat your neighbors hospitably.

فَٱفْعَلْ مَا رَغِبْتُ إِلَيْكَ فِيهِ

faf`al m¡ raghibtu ilayka f¢hi

So, (please) do to me that which I desire from you

وَرَجَوْتُهُ مِنْكَ

wa rajawtuh£ minka

and I hope you to do,

بِمَنْزِلَتِكَ وَآلِ بَيْتِكَ عِنْدَ ٱللَّهِ

bimanzilatika wa ¡li baytika `inda all¡hi

[I ask you] in the name of your and your Household’s standing with Allah

وَمَنْزِلَتِهِ عِنْدَكُمْ

wa manzilatih¢ `indakum

and His standing with you all,

وَبِحَقِّ ٱبْنِ عَمِّكَ رَسُولِ ٱللَّهِ

wa bi¦aqqi ibni `ammika ras£li all¡hi

and in the name of your cousin, Allah’s Messenger,

صَلَّىٰ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ

¥all¡ all¡hu `alayhi wa ¡lih¢ wa sallama

may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him

وَعَلَيْهِمْ اجْمَعينَ

wa `alayhim ajma`¢na

and upon them all.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ يَا مُمْتَحَنَةُ

alssal¡mu `alayki y¡ mumta¦anatu

Peace be upon you, O examined lady.

اِمْتَحَنَكِ ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَكِ

imta¦anaki alladh¢ khalaqaki

He Who created you has examined you

فَوَجَدَكِ لِمَا ٱمْتَحَنَكِ صَابِرَةً

fawajadaki lim¡ imta¦anaki ¥¡biratan

and found that you have passed the examination patiently.

انَا لَكِ مُصَدِّقٌ

an¡ laki mu¥addiqun

I am a believer of you

صَابِرٌ عَلَىٰ مَا اتَىٰ بِهِ ابُوكِ وَوَصِيُّهُ

¥¡birun `al¡ m¡ at¡ bih¢ ab£ki wa wa¥iyyuh£

and I am carrying out that with which your father and his successor has come patiently;

صَلَوَاتُ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيْهِمَا

¥alaw¡tu all¡hi `alayhim¡

peace be upon both of them.

وَانَا اسْالُكِ إِنْ كُنْتُ صَدَّقْتُكِ

wa an¡ as'aluki in kuntu ¥addaqtuki

I now beseech you by my belief in you

إِلاَّ الْحَقْتِنِي بِتَصْدِيقِي لَهُمَا

ill¡ al¦aqtin¢ bita¥d¢q¢ lahum¡

to add me up with my belief in both of them

لِتُسَرَّ نَفْسِي

litusarra nafs¢

so that I will be delighted.

فَٱشْهَدِي انِّي ظَاهِرٌ بِوَلاَيَتِكِ

fash-had¢ ann¢ ¨¡hirun biwil¡yatiki

So, testify to me that I am totally loyal to you

وَوَلاَيَةِ آلِ بَيْتِكِ

wa wil¡yati ¡li baytiki

and to your Household;

صَلَوَاتُ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيْهِمْ اجْمَعينَ

¥alaw¡tu all¡hi `alayhim ajma`¢na

peace of Allah be upon them all.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ يَا مُمْتَحَنَةُ

alssal¡mu `alayki y¡ mumta¦anatu

Peace be upon you, O examined lady.

إِمْتَحَنَكِ ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَكِ قَبْلَ انْ يَخْلُقَكِ

imta¦anaki alladh¢ khalaqaki qabla an yakhluqaki

He Who created you had examined you before He created you.

وَكُنْتِ لِمَا ٱمْتَحَنَكِ بِه صَابِرَةً

wa kunti lim¡ imta¦anaki bih¢ ¥¡biratan

So, you passed the examination patiently.

وَنَحْنُ لَكِ اولِيَاءُ مُصَدِّقُونَ

wa na¦nu laki awliy¡'u mu¥addiq£na

We are loyal to and believers in you

وَلِكُلِّ مَا اتَىٰ بِهِ ابُوكِ

wa likulli m¡ at¡ bih¢ ab£ki

and to all that which has been conveyed [to us] by your father,

صَلَّىٰ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ

¥all¡ all¡hu `alayhi wa ¡lih¢ wa sallama

may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him,

وَاتَىٰ بِهِ وَصِيُّهُ عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلاَمُ مُسَلِّمُونَ

wa at¡ bih¢ wa¥iyyuh£ `alayhi alssal¡mu musallim£na

and to that which his successor (`a) has carried to us, are submissive.

وَنَحْنُ نَسْالُكَ ٱللَّهُمَّ

wa na¦nu nas'aluka all¡humma

So, we beseech You, O Allah,

إِذْ كُنَّا مُصَدِّقِينَ لَهُمْ

idh kunn¡ mu¥addiq¢na lahum

in the name of our belief in them,

انْ تُلْحِقَنَا بِتَصْدِيقِنَا بِٱلدَّرَجَةِ ٱلْعَالِيَةِ

an tul¦iqan¡ bita¥d¢qin¡ bilddarajati al`¡liyati

to add us, due to our belief, to the sublime rank

لِنُبَشِّرَ انْفُسَنَا بِانَّا قَدْ طَهُرْنَا بِوَلاَيَتِهِمْ

linubashshira anfusan¡ bi-ann¡ qad §ahurn¡ biwil¡yatihim

so that we will enjoy the good tidings that we have been purified on account of our loyalty to them,

عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلسَّلاَمُ

`alayhimu alssal¡mu

peace be upon them.
