اللّهُمَّ إنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِالْمَوْلُودَيْنِ فِي رَجَبٍ

allahumma inni asaluka bilmawludayni fi rajabin

O Allah: I beseech You in the name of those who were born in Rajab,

مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ الثَّانِي وَابْنِهِ عَلِيٍّ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمُنْتَجَبِ،

muhammadi bni `aliyy alththany wabnihi `aliyy bni muhammadin almuntajabi,

Muhammad ibn `Ali II and his son `Ali ibn Muhammad, the divinely selected.

 وَأَتَقَرَّبُ بِهِمَا إلَيْكَ خَيْرَ الْقُرَبِ،

wa ataqarrbu bihima ilayka khayra alqurabi,

And I seek nearness to You through both of them for they are the best means of nearness to You.

 يَا مَنْ إلَيْهِ الْمَعْرُوفُ طُلِبَ،

ya man ilayhi alma`rufu tuliba,

O He from Whom favors are sought,

 وَفِيمَا لَدَيْهِ رُغِبَ،

wa fima ladayhi rughiba,

and what He possesses is desired;

 أَسْأَلُكَ سُؤَالَ مُقْتَرِفٍ مُذْنِبٍ قَدْ أَوْبَقَتْهُ ذُنُوبُهُ،

asaluka su´ala muqtarifin mudhnibin qad awbaqathu dhunubuhu,

I beseech You with the entreaty of him whom is enchained by his sins

 وَأَوْثَقَتْهُ عُيُوبُهُ،

wa awthaqathu `uyubuhu,

and is bound by his defects;

 فَطَالَ عَلَى الْخَطَايَا دُؤُوبُهُ،

fatala `ala alkhataia du´ubuhu,

therefore, he devoted himself to offenses

 وَمِنَ الرَّزَايَا خُطُوبُهُ،

wa mina alrrzaia khutubuhu,

and disasters have attacked him heavily.

 يَسْأَلُكَ التَّوْبَةَ،

yasaluka alttubata,

He is now begging You for accepting his repentance;

 وَحُسْنَ الأوْبَةِ،

wa husna al-awbati,

and for good return from You;

 وَالنُّزُوعَ عَنِ الْحَوْبَةِ،

wal-nnzu`a `ani alhawbati,

and for redeeming from punishment;

 وَمِنَ النَّارِ فَكَاكَ رَقَبَتِهِ،

wa mina alnnari fakaka raqabatihi,

and for releasing from Hellfire;

 وَالْعَفْوَ عَمَّا فِي رِبْقَتِهِ،

wal-`afwa `amma fi ribqatihi,

and for overlooking the sins that are hanged to him.

 فَأَنْتَ مَوْلايَ أَعْظَمُ أَمَلِهِ وَثِقَتِهِ.

fanta mawlaiya a`¨amu amalihi wa thiqatihi.

Certainly, You, O my Master, the greatest hope and desire that He has.

 اللّهُمَّ وَأَسْأَلُكَ بِمَسَائِلِكَ الشَّرِيفَةِ،

allahumma wa asaluka bimasa’ilika alshshrifati,

And, O Allah, I beg You by all the holy means that You admit

وَوَسَائِلِكَ الْمُنِيفَةِ أَنْ تَتَغَمَّدَنِي فِي هذَا الشَّهْرِ بِرَحْمَةٍ مِنْكَ وَاسِعَةٍ،

wa wasa’ilika almunifati an tataghammdany fi hadha alshshahri birahmatin minka wasi`atin,

and by all the elevated courses that take to You, that You, in this month, encompass me with vast mercy of You,

 وَنِعْمَةٍ وَازِعَةٍ،

wa ni`matin wazi`atin,

with abundant favors,

 وَنَفْسٍ بِمَا رَزَقْتَهَا قَانِعَةٍ،

wa nafsin bima razaqtaha qani`atin,

and with satisfaction with what You have decided for myself

 إلَى نُزُولِ الْحَافِرَةِ،

ila nuzuli alhafirati,

until I am put in my final hole,

 وَمَحَلِّ الآخِرَةِ،

wa mahall alakhirati,

which is my abode to the Hereafter

 وَمَا هِيَ إلَيْهِ صَائِرَةٌ.

wa ma hiya ilayhi sa’iratun.

and the Final Fate.
