His supplication on the Day of the Battle of Badr

Allaahumma anta thiqati fee kulli karbi. Wa anta rajaa-ee fee kulli shiddah. Wa anta lee fee kulli amrin nazala bee thiqatunw wa u’ddatun. Fakam min karbim biz”a’fi feehil fu-aadu wa taqalla feehil h’eelah. Wa yukhdhalu feehil qareeb. Wa yashmutu bihil a’duww. Wa ta i’yaa feehil umoor. Anzaltahu bika wa shakautahu ilaik. Raaghiban feehi ilaika a’mman siwaak. Fafarrajtahu wa kashaftahu a’nnee. Falakal h’amdu katheeraa

O Allah, You are my trust in every distress, and my hope in every difficulty. And You are for me in every matter that descends on me, a support and preparation. Then how many are the sorrows that weaken the hearts and the lack of solutions and all the near ones desert and the enemies taunt by it and all the affairs become helpless. I leave all of it on You and I complain about it to You, and I refer it to You. Who else is there besides You? Make it easy and take it away from me. And You are sufficient for it. Then You are the giver of all the bounties and the fulfiller of all the needs and the aim of all entreaties. Then exceeding praise is for You…

Wa lakal mannu faaz”ilaa. Wa anna bini’matika tatimmus’ s’aalih’aati yaa ma’roofam bil ma’roof. Yaa man huwa bil ma’roofi maus’oof. Anilnee mim ma’roofika ma’roofan tughneenee bihi a’m ma’roofi man siwaak. Bi rah’matika yaa arh’amar raah’imeen.

and for You the best of the mercies. By Your bounties the good deeds are completed. O One well known for good things. O One Who is described by good. Bestow me from Your goodnesses one goodness. Such that I become needless by it of the favors of others besides You. By Your mercy, O the Best of the mercifuls.

Dua on the Day of Uhad

When the people separated from him, it is related from as-Sadiq (a.s.):

Allaahumma lakal h’amdu. Wa ilaikal mushtakaa. Wa antal mustaa’a’n.

O Allah, Praise is for You and towards You we complain and You alone can help.

Dua on the night of Ahzab

Husain bin Saeed has mentioned it in his book of supplications and narrated from Abi Ja’far (a.s.). It is as follows:

Yaa s’areekhal makroobeen. Yaa mujeeba da’watil muz”t’arreen. Akshif a’nnee hammee. Wa ghammee wa kurbatee. Fa-innaka ta’lamu h’aalee wa h’aala as’-h’aabee. Fakfinee haula a’duwwee. Fa-innahu laa yakshifuhu ghairuk.

O Remover of sorrows, O Acceptor of prayers of the helpless. Take away from me my sorrow, and my grief and my sadness. You are aware of my condition and the condition of my companions, then protect me from the fear of my enemies. For besides You, none can remove it.

Dua on the Day of Ahzab

Abdullah bin Hammad al-Ansari has quoted it in the 5th Vol. of his book from Imam as-Sadiq (a.s.). The supplication is as follows:

Al-h’amdu lillaahi wah’dahu laa shareeka lah. Al-h’amdu lillaahilladhee ad-o’o’hu fayujeebunee. Wa in kuntu bat’ee-an h’eena yad-o’o’nee. Wal h’amdu lillaahilladhee as-aluhu fayu’t’eenee. Wa in kuntu bakheelan h’eena yastaqirru Z’’un-ee. Wal h’amdu lillaahilladhis ta’feehi fayua’a’feenee. Wa inkuntu muta-a’rriz”an lilladhee nahaanee a’nhu. Wal h’amdu lillaahilladhee akhloo bihi kullamaa shi-tu fee sirree

Praise be to Allah, the One, Who has no partner, Praise be to Allah, the One Whom I call and He answers me. And when I become slothful He calls me. And praise be to Allah, the One, Whom when I ask, He bestows to me. And when I am miserly He makes me indebted. And praise be to Allah, the One Whom when I ask for forgiveness, He forgives me. And if I turn away from it He presents me from it. And praise be to Allah, the One to Whom I express my secrets in seclusion, when I desire,…

Wa az”au’ i’ndahu maa shi-tu min amri. Min ghairi shafeei’n fayaqz”eelee h’aajatee. Wal h’amdu lillaahilladhee wakkalani ilaihi fa-akramnee. Walam yakilnee ilan naasi fayaheenoonee. Wa kafaanee rabbee barifqin. Wa lat’fa bee rabbee limaa jufoonee. Falakal h’amdu Raz”eetu bilut’fika yaa rabbi lut’fan. Wa raz”eetu bikanafika yaa rabbi kanafan.

and I put before Him what I like from my affairs without any intercessor and He fulfills my needs. And praise be to Allah, on Whom I rely and He honored me. And I do not rely on the people, then they humiliate me. And my Lord is sufficient for me for mercy. And my Lord has been kind to me and not oppressed me. Then for You is the praise, I am satisfied by Your kindness, O the kind Lord and I am satisfied with Your protection, O the Protecting Lord.

From his supplication on the Day of Hunain

Rabbi kuntu wa takoonu h’ayyanw wa laa tamoot. Tanaamul u’yoonu wa tankadirun nujoom. Wa anta h’ayyul laa ta-a-khudhuka sinatun wa laa naum.

O Lord, You were and You will remain living and You will not die. The eyes sleep and the stars darken, and You are the living, neither slumber overtakes You, nor sleep.

Hunain

Jibraeel (a.s.) descended with it. It is as follows:

Allaahumma innee as-aluka ta’jeela a’a’fiyataka wa s’abran a’laa baleeyatik. Wa khuroojanm minad dunyaa ilaa rah’matik.

O Allah indeed I ask You to speed up Your forgiveness and (give) patience on Your tests, and exodus from the world into Your Mercy.

Day of the Cave

It is as follows:

Yaa mu-nisal mustauh’isheen. Wa yaa aneesal mutafarradeen. Wa yaa z’aharal munqat’ie’e’n. yaa maalal muqalleen. Wa yaa quwwatal mustaz”-a’feen. Wa yaa kanzal fuqaraa-i. Wa yaa mooz”i-a’sh shakwal ghurabaa-i. Wa yaa mutafarridam bil jalaal. Wa yaa ma’roofam binnawaal. Wa yaa katheeral ifz”aal. Aghithnee kurbatee. Wa s’allallaahu a’laa muh’ammadinw wa aalihi ajmae’e’n.

O companion of the fearful Ones, O confidant of the lonely ones. O the backing of those who are cut off. O wealth of the poor, strength of the weakened ones. O treasure of destitutes, O One Who is the repository of complains of poor people, O One, the Unique One from the aspect of majesty. O One well-known for generosity. O One having most merits, give refuge in my sorrow; and bless Muhammad and all of his progeny.

Supplication of Amirul Momineen (a.s.) at the beginning of the Battle of Siffin

From the book Siffin of Abdul Aziz al-Jaludi from our companions (r.a.) that he said: When we returned with the flag, Ali (a.s.) said:

Bismillaahir rah’maanir rah’eem. Laa h’aula wa laa quwwata illaa billaahil a’leeyil a’z’eem. Allaahumma iyyaaka na’budu wa iyyaaka nastae’e’nu yaa allaahu yaa rah’maanu yaa rah’eemu yaa ah’adu yaa s’amadu yaa ilaaha muh’ammadin. ilaika nuqiltil aqdaamu wa afaz”atil quloobu wa shakhas’atil abs’aaru wa muddatil aa’naaqu wa t’ulbatil h’awaa-iju wa rufa’til aidee iftah’ bainanaa wa baina qauminaa bil h’aqqi wa anta khairul faatih’een.

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. There is no power and strength except by Allah, the Exalted and the Mighty. O Allah, Thee alone we worship and Thee do me beseech for help. O Allah, O Beneficent, O Merciful, O One, O Sufficient. O God of Muhammad, to You the steps move and the hearts weep and the eyes stare and the necks are craned and the needs are asked and the hands are raised. Give victory between us and our people by the truth and You are the best of the victors.

Then he said:

LAA iLAAHA ILLALLAAHu WALLAAHu AKBAR.

“There is no god except Allah and Allah is the greatest”, three times.[1]

Supplication of Owais Qarni (r.a.) for warding off calamities

Allaahumma khalaqtanee walam aku madhkoora. Wa razaqtanee wa lam amluk shai-anw wa z’alamtu nafsee war takabtul maa’a’s’ee wa anaa muqarrum bidhambee. In ghafarta lee falaa yanqus’u mim mulkika. Wa in tua’dhdhibnee falaa yazeedu fi sult’aanika. Wa innaka tajidu man tua’dhdhi buhu ghairee wa anaa laa ajidu mayn yaghfira lee illaa anta innaka anta arh’amar raah’imeen.

O Allah You created me while I was unworthy of mention and bestowed me while I had nothing of my own. And I was unjust on myself and fell into Your disobedience and I confess to my sins. If You forgive me there would be no decrease in Your Kingdom and if You punish me there would be no increase in Your authority. And indeed You can find others than me, whom You can punish but I cannot find anyone other than You Who can bestow me forgiveness. Indeed You are the best of the merciful ones.
